Culinary skills are defined as the confidence, attitude, and the application of one’s individual knowledge in performing culinary tasks, and their development may be associated with better diet quality and better health status. This study aimed to analyze the association between cooking skills, overweight, and obesity in undergraduates. This is a descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional study, with data collected between October 2020 and March 2021, with undergraduate students (n = 823) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Participants answered the online Brazilian Cooking Skills and Healthy Eating Questionnaire Evaluation, BCSQ, which included socioeconomic information. Logistic regressions were used to assess the associations of cooking skills with overweight and obesity. From the total of the students, 70.8% were female, with a median age of 23 (21–30) years; 43.6% were with overweight or obesity; 48.8% were eutrophic; and 7.7% underweight. Overweight and obesity were significantly associated with low levels of culinary self-efficacy and self-efficacy in the use of fruits, vegetables, and seasonings in the bivariate analysis. The logistic regressions showed that living with other people and eating out were associated with higher chances of overweight and obesity. Sharing the responsibility for preparing meals and a high self-efficacy in the use of fruits, vegetables, and seasonings were associated with lower chances for overweight/obesity. Overall, our study showed that overweight and obesity were associated with lower cooking skills in the studied undergraduates. Therefore, the study demonstrates that culinary skills can be explored in educational programs that aim to reduce overweight/obesity in students.

Background: The treatment of dyschromia can be conducted using dermocosmetics containing depigmenting agents, such as kojic acid. Objectives: This study aimed the development and characterization of Carnauba wax-based micro particles, in order to disseminate kojic acid in cosmetic and dermatological products. Methods: These elements were developed and characterized by electron microscopy and spectrophotometry, in addition to the evaluation of the encapsulation effectiveness and the release profile. Results: The different formulations showed that the variation of the concentrations of the active compound did not interfere with the Solid Lipid Micro particles (SLM) morphology, showing spherical shape and variation in their sizes. The formulation that showed the best yield was M1. All formulations showed low effective encapsulation effectiveness, varying approximately between 5 and 15%. Conclusion: The stirring speed and the stirring time are critical factors in the obtainment process and in the morphology of solid lipid micro particles.

Objective: Unfractionated heparin and low molecular weight heparin are the drugs most used today in coagulopathy. Although effective, these drugs have limitations in their usage, which aroused the interest of the scientific community in researching other substances with a similar effect. This study aims to analyze the anticoagulant activity of isolated and chemically modified pectin extracted from Caipira melon (Cucumis melo var. acidulus) and its nanoencapsulation for therapeutic use. Materials and Methods: For the analysis of anticoagulant activity, thrombin time, prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time were performed. The nanoparticles were produced by a double emulsion using poly(lacticco- glycolic acid) and poly (vinyl alcohol) and, subsequently, were analyzed morphologically by scanning electron microscopy and characterized in the Zetasizer Nano ZS90. Results: The pectin tests showed promising anticoagulant activity. In order to increase the biological activity of this substance, nanoparticles of sulfated pectin were obtained, attaining particle size 301.03 nm, polydispersity index of 0.18, zeta potential of -16.63 mV and Acid pH, the results were considered satisfactory by the researchers. The encapsulation efficiency of the sulfated pectin was 76.31% with controlled release. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed uniform and spherical nanoparticles. Conclusion: The results indicated that the sulfated pectin nanoparticles can be seen as an innovative alternative in anticoagulant therapy. Objective: The present work has as objective to evaluate the influence of the drying process of the granules in the drying stove and in the fluidized bed, as well as, as stages of compression in the formation of nimesulide drug polymorphism. Method: Two tests, TB02 and TB06 were produced in the same way, from weighing to granulation, but during the drying process the TB02 test was dried using the fluidized bed, while the TB06 test was oven dried. X-ray diffraction tests show that, in all samples, the nimesulide active remains crystalline. Result: Although both batches of test drugs show 85% release of nimesulide in 30 mins and the coefficient of variation values for the TB06 test weight and hardness tests are lower than the TB02 test, it was observed that the TB02 test showed the greater similarity factor (F2) when compared to the reference drug. Conclusion: Thus, it can be concluded that the fluidized bed as a drying apparatus shows a greater efficiency and that the test drug TB02 can be considered as a pharmaceutical alternative to the reference medicine. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) represents 20% of cases of non-melanoma skin cancer, and the most common treatment is the removal of the tumor, which can leave large scars. 5-Fluorouracil (5FU) is a drug used in the treatment of SCC, but it is highly hydrophilic, resulting in poor skin penetration in topical treatment. Some strategies can be used to increase the cutaneous penetration of the drug, such as the combination of liposomes containing penetration enhancers, for instance, surfactants, associated with the use of microneedling. Thus, the present work addresses the development of liposomes with penetration enhancers, such as sorbtitan monolaurate, span 20, for topical application of 5-FU and associated or not with the use of microneedling for skin delivery. Liposomes were developed using the lipid film hydration, resulting in particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, and 5-FU encapsulation efficiency of 88.08 nm, 0.169, -12.3 mV, and 50.20%, respectively. Background Limited studies have synthesized evidence on nurses' perceptions of recommended fall prevention strategies and potential differences between those and the practiced strategies. Purpose To synthesize evidence about nurses' perceptions of recommended fall prevention strategies for hospitalized adults. Methods Using PubMed, 50 records underwent abstract and full-text screening, and 10 studies were retained. Narrative synthesis was conducted to identify common themes across studies. Quality assessment was not performed. Results Nurses are aware of effective fall prevention strategies but identified unit-level barriers and facilitators to implementing these in their practice. Unit culture and policies, educational offerings, nursing interventions, and style of communication and collaboration were seen to influence fall prevention. Conclusions Nurses recognize falls as a multifactorial issue suggesting that prevention efforts be tailored to the unit and involve all employees. We recommend that future research emphasize identifying and understanding the combination of factors that produce successful unit-level fall prevention strategies.

Objective The present study aims to compare the maternal and fetal outcomes of parturients with and without a gestational diabetes diagnosis. Methods A case-control study including parturients with (cases) and without (control) a gestational diabetes diagnosis, who delivered at a teaching hospital in Southern Brazil, between May and August 2018. Primary and secondary data were used. Bivariate analysis and a backward conditional multivariate logistic regression were used to make comparisons between cases and controls, which were expressed by odds ratio (OR), with a 95% confidence interval (95%CI) and a statistical significance level of 5%. Results The cases (n = 47) were more likely to be 35 years old or older compared with the controls (n = 93) (p Conclusion Therefore, maternal age, family history of type 2 diabetes, obesity and pregestational overweightness are important associated factors for a higher chance of developing gestational diabetes.

Objective The purpose of this article is to describe the current nursing problem list subset of Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (NPLS) coverage of the American Nurses Association (ANA) recognized standardized nursing terminologies (SNTs) and to identify potential ways to expand and enhance the utility of this list. Materials and Methods The study is a cross-sectional exploratory design. We mapped the content of the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association International (NANDA-I) (2018–2020), International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) (2017 AB), Clinical Care Classification (CCC) (2018 AA), and Omaha System (2007AC) terminologies with each other and into NPLS (August 2017 edition) using Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) (release 2018AA) as the intermediary. Results We identified a total of 1470 unique nursing diagnosis concepts across SNTs in UMLS, including 175 in CCC, 840 in ICNP, 244 in NANDA-I, 418 in Omaha System, and 631 in NPLS. The NPLS covers approximately 43% of the 1470 concepts—coverage for SNT content is 90% for CCC, 47% for ICNP, 59% for NANDA-I, and 32% for the Omaha System. Discussion/Recommendations The NPLS version 2017 coverage of SNT nursing diagnoses included in the UMLS is incomplete and equivocal. Recommendations: (1) ensure all SNT concepts in the UMLS are represented by SNOMED CT terms, (2) devise a formal strategy of partial matching to further enhance interoperability, (3) add a classification structure to the NPLS to enhance the ease of use and utility of the list, and (4) minimize redundancy within NPLS.

The aim of this article was to describe a novel methodology for transforming complex nursing care plan data into meaningful variables to assess the impact of nursing care. We extracted standardized care plan data for older adults from the electronic health records of 4 hospitals. We created a palliative care framework with 8 categories. A subset of the data was manually classified under the framework, which was then used to train random forest machine learning algorithms that performed automated classification. Two expert raters achieved a 78% agreement rate. Random forest classifiers trained using the expert consensus achieved accuracy (agreement with consensus) between 77% and 89%. The best classifier was utilized for the automated classification of the remaining data. Utilizing machine learning reduces the cost of transforming raw data into representative constructs that can be used in research and practice to understand the essence of nursing specialty care, such as palliative care.

Plant phenolic extracts are widely recognized as an important source of natural antioxidant substances and potential compounds for cosmetic formulations. This study aimed to evaluate the chemical profile, photoprotective and antioxidant activities of stem bark extract of Spondias purpurea L. (ciriguela) and its application in photoprotective formulations. Thirty phenolic constituents were annotated by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with an electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry in mode negative (UPLC‑QTOF-MS2). The stem bark extract antioxidant and chelation potential, expressed in half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50), showed 6.25 and 352.22 μg mL−1, respectively. The phenolic extract was used as an active ingredient in six sunscreen formulations, with concentrations ranging from 0.2 to 10%. The ultraviolet (UV) protection properties of the formulations were evaluated by sun protection factor (SPF) values obtained in 0.2 mg mL−1 (0.495 to 2.27) and 2.0 mg mL−1 (2.29 to 15.87). The SPF value for the extract (14.37 and 26.16) was high, but there was a reduction in the base formulation. However, these results suggested that the bioactive extracted of stem bark of Spondias purpurea L. has interesting potential to reduce the damage caused by UV radiation and may be utilized as an active ingredient in a sunscreen formulation.

To evaluate the incidence and the prediction of unstable blood glucose level among critically ill patients hospitalized in an intensive care unit.A cohort study was conducted with 62 adult patients hospitalized at an intensive care unit of a hospital located in Minas Gerais, Brazil, between March and July of 2017. Patient's demographic information, along with scores for Simplified Acute Physiology Score III, primary medical diagnosis, discharge status, diagnosis of diabetes and/or sepsis, length of stay, glycemic variability, type of nutrition, types of medications and treatments, and oxygen therapy were collected daily. A daily venous blood sample was collected to measure blood glucose levels during the patient's hospitalization period. Bivariate analysis was used to explore the association among the potential diagnostic indicators and the outcome of unstable blood glucose levels. Multivariate Cox regression was used to identify the potential predictors for the outcome.Of the total of 62 participants, 45.1% (n=28) had unstable blood glucose level. Among the 28 patients with unstable blood glucose levels, half of them (n=14, 50%) had hypoglycemia and the other half had hyperglycemia (n=14, 50%). Decreased number of days hospitalized and the use of intensive glucose control with regular insulin were associated with decreased odds of developing hyperglycemia. The presence of mechanical ventilation was associated with a higher risk for the development of hypoglycemia.This study provides knowledge and evidence of diagnostic indicators for unstable blood glucose levels that are not currently included in the NANDA-International terminology for the nursing diagnosis Risk for unstable blood glucose level (00179).This study identified important diagnostic indicators that nurses can observe during the assessment to identify patients that are at risk for developing unstable blood glucose level and provide the appropriate care.Avaliar a incidência e predição de glicemia instável em pacientes adultos internados em uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. MÉTODO: Estudo de coorte concorrente, realizada entre março e julho de 2017, com amostra de 62 pacientes. As variáveis independentes coletadas da admissão do paciente a unidade foram sexo, raça, idade, Simplified Acute Physiology Score III, diagnóstico de internação, tipo de saída, diabetes, sepse, tempo de permanência, variabilidade glicêmica, tipo de nutrição, medicamentos e terapêutica, e oxigenoterapia (cateter nasal e ventilação mecânica). Os dados foram analisados por estatística descritiva e análise de sobrevida com teste de Log-rank e regressão multivariada de Cox.Dos 62 pacientes, 45,1% (n=28) desenvolveram a glicemia instável. Dos 28 pacientes com glicemia instável, metade (n=14, 50%) apresentou hipoglicemia, e a outra metade apresentou hiperglicemia (n=14, 50%). Menor tempo de permanência e controle estrito da glicemia foram fatores de proteção para desenvolvimento de hiperglicemia. Ventilação mecânica foi associada ao desenvolvimento de hipoglicemia. CONCLUSÃO: Este estudo fornece conhecimento e evidência sobre indicadores diagnósticos para o desenvolvimento de glicemia instável, que atualmente não estão incluídos na terminologia da NANDA-Internacional para o diagnóstico de enfermagem Risco de glicemia instável. IMPLICAÇÕES PARA ENFERMAGEM: Este trabalho contribui para o aperfeiçoamento da Taxonomia da NANDA-Internacional e, por conseguinte, da linguagem padronizada de enfermagem.

Purpose To provide guidance to nurses caring for individuals with COVID-19, we developed linkages using interoperable standardized nursing terminologies: NANDA International (NANDA-I) nursing diagnoses, Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC). We also identified potential new NANDA-I nursing diagnoses, NOC outcomes, and NIC interventions for future development related to nurses' role during a pandemic. Methods Using a consensus process, seven nurse experts created the linkages for individuals during the COVID 19 pandemic using the following steps: (a) creating an initial list of potential nursing diagnoses, (b) selecting and categorizing outcomes that aligned with all components of each nursing diagnosis selected, and (c) identifying relevant nursing interventions. Findings A total of 16 NANDA-I nursing diagnoses were identified as the foundation for the linkage work, organized in two dimensions, physiological and psychosocial. A total of 171 different NOC outcomes were identified to guide care based on the nursing diagnoses and 96 NIC interventions were identified as suggested interventions. A total of 13 proposed concepts were identified for potential future development across the three classifications. Conclusions The linkages of nursing diagnoses, outcomes, and interventions developed in this article provide a guide to enhance nursing practice and determine the effectiveness of nurses' contribution to patient outcomes for individuals at risk for or infected by COVID-19. Implications for nursing practice NANDA-I, NOC, and NIC linkages identified in this paper are an important example of the value of using standardized nursing terminologies to guide and document nursing care. When included in electronic health record databases and used widely, the data generated from the care plans can be used to create new knowledge about how to better improve outcomes for patients with COVID-19.

PURPOSE We developed linkages using interoperable standardized nursing terminologies, NANDA International (NANDA‐I) nursing diagnoses, Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC), to present initial guidance for the development of care plans focused on COVID‐19 for nurses practicing in community or public health roles. METHODS Seven nurse experts identified the linkages of NANDA‐I, NOC and NIC for our work related to the COVID‐19 pandemic. A model was developed to guide the project. The first step in creating linkages focused on the identification of nursing diagnoses. Then, for each nursing diagnosis, outcomes aligned with all components of the diagnosis were categorized and a list of nursing interventions was selected. The experts used their clinical judgment to make final decisions on the linkages selected in this study. FINDINGS Two community level nursing diagnoses were identified as key problems appropriate for a pandemic related to COVID‐19: Deficient Community Health and Ineffective Community Coping. For the nursing diagnosis Deficient Community Health, eight nursing outcomes and 12 nursing interventions were selected. In comparison for the nursing diagnosis, Ineffective Community Coping, nine nursing outcomes and 18 nursing interventions were identified. A total of40 concepts were identified for future development across the three classifications. CONCLUSIONS The nursing diagnoses, outcomes and interventions selected during this linkage process provide knowledge to support the community challenged with responding to the COVID‐19 pandemic, provide the opportunity to quantify the impact of nursing care, and enhance nursing practice by promoting the use of three standardized terminologies. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE NANDA‐I, NOC and NIC linkages identified in this manuscript provide resources to support clinical decisions and care plan development for nurses practicing in the community.

Background. Sickle cell anaemia (SCA) is the most prevalent monogenic disease in Brazil. In SCA, haemoglobin S (HbS) is formed, which modifies red blood cell morphology. Intravascular haemolysis occurs, in which free Hb and free radicals degrade nitric oxide (NO) and release arginase, which reduces arginine levels. Because arginine is a substrate for NO formation, this decrease leads to reduced NO (vasodilator) synthesis. SCA treatment uses hydroxyurea (HU) to maintain high foetal haemoglobin (HbF) levels and reduces HbS to avoid haemolytic episodes. Objective. To analyse the efficacy of L-arginine as an adjuvant in the treatment of SCA patients. Setting. The State Blood Centre of Ceará, Brazil. Methods. This was a randomized double-blind clinical study of adults with SCA with continuous use of HU at the State Blood Centre of Ceará. The clinical study enrolled 25 patients receiving HU + L-arginine (500 mg) and 25 patients receiving HU + placebo. The treatment was carried out over four months. Laboratory tests were performed to determine the levels of the following: (1) complete blood count; (2) nitrite + nitrate; (3) HbF; and (4) reticulocytes. The clinical experiments were performed by a haematologist. The main outcome measures were nitrite and pain. Results. Statistical analysis showed that the levels of NO were increased in the study group, and there was also a reduction in pain frequency using a pain frequency scale by day, week, and month. The levels of nitrite plus nitrate in the group receiving placebo plus HU did not change among the times evaluated (38.27 ± 17.27 mg/L, 39.49 ± 12.84 mg/L, 34.45 ± 11.25 mg/L, p >0.05), but in the patients who received supplementation with L-arginine plus HU, a significant increase in nitrite plus nitrate levels was observed between M0 and M4 (36.55 ± 20.23 mg/L versus 48.64 ± 20.63 mg/L, p =0.001) and M2 and M4 (35.71 ± 15.11 mg/L versus 48.64 ± 20.63 mg/L, p Conclusion. The use of L-arginine as a coadjuvant in the treatment of sickle cell anaemia may function as a potential tool for pain relief, consequently improving the life of patients.

Introdução: A laserpuntura é utilizada para analgesia, embora os protocolos para aplicação na dor neuropática permaneçam contraditórios. Objetivo: Avaliar o efeito da laserpuntura na modulação da dor neuropática, impacto na qualidade de vida e processo inflamatório local. Material e métodos: Cinco pacientes com diagnóstico de lesão nervosa periférica e dor neuropática associada receberam aplicação do laser AlGaInP, 658 nm, 10 mW, 9 J/cm2, em acupontos especí­ficos, durante 15 sessões, 3 vezes na semana, por 50 minutos. A avaliação pré e pós-intervenção foi realizada pela Escala Visual Analógica, questionário para dor (McGill), questionário de qualidade de vida (SF-36), Índice de incapacidade de Oswestry e termografia. Resultados: Foi observada redução da média da pontuação na Escala Visual Analógica em 3 de 5 pacientes e redução da média de dor após 15 sessões. A avaliação pelo McGill mostrou redução nas dimensões afetivo, avaliativo e total. No questionário SF-36 foi observada melhora das dimensões Capacidade Funcional e Limitação por Aspectos Emocionais. No Índice de Oswestry observou-se redução da média da porcentagem e na termografia não houve diferença nos valores pré e pós-intervenção. Conclusão: Estes resultados sugerem eficácia da laserpuntura na redução da dor e melhora da qualidade de vida em pacientes com dor neuropática decorrente de lesão nervosa periférica.Palavras-chave: dor, laser, Fisioterapia.

Cashew gum and maltodextrin microcapsules containing green tea leaf extracts were made using a spray-dryer. Green tea extracts were submitted to cytotoxicity analysis and characterization of bioactive compounds. Three formulations of microcapsules were performed, which were then submitted to characterization through morphological study, particle diameter and distribution, zeta potential, Exploratory Differential Calorimetry, entrapment efficiency, dissolution test and X-ray diffraction. The extract had a high bioactive compound content and no cytotoxicity was observed. The amorphous microcapsules presented irregular shapes with a circular predominance and dentate surface, mean diameters varying from 2.50 to 3.64 μm, solubility ranging from 63% to 72.66%. Low values of microencapsulation efficiency, zeta potencial and dissolution profile were observed. The microparticles based on the dry extract of green tea present potential as a food ingredient and as a promoter of health benefits.

Background Physician and nurses have worked together for generations; however, their language and training are vastly different; comparing and contrasting their work and their joint impact on patient outcomes is difficult in light of this difference. At the same time, the EHR only includes the physician perspective via the physician-authored discharge summary, but not nurse documentation. Prior research in this area has focused on collaboration and the usage of similar terminology. Objective The objective of the study is to gain insight into interprofessional care by developing a computational metric to identify similarities, related concepts and differences in physician and nurse work. Methods 58 physician discharge summaries and the corresponding nurse plans of care were transformed into Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) Concept Unique Identifiers (CUIs). MedLEE, a Natural Language Processing (NLP) program, extracted “physician terms” from free-text physician summaries. The nursing plans of care were constructed using the HANDS© nursing documentation software. HANDS© utilizes structured terminologies: nursing diagnosis (NANDA-I), outcomes (NOC), and interventions (NIC) to create “nursing terms”. The physician's and nurse's terms were compared using the UMLS network for relatedness, overlaying the physician and nurse terms for comparison. Our overarching goal is to provide insight into the care, by innovatively applying graph algorithms to the UMLS network. We reveal the relationships between the care provided by each professional that is specific to the patient level. Results We found that only 26% of patients had synonyms (identical UMLS CUIs) between the two professions’ documentation. On average, physicians’ discharge summaries contain 27 terms and nurses’ documentation, 18. Traversing the UMLS network, we found an average of 4 terms related (distance less than 2) between the professions, leaving most concepts as unrelated between nurse and physician care. Conclusion Our hypothesis that physician's and nurse's practice domains are markedly different is supported by the preliminary, quantitative evidence we found. Leveraging the UMLS network and graph traversal algorithms, allows us to compare and contrast nursing and physician care on a single patient, enabling a more complete picture of patient care. We can differentiate professional contributions to patient outcomes and related and divergent concepts by each profession.

Background Currently, it is rare for nursing data to be available in data repositories due to the quality of nursing data collected in clinical practice. To improve the quality of nursing data, the American Nurses Association recommends the use of Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT) for coding nursing problems, interventions, and observations in electronic health records. Objective To determine “what is known about the use of SNOMED terminology (Pre-SNOMED CT and SNOMED CT) in nursing”. Methods We searched four databases and two search engines. We identified 29 articles for review. A modified version of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and Mapping Evaluation Assessment (MEA), created by the authors were used for quality assessment. Results All 29 studies mapped standardized (n = 19) or local nursing terms (n = 10) to the SNOMED terminology. MEA scores ranged from 2-8 (range 0-11) with 25 receiving scores from 5-8. On the modified SDLC (range 0–5), all studies exhibited activities of stage 0 (pre-application integration), with two studies describing integration and preliminary testing of SNOMED CT coded nursing content in applications (stage 2). Conclusion Though efforts are underway to ensure adequate coverage of nursing in SNOMED CT, there were no studies indicating use in nursing practice. The authors offer recommendations for achieving the widespread collection of interoperable SNOMED CT coded nursing data in clinical applications to evaluate nursing’s impact on patient outcomes. These include creating a clear professional vision and path to our data goals that builds on sound rationale and evidence, abundant stakeholder engagement, and sufficient resources.

Consistent continuous glucose monitor (CGM) use is associated with substantial improvements in glycemic control, yet the uptake and continued use of these technologies remains low. This systematic review aims to identify and summarize the state of science on human factors and their association with CGM use to inform training methods and best practices that support adherence to CGM use and automated insulin delivery systems. A literature search was conducted in PubMed, CINAHL, The Cochrane Library, and PsychInfo databases using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines to identify studies that reported psychological human factors related to CGM or sensor-augmented pump use in patients with type 1 diabetes. In total, 389 records were identified through our database search and 26 studies published between 2010 and 2017 were included. Articles underwent quality appraisal using the Effective Public Health Practice Project Quality Assessment Tool and were categorized according to study outcomes. Identified human factors with a potential association with CGM use were treatment satisfaction, quality of life, emotional distress, and self-efficacy. Eight patient-reported barriers to CGM use were identified as a subcomponent of satisfaction. To date, studies of human factors associated with CGM use generally lack standardized measures and sufficient methodological rigor necessary to establish causation. A more robust understanding of how identified human factors influence CGM use is necessary. Future studies should test interventions that target human factors to improve consistency of use and establish best practices for enhancing patients' experience and acceptance of these technologies, especially within adolescents and young adults.
