Through a narrativization that connects heterogeneous and often undetected social lives in Bogotá, Colombia, this article charts the rhizomatic spatial crossings of continuously mobile urban trajectories, the often-unsettled forms of dwelling that they inhabit, and their capacity to make place despite the dismantling of community cohesion and the necropolitical forms of urbanity operated by racial capitalism and coloniality across Latin America – what the article refers to as relational territories, drawing on a rich scholarship on Black Geographies of the everyday and Latin American ‘territorios’. From there, the article explores how paths are being charted out of the racial-colonial maze of Latin America’s city-making, through multiple forms of ordinary resistance/re-existence that create life in the interstices of ongoing necro-politics . Ultimately, the article shows how this pluralistic repertoire mobilized from the urban margins not only points to the difficulties of emplacement for Afro-descendant dwellers in Latin American cities but also to the possibility of respatialising the urban from the decolonial relationality of Améfrica. This article integrates the affective and intellectual dimensions of our relationship with Carlos Walter Porto-Gonçalves, regarded here as a great geographer of action, both in terms of the concrete actions of social groups and movements and the transformative action of emotions. In this way, multiple territorialities (or multiterritorialities) are constructed between feeling/listening, thinking/expressing, and geographical actions, in the dialogue between Carlos Walter's rich contributions and our own work, particularly concerning territory as a process in the "conduct of conduct" that encompasses not only traditional politics but also its expansion into the realm of the "more-than-human," which increasingly impacts and (de)territorializes us. The ways of inhabiting the Abya Ayala have been under pressure since the processes of colonization and invasion, impacting on people's ways of life in their territories. In this sense, their geo-graphies have been written as resistance, based on reappropriations and struggles rooted in geographical modes of existence, such as geographicity. The Salsipuedes-La Lacranera-San Isirodo river dwellers in the Calca Valley (Colombia), as peasants, express this re-existence in their way of dealing with the land, water and mountains. This article reflects research carried out between 2018 and 2022 with the river dwellers, analyzing their practices and way of living as an expression of hydropoetics that become hydropolitics of confrontation and struggle for land. Objective/context: 1is work seeks to generate interpretations around a particular form of registration: photographic albums of leisure and vacation travel in Argentina around the mid-twentieth century. We study travel albums as an object that, through representational practices, allows for re#ecting on the subjectivities and sensibilities of personal and public memory. Methodology: We use a qualitative methodology, understanding that the photographic collection gathered in an album is a cultural practice that reveals the values of those who create, preserve, and manipulate it and also of those who interpret it and give it meaning. 1e starting point is a limited corpus of albums from private collections, some acquired in antique shops and others lent for study by families who kept them in their collections. Creative variations may appear in them, as photographs, maps, tickets, and words coexist, traces that generate an intertext of discourses. Originality: Although there are some works related to family albums in Argentina and some approaches to travel photographs in general, the presence of speci!c research on travel photographic albums is fragmented, which is the subject of this article. Conclusions: 1e !nal re#ections consider that travel photo albums have a powerful social and cultural relevance because, in their interpretation, other stories of the known history can be contributed, in which emotions and individual and private motivations can be perceived, as well as the creation of national, collective, and public representations. Based on the selection of three neighbourhoods in the municipality of Madrid with different characteristics: a middle-class neighbourhood, a central historic district undergoing change and a vulnerable neighbourhood, this study analyses the diversity and complexity of ties and attachments in the local space using qualitative methodology. The differential characteristics of each of these neighborhoods allow the various manifestations of the sense of belonging and the way in which residents develop meaningful connections with their local environment to be examined. Special attention is paid to the dynamics of social interaction, local support, neighbourhood solidarity, the practices through which individuals build their identity and find stability based on these ties and also to the way in which female leadership affects these processes. This analysis allows us to better understand how people, despite increasing individualisation and changes in traditional social structures, and in a context of permanent change and uncertainty, still value community ties of varying intensity that provide them with a certain sense of anchorage. Este artigo é um recorte dos resultados de uma pesquisa de mestrado do Programa de Pós-graduação em Sociedades e Fronteiras da Universidade Federal de Roraima (UFRR). No texto descreve-se de forma relacional o processo de mobilidade de um grupo de indígenas venezuelanos do povo E´ñepá em um “ir e vir” entre territórios de origem e outros territórios locais, nacionais e internacionais. Os resultados fornecem evidência das altas dinâmicas de mobilidade e das formas de ocupação do espaço. O referencial teórico metodológico enquadra-se dentro dos estudos atuais da mobilidade humana contemporânea, focados nas subjetividades dos participantes contextualmente situados em tempo e espaço, no caráter multidimensional, multidirecional e interdisciplinar das categorias território e espaço, assim como no vínculo que estabelecem memória e identidade a favor de processos de reconstrução social, luta, resistência e emancipação. Ao final, apresentam-se as considerações finais das análises dos dados construídos mediante três histórias de vida e uma oficina de elaboração de mapas sociais.

Los espacios sagrados son realidades cambiantes que están profundamente relacionadas con el lugar donde se construyen. La presencia de preestructuras, el desgaste material, el impacto de la naturaleza y la mano humana, así como la necesidad de adaptarlas a nuevos usos, son factores esenciales para entender las distintas capas que estas arquitecturas encierran y transportan simultáneamente a través del tiempo. Partiendo del estudio de caso de la iglesia parroquial de São João Batista da Foz do Douro, el objetivo es demostrar la necesidad de reflexionar sobre los espacios sagrados como realidades sujetas a devenir. La reinterpretación y reconstitución de esta iglesia a lo largo de la diacronía es posible gracias al cruce de fuentes escritas y huellas materiales.

A fines del siglo XIX la producción de carne se tecnificó gracias a la invención del frío artificial. Este avance tecnológico propició el surgimiento de una nueva rama en la producción industrial cárnica: la industria de extracto de carne. Para este trabajo nos propusimos explorar el desarrollo diferencial que tuvo esta actividad productiva en el litoral rioplatense, tomando como área de estudio a las provincias de Santa Fe y Entre Ríos, en relación con el río Paraná como vía fluvial internacional. Partimos de la conjetura inicial de la existencia de un contrapunto regional con la industria frigorífica concentrada en el área bonaerense. Y nos centramos en comprobar el supuesto de que esta industria configuró un territorio de la carne enlatada con lógicas propias, en función de una serie de factores determinantes. La metodología adoptada articula el análisis de documentos con el mapeo interpretativo como estrategia para visibilizar la historia territorial de este paisaje productivo.

El turismo y la exportación son actividades cada vez más importantes para la economía de un territorio. Dentro de la exportación, la supervivencia exportadora, entendida como la continuidad en la exportación sin interrupciones ni abandonos, depende en gran medida del valor añadido del producto. En Castilla-La Mancha, la ausencia de valor agregado en el sector vitivinícola es la principal razón de los bajos precios de exportación e imagen negativa. Sin embargo, el enoturismo ofrece una solución a partir de la creación de experiencias singulares originadas en los elementos territoriales, como la historia, la geografía y el modo de producción, cuyos valores intangibles se transmiten a través de la visita a las bodegas. Además, la venta directa al visitante se convierte en una oportunidad de generar ingresos. Este estudio, basado en el análisis de fuentes principalmente económicas, combinando enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos de alcance exploratorio; establece que el valor añadido del vino favorece el enoturismo que, a su vez, tiene un impacto directo en la promoción del vino y repercute en la demanda y los precios, lo que influye en las posibilidades de supervivencia exportadora de las bodegas en regiones que necesitan elementos de promoción y venta como Castilla-La Mancha. El estudio sienta las bases para futuras investigaciones en otras regiones y/o productos.

Composto por cinco seções principais, o artigo almeja, de uma forma introdutória e concisa, oferecer um panorama do tabuleiro político-ideológico e teórico que caracteriza as posições mais significativas a propósito da “crise ambiental” contemporânea. As quatro seções iniciais se destinam a esboçar críticas ao “ambientalismo pró-capital”, ao neofascismo antiecológico, ao ecofascismo e, por fim, às falácias de tipo “pós-moderno”, exemplificadas por algumas das ideias de Bruno Latour. Na quinta seção, finalmente, são apresentados contrapontos emancipatórios aos discursos e práticas mencionados nas seções precedentes, tanto no que tange a contrapontos acadêmicos ou teóricos (oriundos, sobretudo, do marxismo e de correntes libertárias) quanto no que diz respeito a práticas espaciais de resistência (ou, melhor ainda, “r-existência”) dos agentes e sujeitos coletivos, em suas lutas por terra, por território e, em última instância, pela Terra.

The Quintero-Puchuncaví Bay in Chile, has been affected by multiple episodes of anthropogenic contamination caused by companies in the Ventanas Industrial Corridor, making it one of the sacrifice zones in the country. On August 21, 2018, a mass poisoning of children and adolescents occurred, highlighting the dangers of contamination on the population's health at a national level. This qualitative narrative study explores this issue through the health trajectories of five families residing in the area. Information was gathered through family interviews, using art therapy strategies. A thematic narrative analysis of the data was conducted.The results reveal the presence of a range of illnesses spanning at least three generations of the interviewees' families. However, the long-term effects of contamination had not been fully acknowledged until the August 2018 incident, which made them aware of the generational transmission of normalizing this type of poisoning in their life paths. Additionally, the participants identify legal issues in controlling and reducing toxic emissions in the area.

This text raises a series of reflections on how problematic it would be to assume the discourses that seek to outline the current educational system, without sufficient reflection on the conception of the school, the role of the teacher and the territory in the training processes. This is how three parts are structured, in the first, the implications of thinking about the role of the school from emerging paradigms, current demands and its historical role in society are exposed. In the second part, a series of aspects are exposed around the link between reflection and pedagogical practice. To, finally, put on the table the role of the territory in the training processes and how, from the geopedagogy approach, a relevant and valid field can be found from which to think about training and education today. This article addresses the home visit as part of the technical-operative instrument used in the work of social workers, proposing a critical reflection on this instrument, highlighting its historicity, purpose, and consonance with the guidelines of the profession's ethicalpolitical project. In methodological terms, the article is based on a systematic analysis of the profession's literature and legislation, as well as a bibliographical review. The text suggests articulation with the theoretical category of "territory" and reaffirms the need for the use of home visits in professional work to be based on the theoretical references of the profession and aimed at guaranteeing rights. The objective of this proposal is to build a typology that allows analyzing the historical violence inflicted on P'urhépecha women in Cherán and how they are linked to the disputes present in the territory, especially over the appropriation of the forest. We will emphasize the various strategies of struggle and resistance that they have erected to alleviate them and to defend the different forms of life. Over the last few decades, the São Marcos river basin has stood out in terms of productivity from irrigated agriculture. A striking feature is the large number of private dams for water security purposes, in order to guarantee the maintenance of agricultural commodities through the use of center pivots. In functional terms, the dams constitute the structural rationality of the territory, at the same time as they promote water appropriation and the control of its flow, as well as the expansion of territorial power. At the same time, the water reservoir factor is the cause of water conflicts between members of the same productive class: irrigators. In order to analyze this context, the methodology used was a review of the literature and documents, as well as an analysis of data collected in the field. Caucasia, municipality of Bajo Cauca Antioqueño in Colombia, expresses necropolitical and necrocapitalist dynamics that State and illegal actors deploy on the territory and specifically on the Cauca River. This action permeates the daily life and subjectivity of local communities in affective, territorial, identity and memory aspects, which are built in experiences and life trajectories in the territory. This text analyzes from a qualitative approach and social phenomenological method, which, from the experience of six participants, captures some meanings of this tributary. The field work considered interviews and accompaniment to their work in situ. Among the results, local meanings are highlighted, which emerge in the felt experience linked to the river, coexisting and in tension with hegemonic positions of the State and the armed groups. This article analyzes the dispute over the northern part of Antarctica, particularly the Antarctic Peninsula, involving Argentina, Chile, and the United Kingdom, as well as Brazil's sovereign claim, from 2012 to 2022 through the lens of classical geopolitics. It is grounded in a documentary review of treaties, state declarations, specialized literature, and press releases. Employing a qualitative and comparative methodology, the text delineates events between 1938 and 1959, explicating territorial claims and the Antarctic Treaty, which has preserved geopolitical stability until recently when new technological, environmental, and geopolitical challenges emerged. The Andes mountains have been occupied for thousands of years, but the current representation we have of them today is just 500 hundred years old. It was the chroniclers, explorers, conquerors, geographers, and other researchers who, merging their observations and experiences with indigenous stories, shaped the geographical imagination of the Andes. This paper aims to reconstruct that process, starting from the 16th century until the mid-19th century, when the mountain range reached a peak in the geographical imaginary of the world; an imaginary based in a view of totality of nature-society relation. Based on elements derived from humanist geography regarding geographical imagination and representation, the matter is to be developed in three parts: first, a chapter about the initial invention of the Andes perceived from 'over there' that includes the construction of the Andean imaginary of the xvi century; a second section on the transformation of that imaginary in the 18th century; and a chapter that discusses the creation of a nineteenth-century geographical representation largely defined by the extraordinary work of Alexander von Humboldt. The purpose of this text is to analyze the process of heritagization of the historic center of the city of Oaxaca, based on a theoretical and conceptual scaffolding that highlights the overlap between the spatial and cultural dimensions of social life. In this sense, the category of historic center is used as a cognitive tool which expresses a series of material and symbolic practices, which serve to endow a set of values to a space delimited and differentiated from the totality of the city. In methodological terms, a spatio-temporal analysis is used to reconstruct the evolution of the city of Oaxaca, as well as the conformation of its historical centrality. It also resorts to the use of documentary and ethnographic data in order to unveil the discourses and practices developed by the different subjects that produce this space. It is emphasized that the historic center of Oaxaca has been produced as a heritage space of global scale, where a monumentalist vision of the cultural heritage predominates, as well as a valuation and use of it, from a mercantile logic linked to tourist activities. In the COVID-19 pandemic, indigenous peoples in the southeast of Pará faced, among many emergencies, the worsening of territorial violations and precarious health care and education, without depriving them of resilience to frontier capitalism in the region. The information obtained through interviews with indigenous leaders, consultation of official data and those published by the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB), as well as field notes on the performance of the Mutual Support Network to Indigenous Peoples of Southeastern Brazil Pará, highlights the strategic use of the territory for isolation and resurgence of cultural practices, and the formulation of policies to resist the systemic crises aggravated by the fascist national government of the period. Tourism and exporting are increasingly important economic activities for territories. In particular, export survival, understood as continuity in exporting without interruptions or dropouts, depends mostly on the added value of their products. In Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), the absence of added value in the wine sector is identified as the main reason behind the low export prices and the negative image. However, wine tourism offers a solution based on the creation of unique experiences related to the elements of the territory, such as history, geography, and production methods, whose intangible values are transmitted through visits to the wineries. In addition, direct sales during visits become an opportunity for wineries to generate income. This study, based on the analysis of mainly economic sources, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches of an exploratory nature, establishes that the added value of wine favors wine tourism. This, in turn, has a direct impact on the promotion of wine and affects the demand and prices of wines, which influences the chances of export survival of wineries in regions that need promotion and sales elements such a Castilla-La Mancha. Este trabajo se centra en la exploración y confirmación de la existencia de la llamada aceleración azul (entendida como el consumo y empleo intensivos de los recursos oceánicos en el Antropoceno) en los océanos mexicanos durante el periodo que abarca de 1950 a 2018. Mediante la investigación documental de cinco categorías de análisis de naturaleza consuntiva y tres de carácter no consuntivo, se pudo reconocer esta situación. Lo anterior es relevante para alertar sobre el comportamiento de las actividades económicas en este territorio y de las consecuencias ambientales que provocan.

Argentina avanza por los caminos de la transición energética; sin embargo, depende en gran medida de los hidrocarburos para satisfacer sus necesidades. En esto es clave la provincia de Neuquén, cuya trayectoria energética se modela a partir de la explotación de recursos hidrocarburíferos, con la adición de grandes aprovechamientos hidroeléctricos en la década de 1970 y de pequeñas instalaciones de energías renovables en el siglo XXI. Este trabajo analiza un siglo de cambios en las redes energéticas y de transformaciones en los territorios neuquinos, con base en una investigación empírica para la cual se emplearon datos primarios y fuentes secundarias.

Em Paraty/RJ, os territórios das comunidades caiçaras são cobiçados pelo capital, o que tem gerado desterritotialização e impactos ambientais. O papel dessas comunidades em redução de riscos e desastres (RRD) pôde ser percebido em 2022, quando ocorreram as maiores chuvas já registradas na região. O número de 23 mortes foi menor que o observado em eventos marcados por chuvas menos intensas. Uma das explicações é que a chuva se concentrou em territórios tradicionais, onde há predomínio de florestas, além da menor densidade de moradias. Garantir a permanência das comunidades caiçaras em seus territórios é trabalhar pela RRD. A permanência passa pela construção de uma Educação Escolar Diferenciada que valorize os modos de vida dessas comunidades e fortaleça sua luta por direitos territoriais. Esse processo é o cerne de um programa de formação docente e reorientação curricular realizado em escolas públicas situadas em comunidades caiçaras. Os resultados têm indicado o fortalecimento da cultura caiçara nas escolas e nas comunidades, favorecendo a luta dessas comunidades pela permanência em seus territórios.

El artículo tiene como objetivo caracterizar los principales campos del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial (PCI) de una Vereda de Cartagena de Indias: Tierra Baja, con el ideal de proyectarla en la industria del turismo cultural, teniendo en cuenta la pérdida de su identidad, la amenaza del territorio ante la avalancha de megaproyectos, su ubicación estratégica para el turismo y la situación de pobreza que atraviesa su población. La investigación se desarrolla con un enfoque cualitativo y un diseño de estudio de caso con técnicas del método etnográfico. De la caracterización resulta un análisis DAFO, donde se concluye que, pese a que existen debilidades y amenazas, representados en la pérdida de estos bienes culturales, también se presentan oportunidades representadas en la riqueza del territorio, y por eso se culmina estableciendo algunas estrategias para aprovecharla como recurso turístico que permita la mejora de las condiciones de vida de su población.

En las últimas décadas, los cambios producidos por las actividades humanas en los ecosistemas se han vuelto más evidentes, pues han causado procesos de degradación ambiental y social. Algunos análisis de esta situación atribuyen parte de la responsabilidad a las formas epistemológicas y teóricas de abordarlos, por lo que han sido propuestos varios modelos conceptuales alternativos. Por su parte, el concepto de vulnerabilidad ha sido utilizado para abordar cuestiones ambientales desde distintas construcciones teóricas y metodológicas, a causa de lo cual no existe un consenso sobre su definición o modelos para su aplicación. Si bien se ha avanzado en perspectivas que, desde el enfoque de sistemas, intentan modelar la vulnerabilidad de un territorio de forma integrada, aún permanecen limitaciones asociadas principalmente a las formas como se han buscado evaluar y representar las relaciones entre las partes que integran el sistema. Más allá de esto, el desarrollo de modelos de vulnerabilidad ofrece el potencial de superar miradas lineales de tipo intervención–impacto y permitir análisis sistémicos, lo cual lo convierte en un área con potencial para la innovación. El presente artículo tiene por objetivo proponer una definición conceptual de vulnerabilidad desde una perspectiva de sistemas ambientales, que permita modelar su variabilidad espacial y temporal. Este proceso implicará no solo reconocer la existencia de múltiples dimensiones y sus interrelaciones, sino, además, integrar elementos como las propiedades emergentes del sistema, la definición específica de la degradación de su funcionamiento y la existencia y consideración de procesos estocásticos, propio de los sistemas abiertos y dinámicos.

En academia y medios de comunicación, el término ‘territorio’ es repetido sin cuestionamiento para referirse a todo y decir nada. En esta reflexión intento demostrar que su sobreúso es deliberado y su propósito es la ‘desterritorialización urbana’ de todo lo que el término ‘territorio’ rehúye; su esencia material y terrestre y los conceptos de país, nación, ciudad, región, provincia, comuna, lugar, o barrio. Con ello se desafía también la división política-administrativa del país, que ha servido para enriquecer y comunicar ideas precisas y necesarias para el desarrollo urbano. Todos somos susceptibles a ser capturados por descuido en este ‘territorio’.

El texto analiza las implicancias teórico-metodológicas de la afirmación: El territorio es una construcción social a través del espacio tiempo. El análisis se sitúa en el actual contexto de crisis de las relaciones capitalistas a escala global. Como reflexión ex-post de trabajos de investigación la autora se propone: profundizar el análisis de conceptos en relación a la trialéctica espacio-tiempo-sociedad; actualizar esos conceptos enlazándolos a la época del capitaloceno; y aplicar esta contextualización y esos conceptos a la producción social de viviendas desde un enfoque posdisciplinar, crítico, decolonial y con foco en problemas ambientales situados.

Este artigo discute a evolução da extensão universitária em diálogo com Boaventura de Sousa Santos, ressaltando seu potencial de conexão entre a universidade-comunidade. A extensão, ao longo do tempo, situou-se numa fronteira entre ensino e pesquisa, porém sua importância é inegável, especialmente na busca pela inclusão social. Na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande, a extensão desempenha um papel crucial na superação de barreiras sociais e educacionais. Propomos, nesse sentido, uma abordagem de extensão em um movimento dialético, dialogando com Claude Raffestin, Rogério Haesbaert e Pedro Gontijo, buscando compreender sua relação com os territórios e o movimento. Utilizando o Materialismo Histórico e Dialético, a pesquisa combina análises qualitativas, com base em estudos de caso nos projetos de extensão do Centro Integrado de Atendimento à Criança, localizado no território da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande, e entrevistas semi-estruturadas, visando compreender a dinâmica entre universidade e comunidade em busca de uma extensão verdadeiramente popular e dinâmica.

La metodología de la cartografía social participativa es una de las herramientas que los ejercicios de integralidad de las tres funciones sustantivas universitarias disponen para avanzar en el desafío de articular la investigación, la docencia y la extensión. Permite problematizar, desde la perspectiva de la extensión crítica, el papel de la universidad y los territorios en la generación del conocimiento y la construcción de sentido sobre el devenir del trabajo universitario. Funciona como un punto de encuentro donde el diálogo y los intercambios multidireccionales develan sus potencialidades y también los aspectos coyunturales y de contexto que obstaculizan su normal desempeño. Las experiencias de cartografías expuestas muestran su ductibilidad y reafirman ser eficaces a la hora de construir una lectura común sobre los conflictos, riquezas, redes, capacidades, comunes y despojos que han existido a lo largo de la historia reciente de los territorios de la Región de Valparaíso, Chile.
