2. Electromagnetic Vibration Analysis of Transverse Flux Permanent Magnet Linear Submersible Motor for Oil Production.

Abstract

A transverse flux linear motor is a special type of linear motor with a high thrust force density, and it has broad application prospects in the field of linear direct-drive systems. In the process of oil production, the vibration of the linear motor poses a significant amount of harm to the system due to its special slender structure. This paper focuses on the electromagnetic vibration of a transverse flux permanent magnet linear submersible motor (TFPMLSM). Firstly, the no-load air gap flux density is calculated based on the field modulation principle. Secondly, the radial electromagnetic force (REF) of the TFPMLSM is calculated, and the finite element method (FEM) is used to analyze the time-space and spectral characteristics of the REF. Then, the influence of secondary eccentricity on the frequency spectrum of the REF is further concluded. Finally, the natural frequencies of each vibration mode are calculated using the modal superposition method and the influence of the REF on the motor vibration is obtained through magnetic-structural coupling analysis. The research results found that the motor does not cause resonance at low speeds, and the fundamental frequency of REF has the greatest impact on electromagnetic vibration. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The deep-sea robot is very useful in deep sea engineering. Based on a comparison and analysis of current deep-sea robots, this paper proposes a novel concept for a deep-sea walking-swimming robot, the purpose of which is to swim extensively in the sea and walk stably on the seafloor. The overall proposal, specifications and characteristics of the deep-sea walking-swimming robot are introduced. After an analysis of its environment and function characteristics,such key techniques as the regulation of the robot's walking/swimming attitude, cooperative current anti-turbulence of multi-legs and multi-joints, path planning for low energy consumption, dynamic seal of deep-sea joints and integration and optimization of the overall design are presented, showing that it is quite different from traditional underwater and multi-foot robots. Finally, the research progress of the above-mentioned techniques is also presented.

Abstract

A novel linear permanent magnet vernier generator (LPMVG) for small-power off-grid wave power generation systems is proposed in this paper. Firstly, in order to reduce the cogging force and the inherent edge effect of the linear generator, a staggered tooth modular structure is proposed. Secondly, in order to improve the output power and efficiency of the LPMVG and reduce the fluctuation coefficient of electromagnetic force, the relationship between the parameters of the generator is studied, and a method combining multi-objective optimization and single parameter scanning based on the response surface model and particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal structural parameters of the generator. Thirdly, the output power and efficiency of the optimized generator are calculated and analyzed based on the two-dimensional finite element method, and the effectiveness of the multi-objective optimization design method based on the response surface model and particle swarm optimization algorithm is verified. Finally, a prototype is developed, and the calculated results and the measured results are shown to be in good agreement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

6. Precise Docking Control of AUV Based on Neural Network Adaptive Controller

Abstract

It is a great challenge for the docking of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) in presence of model errors and actuator failure. The neural network adaptive controller including the state feedback controller and adaptive compensator is proposed. The state feedback controller is designed based on Linear Quadratic Regular (LQR) theory, which ensures the expected docking performances of AUV under no uncertainties. The neural network adaptive compensator derived based on the Lyapunov stability method helps to compensate the model errors and actuator failure, and Uniform Ultimate Boundedness (UUB) of AUV prediction errors is proved. Simulation shows that, the controller helps AUV to dock precisely with strong robustness to uncertainties and disturbance.

Abstract

Unmanned surface vehicle (USV) is a kind of important marine autonomous robots, which has been studied and applied to practice gradually. In the study, the far-field collision conflict scope and marine traffic rules for USV are defined. A novel far-field region collision detection method is proposed for the collision conflict detection. The constraints from marine traffic rules and collision conflict are denoted by feasible candidate direction angle sets. On the base of sparse A*, a dynamic replanning algorithm of local trajectory is proposed for dynamic obstacles avoidance of USV in the far-field region. In the simulation, the validity of the algorithm is demonstrated in the experiments by different types of scenarios.

13. An adaptive obstacle avoidance algorithm for unmanned surface vehicle in complicated marine environments

Abstract

Unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) are important autonomous marine robots that have been studied and gradually applied into practice. However, the autonomous navigation of USVs, especially the issue of obstacle avoidance in complicated marine environment, is still a fundamental problem. After studying the characteristics of the complicated marine environment, we propose a novel adaptive obstacle avoidance algorithm for USVs, based on the Sarsa on-policy reinforcement learning algorithm. The proposed algorithm is composed of local avoidance module and adaptive learning module, which are organized by the “divide and conquer” strategy-based architecture. The course angle compensation strategy is proposed to offset the disturbances from sea wind and currents. In the design of payoff value function of the learning strategy, the course deviation angle and its tendency are introduced into action rewards and penalty policies. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by comparative experiments of simulations and sea trials in three sea-state marine environments. The results show that the algorithm can enhance the autonomous navigation capacity of USVs in complicated marine environments.
