Existing studies have suggested that enterprise social media (ESM) may be especially appropriate in facilitating the initial formation of guanxi, while public social media (PSM) is more suited to driving guanxi development past the initial stage. However, the different patterns of social media use in the context of guanxi development, and the antecedent factors that give rise to those patterns are two salient issues that remain understudied. We conducted a case study with the aim of exploring these issues, which revealed six user archetypes representing the different ways that the use of ESM and PSM can be combined for guanxi development. In addition, we identify a range of antecedent factors that influence how ESM and PSM are used. The user archetypes identified not only constitute a conceptual innovation, but also advance the sophistication of the current perspective of social media use in the context of guanxi development. Clinical decision support systems (CDSS) improve healthcare delivery by providing data-driven opinions to care providers throughout the entire care process. The Information Systems (IS) community has produced many works on the subject in the last decade, and it is necessary to comprehensively examine the current state of research to determine the most promising themes to explore in future research. In this short paper, we conducted a literature review of the past five years to synthesise research efforts. By reviewing a preliminary sample of papers, we found that three major areas may be of interest to the IS Community: 'Positive' and 'negative' CDSS discontinuance, patient-centric value creation of CDSSs and the role of policy-makers in mitigating harmful social effects of CDSS policies. The pace of change in digital organisations necessitates the adoption of rapid innovation practices. While rapid innovation is typically reactive to external uncertainties and shocks, firms that are capable of generating internal disruptions and innovating quickly can gain a competitive edge. This research investigates the role of intrapreneurship in promoting rapid innovation within an organisation's proprietary framework, employing an employee-led, human-centric approach. To explore this concept, the qualitative case study approach will be utilised, with MoMo, Vietnam's leading E-Wallet, serving as a prime example of an organisation that has successfully implemented such practices. Through an analysis of MoMo's internal processes and culture, this research aims to uncover the factors that contribute to the success of intrapreneurial endeavours and rapid innovation within digital organisations. The development of the Fintech Ecosystem brings radical socio-economic value by increasing entrepreneurship, innovation, and financial inclusion. Yet, there is a lack of knowledge regarding how value is co-created among the actors in the Fintech Ecosystem. The research objective is to conduct an in-depth case study in the Australian Fintech Ecosystem to explore the processes and mechanisms of value co-creation. Our study develops a framework for understanding value co-creation facilitated through digital affordance infrastructure. The study has several potential theoretical contributions to the literature on Fintech Ecosystem development by providing insights into antecedent conditions, mechanisms, paradoxical tensions, and outcome attributes derived from the framework. For practitioners, our framework could assist regulators and organizations within the ecosystem in gaining a deeper understanding of the processes necessary for continued success. In the video gaming contexts, gamer loyalty may stabilize the revenue streams of developers in the increasingly competitive business environment. With the emergence of video game digital distribution platforms, game developers can target new audiences with cultural values different from those embodied by game developers' games. And yet, our knowledge about the role of cultural influences on gamer loyalty is still limited. To address this knowledge gap, we conducted a netnographic case study of how cultural influences contribute to gamer loyalty in the context of a Chinese Role-Playing Game (RPG). Our preliminary findings hinted at a theoretical framework based on Qinghuai, a Chinese concept in digital entrepreneurship contexts. More specifically, we identified a variant of Qinghuai in virtual contexts, with six constituent elements at the player (i.e., Self-Cultivation & Selflessness), game (i.e., Heroicism & Completionism), and community (i.e., Hivemind & Collective Stewardship) levels can contribute to fostering gamer loyalty. Digital debt refers to the build-up of technical and informational obligations related to platform maintenance and evolvability that represent performance risks in an organization's work processes, which may result in expensive maintenance cost and severe system failures in the future. While it is becoming increasingly prevalent as resource-constrained organizations across the globe chase the latest technology trends, little is currently known about its mechanisms through which it is accrued. Using a case study of a software vendor from South Korea who has served over 100 resource constrained clients, this study develops and presents a theoretical framework of digital debt accrual. More specifically, the framework suggests that digital debt accrual is a process of three stages: (1) Design Economization, (2) Piecemeal Development, and (3) Redundant Concurrency. Hikikomori refers to a mental disorder that manifests as an extreme form of social withdrawal. Those afflicted (i.e., the Hikikomoris) may not go to work or school or leave their home at all, and they may not engage in face-to-face communication with anyone, including their own family members. Information Technology (IT) has been identified as one of the key catalysts of Hikikomori development. And yet, there remains a lack of knowledge on the precise mechanisms through which IT drives the development of this disorder. To address this knowledge gap, we conducted a case study of the Yokayoka Hikikomori Support Center based in Fukuoka, Japan. Our findings reveal that IT influences Hikikomori development by presenting three forms of escapes - the Relational, Emotional, and Spiritual Escapes. Moreover, each escape is more important in a specific stage of Hikikomori development and impacts the social life of the afflicted differently. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Our understanding of the negative implications of the sharing economy is limited, particularly from the perspective of the traditional businesses that are being displaced. To address this knowledge gap, this paper documents our ongoing study of Qiangsheng Taxi, the oldest and largest taxi company based in Shanghai, China. Our aim is to develop a preliminary process model based on the data collected to date that sheds light on the negative implications of ridesharing, one of the most recognized forms of the sharing economy. More specifically, our process model suggests that there are contextual conditions that are particularly conducive to the growth of ridesharing platforms in China and how they accumulate resources, which give rise to four negative outcomes for the traditional taxi business. These negative outcomes, in turn, reinforce the prevailing contextual conditions to form a vicious cycle that exacerbates the negative influence of the ridesharing platforms even further. Guanxi refers to the social practices of developing and leveraging personal ties to thrive in life and work. In this era of digital ubiquity, many of the interactions between Chinese employees are facilitated by social media. And yet, our knowledge of how the use of social media influences the development of Guanxi is limited. Toward tackling this knowledge gap, this research-in-progress paper presents an ongoing case study of how Chinese employees build, manage and maintain work and professional relationships when mediated by different forms of social media. From our findings to date, a preliminary theoretical framework is presented that depicts the influence of social media on Guanxi development along its four component dimensions: Obligation, Affection, Trust and Status. More specifically, our framework suggests that social media will not facilitate Guanxi development fully, but it makes the attainment of the advanced stages of the process easier.
