Multiple copper oxidase (MCO) like laccase is widely distributed in higher plant, fungi and bacteria. This study identified MCO like laccase producing bacterium isolated from a wastewater treatment plant based on 16S rRNA sequence analysis, and they were further confirmed by phylogenetic reconstruction. Biochemical and gene characterization of MCO like laccase from Stenotrophomonassp. YBX1 is presented. Purification of MCO like laccase was carried out by ion exchange HQ Trap column and followed by gel filtration spheracryl S-100 column. The purified MCO like laccase from Stenotrophomonas sp. YBX1 shows a total activity of 1252 units and specific activity 391.2 U/mg and protein concentration 0.32 mg/mL. In SDS PAGE, the approximate molecular mass was found at 66 kDa and further confirmed from an MS spectrum of MALDI-TOF. The purified MCO like laccase is capable of degradation of antibiotics such as tetracycline completely, whereas oxytetracycline (78%) and ampicillin (62%) degraded within 96 min without any redox mediators at pH 5 and 30 ºC. Its degradation pathway was based on identification of metabolites by LC-MS spectrum. The enzymatic degradation may be used in advanced treatment of antibiotics containing wastewater.

Purpose: This paper aims to evaluate the impact of various preview modes on tourist attitudes and intentions to visit a destination based on consumers’ level of involvement in travel decision-making. Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted as a between-subjects one-factor [preview mode: static images vs 360-degree tour vs virtual reality (VR) mode] in a laboratory experiment setup to examine how consumers with different levels of involvement in travel decision-making respond to destination marketing toward three different preview modes. Findings: The findings indicated that VR preview mode highly influences tourist attitudes and visit intentions toward a destination compared to static images and 360-degree tours. This effect is more significant among participants with higher levels of customer involvement. Finally, the results from the study offer empirical evidence of the effectiveness of VR in shaping user behavior compared to traditional preview modes. Research limitations/implications: The limitations are using a non-probability sampling method, a small sample size and affordable mobile-compatible VR headsets. Practical implications: This study offers empirical evidence on the effectiveness of VR in shaping tourist behavior compared to traditional preview modes. It helps destination marketers develop appropriate strategies for promoting tourist destinations. Originality/value: The novelty of this paper lies in understanding the effectiveness of VR in shaping tourist behavior with different levels of customer involvement in travel decision-making.

DRAM-NVM-based hybrid memory opens up a varied range of power-performance-area operational configurations through page migration between the high-performance DRAM and the reliable NVM. The amalgamation of two technologies requires various modifications for the existing monolithic DRAM-based systems. This paper summarizes the current research work in the areas of data placement and page migration in hybrid memories. The challenges and design solutions from a range of NVMs-PCM, STT-RAM, ReRAM is presented. This paper also identifies several research challenges in these areas.

In a multi-processor system-on-chip (MPSoC) environment, networks-on- chip (NoC) is becoming the de-facto scaling communication technique. One of the most significant techniques used in NoC for analysing and testing new architectures is simulations. Simulation is one of the main tools used in NoC for analysing and testing new architectures. To achieve the best performance vs. cost tradeoff, simulators have become an essential tool. Software simulators are too slow for evaluating large-scale NoCs. To overcome this problem we propose an NoC Accelerator named knowledgeable network-on-chip accelerator (KNoC) which can be used to analyse various NoC architectures. The proposed accelerator is built using machine learning (ML) algorithms and multiprocessing to predict the design parameters of NoCs with a fixed and accurate delay between nodes of large-scale architectures. The KNoC results were compared to the widely used cycle-accurate Booksim simulator. KNoC showed an error rate of less than 6% and an overall speedup of up to 12 Kx.

The present day weapon technology demands novel energetic materials that exhibit simultaneous high explosive yield and reduced sensitivity. This article demonstrates application of spray evaporation to prepare reduced sensitive co-crystals of high performance nitramine explosives like HMX and CL-20 with a relatively less insensitive explosive 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylene or FOX-7. Stronger intermolecular hydrogen bonding in FOX-7 is responsible for limited solubility in most of organic solvents. Large solubility differences of FOX-7 with HMX and CL-20 restricts it's co-crystallization through classical methods that yields thermodynamically favorable product. Spray flash evaporation, a kinetic crystallization method, has been therefore adopted and could successfully produce CL-20/FOX-7 (2:1) and HMX/FOX-7 (4:1) co-crystals. The fine powdered materials obtained were characterized by SEM, powder XRD, Raman spectroscopy, DSC-TGA etc. Multipoint Raman spectra showed consistent occurrence of spectral features indicating stoichiometric co-existence of ingredients in the crystal lattices. DSC analysis showed absence of all thermally assisted solid-solid phase transformation in the co-crystals as they were observed in pristine materials. The thermal stability calculated in terms of activation barrier for decomposition, revealed the CL-20/FOX-7 co-crystal to be intermediately stable on comparison to their constituents while, the HMX/FOX-7 co-crystal is more stable. Compared to pure HMX and CL-20, both the co-crystals have shown higher insensitivity to impact force, suggesting them to be suitable for future generation insensitive munitions.

Network-on-chips (NoCs) have emerged as a scalable alternative to traditional bus and point-to-point architectures, it has become highly sensitive as the number of cores increases. Simulation is one of the main tools used in NoC for analysing and testing new architectures. To achieve the best performance vs. cost trade-off, simulators have become an essential tool. Software simulators are too slow for evaluating large scale NoCs. This paper presents a framework which can be used to analyse overall performance of 2D and 3D NoC architectures which is fast and accurate. This framework is named as ensemble learning-based accelerator (ELBA-NoC) which is built using random forest regression algorithm to predict parameters of NoCs. On 2D, 3D NoC architectures, ELBA-NoC was tested and the results obtained were compared with extensively used Booksim NoC simulator. The framework showed an error rate of less than 5% and an overall speedup of up to 16 K×.

Neuraxial anaesthesia techniques are routinely used to manage postoperative pain in patients undergoing lower limb orthopaedic surgery. However, neuraxial anaesthesia is contraindicated in patients with a deformed spine or coagulopathy. Researchers recently described the erector spinae plane block—a safe, easy and effective interfascial plane block for managing chronic thoracic pain. Since then, it has been used for providing analgesia in thoracic, abdominal and hip surgery. We report its analgesic use in two patients undergoing knee surgery: one with lumbar scoliosis undergoing above knee amputation, and the other with haemophilia undergoing bilateral knee arthroplasty.
