Switched reluctance motors have been widely used in industry in recent years. One of its most important advantages is its high-power density and its independence from rare magnet poles. In this study, a new motor design is proposed to increase the average and maximum torque values of a 2.2 kW switched reluctance motor. In the proposed design, slits are opened in the poles in the rotor core. Magnetic field and potential vector distributions, inductance, current and torque values are obtained for reference and slitted motor models. Analyzes were made using the Maxwell 2-D program. According to the results, it is determined that the proposed motor design for the same size and power values provides an improvement in the average and maximum torque values.

In this study, FEA based load performance analysis of two PMSMs that have different rotor structures (inner rotor and outer rotor) has investigated, for new age hybride and electric car industry. It has proposed that electrical specifications of two motors are similar. For doing this comparison, it has proposed that, volumes of these motors are quite similar. With controling the variation of physical parameters of these motors like diameter and stack length, how power denstity change of two motor types are investigated.

Asenkronmotor performansını etkileyen en önemli parametrelerden biri rotor olukgeometrisidir. Rotor oluk geometrilerindeki değişimin özellikle motorun moment-devirsayısı karakteristiği üzerinde büyük bir etkiye sahip olduğu bilinmektedir. Buçalışmada kare ve dikdörtgen rotor oluk yapısına sahip bir asenkron motorun rotoroluk genişliği (bs) ile rotoroluk yüksekliği (hs)oranının (hs/bs)motor performansını nasıl etkilediği araştırılmıştır. Değişik oranlar içinmotora ait moment, akım, akı yoğunlukları, nüve malzemesinin ağırlığı,kullanılan malzemelerin ağırlığı, akım yoğunluğu, verim vb. değerlerin değişimiincelenmiştir. Çalışmada kullanılan motor 2.2 kW gücünde üç fazlı sincapkafesli bir asenkron motor olup modellemeler için Rmxprt programıkullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre hs/bsoranının optimum motor performansı için 2 ile 3 arasında olması gerektiğitespit edilmiştir., One of the most important parameters affectinginduction motor performance is the rotor slot geometry. It is known that thechange in the rotor slot geometry has a great influence on the torque-speedcharacteristic of the motor. In this study, we investigated how the ratio (hs/bs) of therotor slot width (bs) androtor slot height (hs) tothe motor performance of an induction motor with square and rectangular rotorslot structure. For different ratios, the parameters such as the motor torque,current, flux densities, weight of core material, weight of materials, currentdensity, and efficiency were investigated. The used motor in the study is aninduction motor with a three-phase, squirrel cage and 2.2 kW. Rmxprt program isused for the analytical models. According to the obtained results, hs/bs ratio has tobe between 2 and 3 for optimum motor performance.

Elektrik Makinası tasarımcısının ana hedefi, tasarlanan elektrik makinasının en doğru performans parametrelerini, en güvenilir ve en hızlı biçimde belirleyebilmek için en pratik yolu seçmek olmalıdır. Performans parametreleri denince, akım yoğunluğu, hava aralığı akı yoğunluğu dağılımı, elektromanyetik moment vb. parametrelerden söz edilebilir. Bu tür parametrelerin hızlı ve gerçeğe en yakın değerlerini hesaplayabilmek için çoğu elektrik makinası tasarımcısı nümerik çözüm yapan paket programları tercih etmektedir. Bu programlarda daha çok sonlu elemanlar yöntemi kullanılarak istenilen geometrilerin malzeme özellikleri belirlenmekte ve performansı hesaplanmak istenen elektrik makinasının nominal çalışma şartlarında şebekeden çektiği akım değerlerine gore hava aralığı veya stator dişi veyahutta rotorun herhangi bir bölgesindeki manyetik akı younluğu, manyetik vektör potansiyeli vb. değerlerin geometriye dağılımı simüle edilebilmektedir. Yapılan çözümlerin karmaşıklığı arttıkça kullanılması gereken bilgisayarların da performansının arttırılması gerekmektedir. Çünkü gerçeğe en yakın sonuçları vermek istediğimizde hesaplama zamanları hatrı sayılır bir biçimde artmaktadır. Bu noktada analitik çözümü destekleyen ve daha çok elektrik makinası tasarımcılarının kendileri için yazmış oldukları programlar devreye girmektedir. Analitik çözüm yönteminin en önemli avantajı, kompakt olması ve hızlı çözüm verebilmesidir. Analitik yöntemin bir diğer önemli avantajı da geometrilerin ve geometri içerisinde değişen manyetik parametrelerin Fourier serileri biçiminde ifade edilebilmesidir. Bu özellikten dolayı sonlu elemanlar analizi ile karşılaştırıldığında parametrelerin ifadesi sırasında kapalı çözümler desteklendiği için programın çalışma hızı artmaktadır. Bunun yanında, yüzey montajlı sürekli mıknatıslı senkron makinanın hava aralığında üretilen elektromanyetik momentin sade ve güvenilir bir biçimde hesaplanabilmesi için analitik yöntemin kullanılması önemli ölçüde pratiklik sağlamaktadır. Hava aralığında mıknatıs kutupları ve sargıların oluşturduğu manyetik akı yoğunlukları dağılımlarının ayrı ayrı hesaplanıp, toplam akı yoğunluğu dağılımın bulunması elektromanyetik moment hesabının temelini oluşturmaktadır. Aynı zamanda hava aralığında tanımlanan toplam akı yoğunluğu dağılımının bilinmesi ile faz sargılarında üretilen zıt elektromotor kuvvetlerin hesabı da pratik bir şekilde yapılabilmektedir. Üretilen makina aynı stator nüvesi içerisinde hem motor hem de generatör sargıları içermektedir. Bu sargıların manyetik olarak birbirlerini etkileyip etkilemedikleri de hava aralığında oluşturmuş oldukları akı yoğunlukları dağılımlarının sınırlarının belirlenmesi ile gösterilebilir. Bu işlem için de analitik yöntem kullanılmıştır.Sistem genel çalışması açısından olaya bakılacak olursa, tasarımı yapılan çift sargılı makina, aracın tahrik motorları durduğunda motor modunda çalıştırılarak mekanik güç ile beslenen donanımları tahrik edecektir. Makinadaki ikinci sargıda üretilen düşük gerilim ile araç içindeki elektriksel yükler beslenecektir. Önerilen yöntem sayesinde tek bir elektrik makinası ile aynı anda hem generatör hem de motor çalışma gerçekleştirilebilecektir. DC-DC dönüştürücü ihtiyacı ortadan kalkacak, üretim maliyetleri azalacak ve hibrit araçlar için son derece önemli olan hacimden kazanç sağlanacaktır. Bu çalışmada, hibrit araçlarda elektrikli aksesuar sürme sistemi uygulamalarına yönelik çift sargılı bir elektrik makinasının kompleks koordinatlarda haritalama yapmaya yarayan konform dönüşüm yöntemi ile analitik tasarımı yapılıp elde edilen parametreler sonlu elemanlar yöntemini kullanan paket program vasıtası ile teyid edilerek makinanın imalatı yapılıp denetimi yapılmıştır. Makinanın manyetik devresindeki sargılar konsantre (yoğunlaştırılmış) sarım tekniği ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analitik yöntemden ve sonlu elemanlar analizlerinden elde edilen sonuçlar ve deneysel sonuçlar karşılaştırılarak sistemin avantaj ve dezavantajları ortaya konulmuştur. The main aim of the electrical machine designer should choose the most practical way in order to find out the best performance parameters of the electrical machine. Performance parameters are current density, airgap flux density distribution and electromagnetic moment etc. In order to calculate the fastest and the realistic values of these parameters, most of the electrical machine designers prefer packet programmes that use numerical solution. In these programmes, fabric characteristics of materials are used and rated working condition parameters of electrical machines are determined. Also in these programmes, it is simulated that, distribution of the air gap parameters or a flux density value anywhere in the rotor or magnetic vector potantial value anywhere in the machine are determined for rated working conditions on nominal phase currents.The more complicated of solution done, the more computer performance needed be used. Because, when we want to give the realistic solutions, calculation times of the simulations are strongly raised. Here are many programmes that standing by analytical solutions and that written by computer programmers who write mostly by themselves come up. The most important advantage of analytical solution method is being compact and giving fast result. One another important advantage of analytical method is that geometric and magnetic parameters changing in them can be stated as Fourier series. Because of these characteristics, comparing with finite element analyze, working speed of the programme raises due to supporting the closed form solutions for determining the parameters.On the other hand, using of the analytical method provides a great convenience in order to calculate the electromagnetic moment produced in the airgap of surface mounted synchronous machine basicly and reliably. Basic calculation of airgap electromagnetic torque consists of calculation of the magnet and winding flux densities seperately and determining the total flux density distribution uniformly. At the same time, by knowing the distribution of total flux density distribution described in airgap, it is possible to calculate the back EMFs produced in phase windings. Produced machine contains both motor and generator windings in the same stator core. It can be showed whether these windings effect magnetically each other or not by setting of the boundaries of the distribution of their flux densities in the airgap. For this procedure, analytical method was used as well.If it is thought the general working of this system, proposed dual winding machine being worked in motor mode, when the vehicle's internal combutsion engine is stopped, and will feed the accessories that fed by mechanical power. Electrical loads in the vehicle will be fed by generator windings in dual winding permanent magnet synchronous machine. Thanks to suggested method, with just one electrical machine, both motor and generator operations can be achieved and DC-DC converter requirement will be disappeared, therefore costs of productions will be decreased and it will be gained for volume which is so important for hybride electric vehicles.In this study, complex coordinate system conformal transformation based analytical designing of a dual winding permanent magnet synchronous machine is performed for hybride electric vehicle accessory system. Parameters obtained from analytical solution are comparisioned with the finite element based simulation programme results and manufacturing of the machine is performed. Windings in the magnetic circuit of the machine is designed with fractional slot winding technique. Analytical, numerical and experimental results are verified for advantages and disadvantages of the experimental setup. 176
