Este artigo busca pesquisar questões relacionadas à resistência e existência no Vale do Cotinguiba: A irmandade de penitentes de Laranjeiras/SE. Procurando entender de que forma os penitentes vêm resistindo, onde ocorre uma preocupação, visto que, vem ocorrendo a morte de alguns integrantes, assim como também a morte dos seus mestres, a desistência por questão de bebida, indisciplina, falta de indumentária e descontentamento. Aliado a tudo isso, existe a grande espetacularização que os grupos veem se sujeitando com o propósito de ter maior visibilidade e, por conseguinte, não desaparecer. É comum encontrarmos várias irmandades participando de eventos promovidos pelos órgãos públicos desvinculando a comunidade de suas origens. Os griôs(mestres) são considerados um objeto nas mãos dos governantes. O objetivo é mostrar de que forma os penitentes vêm resistindo, como também quais as características preservadas pelos penitentes no Vale do Cotinguiba de Laranjeiras/SE. A metodologia com base etnográfica, com técnicas de coleta de dados como observação e entrevistas.

Descrever o desenvolvimento de um aplicativo móvel para apoio aos profissionais de saúde na correta execução e interpretação de testes rápidos para diagnóstico de HIV, diante da relevância dessas tecnologias como plataformas de interesse para o aprimoramento profissional e da escassez de oferta de soluções com este propósito. Relato de experiência de produção tecnológica de aplicativo móvel com conteúdo baseado no TELELAB. Realizou-se análise comparativa qualitativa de aplicativos voltados ao treinamento para diagnóstico de HIV, no intuito de mapear funcionalidades e escopo. A programação adotou o framework Unity® e linguagem C#. O aplicativo desenvolvido atua como estratégia complementar de assistência, fortalece as práticas de educação continuada e proporciona maior segurança à prática e determinações vigentes que envolvem o diagnóstico da doença. Destaca-se a necessidade de iniciativas de divulgação do aplicativo nos ambientes educacionais e assistenciais para ampliar impactos na política pública de controle da infecção pelo HIV.

O presente trabalho propõe-se delinear estratégias para a máxima integração de energia proveniente de uma fonte eólica na rede elétrica sem comprometer a sua estabilidade, particularmente nas redes das regiões insulares, adotando como caso de estudo a ilha de Santiago em Cabo Verde. Para o efeito, procedeu-se à análise das infraestruturas energéticas e das tecnologias necessárias à adequação da geração de sistemas, com vista a propor o modelo eficiente que permite maximizar a integração deste recurso. Vários cenários de integração de energia eólica foram testados, considerando uma rede genérica com estrutura tipológica em anel e com exploração radial, usando simulação estática e dinâmica com auxílio do software PowerFactory. Foram utilizados como critérios técnicos de análise das estratégias a probabilidade de perda da carga e a demanda esperada não suprida. O objetivo de otimização da solução técnica compreendeu ainda a realização da análise de contingência e da análise da estabilidade transitória do modelo com os melhores índices atrás referenciados. Foram ainda efetuadas as análises de fluxo de carga e de adequação da geração para velocidades de ventos variáveis e níveis diferentes de integração eólica com vista a determinar os limites da integração eólica na rede elétrica. A análise técnica foi complementada com as análises de viabilidade económica e das emissões que permitiram aferir os impactos económicos e ambientais decorrentes das estratégias adotadas. Os resultados mostram que o modelo mais adequado à integração de energia eólica na rede é o que tem como tipologia da rede a geração eólica descentralizada com armazenamento em baterias e geração termoelétrica (ou equivalente) centralizada. Para sistemas com capacidade instalada global de até 50MW, a integração de 50%, 75% e 100% de energia eólica implica associar sistemas de armazenamento com capacidades mínimas de 18,8%, 47,5% e 56,0% do total da capacidade eólica instalada, respetivamente. Por sua vez, sistemas com capacidade compreendida entre 50MW e 100MW, para as mesmas percentagens de integração eólica, requerem sistemas de armazenamento com capacidades mínimas de 26,5%, 49,2% e 58,8%, respetivamente. Os acréscimos exigidos comprovam que a instabilidade no sistema de energia elétrica aumenta com o aumento da contribuição eólica e que o uso das baterias contribui para atenuar este efeito. Para alcançar a meta política (54% de integração renovável até 2030), se se considerar como fonte renovável apenas o recurso eólico, seria preciso um sistema de armazenamento com capacidade próximo a 30% do total da capacidade de geração eólica instalada. Para 100% de integração eólica a viabilidade económica só será assegurada se o custo das baterias cair para valores inferiores a 17,05€/kWh. A conclusão deste trabalho realçou a importância da descentralização da geração eólica e da necessidade da mesma ser combinada com armazenamento por baterias na adequação de sistemas com alta taxa de integração eólica. Se os custos associados ao armazenamento forem reduzidos, esta será uma das melhores estratégias para a descarbonização do setor elétrico das regiões insulares. The present work proposes to outline strategies for the maximum integration of energy from a wind source in the electricity grid without compromising its stability, particularly in the networks of insular regions; to illustrate the constrains associated with different levels of wind energy integration, the island of Santiago in Cape Verde was adopted as a case study. For this purpose, an analysis was conducted on the energy infrastructures and technologies necessary for the adequacy of the generation of systems in order to obtain an efficient model that allows maximizing the integration of this resource. Several wind energy integration scenarios were tested, considering a generic network with a ring typological structure and radial exploration, using static and dynamic simulation with the help of the PowerFactory software. As technical criteria for analyzing the strategies’ adequcy, the loss of load probability and the expected demand not supplied were used. The objective of optimizing the technical solution also included carrying out the contingency analysis and the analysis of the transient stability of the model with the best indices mentioned above. Load flow and generation adequacy analysis were also carried out for variable wind speeds and different levels of wind integration to determine the limits of wind integration in the electrical grid. The technical analysis was complemented with analyzes of the economic feasibility and CO2eq emissions, which made it possible to assess the economic and environmental impacts resulting from the strategies adopted. The results show that the most suitable model for integrating wind energy into the grid has decentralized wind generation with battery storage and centralized thermoelectric generation (or equivalent) as the grid typology. For systems with a global installed capacity of up to 50MW, the integration of 50%, 75% and 100% of wind energy implies associating storage systems with minimum capacities of 18.8%, 47.5% and 56.0% of the total installed wind capacity, respectively. In turn, systems with a capacity between 50MW and 100MW, for the same percentages of wind integration, require storage systems with minimum capacities of 26.5%, 49.2% and 58.8%, respectively. The results show that the instability in the electrical energy system increases with the increase of the wind contribution and that the use of batteries contributes to attenuate this effect. To achieve the local policy target of 54% renewable integration by 2030, considering only the wind resource as a renewable energy source, a storage system with a capacity close to 30% of the total installed wind generation capacity would be needed. For 100% wind integration, economic viability will only be ensured if the cost of the batteries drops below €17.05/kWh. This work highlights the importance of decentralization of wind generation and the need for it to be combined with battery storage in the adaptation of systems with a high rate of wind integration. If the costs associated with storage are reduced, this will be one of the best strategies for decarbonizing the electricity sector in island regions. Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. São Pedro do Sul medical spa provides health services using hot natural groundwater superiorly classified as natural mineral water. The main source of supply of that medical spa, has been over time, the Traditional Spring, which in recent decades has been systematically controlled, and shows spectacular constancy in its chemical quality, if there are no outside contaminations. Within the context presented, the detailed physical-chemical quality of rainwater and surface runoff water was studied, in the proximity of the Traditional Spring, as there is a potential for them to infiltrate at depth and evolve into the natural mineral water aquifer system. Thus, in the present chapter, after presenting the physical-chemical quality of the natural mineral water from the Traditional Spring, as well as some elements of the literature on the physical-chemical quality of rainwater, the methodology of work is followed, and then the results obtained from the physical-chemical composition of rainwater and surface run-off water are presented and discussed, comparing them with the quality of the water from the Traditional Spring. Finally, the main conclusions are presented, and some recommendations are made on research into potential sources of pollution, which justify the poor quality of the rainwater studied.

This work evaluated caffeine removal in a vertical flow constructed wetland (VFCW), planted with Vetiveria zizanioides. The feeding was continuous (synthetic influent: mineral medium and caffeine) to reduce the concentration variations in the bed. Two influent concentrations (0.75 ± 1.0 mg·L−1 and 1.5 ± 1.0 mg·L−1) were used with a constant hydraulic load (100 ± 10 L·m−2·d−1). Plant growth was monitored weekly, and characterization was carried out to determine the levels of chlorophyll a and b, pigments and carotenoids, and nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, sodium and potassium). HPLC-MS was used to determine the caffeine concentration. The caffeine removal efficiency reached averages of 93 ± 1% and 87 ± 1% (retention time: 6.23 ± 0.23 hours). The caffeine contents in the influent did not affect chlorophyll a, total chlorophyll or carotenoids, and an increasing trend throughout the tests was observed. Sodium and potassium contents also showed an increase with higher caffeine concentration. This preliminary study showed that removing caffeine from wastewater using a VFCW is promising. Resumo O contrapiso é uma camada do sistema de piso cuja função é regularizar, dar caimento e absorver deformações. Comumente, é executado com uma argamassa seca à base de cimento que apresenta uma baixa produtividade. O emprego de um material autonivelante à base de gesso permite um endurecimento mais rápido, menor custo e lisura da superfície com obtenção de menores espessuras. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi desenvolver pastas de gesso autonivelantes (GSL), apenas com gesso beta como aglomerante e avaliar a influência do aditivo superplastificante à base de policarboxilato (PCE). As relações água/gesso (a/g) de 0,35; 0,40; 0,45; 0,475; 0,50 e 0,55 foram empregadas e o teor de PCE foi ajustado para a fluidez adequada. As pastas foram caracterizadas no estado fresco quanto aos tempos de pega, espraiamento e calor de hidratação. No estado endurecido quanto a resistência à compressão, à tração na flexão, dureza superficial e MEV. As pastas de GSL foram obtidas com relação a/g de 0,45 e 0,475, contendo 3,5% e 2,0% de PCE, respectivamente. O PCE aumentou os tempos de pega, modificou a estrutura cristalina do hemi-hidrato e reduziu o intertravamento dos cristais com a consequente diminuição das propriedades mecânicas. Abstract The subfloor is a layer of the floor system designed to smooth, leveland absorb deformations. Conventionally, subfloorsare made of a low-productivity dry cement-based mortar. The use of a self-levelling gypsum-based material allows faster curing, lower cost, and smoothness of the surface, as well asa lower thickness. This researchstudy aimed to develop self-levelling gypsum pastes (GSL), with only beta gypsum as a binder, as well as to evaluate the influence of the superplasticizer additive based on polycarboxylate (PCE). A dosage study was carried out on pastes containing a water-to-gypsum ratio of 0.35; 0.40; 0.45; 0.475; 0.50, and 0.55 along with the superplasticizer additive content adjusted for self-levelling spreading. The pastes were characterized in the fresh state as to the setting times, spreading and heat of hydration time. In the hardened state for resistance to compression, traction in flexion, surface hardness and SEM. GSL pastes were obtained with a water-to-plaster ratio of 0.45 and 0.475, containing 3.5 and 2.0% PCE, respectively. The PCE increased the setting times, modified the crystalline structure of the hemihydrate, and reduced the interlocking of the crystals with the consequent decrease in the mechanical properties.
