Abstract

This open access book addresses the current technical problems of low efficiency of emergency site information collection, lack of flexibility of emergency information interaction, lack of fusion analysis technology and disaster loss prediction model, and low intelligence of emergency auxiliary decision making. The content contains research on multiple information collection technology of power grid disaster loss, fusion analysis and prediction technology of power grid disaster loss information, and real-time information interaction technology between emergency site and command center in this work. This book illustrates the process of developing a prototype system for grid disaster perception and emergency command, which realizes the functions of grid disaster perception and emergency auxiliary decision-making and visualization command. The prototype intelligent perception and emergency command system for power grid disasters has been piloted in several units. It provided support for disaster loss prediction, disaster damage perception, and emergency command auxiliary decision-making in the earthquake in Sichuan, China, as well as the heavy rainfall in Zhejiang, China and Typhoon No. 9 "Lupi" that registered in Fujian, China, which significantly improved the emergency disposal Work efficiency.

16. Preparation of Battery-grade Lithium Carbonate by Shear-assisted Carbonization Method.

Abstract

Aiming at the problems such as long production cycle, low utilization rate of carbon dioxide and difficult to meet the standard requirements of battery grade lithium carbonate produced by traditional carbonization decomposition method, the preparation of battery grade lithium carbonate by sodium carbonate--shear carbonization--ion exchange--heating decomposition process was studied using low-grade leachite ore as raw material. The results show that the removal rates of calcium, magnesium and manganese are 97.26%, 81.82% and 95.73 %, respectively, under the conditions of 30 °C, liquid volume/solid mass ratio of 25/1, carbon dioxide input rate of 0.5 L/rnin and shear speed of 6 000 r/min. The shear assisted carbonization method can significantly improve the carbonization reaction rate, shorten the reaction time, save more than 70% of CO2, and is more conducive to the production of battery grade lithium carbonate. 21. A Two-Stage Multi-Layer Perceptron for High-Resolution DOA Estimation

Abstract

Nowadays, with the development of automotive and traffic radars, a higher angle resolution is required for an increasing demand of four-dimensional (4D) imaging radar. In this paper, the high-precision direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation problem is solved by using a deep learning (DL) framework. Most existing on-grid DL-based methods have an upper limit of one-degree resolution. The DOA estimation performance under such resolution is still far behind conventional methods, and is not accurate enough in practical applications. Hence, we introduce a two-stage multi-layer perceptron (TS-MLP) framework to achieve higher resolution of DOA estimation with low complexity by dividing the problem into two main parts. The first MLP is used to determine the coarse grid point nearest to the source angle, and the second MLP fine tunes the estimate within the coarse grids. In addition, we propose a solution to the source association problem between the two stages when handling multiple targets. Our scheme shows much higher accuracy compared with existing DL-based methods, and has comparable performance with traditional high-resolution methods. Moreover, it performs quite robust in the presence of array imperfections.

Abstract

Airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is susceptible to atmospheric disturbance and other factors that cause the position offset error of the antenna phase center and motion error. In close-range detection scenarios, the large elevation angle may make it impossible to directly observe areas near the underlying plane, resulting in observation blind spots. In cases where the illumination elevation angle is extremely large, the influence of range variant envelope error and phase modulations becomes more serious, and traditional two-step motion compensation (MOCO) methods may fail to provide accurate imaging. In addition, conventional phase gradient autofocus (PGA) algorithms suffer from reduced performance in scenes with few strong scattering points. To address these practical challenges, we propose an improved phase-weighted estimation PGA algorithm that analyzes the motion error of UAV SAR under a large elevation angle, providing a solution for high-order range variant motion error. Based on this algorithm, we introduce a combined focusing method that applies a threshold value for selection and optimization. Unlike traditional MOCO methods, our proposed method can more accurately compensate for spatially variant motion error in the case of scenes with few strong scattering points, indicating its wider applicability. 34. 10-GHz Low-Loss Liquid Metal SIW Phase Shifter for Phased Array Antennas

Abstract

This article presents a proof of concept demonstrator for a pair of novel phase shifters based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. Gallium-based liquid metal (LM) is used to reconfigure each phase shifter. This article presents LM phase shifters that, for the first time, have a phase shifting range of 360°. The phase shifters have a small electrical size, and they are intended for use within phased array antenna applications. This article also presents a design procedure for the phase shifters. The procedure has been used to design two phase shifters operating at 10 GHz. The design process can be readily scaled for operation at other frequencies. The proposed phase shifters are reciprocal and bidirectional, and they have very low insertion loss (IL). A series of reconfigurable LM vias are used to achieve the phase shift. Each of LM via is activated once a drill hole is filled with LM and it is deactivated once LM is removed. Using this method, it is possible to achieve a phase shift step ranging from 1° to 100° using a single LM via. Moreover, the overall phase shift can be extended to 360° by employing several LM vias in series inside the SIW. The proposed phase shifters have an IL lower than 3 dB and provide a total phase shifting range of approximately 360° in eight steps of approximately 45° each. This enables the proposed two phase shifters to have an extraordinary figure of merit (FoM) of 131.3°/dB and 122.4°/dB.

Abstract

Elevation frequency scanning synthetic aperture radar (EF-SCAN SAR) can isolate range ambiguities in the range-frequency domain. Therefore, range ambiguity suppression can be accomplished through range-frequency bandpass filtering, which can outperform spatial filtering-based ambiguity suppression. In this article, the analytic space–time signal model of an intrapulse frequency scanning array is derived. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of this signal model, waveform design criteria for EF-SCAN SAR are developed to effectively separate the range ambiguities in the range frequency domain. The ground echo model of EF-SCAN SAR is also developed based on this space–time signal model. The impact of intrapulse frequency scanning on the performance of high-resolution and wide-swath (HRWS) imaging is analyzed based on the derivation and analysis of the echo spectrum. Finally, an imaging algorithm for EF-SCAN SAR is developed based on this analysis. Numerical simulations verify the effectiveness of the proposed waveform design criteria and imaging algorithm.
