Significant and unexpected changes need to be anticipated by all teachers, especially when facing difficult situations in the learning process. This study aims to determine the mediating role of attitude in the correlation between creativity and curiosity regarding the performance of outstanding science teachers. A quantitative causal method was used which involves 100 teachers that were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Collection of research data using four questionnaire instruments with a Likert-scaled were derived from the existing grand theory and met the psychometric properties as a suitable instrument to use. Multiple regression analysis is used to identify the relationship between these variables. The results of the data analysis showed that the creativity affects attitude directly and attitude also affects performance. Other results show that curiosity has a direct effect on performance and has no indirect effect on performance. Meanwhile, other results also explained that the investigated variables are positively correlated with the outstanding science teachers. The results of the study concluded that attitude can act as an effective mediator in the relationship between creativity and performance. Creativity and curiosity are important variables to support the performance of outstanding science teachers. The limitations of this study and discussions were subsequently explained in this article.

The objective of the present work is to estimate the performance of a turbojet engine during Fluidic Thrust Vectoring (FTV) employed by injecting the secondary-jet at the throat of a convergent nozzle. The nozzle performance maps and effective nozzle throat area obtained from experiments are coupled with the performance of a conventional engine (without FTV) using an iterative algorithm developed as a part of this work. The performance is estimated for different flow rates of secondary-jet sourced either from a separate compressor or the engine’s compressor. During FTV, the operating point shifted towards the surge line with increased turbine entry temperature. The desired and obtained vector angles and thrust magnitudes are different. At high secondary-jet flow rates, the turbine operation moved out of its performance map. These aspects should be incorporated while integrating the FTV at the system level, thus, asserting the importance of FTV studies coupled with engine performance.

Vigna mungo generally called as black gram is a nutrient food crop which is widely used in Indian cuisine and also used in traditional ayurvedic medicine. By natural and anthropogenic activities, black gram growth is highly affecting by heavy metal pollution. Hence, it is necessary to conduct the experiments to know the effects of various heavy metals on growth of black gram in turn yield levels. In the current study, we aimed to study the in vitro effects of heavy metals such as chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co) and lead (Pb) on germination of seeds and seedling morphology of black gram. The concentrations include 1, 10, 20, 50 and 100 ppm of respective heavy metal (Cr, Cd, Co and Pb) along with the two positive controls i.e. tap water (T.W) and distilled water (D.W) were used without any heavy metal for the preparation of media. Upon treatment, percentage of germination and both root and shoot lengths of black gram were significantly affected by increasing concentrations of cadmium, cobalt and lead when compared to controls. Specifically, germination percentage was reduced from 1 ppm to 100 ppm i.e. 77% to 46% with Cd, 64% to 50 % with Co and 78% to 70 % with Pb treatments. This data indicates that each heavy metal has its own impact on black gram seed germination. Similarly, shoot and root lengths were also reduced upon these heavy metal treatments. Although the percentage of germination decreased drastically (36% at 100 ppm) along with the increasing concentration of chromium, the root and shoot lengths were suddenly increased (hugely root length) when compared to controls. In conclusion, each heavy metal has its own critical point for each seedling or plant growth.

Turbines remain one of the most efficient devices for extracting energy from a flowing fluid. In a gas turbine engine, axial flow turbines are used to extract energy from the working fluid and drive the compressor, to which they are mechanically connected. To maximize the performance of the axial flow turbine, it is necessary to carry out a design optimization of the components while suitably accounting for losses generated by secondary flows. An axial flow turbine rig is designed, fabricated, and installed to better understand and improve upon secondary flow models used in design procedures. The rig is driven by a blower operating at a constant speed, capable of delivering a maximum airflow rate of 0.4 kg/s and a maximum pressure rise of 500 mbar across the device. The axial flow turbine is mechanically connected to a dynamometer capable of operating at a full load capacity of 5 kW and a maximum rotational speed of 10,000 RPM. The axial flow turbine, housed between the blower and dynamometer, consists of nozzle guide vanes followed by a rotor. The design pressure ratio is chosen as 1.04, based on the blower delivery conditions and dynamometer specifications. For an initial design, a low-pressure ratio low rotor speed design was selected, allowing for easy installation and testing of the rotating components. The design space for the axial flow turbine was generated by varying flow and geometrical parameters in suitable steps, using a program written in MATLAB 2020a. Using the input variables and applying free vortex theory for three-dimensional blade design, the aerodynamic design of the axial flow turbine was carried out. The axial flow turbine design is experimentally tested with suitable pressure measurements at every station. Experiments are conducted for four different air mass flow rates. At each air mass flow, the rotor speed is varied by increasing/decreasing the dynamometer load. The data is recorded and compared with the design point. The difference between the design and measured performance parameters is observed to be within acceptable limits.
