This paper looks into the microstructure and phase structure of the new wear-resistant steels Ti60 and ANM450 applied for middle plates of scraper conveyer.Their corrosion behaviors in deionized water, corrosion ion solution, scaling ion solution and simulated mine water were studied by weight loss method, electrochemical tests and XRD analysis.The results showed that the corrosion order was corrosion ion solution>simulated mine water>scaling ion solution>deionized water. The order of corrosion resistance was Ti60 > Hardox450 > ANM450.The corrosion products were Fe2O3、α -FeO(OH) and Fe (OH)3, which indicated that iron was dissolved during the corrosion process.

Bisphenol A (BPA) exposure is known to cause damage to male fertility. Conversely, melatonin (MLT) has been shown to offer protection against reproductive damage by acting as an antioxidant. Exploration into the molecular mechanisms behind how MLT alleviates BPA-induced male fertility damage remains unclear. In this study, adult male mice were divided into four groups of control, BPA exposure (intragastrically, 50 mg/kg/day), MLT treatment (intraperitoneal injection, 10 mg/kg/day) and combined BPA+MLT treatment group for comparative analysis after five weeks of treatment. BPA exposure led to male mice subfertility characterized by poor sperm quality of decreased sperm counts and motility, and reduced pregnancy rate of female mice in in vivo and blastocyst formation in vitro experiments. In BPA exposed mice, germ cell proliferation was impaired, showing a decrease in PCNA expression. BPA exposure also induced a decrease in the expression of antioxidant molecules Cat, Prdx6, and Sod1, and up-regulated BAX expression. These expression changes resulted in increased germ cell apoptosis detected by TUNEL experiments. MLT treatment significantly maintained male mice sperm quality and fertility adversely affected by BPA through modulating the abovementioned responses. Sperm proteomics identified 118 BPA-regulated proteins whose expression was changed by MLT treatment, including 37 down-regulated proteins related to proteolysis activity, the up-regulated proteins were mainly involved in lipid metabolism. Conclusively, BPA exposure impaired male fertility by negatively affecting germ cell proliferation and sperm quality. MLT treatment could alleviate the side effects of BPA by regulating antioxidant molecules, inhibiting germ cell apoptosis, and maintaining male fertility. This study will provide more information for further exploration into the molecular mechanisms of BPA and MLT in male reproduction.

The popularity of ready-to-eat (RTE) salads has prompted novel technology to prolong the shelf life of their ingredients. Fresh-cut romaine lettuce is widely used in RTE salads; however, its tendency to quickly discolor continues to be a challenge for the industry. Selecting the ideal lettuce accessions for use in RTE salads is essential to ensure maximum shelf life, and it is critical to have a practical way to assess and compare the quality of multiple lettuce accessions that are being considered for use in fresh-cut applications. Thus, in this work we aimed to determine whether a computer vision system (CVS) composed of image acquisition, processing, and analysis could be effective to detect visual quality differences among 16 accessions of fresh-cut romaine lettuce during postharvest storage. The CVS involved a post-capturing color correction, effective image segmentation, and calculation of a browning index, which was tested as a predictor of quality and shelf life of fresh-cut romaine lettuce. The results demonstrated that machine vision software can be implemented to replace or supplement the scoring of a trained panel and instrumental quality measurements. Overall visual quality, a key sensory parameter that determines food preferences and consumer behavior, was highly correlated with the browning index, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of −0.85. Other important sensory decision parameters were also strongly or moderately correlated with the browning index, with Pearson correlation coefficients of −0.84 for freshness, 0.79 for off odor, and 0.57 for browning. The ranking of the accessions according to quality acceptability from the sensory evaluation produced a similar pattern to those obtained with the CVS. This study revealed that multiple lettuce accessions can be effectively benchmarked for their performance as fresh-cut sources via a CVS-based method. Future opportunities and challenges in using machine vision image processing to predict consumer preferences for RTE salad greens is also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
