Son yirmi yılda, nadir toprak elementlerinin uygulamaları ve kullanımı önemli ölçüde artmıştır. Nadir kaynak elementlerine ve yer kabuğundaki zengin cevher eksikliğine rağmen nadir toprak elementlerinin uygulama alanı çok geniştir. Nadir topraklardan biri olan lantan, endüstrinin birçok dalında kullanılmaktadır. Lantan, monazit [(Ce, La, Nd, Th) PO4] ve bastnasit [(Ce, La) CO3] F gibi diğer seryum grubu elementleri gibi nadir minerallerde bulunur. Bu nedenle lantanı cevherden ve bazı endüstriyel atıklardan arıtmak ve geri kazanmak gereklidir. Çalışmada, bir nadir toprak elementi olan lantanın seyreltik sulu çözeltilerden ayrılmasında; trioktilamin (TOA), Tribütil fosfat (TBP), Trioktilfosfin oksit (TOPO) organik ekstraktantlar ve diatomit kullanılarak Ca-aljinat kompozit küreciklerinin sentezlenmesi, hazırlanan aljinat biyokompozit adsorbanların karakterizasyonu yapılmıştır. Seyreltik sulu çözeltilerden La(III) iyonlarının adsopsiyonu incelenmiştir. Çalışma sırasında Na-aljinat ve diatomit karışımına farklı konsantrasyonlarda TBP (%1-%10), TOPO (0,005M-0,09M) ve TOA (%1-%10) organik ekstaktantlar ilave edilerek aljinat kompozitler hazırlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, lantanın standart çözeltileri kullanılarak adsorpsiyonda etkili olabilen parametrelerin etkileri (çözelti pH, temas süresi, metal konsantrasyonu, yabancı iyon etkisi ve sıcaklık parametreleri) ayrı ayrı geniş bir çalışma aralığında incelenmiş, elde edilen verilerin adsorpsiyon izotermlerine uygunluğu araştırılmıştır. Tri oktil amin (TOA), diatomitten oluşan aljinat kompozit adsorbanın sulu çözeltilerden Lantan (III) iyonu için maksimum alım kapasitesi Q (mg/g): 146.4 olarak, seyreltik çözeltilerdeki adsorpsiyon verimi ise %97.18 olarak tespit edilmiştir., In the past four decades, the applications and the usage of rare earth elements have grown considerably. The application area of rare earth elements is very wide despite the rare sources and lack of rich ores in the earth crust. Lanthanum, one of the rare earths, is now used in many branches of industry. Lanthanum is found in rare minerals such as other cerium group elements such as monazite [(Ce, La, Nd, Th) PO4] and bastnasite [(Ce, La) CO3] F. For this reason, it is necessary to recover lanthanum from the ore and to separate and purify it from some industrial wastes. In this study, synthesis of Ca-alginate composite beads using trioctylamine (TOA), tributyl phosphate (TBP), trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO) organic extractants and diatomite was performed and characterization of prepared alginate biocomposite adsorbents were performed for the separation of lantanium, a rare earth element, from dilute aqueous solutions. Adsorption of La (III) ions from dilute aqueous solutions was investigated. During the study, alginate composites were prepared by adding different concentrations of TBP (1% -10%), TOPO (0.005M-0,09M) and TOA (1% -10%) organic extractants to the mixture of Naalginate and diatomite. For this purpose, the effects of the parameters that can be effective in adsorption (such as solution pH, contact time, metal concentration, foreign ion effect and temperature) were investigated separately using standard solutions of lanthanum and the suitability of the obtained data to adsorption isotherms was investigated. The maximum uptake capacity of the alginate composite adsorbent consisting of octyl amine (TOA), diatomide for Lanthanum (III) ion from aqueous solutions was determined as Q (mg/g): 146.4 and adsorption efficiency in dilute solutions was determined as 97.18%.
