Fosil yakıtlarının sebep olduğuküresel iklim değişikliği gibi zorunlu sebeplerinde tetiklediği sorunlardandolayı, yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarına olan talebin artması bu kaynaklarınalternatif enerji kaynakları olarak adlandırmaktan ziyade temel enerji kaynaklarıolarak adlandırılmasını kaçınılmaz kılmıştır. Güneş, rüzgâr, biyogaz,jeotermal, hidroelektrik, hidrojen, dalga enerjileri bu kaynaklar arasındadır.Bu alternatif enerji çeşitlerinden her türlü coğrafyaya tesis edilebilecek,dünya var oldukça hep var olacak, kurulum maliyeti en düşük ve sisteme entegrasyonuen kolay olan enerji kaynağı güneş enerjisidir. Bu avantajlarından dolayıpotansiyel güneş enerjisinin yaşamımızda kullanılabilir enerjiye dönüşümündearacı sistem fotovoltaik(Solar) panellerdir. Fotovoltaik paneller, değişkençevresel faktörlere göre uygun değer aralıklarında, güneşten gelen ışınımlarınpanel dahili fotonları hareketlendirmesiyle elektriksel enerji oluşturur.Fotovoltaik paneller elektriksel enerjiyi DA(Doğru Akım) formunda üretmektedir.Çağımızda elektriksel enerji; büyük oranda AA (Altenatif Akım) olaraküretme-iletme-dağıtma-tüketme olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu sebeple solarpanelden üretilen DA(Doğru Akım) formunu AA(Alternatif Akım) formunadönüştürmek gerekmektedir. Güç elektroniği sistemlerinde de bu görevi üstlenendevre yapısının bütünü İnverter(Evirici) olarak adlandırılmaktadır. İnvertersistemlerde DA formun AA forma dönüşümü, uygun tipte seçilen anahtarlama tabanlıyarı iletken güç elektroniği devre elemanları sayesinde yapılmaktadır. AA formaçevrilen enerji tam sinüs (ideal sinüs) formuna en yakın olacak şekilde yükeaktarımı hem yük üzerindeki istenmeyen gürültü sinyallerini minimize etmektehem de istemeyen sistem kayıplarına engel olmaktadır. Tam sinüs formuna yakınformu elde etmek için ise filtre devreler tasarlanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ‘’On-Grid PVyenilenebilir enerji temelli elektrikli araç şarj istasyonu tasarımı” için inverter(Evirici) sistemler ve filtrelerin tek fazlı-üç fazlı olarak tasarımlarıylailgili yaklaşım ve analizleri sunuldu. İlk olarak DA formunda olan girişdeğerini inverter çıkışında AA kare dalga formunda elde ederek invertertasarımının istenen çıkış değerlerini vermesi sağlandı. Daha sonra invertersistem çıkışında, sisteme uygun modellenen filtre devre yardımıyla yüke aktarılandeğer tam sinüs forma yakın elde edildi. İstenmeyen harmonik gürültü değerleride analiz edilerek filtre devrenin istenen çıkış değerlerini karşılanması sağlandı.Tasarlanan her iki sistem ile inverter sistem anahtarlama elemanlarınınfrekansı ve filtre devre elemanlarının uygun özgül değerleri değiştirilerek yüküzerindeki çıkış sinyal seviyeleri farklı kullanım amaçlarına göre farklıbirçok çalışma için değiştirilebileceği gözlemlendi.

This paper includes two new microstrip filterconfigurations for high frequency and Ultra-Wide Band applications. The first proposedfilter is a composition of four parallel open-circuited stubs connected by optimizedfractal-structured microstrip line. The filter response is a combination ofthree passing regions, namely low pass from 0.1 GHz to 3 GHz, band-pass from4.5 GHz to 9 GHz and high pass from 10.5 GHz to 13 GHz, separated by tworejection regions from 3 GHz to 4.5 GHz and 9 GHz to 10.5 GHz. Deep and sharprejection regions reaching up to -44.6 dB with 40 % fractional bandwidth (FBW)are observed with a good electrical performance. Furthermore, with a comparative table, the advantagesof this proposed BSF in terms of FBW, compactness and insertion loss arecompared with recently reported related studies. Secondly a dual-band band pass filter implementing a Stepped-Impedanceresonator (SIR) and a modifiedH-shaped structure is presented. This filter isdesigned to operate in a low pass region up to 3.58 GHz and a band pass regionfrom 15.38 to 21.65 GHz, with a wide stopband region between 4.46 and 14.07 GHz. The simulated andmeasured results are in good agreement. Compared to its peers, the compact sizeand low price allow for a wide application of these filter configurations,while passing frequencies allow operation in the unlicensed frequency spectrum,which is popular for high-speed communication

Günümüzde özellikle Covid-19 pandemisinden sonra, ticaretten eğitime kadar birçok ihtiyacın internet ile sanal ortama taşınmasıyla veri hızına olan ihtiyaç ve talep artmış ve mevcut en hızlı 4G LTE standardından 100 kat daha hızlı olacak şekilde her ülke kendi 5G kablosuz haberleşme standartlarını belirlemiştir. Ayrıca cep telefonları için yeni uygulamaların geliştirilmesi, daha büyük bant genişliği ve daha hızlı veri aktarımına olan ihtiyacı daha da artırmıştır. 5G teknolojisinde kullanılacak yüksek frekanslı mikroşerit antenlerin kazanç, verimlilik ve bant genişliği gibi performans kriterlerinin dielektrik alttaşın fiziksel ve elektriksel parametrelerine bağımlılığı, düşük frekanslı antenlerden çok daha hassastır. Bu nedenle, 5G haberleşmede kullanılacak milimetre dalga antenler için en uygun boyuta ve karakteristiğe sahip bir alttaş seçimi anten performansı açısından çok önemlidir. Bu çalışmada 5G haberleşme için yeni bir mikroşerit anten tasarımı, simülasyonu ve alttaş kalınlığa bağlı performans analizi yapılmıştır. Önerilen bu anten için kullanılan Arlon AD300C alttaşının fiziksel boyutlarının anten performansına etkileri 4 farklı alttaş kalınlığı kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Optimum kalınlık değerini elde etmek için sonuçlar bant genişliği, geri dönüş kaybı, kazanç, gibi kriterler açısından ayrı ayrı analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak 5G haberleşme için 5.65 GHz çalışma frekansında önerilen bu mikroşerit yama antende kullanılan Arlon AD300C alttaşının en yüksek performansı kalınlık 1.2 mm iken 7.5 dBi’lık kazanç ve 140 MHz’lik bant genişliği olarak elde edilmiştir., Nowadays, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, the need and demand for data speed has increased with the transfer of many needs from trade to education to the virtual environment via internet and each country has set its own 5G wireless communication standards that are 100 times faster than the fastest 4G LTE standard available. The development of new applications for mobile phones has further increased the need for greater bandwidth and faster data transfer. The dependence of performance criteria such as gain, efficiency and bandwidth of high frequency microstrip antennas to be used in 5G technology on the physical and electrical parameters of the dielectric substrate is much more sensitive than low frequency antennas. Hence, choosing a substrate with the most suitable size and characteristic for mm-wave antennas for 5G communication is very important in terms of antenna performance. In this study, a new microstrip antenna for 5G communication was designed and simulated and performance analysis was performed according to substrate thickness. The effects of the physical dimensions of the proposed antenna substrate (Arlon AD300C) on antenna performance were investigated using 4 different substrate thicknesses. In order to obtain the optimum thickness value, the results were analyzed in terms of criteria such as bandwidth, return loss and gain. Consequently, the highest performance of the proposed antenna for 5G communication at 5.65 MHz operating frequency was achieved at a thickness of 1.2 mm, with a gain of 7.5 dBi and a bandwidth of 140 MHz.

In MIMO antennas, mutual coupling that adversely effects antenna performance is due to the surface currents. To date, many techniques have been proposed to suppress these surface currents such as Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structures, metamaterial unit cell, band-stop filters and Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS). FSSs, when properly designed, can act as a band-stop filter in a given frequency range and thus prevent the propagation of these surface waves in the microstrip patch arrays. In this study, a new FSS unit cell is designed to reduce the mutual coupling effect caused by surface currents between two identical 2x1 patch antenna arrays with a 3.49 GHz operating frequency. These designed FSS unit cells are placed between the patches with a 1x5 periodic sequence. According to the simulation results, mutual coupling effect decreased by 26.6 dB without any shift in the transmission band with only 0.48 dB change in S11. Finally, ECC curves are plotted separately for the antenna array with and without the FSS wall. It is observed that the ECC of the antenna array is dropped from 0.16 to 0.07 by applying the proposed isolation wall., MIMO antenlerinde, anten performansını olumsuz etkileyen karşılıklı kuplaj, yüzey akımlarından kaynaklanır. The trend towards renewable energy sources has increasedas fossil fuels are harmfull for enviroment and have started to run out andtherefore the idea of using a lightning current, which is a major source ofenergy, has begun to be popular. The direct use of lightning energy has notbeen possible until now, but there are many ideas about the indirect use of thishigh energy. A method that is proposed for the use of lightning currentindirectly is to use the induced voltage around the strike location. As thelightning current generates an energy at the point it drops, there is also avoltage that this current induces in the conductors around it by coupling. In this study, a new method was developed foranalyzing the voltage that is induced by a lightning strike on a conductive rodand the energy distribution was simulated by the MATLAB simulation program.. Initially, common impedance of two conductors iscalculated and the distance between these conductors and the length of theconductors are taken at four different values to simulate the induced voltage. According to these simulation results, it is seen thatthe induced voltage value is inversely proportional to the distance between theconductors. Furthermore as a resultof the simulation, the induced voltage increases directly proportional to theheight of the second conductor., Fosil yakıtlarının çevreye verdiğizarar ve tükenmeye yüz tutmasıyla yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarına yönelimartmıştır ve dolayısıyla büyük bir enerji kaynağı olan yıldırım akımınınkullanılması fikri de rağbet görmeye başlamıştır. Yıldırım enerjisinin direkolarak kullanılması şimdiye kadar mümkün olmamıştır fakat dolaylı olarakkullanımıyla ilgili çok sayıda fikir yürütülmüştür. Yıldırım akımının dolaylıolarak kullanımıyla ilgili olarak ileri sürülen bir yöntemde indüklenmeyleçevresinde oluşan gerilimin kullanılmasıdır. Yıldırım akımı düştüğü noktada birenerji ürettiğinden, bu akımın kuplaj yoluyla çevresindeki iletkenlerdeindüklediği bir voltaj vardır. Bu çalışmada bir iletkene yıldırım düşmesiyleyakınındaki yere dik duran başka bir iletkende indüklediği gerilimin analiziiçin yeni bir yöntem geliştirilmiş ve MATLAB benzetim programı yardımıylaenerji dağılımının benzetimi yapılmıştır. Öncelikle iki iletkenin ortakempedans hesabı yapılmış ve daha sonra bu iletkenlerin arasındaki uzaklık veiletkenlerin boyu üç farklı değerde alınarak indüklenen gerilimin benzetimiyapılmıştır. Bu benzetim sonuçlarına göre iletkenlerin birbirine olan mesafesiile ters orantılı olarak indüklenen gerilim değerinin değiştiği görülmüştür.Ayrıca ikinci iletkenin yüksekliği ile doğru orantılı olarak indüklenengerilimin arttığı benzetim sonucunda görülmüştür.

In this study, an offset horn feed parabolic reflector antenna operating at 29.75 GHz Ka bandtransmitter frequency, is designed, simulated and the directivity radiation pattern is plotted. Then an omegametamaterial (MM) lens layer is designed to show double negative (DNG) characteristic in the samefrequency range and used inside the horn antenna and the far field radiation pattern was replotted. Accordingto the simulation results, when the MM lens is used, an increase of +3.7 dB in the directivity and a 4.3 °decrease in the HPBW of the feed horn antenna, is observed.

This study proposes a novel double negative (DNG) metamaterial superstate to improve thedirectivity of the microstrip patch antenna (MPA) in Ku Band (12 GHz). For this enhancement, initially amicrostrip patch antenna operating at 12 GHz is designed and simulated by CST MWS program. Then anew DNG metamaterial unit cell is designed. In order to increase the total capacitive and inductive effectsin this structure and to tune the structure as DNG at the desired frequency band a few experiments are carriedout. Then this unit cell is converted into a 2x2 periodic planar structure and placed in front of the referenceMPA as a lens. It is observed that the directivity of MPA increased 2.46 dB by utilizing this DNGsuperstrate.

The reverberation chambers, which are electromagnetic test structures are alternative to theanechoic chambers because of the installation cost is much lower than the anechoic chamber. In orderfor a room to be reverberation chamber, the level of the electric field must be determined and electricfield uniformity must be provided in the room. In order to have a uniform electric field in the room, thestandard deviation of the maximum electric fields must be 4dB between 80 MHz and 100MHz, linearlydecrease from 4dB to 3dB from 100MHz to 400MHz, and below 3dB above 400MHz. Obtaining theelectric field uniformity depends on the parameters such as the placement of the stirrer in the room andthe stirrer position and size, transmitter antenna position, room dimensions. In this study, the effect ofthe placement of the stirrer in the room was examined for the uniformity of the electric field, and as aresult of the simulation performed, it was seen that the stirrer contributed significantly to the uniformityof the electric field.

The reverberation chamber is a test environment that is constructed as an alternative to a fullyreflective or semi-reflective room, coated with internal and external materials with high conductivity, and hasa homogeneous electric field structure limited by certain standards. The biggest advantage is that theinstallation costs are much lower than the full non-reflective room. It is necessary to obtain uniformity ofelectric field in the room so that a room can be a reverberation chamber. A reverberation chamber basicallycontains a few components such as stirrer, transmitter antenna and receiver antenna. According to theoptimization of the components, the uniformity of the electric field inside the room can be provided. Theparameters such as position, shape, size, angle of the stirrer which is one of the most important elements in thechamber, affect the uniformity of the electric field. In this study, the effect of the stirrer shape on the electricfield uniformity was investigated and the results were compared.

Reverberation chambers arenew and effective test environments used in recent years for electromagneticcompatibility testing because of their relatively cheap realization. These chambersare seen as an alternative to fully non-reflective testing environments in thePre-Compatibility testing stages (due to the high approximation of the result). Reverberation chamber testing environments have a muchcheaper installation cost than the full-reflective rooms despite the size oftheir working volumes. In this study, a reverberation chamber with realdimensions is designed with the help of electromagnetic simulation program. Theeffect of the stirrer and the stirrer location in the room was investigated byadding the stirrer to this reverberation chamber. According to the observedresults, the effect of the addition of stirrer in the room over the standarddeviation of the electric fields, ie the electric field uniformity, is averagely1 dB. In addition, although the stirrer location in the room had little effecton the electric field uniformity, It has been observed that the determinationof the stirrer location has a significant effect to obtain the limits proposedby the International Electrotechnical Commission standard (IEC 61000-4-21)., Yansımalı odalar göreceçok ucuza gerçeklenebilmeleri nedeni ile son yıllarda elektromanyetik uyumluluktestleri için kullanılan yeni ve etkili bir test ortamıdır. Ön uyumluluk testaşamalarında (sonuca ilişkin yüksek yaklaşıklıkta cevap vermeleri nedeni ile) tamyansımasız test ortamları için bir alternatif olarak görülmektedir. Yansımalıoda test ortamları, çalışma hacimlerinin büyüklüğüne rağmen tam yansımasız odalaragöre çok daha ucuz kurulum maliyetine sahiptir. Bu çalışmada, elektromanyetik benzetimprogramı yardımıyla gerçek boyutlarda bir yansımalı oda tasarlanmıştır. Dahasonra tasarlanan bu yansımalı oda içerisine karıştırıcı eklenerek bukarıştırıcının ve karıştırıcının oda içerisindeki konumunun alan düzgünlüğüneolan etkisi incelenmiştir. Gözlemlenen sonuçlara göre oda içerisine karıştırıcıeklenmesinin elektrik alanların standart sapmasına yani elektrik alan düzgünlüğüneolan etkisi ortalama 1 dB’dir. Bunun yanında oda içerisindeki karıştırıcıkonumun elektrik alan düzgünlüğüne oldukça az bir etkisi olmasına rağmen UluslararasıElektroteknik Komisyon standartının(IEC 61000-4-21) önerdiği limitleri eldeetmek için karıştırıcı konumun belirlenmesinin önemli ölçüde bir etkiye sahipolduğu gözlemlenmiştir.

This paper proposes improving the directivity of microstrip patch antennas (MPAs) by using metamaterials. Four different metamaterial types are used as a flat lens in front of the MPA, respectively, which are tuned to 12 GHz (Ku-band) resonance frequency. Thus, it can be decided which metamaterial is more proper for antenna directivity enhancement at this band. One additional new metamaterial structure is proposed in this paper, which is called a Euro-shaped resonator, and other metamaterials used are the triangular split ring resonator, symmetrical ring structure, and split ring resonator. The permeability and permittivity of metamaterials are extracted from the S parameters by using a robust method. Microwave Studio by Computer Simulation Technology is used for modeling and simulation. The MPA and metamaterials are fabricated, and measurements are performed in the Y{\i}ld{\i}z Technical University RF and Microwave Laboratory. It is observed that measured results are in close agreement with the computer simulations.

Kablosuz haberleşme ve mobil iletişim sistemlerinde sıklıkla kullanılan mikroşerit yama antenlerin yönlendirici kazancını artırmak için kullanılan en klasik yöntem dizi anten tasarlamaktır. Fakat bu yöntemin temel iki dezavantajı; elemanlar arası kuplaj ve her elemanı ayrı besleme problemidir. Bu tez çalışması, Ku Bandında (12 GHz) mikroşerit yama antenin yönlendirici kazancını iyileştirmek için ayrı bir üsttaş metamateryal (MM) lens katmanı kullanmayı önermektedir. Bunun için öncelikle Ku-Bandında çalışan bir mikroşerit yama anten tasarlandı. Daha sonra lens olarak kullanılacak metamateryallerin birim hücre yapıları Ku bantta metamateryal karakteristiği gösterecek şekilde tasarlandı ve ölçeklendirildi. Ayrıca birim hücre metamateryal yapılardaki endüktif ve kapasitif etkiye sebebiyet veren geometrik ayrıntıların iletim bandına etkisi incelendi. Birim hücre yapıların ortam parametrelerinin her ikisininde (є,μ) Ku bantta negatif olduğunu doğrulamak için Robust metodu kullanılarak MATLAB'da eğrileri çizdirildi. Daha sonra elde edilen bu birim hücre metamateryal yapıları periyodik lens katmanına dönüştürmek için dielektrik katmanda en uygun dağılım kombinasyonu, referans antene optimum uzaklığı ve gelen dalga ile yapacağı en uygun açı değerleri tespit edildi ve her beş farklı metamateryal lens bu değerlere göre kullanıldı. Simülasyon ve tasarımlar CST'de, üretim ve laboratuvar ölçümleri ise Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Elektronik ve Haberleşme bölümü RF ve Mikrodalga Laboratuvarında gerçekleştirildi. Ölçüm sonuçlarının bilgisayar simülasyonlarıyla yakın olduğu ve her iki durumda da referans anten yönlendirici kazancında iyileştirme olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Ayrıca, anten yönlendirici kazancındaki artım ile paralel olarak HPBW'de de azalma olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Son olarak 29.75 GHz Ka band verici frekansında çalışan bir parabolik reflektör anten tasarlandı ve beslemesi için bir ofset horn anten kullanılarak simülasyonu yapıldı ve yönlendirici kazanç ışıma örüntüsü çizdirildi. Daha sonra aynı frekans bölgesinde DNG özelliği gösterecek şekilde omega yapıda bir MM lens katmanı tasarlanarak horn antenin iç kısmında kullanıldı ve uzak alan ışıma örüntüsü tekrar çizdirildi. Simülasyon sonuçlarına göre MM lens kullanınca besleme horn antenin yönlendirici kazancında +3.7 dB'lik bir artış ve HPBW'de ise 4.3° bir daralma gözlemlendi. The common classical method that is used to improve the directivity gain of microstrip patch antennas, which are frequently used in wireless and mobile communication systems, is to design the array antennas. But the main two disadvantages of this method are; coupling between each element and the feeding of each antenna. This thesis proposes using of a separate superstrate metamaterial (MM) lens layer to enhance the directivity gain of the microstrip patch antenna in the Ku Band (12 GHz). Initially, a microstrip patch antenna is designed at Ku-Band. Later, the unit cell structures of the metamaterials are designed and scaled to show the metamaterial characterization in the Ku band. Furthermore, the geometric details on the unit cells of the metamaterials leading to the inductive and capacitive effects, is investigated. Є and μ curves of the unit cells are plotted in MATLAB by utilizing the Robust method to verify that both media parameters (є,μ) are negative at Ku band. In order to convert the unit cell metamaterial structures into a periodic lens layer, the optimal distribution in the dielectric layer, the optimum distance to the reference antenna and the optimum angle with the incident wave are determined and the five different metamaterial lenses are used according to these values. Simulations and designs are carried out in CST, and production and laboratory measurements are carried out in the RF and Microwave Laboratory of Electronics and Communication Department at Yıldız Technical University. It has been observed that the measurement results are close to computer simulations and that in both cases there is an improvement in the reference antenna directivity gain. In addition, parallel to the increase in the directivity gain of the reference antenna, the HPBW is also found to be decreasing as an evidence of increase in the directivity.Finally, an offset horn feed parabolic reflector antenna operating at 29.75 GHz Ka band transmitter frequency, is designed, simulated and the directivity radiation pattern is plotted. Yüzyıllardır hakkında çok farklı araştırmalar yapılan ve tabiatta var olan düzenin bir parçası olan yıldırım enerjisinden faydalanmak için farklı metotlar geliştirilmiştir. Çok kuvvetli bir akım olan yıldırımı direk olarak depolayıp kullanmak şimdiye kadar mümkün olmamıştır. Fakat yıldırım akımını dolaylı yollarla kullanmak için farklı fikirler yürütülmüştür. Yıldırım akımıyla açığa çıkan enerji değerini hesaplamak için de birçok farklı deneyler yapılmıştır. Örneğin Amerika'nın Florida eyaletinde uluslararası yıldırım araştırma merkezi kurulmuş ve uygun şartlarda roket ve metal bir tel yardımıyla yıldırım tetiklenerek etrafındaki elektrik alan yardımıyla yıldırımla açığa çıkan enerjinin tahmini hesabı yapılmaya çalışılmıştır.Bu tezde daha önce yapılan yıldırım enerjisinin tahmini değerleri özetle verildi. Yıldırım yolu empedansı modeliyle ATP programında yıldırımın yükte oluşturduğu gerilim, anlık güç ve enerji değerleri yıldırım akımının üç farklı yarılanma süresine göre analiz edildi. Different methods were developed for centuries for using lightning energy that has been made many kind of researchs about and is the part of the nature system. Using the energy of lightning which is a very large amount of current wasn?t possible directly until now. But many different ideas carried out by different academics about using this current indirectly and many different experiments were made to measure the energy that occur after lightning. International Lightning Research Center was established at Florida (USA) and lightning was triggered by a metal wire and a rocket to estimate the energy due to electric field arround the stroke point.In this thesis the estimation that has been made formerly for lightning energy was summarized. Voltage, instantaneous power and energy of lightning on the load was analyzed by using lightning path impedance model on ATP program. Three different half-time were used. Then a voltage that induced by a rocket-triggered lightning was thought. An analysis was made on three diferent values for this induced voltage. The effects of the heights of conductives and distance between conductives on the coupling voltage were simulated on MATLAB program. 85
