We present a computation of the one-loop QCD corrections to top-quark pair production in association with a $W$ boson, including terms up to order $\varepsilon^2$ in dimensional regularization. Providing a first glimpse into the complexity of the corresponding two-loop amplitude, this result is a first step towards a description of this process at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in QCD. We perform a tensor decomposition and express the corresponding form factors in terms of a basis of independent special functions with compact rational coefficients, providing a structured framework for future developments. In addition, we derive an explicit analytic representation of the form factors, valid up to order $\varepsilon^0$, expressed in terms of logarithms and dilogarithms. For the complete set of special functions required, we obtain a semi-numerical solution based on generalized power series expansion., Comment: 37 pages, 1 figure, 2 tables. We address the analytic computation of the two-loop scattering amplitudes for the production of two photons in parton-parton scattering, mediated by loops of heavy quarks. Due to the presence of integrals of elliptic type, both partonic channels have been previously computed using semi-numerical methods. In this paper, leveraging new advances in the theory of differential equations for elliptic Feynman integrals, we derive a canonical basis for all integrals involved and compute them in terms of independent iterated integrals over elliptic and polylogarithmic differential forms. We use this representation to showcase interesting cancellations in the physical expressions for the scattering amplitudes. We compute the photon self-energy to three loops in Quantum Electrodynamics. The method of differential equations for Feynman integrals and a complete $\epsilon$-factorization of the former allow us to obtain fully analytical results in terms of iterated integrals involving integration kernels related to a K3 geometry. We argue that our basis has the right properties to be a natural generalization of a canonical basis beyond the polylogarithmic case and we show that many of the kernels appearing in the differential equations, cancel out in the final result to finite order in $\epsilon$. We further provide generalized series expansions that cover the whole kinematic space so that our results for the self-energy may be easily evaluated numerically for all values of the momentum squared. From the local solution at $p^2=0$, we extract the photon wave function renormalization constant in the on-shell scheme to three loops and confirm its agreement with previously obtained results., Comment: 25 pages, 3 figures, results in computer-readable form attached to the ancillary files

Several recent works have demonstrated the powerful algebraic simplifications that can be achieved for scattering amplitudes through a systematic grading of transcendental quantities. We develop these concepts to construct a minimal basis of functions tailored to a scattering amplitude in a general way. Starting with formal solutions for all master integral topologies, we organise the appearing functions by properties such as their symbol alphabet or letter adjacency. We rotate the basis such that functions with spurious features appear in the least possible number of basis elements. Since their coefficients must vanish for physical quantities, this approach avoids complex cancellations. As a first application, we evaluate all integral topologies relevant to the three-loop $Hggg$ and $Hgq\bar{q}$ amplitudes in the leading-colour approximation and heavy-top limit. We describe the derivation of canonical differential equation systems and present a method for fixing boundary conditions without the need for a full functional representation. Using multiple numerical reductions, we test the maximal transcendentality conjecture for $Hggg$ and identify a new letter which appears in functions of weight 4 and 5. In addition, we provide the first direct analytic computation of a three-point form factor of the operator $\mathrm{Tr}(\phi^2)$ in planar $\mathcal{N}=4$ sYM and find agreement with numerical and bootstrapped results., Comment: 45 pages, 7 figures, 3 tables. We compute the electron self-energy in Quantum Electrodynamics to three loops in terms of iterated integrals over kernels of elliptic type. We make use of the differential equations method, augmented by an $\epsilon$-factorized basis, which allows us to gain full control over the differential forms appearing in the iterated integrals to all orders in the dimensional regulator. We obtain compact analytic expressions, for which we provide generalized series expansion representations that allow us to evaluate the result numerically for all values of the electron momentum squared. As a by product, we also obtain $\epsilon$-resummed results for the self-energy in the on-shell limit $p^2 = m^2$, which we use to recompute the known three-loop renormalization constants in the on-shell scheme., Comment: 41 pages, 4 tables, 7 figures v2: typos corrected, references updated

The ATLAS and CMS collaborations at the LHC have recently announced evidence for the rare Higgs boson decay into a $Z$ boson and a photon. We analyze the interference between the process $gg\! \to \! H \! \to \! Z \gamma$ induced by loops of heavy particles, which is by far the dominant contribution to the signal, and the continuum $gg \to Z \gamma$ QCD background process mediated by light quark loops. This interference modifies the event yield, the resonance line-shape and the apparent mass of the Higgs boson. We calculate the radiative corrections to this interference beyond the leading-order approximation in perturbative QCD and find that, while differing numerically from the corresponding effects on the more studied $gg \! \to \! \gamma \gamma$ signal, they are generally rather small. As such, they do not impact significantly the interpretation of the present measurements of the $H \to Z \gamma$ decay mode., Comment: v1: 6 pages, 3 figures; v2: version published in journal

We compute the one-loop corrections to \tth up to order $\mathcal{O}(\epsilon^2)$ in the dimensional regularization parameter. We apply the projector method to compute polarized amplitudes, which generalize massless helicity amplitudes to the massive case. We employ a semi-numerical strategy to evaluate the scattering amplitudes. We express the form factors through scalar integrals analytically, and obtain separately integration by parts reduction identities in compact form. We integrate numerically the corresponding master integrals with an enhanced implementation of the Auxiliary Mass Flow algorithm. Using a numerical fit method, we concatenate the analytic and the numeric results, to obtain fast and reliable evaluation of the scattering amplitude. We compute all helicity amplitudes for the scattering of five partons in two-loop QCD in all the relevant flavor configurations, retaining all contributing color structures. We employ tensor projection to obtain helicity amplitudes in the 't Hooft-Veltman scheme starting from a set of primitive amplitudes. Our analytic results are expressed in terms of massless pentagon functions, and are easy to evaluate numerically. These amplitudes provide important input to investigations of collinear-factorization breaking and to studies of the multi-Regge kinematics regime., Comment: 6 pages, one appendix, 2 tables. We study two-loop corrections to the scattering amplitude of four massive leptons in quantum electrodynamics. These amplitudes involve previously unknown elliptic Feynman integrals, which we compute analytically using the differential equation method. In doing so, we uncover the details of the elliptic geometry underlying this scattering amplitude and show how to exploit its properties to obtain compact, easy-to-evaluate series expansions that describe the scattering of four massive leptons in QED in the kinematical regions relevant for Bhabha and M{\o}ller scattering processes., Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures

We compute the planar three-loop Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) corrections to the helicity amplitudes involving a vector boson $V=Z,W^\pm,\gamma^*$, two quarks and a gluon. These amplitudes are relevant to vector-boson-plus-jet production at hadron colliders and other precision QCD observables. The planar corrections encompass the leading colour factors $N^3$, $N^2 N_f$, $N N_f^2$ and $N_f^3$. We compute the two-loop Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) corrections to all partonic channels relevant for the production of an electroweak boson $V=Z,W^\pm,\gamma^*$ and a jet at hadron colliders. We consider the decay of a vector boson $V$ to three partons $ V \to q\bar{q}g$, $ V \to ggg$ with a vector and axial vector coupling in both channels, including singlet and non-singlet contributions. For the quark channel, we use a recent tensor decomposition and extend the calculation to $\mathcal{O}(\epsilon^2)$. For the gluonic channel, we define a new tensor decomposition which allows us to compute the vector and the axial vector amplitudes at once and to perform the computation of the amplitudes to $\mathcal{O}(\epsilon^2)$. We provide finite remainders of the helicity amplitudes analytically continued to all relevant scattering regions $q\bar{q} \to V g$, $q g \to V q$ and $gg \to V g$. The axial vector contribution to the gluon-induced channel completes the set of two-loop amplitudes for this process, while the extension to $\mathcal{O}(\epsilon^2)$ represents the first step in the calculation of next-to-next-to-next-to-leading-order (N$^3$LO) QCD corrections to $Z$+jet production at hadron colliders., Comment: 28 pages. In this manuscript, we elaborate on a procedure to derive $\epsilon$-factorised differential equations for multi-scale, multi-loop classes of Feynman integrals that evaluate to special functions beyond multiple polylogarithms. We demonstrate the applicability of our approach to diverse classes of problems, by working out $\epsilon$-factorised differential equations for single- and multi-scale problems of increasing complexity. To start we are reconsidering the well-studied equal-mass two-loop sunrise case, and move then to study other elliptic two-, three- and four-point problems depending on multiple different scales. Finally, we showcase how the same approach allows us to obtain $\epsilon$-factorised differential equations also for Feynman integrals that involve geometries beyond a single elliptic curve., Comment: 52 pages

In view of the forthcoming High-Luminosity phase of the LHC, next-to-next-to-next-to-leading (N$^3$LO) calculations for the most phenomenologically relevant processes become necessary. In this work, we take the first step towards this goal for H$+$jet production by computing the one- and two-loop helicity amplitudes for the two contributing processes, $H\to ggg$, $H\to q\bar{q}g$, in an effective theory with infinite top quark mass, to higher orders in the dimensional regulator. We decompose the amplitude in scalar form factors related to the helicity amplitudes and in a new basis of tensorial structures. The form factors receive contributions from Feynman integrals which were reduced to a novel canonical basis of master integrals. We present for the first time fully analytic results for multi-loop equal-mass ice cone graphs in two dimensions. By analysing the leading singularities of these integrals, we find that the maximal cuts in two dimensions can be organised into two copies of the same periods that describe the Calabi-Yau varieties for the equal-mass banana integrals. We obtain a conjectural basis of master integrals at an arbitrary number of loops, and we solve the system of differential equations satisfied by the master integrals in terms of the same class of iterated integrals that have appeared earlier in the context of equal-mass banana integrals. We then go on and show that, when expressed in terms of the canonical coordinate on the moduli space, our results can naturally be written as iterated integrals involving the geometrical invariants of the Calabi-Yau varieties. Our results indicate how the concept of pure functions and transcendental weight can be extended to the case of Calabi-Yau varieties. Finally, we also obtain a novel representation of the periods of the Calabi-Yau varieties in terms of the same class of iterated integrals, and we show that the well-known quadratic relations among the periods reduce to simple shuffle relations among these iterated integrals.

In this paper we consider signal-background interference effects in Higgs-mediated diphoton production at the LHC. After reviewing earlier works that show how to use these effects to constrain the Higgs boson total decay width, we provide predictions beyond NLO accuracy for the interference and related observables, and study the impact of QCD radiative corrections on the Higgs width determination. In particular, we use the so-called soft-virtual approximation to estimate interference effects at NNLO in QCD. The inclusion of these effects reduce the NNLO prediction for the total Higgs cross-section in the diphoton channel by about 1.7%. We study in detail the impact of QCD corrections on the Higgs-boson line-shape and its implications for the Higgs width extraction. Assuming an experimental resolution of about 150~MeV on interference-induced modifications of the Higgs-boson line-shape, our NNLO analysis shows that one could constrain the Higgs-boson total width to about 10-20 times its Standard Model value., Comment: 16 pages, 6 figures, 3 tables

We compute the two-loop corrections to the helicity amplitudes for the coupling of a massive vector boson to a massless quark-antiquark pair and a gluon, accounting for vector and axial-vector couplings of the vector boson and distinguishing isospin non-singlet and singlet contributions. A new four-dimensional basis for the decomposition of the amplitudes into 12 invariant tensor structures is introduced. The associated form factors are then computed up to two loops in QCD using dimensional regularization. After performing renormalization and infrared subtraction, the finite parts of the renormalized non-singlet vector and axial-vector form factors are shown agree with each other, and to reproduce the previously known two-loop amplitudes. The singlet axial-vector amplitude receives a contribution from the axial anomaly from two loops onwards. This amplitude is computed for massless and massive internal quarks. We present a calculation of all matching coefficients for $N$-jettiness beam functions at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N$^3$LO) in perturbative quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Our computation is performed starting from the respective collinear splitting kernels, which we integrate using the axial gauge. We use reverse unitarity to map the relevant phase-space integrals to loop integrals, which allows us to employ multi-loop techniques including integration-by-parts identities and differential equations. We find a canonical basis and use an algorithm to establish non-trivial partial fraction relations among the resulting master integrals, which allows us to reduce their number substantially. By use of regularity conditions, we express all necessary boundary constants in terms of an independent set, which we compute by direct integration of the corresponding integrals in the soft limit. In this way, we provide an entirely independent calculation of the matching coefficients which were previously computed in arXiv:2006.03056., Comment: 57 pages, 3 figures, 4 ancillary files

We compute the three-loop helicity amplitudes for $q\bar{q} \to gg$ and its crossed partonic channels, in massless QCD. Our analytical results provide a non-trivial check of the color quadrupole contribution to the infrared poles for external states in different color representations. At high energies, the $qg \to qg$ amplitude shows the predicted factorized form from Regge theory and confirms previous results for the gluon Regge trajectory extracted from $qq' \to qq'$ and $gg \to gg$ scattering., Comment: 32 Pages, 4 figures, ancillary files with analytical results

We compute the two-loop mixed QCD-Electroweak corrections to $q \overline{q} \to H g$ and its crossed channels $q g \to H q$, $\overline{q} g \to H \overline{q}$, limiting ourselves to the contribution of light virtual quarks. We compute the independent helicity amplitudes as well as the form factors for this process, expressing them in terms of hyperlogarithms with algebraic arguments. Feynman diagrams constitute one of the essential ingredients for making precision predictions for collider experiments. Yet, while the simplest Feynman diagrams can be evaluated in terms of multiple polylogarithms -- whose properties as special functions are well understood -- more complex diagrams often involve integrals over complicated algebraic manifolds. Such diagrams already contribute at NNLO to the self-energy of the electron, $t \bar{t}$ production, $\gamma \gamma$ production, and Higgs decay, and appear at two loops in the planar limit of maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. This makes the study of these more complicated types of integrals of phenomenological as well as conceptual importance. We compute the three-loop helicity amplitudes for the scattering of four gluons in QCD. We employ projectors in the 't Hooft-Veltman scheme and construct the amplitudes from a minimal set of physical building blocks, which allows us to keep the computational complexity under control. We obtain relatively compact results that can be expressed in terms of harmonic polylogarithms. In addition, we consider the Regge limit of our amplitude and extract the gluon Regge trajectory in full three-loop QCD. We present a calculation of the helicity amplitudes for the process $gg\to\gamma\gamma$ in three-loop massless QCD. We employ a recently proposed method to calculate scattering amplitudes in the 't Hooft-Veltman scheme that reduces the amount of spurious non-physical information needed at intermediate stages of the computation. Our analytic results for the three-loop helicity amplitudes are remarkably compact, and can be efficiently evaluated numerically. In this contribution, I review some of the latest advances in calculational techniques in theoretical particle physics. We analytically evaluate the master integrals for the second type of planar contributions to the massive two-loop Bhabha scattering in QED using differential equa- tions with canonical bases. We obtain results in terms of multiple polylogarithms for all the master integrals but one, for which we derive a compact result in terms of elliptic mul- tiple polylogarithms. As a byproduct, we also provide a compact analytic result in terms of elliptic multiple polylogarithms for an integral belonging to the first family of planar Bhabha integrals, whose computation in terms of polylogarithms was addressed previously in the literature., Comment: 28 pages, 3 figures

We compute the three-loop corrections to the helicity amplitudes for $q\bar{q}\to Q\bar{Q}$ scattering in massless QCD. In the Lorentz decomposition of the scattering amplitude we avoid evanescent Lorentz structures and map the corresponding form factors directly to the physical helicity amplitudes. We reduce the amplitudes to master integrals and express them in terms of harmonic polylogarithms. The renormalised amplitudes exhibit infrared divergences of dipole and quadrupole type, as predicted by previous work on the infrared structure of multileg scattering amplitudes. We present the complete two-loop corrections in massless QCD for the production of two photons and a jet, taking into account all color structures. In particular, we analytically compute all two-loop helicity amplitudes for the quark-antiquark, quark-gluon, and antiquark-gluon channel, and check them with an independent calculation of the polarization-summed interference with the tree amplitude. We present the leading colour and light fermionic planar two-loop corrections for the production of two photons and a jet in the quark-antiquark and quark-gluon channels. In particular, we compute the interference of the two-loop amplitudes with the corresponding tree level ones, summed over colours and polarisations. Our calculation uses the latest advancements in the algorithms for integration-by-parts reduction and multivariate partial fraction decomposition to produce compact and easy-to-use results. We have implemented our results in an efficient C++ numerical code. In this paper, we elaborate on a method to decompose multiloop multileg scattering amplitudes into Lorentz-invariant form factors, which exploits the simplifications that arise from considering four-dimensional external states. We propose a simple and general approach that applies to both fermionic and bosonic amplitudes and allows us to identify a minimal number of physically relevant form factors, which can be related one-to-one to the independent helicity amplitudes. We discuss explicitly its applicability to various four- and five-point scattering amplitudes relevant for LHC physics., Comment: v2, minor changes and citations added

We consider the three-loop scattering amplitudes for the production of a pair of photons in quark-antiquark annihilation in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). We use suitably defined projectors to efficiently calculate all helicity amplitudes. We obtain relatively compact analytic results, that we write in terms of harmonic polylogarithms or, alternatively, multiple polylogarithms of up to depth three. We discuss the infrared structure of processes with massive quarks in the initial state. It is well known that, starting from next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD, such processes exhibit a violation of the Bloch-Nordsieck theorem, in that the sum of real and virtual contributions to partonic cross sections contains uncanceled infrared singularities. The main purpose of this paper is to present a simple physical argument that elucidates the origin of these singularities and simplifies the derivation of infrared-singular contributions to heavy-quark initiated cross sections., Comment: 16 pages, 1 figure

We compute the two-loop mixed QCD-Electroweak (QCD-EW) corrections to the production of a Higgs boson and a gluon in gluon fusion. The relevant four-point functions with internal massive propagators are expressed as multiple polylogarithms with algebraic arguments. We perform the calculation by integration over Feynman parameters and, independently, by the method of differential equations. We compute the two independent helicity amplitudes for the process and we find that they are both finite. Moreover, we observe a weight drop when all gluons have the same helicity. We study the factorisable and non-factorisable QCD corrections to Vector-Boson Fusion single and double Higgs production and show the combined corrections for both processes at $\mathcal{O}(\alpha_s^2)$. We investigate the validity of the eikonal approximation with and without selection cuts, and carry out an in-depth study of the relative size of the non-factorisable next-to-next-to-leading order corrections compared to the factorisable ones. In the case of single Higgs production, after selection cuts are applied, the non-factorisable corrections are found to be mostly contained within the factorisable scale uncertainty bands. When no cuts are applied, instead, the non-factorisable corrections are slightly outside the scale uncertainty band. Interestingly, for double Higgs production, we find that both before and after applying cuts, non-factorisable corrections are enhanced compared to the single Higgs case. We trace this enhancement to the existence of delicate cancellations between the various leading-order Feynman diagrams, which are partly spoiled by radiative corrections. We present algorithms to work with iterated Eisenstein integrals that have recently appeared in the computation of multi-loop Feynman integrals. These algorithms allow one to analytically continue these integrals to all regions of the parameter space, and to obtain fast converging series representations in each region. We illustrate our approach on the examples of hypergeometric functions that evaluate to iterated Eisenstein integrals as well as the well-known sunrise graph.

We present the matching coefficient for the quark beam function at next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD in the generalized large $N_c$-approximation, $N_c \sim N_f \gg 1$. Although several refinements are still needed to make this result interesting for phenomenological applications, our computation shows that a fully-differential description of simple color singlet production processes at a hadron collider at N$^3$LO in perturbative QCD is within reach., Comment: 10 pages, 1 figure

We present fully analytic results for all master integrals for the three-loop banana graph with four equal and non-zero masses. The results are remarkably simple and all integrals are expressed as linear combinations of iterated integrals of modular forms of uniform weight for the same congruence subgroup as for the two-loop equal-mass sunrise graph. We present a method for building physical projector operators for multi-leg helicity amplitudes. For any helicity configuration of the external particles, we define a physical projector which singles out the corresponding helicity amplitude. For processes with more than four external legs, these physical projectors depend on significantly fewer tensor structures and exhibit a remarkable simplicity compared with projector operators defined with traditional approaches. As an example, we present analytic formulas for a complete set of projectors for five-gluon scattering. In this paper we study the calculation of multiloop Feynman integrals that cannot be expressed in terms of multiple polylogarithms. We show in detail how certain types of two- and three-point functions at two loops, which appear in the calculation of higher order corrections in QED, QCD and in the electroweak theory (EW), can naturally be expressed in terms of a recently introduced elliptic generalisation of multiple polylogarithms by direct integration over their Feynman parameter representation. Moreover, we show that in all examples that we considered a basis of pure Feynman integrals can be found.

We propose a variant of elliptic multiple polylogarithms that have at most logarithmic singularities in all variables and satisfy a differential equation without homogeneous term. We investigate several non-trivial elliptic two-loop Feynman integrals with up to three external legs and express them in terms of our functions. We observe that in all cases they evaluate to pure combinations of elliptic multiple polylogarithms of uniform weight. This is the first time that a notion of uniform weight is observed in the context of Feynman integrals that evaluate to elliptic polylogarithms., Comment: 47 pages

We review certain classes of iterated integrals that appear in the computation of Feynman integrals that involve elliptic functions. These functions generalise the well-known class of multiple polylogarithms to elliptic curves and are closely related to the elliptic multiple polylogarithms (eMPLs) studied in the mathematics literature. When evaluated at certain special values of the arguments, eMPLs reduce to another class of special functions, defined as iterated integrals of Eisenstein series. As a novel application of our formalism, we illustrate how a class of special functions introduced by Remiddi and one of the authors can always naturally be expressed in terms of either eMPLs or iterated integrals of Eisenstein series for the congruence subgroup Gamma(6)., Comment: 10 pages. In these proceedings we discuss a representation for modular forms that is more suitable for their application to the calculation of Feynman integrals in the context of iterated integrals and the differential equation method. In particular, we show that for every modular form we can find a representation in terms of powers of complete elliptic integrals of the first kind multiplied by algebraic functions. We illustrate this result on several examples. In particular, we show how to explicitly rewrite elliptic multiple zeta values as iterated integrals over powers of complete elliptic integrals and rational functions, and we discuss how to use our results in the context of the system of differential equations satisfied by the sunrise and kite integrals., Comment: Contribution to "Elliptic integrals, elliptic functions and modular forms in quantum field theory"

We provide a precise description of the Higgs boson transverse momentum distribution including top and bottom quark contributions, that is valid for transverse momenta in the range mb < pt < mt, where mb and mt are the bottom and top quark masses. This description is based on a combination of fixed next-to-leading order (NLO) results with next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNLL) transverse momentum resummation. We show that ambiguities in the resummation procedure for the b-quark loops are of the same order as the related fixed-order uncertainties. We conclude that the current uncertainty in the top-bottom interference contribution to the Higgs transverse momentum spectrum is O(20%)., Comment: 28 pages, 7 figures; version published in JHEP

We present a generalization of the symbol calculus from ordinary multiple polylogarithms to their elliptic counterparts. Our formalism is based on a special case of a coaction on large classes of periods that is applied in particular to elliptic polylogarithms and iterated integrals of modular forms. We illustrate how to use our formalism to derive relations among elliptic polylogarithms, in complete analogy with the non-elliptic case. We then analyze the symbol alphabet of elliptic polylogarithms evaluated at rational points, and we observe that it is given by Eisenstein series for a certain congruence subgroup. We apply our formalism to hypergeometric functions that can be expressed in terms of elliptic polylogarithms and show that they can equally be written in terms of iterated integrals of Eisenstein series. Finally, we present the symbol of the equal-mass sunrise integral in two space-time dimensions. The symbol alphabet involves Eisenstein series of level six and weight three, and we can easily integrate the symbol in terms of iterated integrals of Eisenstein series., Comment: 65 pages

We present an estimate of the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to mixed QCD-electroweak contribution to Higgs boson production cross section in gluon fusion, combining the recently computed three-loop virtual corrections and the approximate treatment of real emission in the soft approximation. We find that the NLO QCD corrections to mixed QCD-electroweak contributions are nearly identical to NLO QCD corrections to QCD Higgs production. Our result confirms an earlier estimate of these ${\cal O}\left( \alpha\, \alpha_s^2 \right)$ effects in arXiv:0811.3458 [hep-ph] and provides further support for the factorization approximation of QCD and electroweak corrections., Comment: 4 pages. We introduce a class of iterated integrals, defined through a set of linearly independent integration kernels on elliptic curves. As a direct generalisation of multiple polylogarithms, we construct our set of integration kernels ensuring that they have at most simple poles, implying that the iterated integrals have at most logarithmic singularities. We study the properties of our iterated integrals and their relationship to the multiple elliptic polylogarithms from the mathematics literature. On the one hand, we find that our iterated integrals span essentially the same space of functions as the multiple elliptic polylogarithms. On the other, our formulation allows for a more direct use to solve a large variety of problems in high-energy physics. We demonstrate the use of our functions in the evaluation of the Laurent expansion of some hypergeometric functions for values of the indices close to half integers., Comment: 55 pages

We introduce a class of iterated integrals that generalize multiple polylogarithms to elliptic curves. These elliptic multiple polylogarithms are closely related to similar functions defined in pure math- ematics and string theory. We then focus on the equal-mass and non-equal-mass sunrise integrals, and we develop a formalism that enables us to compute these Feynman integrals in terms of our iterated integrals on elliptic curves. The key idea is to use integration-by-parts identities to identify a set of integral kernels, whose precise form is determined by the branch points of the integral in question. These kernels allow us to express all iterated integrals on an elliptic curve in terms of them. The flexibility of our approach leads us to expect that it will be applicable to a large variety of integrals in high-energy physics., Comment: 22 pages
