A generalization of fractional vector calculus as a self-consistent mathematical theory is proposed to take into account a general form of non-locality in kernels of fractional vector differential and integral operators. Self-consistency involves proving generalizations of all fundamental theorems of vector calculus for generalized kernels of operators. In the generalization of FVC from power-law nonlocality to the general form of nonlocality in space, we use the general fractional calculus in the Luchko approach. This paper proposed the following: (1) Self-consistent definitions of general fractional differential vector operators: the regional and line general fractional gradients, the regional and surface general fractional curl operators, the general fractional divergence are proposed. (2) Self-consistent definitions of general fractional integral vector operators: the general fractional circulation, general fractional flux and general fractional volume integral are proposed. (3) The general fractional gradient, Green, Stokes and Gauss theorems as fundamental theorems of general fractional vector calculus are proved for simple and complex regions. The fundamental theorems (Gradient, Green, Stokes, Gauss theorems) of the proposed general FVC are proved for a wider class of domains, surfaces and curves. Therefore we can state that we proposed a calculus, which is a general fractional vector calculus. The difficulties and problems of defining general fractional integral and differential vector operators are discussed to the nonlocal case, caused by the violation of standard product (Leibniz) rule, chain rule, and semigroup property. General FVC for orthogonal curvilinear coordinates, which includes general fractional vector operators for the spherical and cylindrical coordinates, is also proposed., Comment: 94 pages

For the first time, a general fractional calculus of arbitrary order was proposed by Yuri Luchko in the works Mathematics 9(6) (2021) 594 and Symmetry 13(5) (2021) 755. In these works, the proposed approaches to formulate this calculus are based either on the power of one Sonine kernel, or the convolution of one Sonine kernel with the kernels of the integer-order integrals. To apply general fractional calculus, it is useful to have a wider range of operators, for example, by using the Laplace convolution of different types of kernels. In this paper, an extended formulation of the general fractional calculus of arbitrary order is proposed. Extension is achieved by using different types (subsets) of pairs of operator kernels in definitions general fractional integrals and derivatives. For this, the definition of the Luchko pair of kernels is somewhat broadened, which leads to the symmetry of the definition of the Luchko pair. The proposed set of kernel pairs are subsets of the Luchko set of kernel pairs. The area of fractional calculus (FC) has been fast developing and is presently being applied in all scientific fields. Therefore, it is of key relevance to assess the present state of development and to foresee, if possible, the future evolution, or, at least, the challenges identified in the scope of advanced research works. A generalization of the standard model of Dirac particle in external electromagnetic field is proposed. In the generalization we take into account interactions of this particle with environment, which is described by the memory function. This function takes into account that the behavior of the particle at proper time can depend not only at the present time, but also on the history of changes on finite time interval. In this case the Dirac particle can be considered an open quantum system with non-Markovian dynamics. The violation of the semigroup property of dynamic maps is a characteristic property of dynamics with memory. We use the Fock-Schwinger proper time method and derivatives of non-integer orders with respect to proper time. The fractional differential equation, which describes the Dirac particle with memory, and the expression of its exact solution are suggested. In this paper we consider extensions of the gradient elasticity models proposed earlier by the second author to describe materials with fractional non-locality and fractality using the techniques developed recently by the first author. We derive a generalization of three-dimensional continuum gradient elasticity theory, starting from integral relations and assuming a weak non-locality of power-law type that gives constitutive relations with fractional Laplacian terms, by utilizing the fractional Taylor series in wave-vector space. In the sequel we consider non-linear field equations with fractional derivatives of non-integer order to describe nonlinear elastic effects for gradient materials with power-law long-range interactions in the framework of weak non-locality approximation. The special constitutive relationship that we elaborate on, can form the basis for developing a fractional extension of deformation theory of gradient plasticity. Using the perturbation method, we obtain corrections to the constitutive relations of linear fractional gradient elasticity, when the perturbations are caused by weak deviations from linear elasticity or by fractional gradient non-locality. Finally we discuss fractal materials described by continuum models with non-integer dimensional spaces. In this paper, we propose new regularization, where integer-order differential operators are replaced by fractional-order operators. Regularization for quantum field theories based on application of the Riesz fractional derivatives of non-integer orders is suggested. The paper discusses the characteristic properties of fractional derivatives of non-integer order. It is known that derivatives of integer orders are determined by properties of differentiable functions only in an infinitely small neighborhood of the considered point. Therefore differential equation, which is considered for this point and contains a finite number of integer-order derivatives, cannot describe nonlocality in space and time. This allows us to propose a principle of nonlocality for fractional derivatives. We state that if the differential equation with fractional derivative can be presented as a differential equation with a finite number of integer-order derivatives, then this fractional derivative cannot be considered as a derivative of non-integer order. This means that all results obtained for this type of fractional derivatives can be derived by using differential operators with integer orders. To illustrate the application of the nonlocality principle, we prove that the conformable fractional derivative, the M-fractional derivative, the alternative fractional derivative, the local fractional derivative and the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivatives with exponential kernels cannot be considered as fractional derivatives of non-integer orders., Comment: 10 pages

We prove that the standard discrete-time accelerator equation cannot be considered as an exact discrete analog of the continuous-time accelerator equation. This leads to fact that the standard discrete-time macroeconomic models cannot be considered as exact discretization of the corresponding continuous-time models. As a result, the equations of the continuous and standard discrete models have different solutions and can predict the different behavior of the economy. In this paper, we propose a self-consistent discrete-time description of the economic accelerators that is based on the exact finite differences. For discrete-time approach, the model equations with exact differences have the same solutions as the corresponding continuous-time models and these discrete and continuous models describe the same behavior of the economy. An economic interpretation of the Caputo derivatives of non-integer orders is proposed. The suggested economic interpretation of the fractional derivatives is based on a generalization of average and marginal values of economic indicators. We formulate an economic interpretation by using the concept of the T-indicator that allows us to describe economic processes with memory. The standard average and marginal values of indicator are special cases of the proposed T-indicator, when the order is equal to zero and one, respectively. A generalization of the economic model of logistic growth, which takes into account the effects of memory and crises, is suggested. Memory effect means that the economic factors and parameters at any given time depend not only on their values at that time, but also on their values at previous times. For the mathematical description of the memory effects, we use the theory of derivatives of non-integer order. Crises are considered as sharp splashes (bursts) of the price, which are mathematically described by the delta-functions. Using the equivalence of fractional differential equations and the Volterra integral equations, we obtain discrete maps with memory that are exact discrete analogs of fractional differential equations of economic processes. In this paper we discuss a concept of dynamic memory and an application of fractional calculus to describe the dynamic memory. The concept of memory is considered from the standpoint of economic models in the framework of continuous time approach based on fractional calculus. We also describe some general restrictions that can be imposed on the structure and properties of dynamic memory. These restrictions include the following three principles: (a) the principle of fading memory; (b) the principle of memory homogeneity on time (the principle of non-aging memory); (c) the principle of memory reversibility (the principle of memory recovery). Examples of different memory functions are suggested by using the fractional calculus. Intersectoral dynamic models with power-law memory are proposed. The equations of open and closed intersectoral models, in which the memory effects are described by the Caputo derivatives of non-integer orders, are derived. We suggest solutions of these equations, which have the form of linear combinations of the Mittag-Leffler functions and which are characterized by different effective growth rates. Examples of intersectoral dynamics with power-law memory are suggested for two sectoral cases. We formulate two principles of intersectoral dynamics with memory: the principle of changing of technological growth rates and the principle of domination change. In this paper we prove that local fractional derivatives of differentiable functions are integer-order derivative or zero operator. We demonstrate that the local fractional derivatives are limits of the left-sided Caputo fractional derivatives. The Caputo derivative of fractional order alpha of function f(x) is defined as a fractional integration of order (n-alpha) of the derivative f^(n)(x) of integer order n. The requirement of the existence of integer-order derivatives allows us to conclude that the local fractional derivative cannot be considered as the best method to describe nowhere differentiable functions and fractal objects. A generalization of the economic model of natural growth, which takes into account the power-law memory effect, is suggested. The memory effect means the dependence of the process not only on the current state of the process, but also on the history of changes of this process in the past. For the mathematical description of the economic process with power-law memory we used the theory of derivatives of non-integer order and fractional-order differential equation. We propose equations take into account the effects of memory with one-parameter power-law damping. Solutions of these fractional differential equations are suggested. We proved that the growth and downturn of output depend on the memory effects. We demonstrate that the memory effect can lead to decrease of output instead of its growth, which is described by model without memory effect. Accelerators with power-law memory are proposed in the framework of the discrete time approach. To describe discrete accelerators we use the capital stock adjustment principle, which has been suggested by Matthews.The suggested discrete accelerators with memory describe the economic processes with the power-law memory and the periodic sharp splashes (kicks). In continuous time approach the memory is described by fractional-order differential equations. In discrete time approach the accelerators with memory are described by discrete maps with memory, which are derived from the fractional-order differential equation without approximations. Long and short memory in economic processes is usually described by the so-called discrete fractional differencing and fractional integration. We prove that the discrete fractional differencing and integration are the Grunwald-Letnikov fractional differences of non-integer order d. Equations of ARIMA(p,d,q) and ARFIMA(p,d,q) models are the fractional-order difference equations with the Grunwald-Letnikov differences of order d. We prove that the long and short memory with power law should be described by the exact fractional-order differences, for which the Fourier transform demonstrates the power law exactly. The fractional differencing and the Grunwald-Letnikov fractional differences cannot give exact results for the long and short memory with power law, since the Fourier transform of these discrete operators satisfy the power law in the neighborhood of zero only. In this paper we propose a lattice analog of phase-space fractional Liouville equation. The Liouville equation for phase-space lattice with long-range jumps of power-law types is suggested. We prove that the continuum limit transforms this lattice equation into Liouville equation with conjugate Riesz fractional derivatives of non-integer orders with respect to coordinates of continuum phase-space. Electric fields in non-local media with power-law spatial dispersion are discussed. Equations involving a fractional Laplacian in the Riesz form that describe the electric fields in such non-local media are studied. The generalizations of Coulomb's law and Debye's screening for power-law non-local media are characterized. Equation of long-range particle drift and diffusion on three-dimensional physical lattice is suggested. This equation can be considered as a lattice analogof space-fractional Fokker-Planck equation for continuum. The lattice approach gives a possible microstructural basis for anomalous diffusion in media that are characterized by the non-locality of power-law type. Lattice models for the second-order strain-gradient models of elasticity theory are discussed. To combine the advantageous properties of two classes of second-gradient models, we suggest a new lattice model that can be considered as a discrete microstructural basis for gradient continuum models. It was proved that two classes of the second-gradient models (with positive and negative sign in front the gradient) can have a general lattice model as a microstructural basis. To obtain the second-gradient continuum models we consider a lattice model with the nearest-neighbor and next-nearest-neighbor interactions with two different coupling constants. The suggested lattice model gives unified description of the second-gradient models with positive and negative signs of the strain gradient terms. Fractional diffusion equations for three-dimensional lattice models based on fractional-order differences of the Grunwald-Letnikov type are suggested. These lattice fractional diffusion equations contain difference operators that describe long-range jumps from one lattice site to other. A review of different approaches to describe anisotropic fractal media is proposed. In this paper differentiation and integration non-integer dimensional and multi-fractional spaces are considered as tools to describe anisotropic fractal materials and media. We suggest a generalization of vector calculus for non-integer dimensional space by using a product measure method. The product of fractional and non-integer dimensional spaces allows us to take into account the anisotropy of the fractal media in the framework of continuum models. The integration over non-integer-dimensional spaces is considered. In this paper differential operators of first and second orders for fractional space and non-integer dimensional space are suggested. The differential operators are defined as inverse operations to integration in spaces with non-integer dimensions. Non-integer dimensional space that is product of spaces with different dimensions allows us to give continuum models for anisotropic type of the media. We suggest a generalization of vector calculus for the case of non-integer dimensional space. The first and second orders operations such as gradient, divergence, the scalar and vector Laplace operators for non-integer dimensional space are defined. For simplification we consider scalar and vector fields that are independent of angles. We formulate a generalization of vector calculus for rotationally covariant scalar and vector functions. This generalization allows us to describe fractal media and materials in the framework of continuum models with non-integer dimensional space. As examples of application of the suggested calculus, we consider elasticity of fractal materials (fractal hollow ball and fractal cylindrical pipe with pressure inside and outside), steady distribution of heat in fractal media, electric field of fractal charged cylinder. Lattice model with long-range interaction of power-law type that is connected with difference of non-integer order is suggested. The continuous limit maps the equations of motion of lattice particles into continuum equations with fractional Grunwald-Letnikov-Riesz derivatives. The suggested continuum equations describe fractional generalizations of the gradient and integral elasticity. The proposed type of long-range interaction allows us to have united approach to describe of lattice models for the fractional gradient and fractional integral elasticity. Additional important advantages of this approach are the following: (1) It is possible to use this model of long-range interaction in numerical simulations since this type of interactions and the Grunwald-Letnikov derivatives are defined by generalized finite difference; (2) The suggested model of long-range interaction leads to an equation containing the sum of the Grunwald-Letnikov derivatives, which is equal the Riesz's derivative. Lattice models with long-range interactions of power-law type are suggested as a new type of microscopic model for fractional non-local elasticity. Using the transform operation, we map the lattice equations into continuum equation with Riesz derivatives of non-integer orders. The continuum equations that are obtained from the lattice model describe fractional generalization of non-local elasticity models. Fractional dynamics is a field of study in physics and mechanics investigating the behavior of objects and systems that are characterized by power-law non-locality, power-law long-term memory or fractal properties by using integrations and differentiation of non-integer orders, i.e., by methods of the fractional calculus. This paper is a review of physical models that look very promising for future development of fractional dynamics. We suggest a short introduction to fractional calculus as a theory of integration and differentiation of non-integer order. Some applications of integro-differentiations of fractional orders in physics are discussed. New lattice model for the gradient elasticity is suggested. This lattice model gives a microstructural basis for second-order strain-gradient elasticity of continuum that is described by the linear elastic constitutive relation with the negative sign in front of the gradient. Moreover the suggested lattice model allows us to have a unified description of gradient models with positive and negative signs of the strain gradient terms. A lattice model with a spatial dispersion corresponding to a power-law type is suggested. This model serves as a microscopic model for elastic continuum with power-law non-locality. We prove that the continuous limit maps of the equations for the lattice with the power-law spatial dispersion into the continuum equations with fractional generalizations of the Laplacian operators.
