Digital tools play a crucial role in education as they improve access to information, motivate knowledge acquisition, personalize learning, promote collaboration, and provide appropriate feedback. Thus, the objective of this article was to segment and characterize the population of Bogota and its surrounding municipalities regarding academic levels and other demographic variables, taking the use of digital tools and connectivity into consideration. CRISP-DM was selected as the methodology for implementing decision trees for modeling anonymized micro-data from the 2021 Multipurpose Survey, for which the National Administrative Department of Statistics was the field operator. The sample was composed of 278,023 people, representing a universe of 9,248,000 people in total. The descriptive analysis showed the association of demographic variables, the use of information technology and communication, employment, and revenue over academic levels. Subsequently, with the identified variables, the decision tree evidenced, with a correct classification percentage of 82,8%, that those people who have a high academic level tend to be older than 28 years old, spend a significant amount of money on technology devices, and software, have at least one place to access the internet and use it for educational purposes. Since the reliability of the avionics module is crucial for aircraft safety, the fault diagnosis and health management of this module are particularly significant. While deep learning-based prognostics and health management (PHM) methods exhibit highly accurate fault diagnosis, they have disadvantages such as inefficient data feature extraction and insufficient generalization capability, as well as a lack of avionics module fault data. Consequently, this study first employs fault injection to simulate various fault types of the avionics module and performs data enhancement to construct the P2020 communications processor fault dataset. Subsequently, a multichannel fault diagnosis method, the Hybrid Attention Adaptive Multi-scale Temporal Convolution Network (HAAMTCN) for the integrated functional circuit module of the avionics module, is proposed, which adaptively constructs the optimal size of the convolutional kernel to efficiently extract features of avionics module fault signals with large information entropy. Further, the combined use of the Interaction Channel Attention (ICA) module and the Hierarchical Block Temporal Attention (HBTA) module results in the HAAMTCN to pay more attention to the critical information in the channel dimension and time step dimension. The experimental results show that the HAAMTCN achieves an accuracy of 99.64% in the avionics module fault classification task which proves our method achieves better performance in comparison with existing methods. Heterovalent ion doping has been playing a remarkably significant role in the microwave dielectric performances of columbite A2+Nb 2 O 6 (A2+ = Zn, Ca, or transition metal). Here, the Q × f value of MgNb 2 O 6 ceramics can be effectively enhanced from 32,893 GHz to 117,659 GHz by doping with 1 mol% (TiW)5+. Based on the high Q value of Mg(Nb 0.98 Ti 0.01 W 0.01) 2 O 6 , TiO 2 was selected to further adjust the τ f value of the matrix material prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction method. The results show that the Mg(Nb 0.98 Ti 0.01 W 0.01) 2 O 6 ceramics undergo three phase zones with increasing TiO 2 content: columbite (MgNb 2 O 6) solid solution, a mixture of columbite and rutile (Ti 0.5 Mg 0.167 Nb 0.333 O 2), and Ti 0.5 Mg 0.167 Nb 0.333 O 2 solid solution. This variation in phase formation has an essential effect on the microwave dielectric behavior of Mg(Nb 0.98 Ti 0.01 W 0.01) 2 O 6 @xTiO 2 (0.03 ≤ x ≤ 0.25) ceramics. It is important to note that at x = 0.17, the specimen has excellent microwave dielectric performances, with ε r = 34.79, Q × f = 24,103 GHz, and the τ f of the specimen may be adjust to zero. The China–Europe Railway Express (CRE) has attracted and fostered low-carbon, export-oriented manufacturing industry sectors; thus, it could reduce carbon dioxide emissions through the manufacturing industry substitution effect. To verify this new mechanism, this study focuses on a specific case, namely, Chongqing's electronic and telecommunications equipment (ETE) manufacturing industry, as this sector is a low-carbon industry promoted by the CRE. This study proposes a novel detour estimation strategy for causal identification of the environmental externality of the CRE on carbon dioxide emissions. The results show that the CRE could contribute to an increase of 567.06 billion yuan in ETE exports from Chongqing to Europe and a consequent reduction of 17.10 million tons of carbon dioxide between 2011 and 2021. After the native population of Oriental stork (Ciconia boyciana) in Japan disappeared, a reintroduction project was implemented in 2005. All released storks and most wild-fledged storks were individually identified using colored rings on their legs. The size of the reintroduced population reached 256 by the end of 2021. In this study, we investigated the causes of stork injury and death in wild populations to clarify important medical issues for successful reintroduction. During the survey, 153 of 412 (78 released and 334 fledged storks) storks were injured or died between 2005 and 2021. At least 49.7% of the injuries and deaths were directly caused by human activities. Entanglement with pest control measures (such as bird- and beast-proofing nets) and accident with electrical and telecommunication equipment are two major causes of injury and death of reintroduced Oriental storks in Japan. It is important to recognize that these anthropogenic threats have a significant impact on the establishment and maintenance of the reintroduced populations of Oriental storks in Japan. The global manufacturing landscape is undergoing a profound shift, and the paradigm of service-led industrial evolution has taken on paramount importance. Service-oriented manufacturing has emerged as a pivotal conduit for the transformation and elevation of China's sporting goods manufacturing sector. However, we acknowledge that the current state of service-oriented transformation in this sector is still in an embryonic phase. The nuanced interplay between the level of servitization and its consequent impact on corporate performance, along with the intricate forms of interference exerted by various factors in the process of servitization, are shrouded in ambiguity. This article, which is predicated upon the financial disclosures of China's sporting goods manufacturing enterprises listed on the A-share and New Third Board markets, presents a rigorous investigation. Through the construction of an imbalanced panel dataset covering the period of 2007 to 2022, we embark on an empirical journey examining the intricacies of a moderated mediation model to ascertain the mechanisms underlying the influence of servitization on the performance of sporting goods manufacturing entities. Through this research, we unearth a compelling revelation: (1) Within the cohort of sampled enterprises, an elevation of servitization evokes a modest suppressive effect on corporate performance, thus resulting in the enigmatic "servitization paradox." (2) A total of 29.1% of the servitization impact on enterprise performance is achieved through marketing intensity; that is, there is a partial mediating effect of marketing intensity on the relationship between servitization and enterprise performance. (3) Market power play a negative regulatory role in this relationship, which drives the servitization paradox in sporting goods manufacturing but can also promote the positive impact of servitization on marketing intensity. In addition, with the expansion of market power, corporate servitization does not need to impact corporate performance through marketing activities. (4) R&D intensity negatively affects the relationship between marketing intensity and corporate performance, promotes the inhibitory effect of marketing intensity on corporate performance, and aggravates the inhibitory effect of servitization on corporate performance through marketing intensity. Although digital processors offer high computing accuracy, they suffer enormously from lengthy execution times and high energy consumption as a result of the numerous communications between the processors and storage units. The disadvantage is especially acute when performing data-intensive operations, such as deep neural networks and matrix operations. To address this, several novel ideas and devices for implementing in-memory computing have been proposed. One of them is the memristor. Because of their scalability, nonvolatility, and analog storage characteristics, memristors have considerable potential and have achieved some encouraging research results. An eigenpair estimation method and a memristor-based crossbar structure are presented in this paper. The method differs from conventional computers in that the execution is carried out with the least number of controls and data transfers as possible. Almost all of the desired outcomes can be attributed to fundamental physical laws, such as Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's law. This method is then applied to principal component analysis (PCA) in the end. Background: Today, using the medical technology of telecardiology, as part of advanced medical services, plays an essential role in providing care to cardiac patients in life-threatening conditions who need emergency care. However, pre-hospital emergency care personnel are faced with certain challenges in using telecardiology, with adverse effects on their performance. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the challenges to using telecardiology as viewed by pre-hospital emergency care personnel in Southern Iran. Methods: The present study is a qualitative work of research with a content analysis approach. Selected using purposeful sampling, 19 pre-hospital emergency care personnel were interviewed on a semi-structured, personal, in-depth basis. The qualitative data obtained were analyzed using the Graneheim and Lundman's conventional content analysis approach (2004). Results: Based on the qualitative data analysis, 3 themes and 8 subthemes were obtained. The three main themes included professional barriers (lack of clinical knowledge of telecardiology, lack of clinical skill in telecardiology, violation of patients' privacy, lack of clinical guidelines on telecardiology), medical equipment and telecommunication barriers (poor reception and ineffective means of communication, low charge on the battery of tele-electrocardiogram machines), and organizational management barriers (serious lack of cardiologists available for medical counseling and lack of continual personal development of the telecardiology personnel). Conclusion: Senior managers in pre-hospital emergency care services are recommended to use the results of this study to identify the influential factors in using telecardiology and take the necessary measures to eliminate the existing barriers toward making optimal use of telemedicine, thereby improving the quality of care provided for cardiac patients. In promising data transmission systems, new management solutions can be used, for example, we can divide network elements into network layers or implement network elements in the form of virtual network functions. In promising networks, regional centers are software controllers that control local sensors. All control centers are interconnected through a transport subsystem and are included in one network. Sensors provide monitoring of the ability of various types of traffic. One of the most important tasks of traffic management is its filtering. In promising systems, this problem is solved on network sensors by implementing algorithms for matching traffic information and filtering rules. The article proposes an approach to using the concept of software-configurable networks and virtualization of network functions to implement a traffic management system in promising mobile networks. It is proposed to use switches based on the OpenFlow protocol as network sensors. The article also proposes a method for processing and filtering traffic in transport networks, which is implemented in the form of a set of libraries and drivers for interacting network elements directly with applications, which reduces the search time for the necessary rules on telecommunications equipment. RISC-V set architecture is playing an increasingly important role in processor technology due to its open instructions which allow researchers to build and improve computing systems. However, many RISC-V architectures exist in multi-core architecture with complex designs, large area, and high-power consumption. This paper studies an open-source multi-core RISC-V processor in a simple design with less power consumption. The processor depends on an open-source single RISC-V core processor, Taiga. Two cores of Taiga are integrated on a single chip while addressing issues related to cache coherence, interconnect, and memory design. A solution has been developed to achieve data coherence between implemented caches and the main memory; its architecture depends on the snoopy protocol. A hardware-customized peripheral unit has been implemented to achieve the management process among operated cores' tasks. For more consistent and highly controlled memory storage, the main memory unit has been designed in dual-port based on a specific protocol in the interface, and 8192 lines and word addressable unit. As the UART is common in several devices and processors for communication, the UART as a peripheral customized device has been appended for communication with other devices. The processor has been implemented in System Verilog HDL and extensively tested on various testbenches to ensure correct functionality. Hence, the system performance has been evaluated using the CoreMark benchmark, and achieved 4.605 CoreMark/MHz on Zedboard (FPGA Xilinx family) with a maximum operating frequency 98 MHz. The results indicate that the processor performs comparably to state-of-the-art multi-core processors, while offering a simpler and more power-efficient design. Neuromorphic computing is an emerging field with the potential to offer performance and energy-efficiency gains over traditional machine learning approaches. Most neuromorphic hardware, however, has been designed with limited concerns to the problem of integrating it with other components in a heterogeneous System-on-Chip (SoC). Building on a state-of-the-art reconfigurable neuromorphic architecture, we present the design of a neuromorphic hardware accelerator equipped with a programmable interface that simplifies both the integration into an SoC and communication with the processor present on the SoC. To optimize the allocation of on-chip resources, we develop an optimizer to restructure existing neuromorphic models for a given hardware architecture, and perform design-space exploration to find highly efficient implementations. We conduct experiments with various FPGA-based prototypes of many-accelerator SoCs, where Linux-based applications running on a RISC-V processor invoke Pareto-optimal implementations of our accelerator alongside third-party accelerators. These experiments demonstrate that our neuromorphic hardware, which is up to 89x faster and 170x more energy efficient after applying our optimizer, can be used in synergy with other accelerators for different application purposes. An Instructional Processor has been developed as a design example in an Advanced Digital Systems course. The architecture is modelled in VHDL and can be simulated using Xilinx design tools. A basic microcontroller is created by adding memory-mapped input/output (I/O). The hardware system can be synthesized and implemented on a field programmable gate array (FPGA). The goal of this project was to add serial communication capabilities via software and a hardware UART (universal asynchronous receiver transmitter). The design allows direct access to the UART data registers (receive and transmit), status register (flags), and control register (baud rate). Test programs, written in assembly language, were used to verify the communication protocol and timing via VHDL simulation. The FPGA microcontroller was able to communicate with serial devices at various baud rates. Network-on-Chip (NoC) is widely adopted in neuromorphic processors to support communication between neurons in spiking neural networks (SNNs). However, SNNs generate enormous spiking packets due to the one-to-many traffic pattern. The spiking packets may cause communication pressure on NoC. We propose a path-based multicast routing method to alleviate the pressure. Firstly, all destination nodes of each source node on NoC are divided into several clusters. Secondly, multicast paths in the clusters are created based on the Hamiltonian path algorithm. The proposed routing can reduce the length of path and balance the communication load of each router. Lastly, we design a lightweight microarchitecture of NoC, which involves a customized multicast packet and a routing function. We use six datasets to verify the proposed multicast routing. Compared with unicast routing, the running time of path-based multicast routing achieves 5.1x speedup, and the number of hops and the maximum transmission latency of path-based multicast routing are reduced by 68.9% and 77.4%, respectively. The maximum length of path is reduced by 68.3% and 67.2% compared with the dual-path (DP) and multi-path (MP) multicast routing, respectively. This research explores the specific parts of constant exchange conflict between the US and China, with a particular interest on its implications for the global economic politics. The world supply chain has been significantly disrupted as a result of the trade dispute, which has been marked by a series of tariff impositions and retaliatory measures that have impacted a variety of industries. The trade war has made cybersecurity risks, forced technology transfers, and theft of intellectual property even more of a concern. Prices have gone up and supply chain blockages have occurred as a result of tariffs imposed by both nations on essential technological goods like consumer electronics, telecommunications equipment, and semiconductors. Call Detail Record (CDR) is the detailed record of all the telephonic calls that pass through a telephone exchange or any other telecommunications equipment. It contains temporal and spatial data, and can also convey other information that would be helpful to the user. Large numbers of vehicles on roads creates substantial traffic, which makes it very difficult to maintain safety and control traffic especially in the urban areas. Several works were carried out in the past to estimate the traffic density. However, they were inappropriate and quite expensive, owing to the dynamics of the traffic flow. This paper proposes the use of CDR data to find the high traffic density zones (HTDZs). For prediction purpose, we mine the frequent patterns from CDR data to find the co-occurrence of the position associated with a mobile user. In addition, Recurrent neural Networks (RNN) using LSTM (Long Short-term memory) are used for the time series prediction. The proposed system helps the whole public not only the registered users by decreasing the accident rates. Statistical performance evaluation integrated with time series causality is done for the proposed system. The proposed system is evaluated over standard data sets and an accuracy of 96% is achieved and a root mean square value was obtained as 3.84 during prediction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Distributed computing workflow is an effective paradigm to express a range of applications with cloud computing platforms for scientific research explorations. One of the most difficult application areas of cloud computing technology is task scheduling. In a cloud, heterogeneous context, job scheduling with minimal execution cost and time, as well as workflow reliability, are critical. While working in the heterogeneous cloud environment, tasks that are successfully executed are widely identified by considering the failure of the processor or any communication technologies link. It will also have an impact on the workflow's reliability as well as the user's service quality expectations. This research paper proposes a Critical Parent Reliability-based Scheduling (CPRS) method that uses the reliability parameter to plan the task while taking into account the user-defined cost and deadline metrics. The effectiveness of the algorithm is compared to current algorithms utilizing scientific workflows as a benchmark, such as Cybershake, Sipht, and Montage. The simulation results supported the assertions by efficiently allocating resources to the cloudlets and stabilizing all of the aforementioned parameters using sufficient performance metrics growth. Currently, electronic waste (e-waste) is grossly overproduced and only a few recycling programs exist. Improper e-waste destinations have a negative impact on the environment and human health because they contain several potentially toxic substances. Scientific publications on this topic have also grown over the years, necessitating a systematic literature review to identify trends and gaps in research. We performed a systematic review of the scientific literature on the toxic effects of e-waste and its adverse environmental impacts. We searched the literature using the Web of Science and Scopus databases, and 335 articles were selected after applying the exclusion criteria. The e-waste class most studied in the articles was the small IT and Telecommunication equipment, and the trashes most cited were cell phones, printed circuit boards, and liquid crystal display (LCD) panels. The heavy metals most associated with toxicity were Pb and Cd, whereas polybrominated diphenyl ethers were the most cited organic components. In addition, we identified the different uses of bioassays to evaluate the toxic potential of e-waste in soil and water. In contrast, a few articles introduced alternative strategies for e-waste toxicity by bioremediation and educational research. Regarding human exposure, all articles demonstrated the hazardous effect of e-waste on health; however, studies include methodological difficulties, such as short-term surveys with a few volunteers, various pollutants, and different evaluated endpoints. These data gaps in the evaluation of exposure and long-term effects will narrow when collaborative studies including distinct fields are published, and the involvement of government agencies will regulate the production, discard, and recycle electronic wastes. Telecommunication systems have become a critical part of society which enables connectivity to many essential and trivial services. Consequently, telecommunication equipment is housed in cabinets to protect the electronics from a variety of hazards; one of which is temperature-related failure. Current practices use a notable amount of power for the thermal management of telecommunication cabinets which can be reduced by considering alternative methods of cooling. In this paper, experiments were carried out to investigate the effectiveness of different internal mounting configurations of electronic components on the thermal performance of a telecommunication cabinet. The investigation tested inclinations (0–90°), different staggered offsets (0–50 mm), changing stream-wise spacing (29–108 mm), and fan speed (with a Reynolds number in the range of 1604 to 5539). The experimental study revealed that heat transfer was enhanced by 9.99 % by altering component inclination to 90°, 25.90% by increasing stream-wise spacing from 29 mm to 108 mm, and 36.02% by increasing the Reynolds number from 1604 to 5539. However, the staggered arrangement of internal components decreased N u by 3.26% for the natural convection condition but increased by 5.69% for the forced convection condition over the tested range and increasing the centre offset of the staggered components with respect to the cabinet did not influence N u in any significant manner. Natural convection and forced convection also had notable influence on the heat transfer rate. Hence it was seen that alternative internal configurations positively influence heat transfer in telecommunication cabinets for the cases studied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We propose a data-driven framework to increase the computational efficiency of the explicit finite element method in the structural analysis of soft tissue. An encoder–decoder long short-term memory deep neural network is trained based on the data produced by an explicit, distributed finite element solver. We leverage this network to predict synchronized displacements at shared nodes, minimizing the amount of communication between processors. Fiber performance monitoring using modern online technologies in the next generation of intelligent optical networks allows for identifying the source of the degeneration and putting in protective steps to increase remote optical network stability & reliability. In this paper, the performance of the fiber performance monitoring tool (FPMT) technique was improved by integrating it with optical amplifier boards. In this regard, the improved technique detects optical layer events and all fiber soft and hard failures at the online remote rather than disrupting the data flow with a measurement accuracy for defect location of up to ~99.9%, small tolerance of up to ~1 m, the longest distance to detecting optical line defects of up to ~300km, and enhanced power budget for the system with optimum insertion-loss of up to ~0.0 dB. The proposed integration method provides better results with an excellent and efficient solution at fault location measurement & detection in real-time with good financial implications of the technique. The competitiveness of the improved technique over the actual optical networks has been successfully confirmed through application to Huawei labs infrastructure nodes and displayed experimental simulation results. In view of the current new energy vehicles only implement torque control on the drive motor, resulting in the engine speed fluctuation, affecting the vehicle running stability and reducing the engine efficiency and energy saving effect, a new energy vehicle engine speed control method based on Internet of vehicles technology is proposed. The battery and operation data are obtained through the sensor of the new energy vehicle Internet of vehicles, and the data are controlled and transmitted by the controller area network. The overall external dynamic characteristics of the engine are analyzed by using the average value model. According to the principle of engine dynamic system, the throttle intake manifold model, combustion torque model and power output sub model are constructed respectively. The speed is controlled by double working points According to the variable parameter PID control of the engine, the load prediction is introduced to optimize the speed control, and the internal pressure value of the accumulator is obtained through the SOP value to realize the speed control of the new energy vehicle engine. As software products increasingly become part of larger ecosystems, research and development (R&D) units of software producers organize themselves around projects to become more responsive to the environment. Organizations participating in software ecosystems must continuously adapt and adjust their software development and maintenance processes to drive both medium-term and long-term innovation. Agile methods and practices are widely adopted to guide the collaboration within and between project teams in software development. Moreover, when successfully attained, agility can drive innovation by enabling software development organizations to cope with technological changes and exploit emerging opportunities in software ecosystems. In this article, we focus on how organizations attain agility in the maintenance and development of software products. To answer this question, we conduct a longitudinal case study of Agile Scrum implementation in the R&D unit of a major supplier of telecommunication equipment. We investigate the emerging tensions and highlight practices used to balance these tensions in the Agile Scrum implementation. We identify four capabilities and ten practices that support effective collaboration and coordination in the development and maintenance of software products. Device association (DA) and pairing (DP) are presented in this letter to evaluate the fairness of different services between enhanced mobile broadband devices (eMBBDs) and ultrareliability low latency communications devices (uRLLCDs) in RAN-slicing, which has emerged as a viable technique for enhancing total network throughput in heterogeneous cellular networks (HCNs) design. To optimize the eMBBDs' downlink (DL) sum rate while fulfilling the provisions of the uRLLC traffic. A cooperative Nash bargaining solution (NBS) is formulated to depict the association method. First, base stations (BSs) create random pairings between heterogeneous non-orthogonal multi-access (H-NOMA) devices. The BSs are classified into coalitions through the Hungarian approach. So, a two-band partition algorithm is evolved for the two BSs in each coalition to negotiate their allocated devices to improve the NBS utility. A multiplayer bargaining approach is constructed using this algorithm and the Hungarian technique. After finishing the DA process, we study the cooperative matching algorithm to optimize the pairing problem between devices' slices. Simulation results demonstrate that comparing the proposed approach to other schemes can achieve a significant DL rate distribution for eMBBDs, device-side latency for uRLLCDs, and fairness improvements.
