Abstract Background Over the next decade, the number of osteoarthritis consultations in health care is expected to increase. Physiotherapists may be considered equally qualified as primary assessors as physicians for patients with knee osteoarthritis. However, economic evaluations of this model of care have not yet been described. To determine whether physiotherapists as primary assessors for patients with suspected knee osteoarthritis in primary care are a cost-effective alternative compared with traditional physician-led care, we conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis alongside a randomized controlled pragmatic trial. Methods Patients were randomized to be assessed and treated by either a physiotherapist or physician first in primary care. A cost-effectiveness analysis compared costs and effects in quality adjusted life years (QALY) for the different care models. Analyses were applied with intention to treat, using complete case dataset, and missing data approaches included last observation carried forward and multiple imputation. Non-parametric bootstrapping was conducted to assess sampling uncertainty, presented with a cost-effectiveness plane and cost-effectiveness acceptability curve. Results 69 patients were randomized to a physiotherapist (n = 35) or physician first (n = 34). There were significantly higher costs for physician visits and radiography in the physician group (p

Abstract Background Professional support in childbearing has beneficial effects on childbirth experience, interactions within the family, breastfeeding and medical outcomes. However, more knowledge is needed about prerequisites for professional support to be valuable and satisfactory during childbearing. Aim The aim of this discourse paper is to describe and explore prerequisites for professional support that are of value for women and their families during childbearing as well as how healthcare organizations can be formed to facilitate these prerequisites. Design Discourse paper. Methods This discourse paper is based on our own experiences and is supported by literature and theory. Results Well‐functioning structures and processes facilitate professional support that leads to safe, secure, calm and prepared parents with the ability to handle the challenges of childbearing and parenting. When organizing care in childbearing, prerequisites for support needs must also be considered.

- Abstract
This article examines high school teachers' engagement of newcomer English learner students' prior knowledge. Three central research questions guided this study: 1) To what extent do teachers function as mediators of their students' prior knowledge? 2) What goes into teachers' thinking about how and when to elicit prior knowledge? and 3) How do students respond to teachers' engagement of their prior knowledge? Data are analyzed through sociocultural perspectives on teaching, learning and identity (Lantolf, 2006; Vygotsky, 1978) and suggest that eliciting prior knowledge, particularly among vulnerable student populations, is an ethical enterprise involving risk and an ability to anticipate unexpected consequences. Implications for research and pedagogical practice are presented.

- Abstract
The company, that is a prominent player in the sector of manufacturing and delivery of products to a range of worldwide customers, has a goal to increase their production rate from one unit every four days to one unit per day. To achieve this goal an analysis of their purchasing strategy and their work around the assembly line is carried out in order to increase the availability of materials in storage. Purpose of this study is to develop an optimization model that can be of guidance when purchasing materials to the assembly line. With this type of guidance the main objective is to ensure a deficiency-free assembly line, which in this case refers to allocate time to act when a deficiency occurs and is not causing any delays in the assembly later on. The problem is similar to the famous Lot-sizing problem and by studying research about similar problems, a model aiming for an optimal production plan could be developed. The data describing all the materials characteristics had to be categorized in order to treat the categories differently to achieve the purpose of a deficiency-free assembly line. Furthermore, the model was tested and analyzed to decide how well it could capture the different requirements and characteristics. I was shown that the results where reasonable and giving order points and quantities fulfilling the formulated criteria. In comparison to how some material were purchased in reality, the strategy the model suggested was indicating an improvement for some materials and for other materials at least an equivalent outcome. The conclusion is that the developed model could be of assistance when laying out specific purchasing plans and can contribute to a deficiency-free assembly line to some extent. Despite that the results from the model is considered realistic we cannot ignore the fact that it is missing some trivial information and that the department of purchasing holds a great deal of expertise on factors the model cannot mimic, and hence it is impo

- Abstract

- Abstract
Background: The packaging design of a product, primarily the design element colour, affects purchase intention extensively. This has been stated in prior studies. However, whether colour has the same effect in the Swedish market has not been researched. Furthermore, there has been limited research on the difference between the genders' perception of gendered colours on product packaging and colours' effect on purchase intention in the Cosmetics and Personal care industry. Therefore, these elements are the focus of this research. Purpose: This research aims to evaluate the effect of product packaging colour on Swedish residents' purchase intention in the Cosmetics and Personal Care industry. Furthermore, the relationship between gendered colours on product packaging and purchase intention will be analysed, comparing females and males. Method: This study is deductive research, and it is based on a positivism paradigm. It uses a quantitative approach of gathering data through an online questionnaire. The sample consisted of 194 Swedish residents gathered through convenience sampling. Moreover, the data was analysed using Cronbach alpha coefficient, Spearman's rank correlation coefficient and Ordered logistic regression to test the hypotheses. Findings: The theoretical framework identified a research gap concerning the impact of product packaging colours on purchase intention and how gender-specific packaging colours affect males and females differently. Based on the existing literature, five hypotheses were formulated. The findings confirmed that product packaging colours for all Swedish residents, had a significant positive influence on purchase intention, leading to the acceptance of H1. Moreover, both males and females demonstrated a significant positive effect on purchase intention when exposed to packaging colours associated with their respective genders, resulting in the acceptance of H2 and H4. However, both genders demonstrated a non-significant

- Abstract
Background: Wellness is a holistic, multidimensional, and process-oriented property on a continuum. It has been used interchangeably with and is undifferentiated from concepts such as health and well-being without an in-depth clarification of its theoretical foundations and a reflection on its meaning. The concept of wellness is frequently used, but its definition remains unclear. Aim: To conceptually and theoretically explore the concept of wellness to contribute to a deeper understanding in caring science. Method: Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis was applied to the theoretical investigation of data from publications of international origins. The focus was on antecedents, attributes, consequences, surrogate and related terms, and contextual references. A literature search was performed through a manual review of reference lists and an online search in CINAHL and PubMed via EBSCO, and in ProQuest. Abstracts were examined to identify relevant studies for further review. The inclusion criteria were peer-reviewed papers in English; papers published in scientific journals using the surrogate terms ‘wellness’, ‘health’, ‘health care’, and ‘health care and wellness’; and papers discussing and/or defining the concept of wellness. Twenty-six studies met the inclusion criteria. Results: Based on the findings from this concept analysis, a definition of wellness was developed: ‘a holistic and multidimensional concept represented on a continuum of being well that goes beyond health’. Implications for nursing practice were correspondingly presented. Conclusion: Wellness is defined as a holistic and comprehensive multidimensional concept represented on a continuum of being well, that goes beyond health. It calls attention by applying the salutogenic perspective to health promotion in caring science. It is strongly related to individual lifestyle and health behaviour and is frequently used interchangeably with health and well-being without an in-depth clarification of its th, CC BY 4.0© 2023 The Authors. - Abstract

- Abstract
Numerous studies show that mainstream classroom teachers still remain inadequately prepared to teach diverse students and lack the knowledge base and skills to teach English language learners (ELLs). This has profound implications, particularly in the Southeast, where the rate of school-aged Latino immigrants has grown significantly. Thus, this study examined the perceived effectiveness of teacher-training programs and professional-development experiences of 157 content-area teachers in North and South Carolina. Specifically, researchers analyzed self-report questionnaire data from teachers to explore the role of academic course work, professional development, and multicultural experiences in preparing teachers to work with ELLs and other diverse learners. Overall, teachers overwhelmingly reported feeling underprepared to work with this population until they sought more substantive academic training and professional-development experiences. Teachers had diverse experiences but reported that the quality of courses and depth of multicultural experiences had an impact on their attitudes and classroom practices.

Background In today's society, people are experiencing the rapid development of digitalisation. Expecting parents may have difficulties evaluating the information online; they are not always sure which sources of information are trustworthy, and this exacerbates their feelings of anxiety. More research is needed to broaden the knowledge about how their use of digital sources may influence their health. Question The focus of this study was to explore expecting parents’ use of digital sources and how this influences their health during pregnancy. Methods A systematic review covered the thematic analysis of 39 articles. Findings The analysis resulted in the following theme: The digitalised society involves both opportunities and challenges, and expecting parents express a need for a variety of digital sources to improve their health, and sub-themes: Digital sources could promote parents’ health and well-being in a digitalised society ; Consuming digital health information facilitates understanding, different feelings and social connections ; and A variety of digital sources may facilitate parental identification and adaption to parenthood. Conclusion Different digital sources in our digitalised society mean access to information and opportunities to extend social connections for expecting parents. This can promote their ability to understand and adapt to parenthood, as well as to improve their health and well-being and make the parental transition. However, professional support during face-to-face consultations cannot always be exchanged to digital sources. It is important to base digital sources devoted to expecting parents and digitalisation overall on multi-sectorial collaborations and coordination between different organisations and the digital sources they provide.

Abstract Background Self-efficacy is considered a core component in self-management. However, there is a lack of knowledge about the association between self-efficacy and health-related outcomes in osteoarthritis. The aim of this study was to investigate whether self-efficacy at baseline was associated with change over time in pain and physical activity after a supported osteoarthritis self-management programme. Methods A total of 3266 patients with hip or knee osteoarthritis attended this observational, register-based study. Self-efficacy was assessed using the Arthritis Self-Efficacy Scale. Pain was estimated on a visual analogue scale and physical activity by self-reporting number of days per week the patients were physically active ≥30 min. Data were self-reported at baseline and at follow-ups after 3 and 12 months. Analyses were performed using a mixed linear model analysis and are presented with an unadjusted and an adjusted model. Results High vs low self-efficacy for pain management at baseline resulted in reduced pain and increased physical activity at the follow-ups; least squares means and standard error were 37.43 ± 0.40 vs 44.26 ± 0.40, for pain, and 5.05 ± 0.07 vs 4.90 ± 0.08 for physical activity. High self-efficacy for management of other symptoms resulted in lower pain and higher physical activity at follow-up: 35.78 ± 0.71 vs 41.76 ± 0.71 for pain, and 5.08 ± 0.05 vs 4.72 ± 0.05 for physical activity. Patients with obesity reported lower activity levels at the follow-ups. Conclusion Self-efficacy at baseline was associated with change over time in pain and physical activity at 3 and 12 months after the supported osteoarthritis self-management programme. High self-efficacy had a positive effect on pain and physical activity, indicating the need for exploring and strengthening patients’ self-efficacy. Patients with obesity may need further interventions and support during a self-management programme to achieve an increase in physical activity.

Abstract Objective To study the prevalence of chronic widespread pain (CWP) and chronic regional pain (CRP), and their association to quality of life, pain, physical function at a 20-year follow-up in a population based cohort with chronic knee pain at inclusion. Methods 121 individuals (45% women, mean age 64 years, range 54–73) with chronic knee pain from a population-based cohort study, answered a questionnaire and had radiographic knee examination at a 20-year follow-up. The responders were divided into three groups according to reported pain; individuals having no chronic pain (NCP), chronic widespread pain (CWP) and chronic regional pain (CRP). Pain and physical function were assessed using Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS). Health related quality of life (HRQL) was assessed with Euroqol-5D-3 L (EQ5D) and Short form 36 (SF36). The associations between pain groups and KOOS, EQ5D, and SF36 were analysed by multiple logistic regression, controlled for age, gender and radiographic changes indicating knee osteoarthritis (OA). Results The prevalence of CWP was 30%, and CWP was associated to worse scores in all KOOS subscales, controlled for age, gender and radiographic changes. CWP was also associated to worse scores in EQ-5D and in seven of the SF-36 subgroups, controlled for age, gender and radiographic changes. Conclusion One third of individuals with chronic knee pain met the criteria for CWP. CWP was associated with patient reported pain, function and HRQL. This suggest that it is important to assess CWP in the evaluation of patients with chronic knee pain, with and without radiographic knee OA.

BACKGROUND. The live attenuated BPZE1 vaccine candidate induces protection against B. pertussis and prevents nasal colonization in animal models. Here we report on the responses in humans receiving a single intranasal administration of BPZE1. METHODS. We performed multiple assays to dissect the immune responses induced in humans (n = 12) receiving BPZE1, with particular emphasis on the magnitude and characteristics of the antibody responses. Such responses were benchmarked to adolescents (n = 12) receiving the complete vaccination program of the currently used acellular pertussis vaccine (aPV). Using immunoproteomics analysis, potentially novel immunogenic B. pertussis antigens were identified. RESULTS. All BPZE1 vaccinees showed robust B. pertussis-specific antibody responses with regard to significant increase in 1 or more of the following parameters: IgG, IgA, and memory B cells to B. pertussis antigens. BPZE1-specific T cells showed a Th1 phenotype, and the IgG exclusively consisted of IgG1 and IgG3. In contrast, all aPV vaccines showed a Th2-biased response. Immunoproteomics profiling revealed that BPZE1 elicited broader and different antibody specificities to B. pertussis antigens as compared with the aPV that primarily induced antibodies to the vaccine antigens. Moreover, BPZE1 was superior at inducing opsonizing antibodies that stimulated ROS production in neutrophils and enhanced bactericidal function, which was in line with the finding that antibodies against adenylate cyclase toxin were only elicited by BPZE1. CONCLUSION. The breadth of the antibodies, the Th1-type cellular response, and killing mechanisms elicited by BPZE1 may hold prospects of improving vaccine efficacy and protection against B. pertussis transmission. - Abstract
This article presents a qualitative study of how the individual roles and ideologies of four Arabic and Somali bilingual classroom assistants at an elementary school in Sweden both mirror and challenge larger discourses about language, education and social integration. Data were analyzed using the theoretical constructs of positioning and reveal that the classroom assistants were left out of curricular planning and pedagogical decision-making while at the same timetaking on three pivotal roles as disciplinarians, parent-teacher liaisons, and role models to students. As schools seek solutions to instructional dilemmas inherent in the simultaneous inclusion of newcomer immigrant and refugee students in Swedish-medium classrooms and the promotion of bilingualism, this research sheds light on how bilingual classroom assistants take up their roles as mediators of language and culture within this dynamic.

In type 1 diabetes, dysfunctional glucose regulation occurs due to the death of insulin-producing beta-cells in the pancreatic islets. Initiation of this process is caused by the inheritance of an adaptive immune system that is predisposed to responding to beta-cell antigens, most notably to insulin itself, coupled with unknown environmental insults priming the autoimmune reaction. While autoimmunity is a primary driver in beta-cell death, there is growing evidence that cellular stress participates in the loss of beta-cells. In the beta-cell fragility model, partial loss of islet mass requires compensatory upregulation of insulin production in the remaining islets, driving a cellular stress capable of triggering apoptosis in the remaining cells. The Glis3-Manf axis has been identified as being pivotal to the relative fragility or robustness of stressed islets, potentially operating in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Here, we have used an AAV-based gene delivery system to enhance the expression of the anti-apoptotic protein Manf in the beta-cells of NOD mice. Gene delivery substantially lowered the rate of diabetes development in treated mice. Manf-treated mice demonstrated minimal insulitis and superior preservation of insulin production. Our results demonstrating the therapeutic potential of Manf delivery to enhance beta-cell robustness and avert clinical diabetes.

Abstract Background In Swedish primary care, the healthcare process for patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) can be initiated by a physician or physiotherapist assessment. However, it is unclear how the different assessments affect the healthcare processes and patient reported outcomes over time. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in health-related quality of life (HrQoL), adjusted for pain and physical function, for patients with KOA when the healthcare process is initiated by a physiotherapist assessment compared to a physician assessment in primary care. Methods An assessor-blinded randomised controlled pragmatic trial. Using a computer-generated list of random numbers, patients seeking primary care during 2013–2017 with suspected KOA were randomised to either a physiotherapist or physician for primary assessment and treatment. Data was collected before randomisation and at 3, 6, and 12-month follow-ups. Primary outcome was HrQoL using EuroQol 5 dimensions 3 levels questionnaire, index (EQ-5D-3L index) and a visual analogue scale (VAS) (EQ-5D-3L VAS); pain intensity was measured with VAS (0–100) and physical function measured with the 30-s chair stand test. Mixed effect model analyses compared repeated measures of HrQoL between groups. The significance level was p

Background: While becoming a parent can be challenging for all, it can particularly be challenging for those parents and children who are in a vulnerable situation—e.g., in families whose members have problems related to health, relationships, or socioeconomic status. It is essential for health care professionals to identify the more vulnerable families at an early stage. Home visits are one cost-effective way of identifying and supporting such families. This study describes the parental experiences of an intervention that involves professional support in the form of extended home visits. The aim of the study is to describe the parents' understanding of their experiences of receiving professional support through extended home visits both during pregnancy and the first 15 months of their child's life.Methods/Design: A phenomenographic approach was used. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 parents who had received the intervention. The interviews were analyzed using the seven-step phenomenography model described by Sjöström and Dahlgren. Results: The following three descriptive categories emerged from the analysis: (1) conceptions concerning the meaning of the physical environment, (2) conceptions concerning extended home visits promoting feelings of self-confidence in the parental role, and (3) conceptions concerning extended home visits promoting parental participation and relations. Conclusion and Clinical Implications: Extended home visits as a form of professional support appear to promote parental self-confidence in parenting ability, giving parents a feeling of security that facilitates conversation with professionals. Children and their entire families had natural roles during home visits, which allowed the children to behave more characteristically. Furthermore, the home visits were understood to facilitate social support through social activities at the child health center as well as integration into Swedish society for migrant parents. Professional support should be adjusted to the unique individual needs of parents, which demands a variety of supportive interventions—for example, reorganizing one or two of the regular clinical visits currently being scheduled as home visits instead.

Background: In most Western countries, ordinary parental classes exist and have become a well-established form of professional support within midwifery care, even though some of these classes lack evidence of benefits for the parents. A Swedish randomized controlled trial including an intervention as a pilot study, revealed that a type of parental preparatory professional support provided for expectant parents, the “inspirational lecture,” showed a tendency to be beneficial for parents' birth experience, and their perceived quality of parental couple relationship. However, there is no previous research on the midwives' experiences from providing the inspirational lecture. Carrying out research on midwives' experiences from providing the lecture, could bring future opportunities to provide a work-integrated learning (WIL) related to professionals' skills, and the pedagogic used.Aim: To elucidate midwives' experiences about providing the inspirational lecture as a care intervention for expectant parents. Methods: Midwives were interviewed and data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The midwives strived to put childbirth into a comprehensive and manageable context for the expectant parents, during the inspirational lecture. For this, different approaches were used to make expectant parents understand how the parents themselves can be engaged participants in their own birth. Conclusion and Clinical Implications: The midwives used the inspirational lecture to provide the expectant parents with knowledge about how they, as a parental couple, could cooperate and feel safe in relation to the upcoming birth. This could be understood as if the midwives were striving to facilitate the integrative power of the parental couple, which is the couples' ability to gather their joint power. These results can assist midwives and serve as a reference for providing parental classes for expectant parents with a focus on promoting both the parents' individual as well as mutual skills.

Background: Both expectant mothers and their partners describe weaknesses in ordinary parental preparatory professional support provided internationally and nationally within Sweden. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the parental preparatory professional support provided by midwives for expectant parents within Sweden. This study will evaluate the effects on expectant parents of receiving a combination of an “inspirational lecture” and “ordinary antenatal parental classes” compared with only “ordinary antenatal parental classes.”Methods/Design: This block randomized controlled trial included an intervention as a pilot study, in which expectant parents were randomized for (1) the inspirational lecture and ordinary antenatal parental classes (intervention group [IG]) (n = 66) or (2) ordinary antenatal parental classes (control group [CG]) (n = 60). Data collection with repeated questionnaires was conducted in the first week and 6 months after birth. Statistical analyses were conducted for participant characteristics, differences between parents within IG and CG, effects of the intervention, intention to treat, and internal consistency of the included measurements. Results: The intervention showed a tendency to be gainful for one out of four outcomes related to birth experience, and parents' perceived quality of parental couple relationship consensus and sexuality and manageability. These results were more prominent for the partners. Parents within both the intervention and control groups reported decreased social support in the first 6 months after birth. Conclusion and Clinical Implications: Overall, the concept of the inspirational lecture in combination with ordinary antenatal parental classes as parental preparatory professional support seems to be a valuable care intervention. However, this study was a pilot study and the results should therefore be interpreted with caution. More research is needed since childbirth and transition to parenthood are complex processes in need of comprehension.

Abstract Background Individuals with knee and hip osteoarthritis (OA) are less physically active than people in general, and many of these individuals have adopted a sedentary lifestyle. In this study we evaluate the outcome of education and supervised exercise on the level of physical activity in individuals with knee or hip OA. We also evaluate the effect on pain, quality of life and self-efficacy. Methods Of the 264 included individuals with knee or hip OA, 195 were allocated to the intervention group. The intervention group received education and supervised exercise that comprised information delivered by a physiotherapist and individually adapted exercises. The reference group consisted of 69 individuals with knee or hip OA awaiting joint replacement and receiving standard care. The primary outcome was physical activity (as measured with an accelerometer). The secondary outcomes were pain (Visual Analog Scale), quality of life (EQ-5D), and self-efficacy (Arthritis Self-Efficacy Scale, pain and other symptoms subscales). Participants in both groups were evaluated at baseline and after 3 months. The intervention group was also evaluated after 12 months. Results No differences were found in the number of minutes spent in sedentary or in physical activity between the intervention and reference groups when comparing the baseline and 3 month follow-up. However, there was a significant difference in mean change (mean diff; 95% CI; significance) between the intervention group and reference group favoring the intervention group with regard to pain (13; 7 to 19; p

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a major and growing problem in India. Better knowledge dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practice in Indian physical therapy require a better understanding of approaches to OA (i.e. perceptions of the condition and its management by Indian physical therapists (PTs)) which was the aim of our study. We used qualitative content analysis to analyze semi-structured interviews with 19 PTs from Maharashtra state, purposefully selected to represent both sexes, different ages and different educational and professional backgrounds. We identified a main overarching theme of meaning, OA as adegenerative and irreversible condition with the four descriptive themes Assessment, Standardized treatment protocol, Leadership and Patient compliance as PTs' approaches to OA. The descriptive themes indicate that much focus seems to be on pain, physical impairments and biomechanics, with initial treatments being mainly passive. Communication appears to be mainly unidirectional with the PTs instructing the patients, who are expected to comply with PTs instructions. Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) were not mentioned. Our findings can inform the design of awareness campaigns on evidence-based OA management and increase the understanding of the educational needs of students and PTs in non-Western countries. It is important to recognize that CPGs are mainly based on studies carried out in Western countries and that there are context-specific barriers to implementation in other parts of the world that have large populations. Abstract Background Professional support does not always meet the needs of expectant fathers or co-mothers. The way in which professional support is offered during pregnancy varies internationally, depending on the country. In order to attain a greater understanding of partners’ experiences of professional support, it is necessary to further illuminate their perceptions of it. The aim of this study was therefore to explore pregnant women’s partners’ perceptions of professional support during pregnancy. Methods Qualitative research design. Partners of pregnant women were interviewed during gestational week 36–38. Individual semi-structured interviews were used to explore the partners’ perceptions. The data was analysed using a phenomenographic approach. The study was performed in a county in south-western Sweden; the data collection was conducted from November 2014 to February 2015. Fourteen partners (expectant fathers and co-mothers) of women who were expectant first-time mothers with singleton pregnancies, were interviewed. Results The findings of the study are presented through four descriptive categories: Ability to absorb adequate information; Possibility to meet and share with other expectant parents; Confirmation of the partner’s importance; and Influence on the couple relationship. Using a theoretical assumption of the relationship between the categories showed that the fourth category was influenced by the other three categories. Conclusions The partners perceived that professional support during pregnancy could influence the couple relationship. The partners’ ability to communicate and to experience togetherness with the women increased when the expectant couple received professional support together. The support created also possibilities to meet and share experiences with other expectant parents. In contrast, a lack of support was found to contribute to partners’ feelings of unimportance. It was essential that the midwives included the partners by confirming that they were individuals who had different needs for various types of professional support. The partners perceived it easier to absorb information when it was adequate and given with a pedagogic that made the partners become interested and emotionally engaged.

- Abstract

- Abstract
Background Wellness is a holistic, multidimensional, and process-oriented property on a continuum. It has been used interchangeably with and is undifferentiated from concepts such as health and well-being without an in-depth clarification of its theoretical foundations and a reflection on its meaning. The concept of wellness is frequently used, but its definition remains unclear. Aim To conceptually and theoretically explore the concept of wellness to contribute to a deeper understanding in caring science. Method Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis was applied to the theoretical investigation of data from publications of international origins. Results Based on the findings from this concept analysis, a definition of wellness was developed: ‘a holistic and multidimensional concept represented on a continuum of being well that goes beyond health’. Implications for nursing practice were correspondingly presented. Conclusion Wellness is defined as a holistic and comprehensive multidimensional concept represented on a continuum of being well, that goes beyond health. It calls attention by applying the salutogenic perspective to health promotion in caring science. It is strongly related to individual lifestyle and health behaviour and is frequently used interchangeably with health and well-being without an in-depth clarification of its theoret, CC BY

- Abstract

- Abstract
The purpose of the study is to make visible how norms about sex and genderare portrayed in current children's literature. The method used was a qualitativecontent analysis of ten children's books. The children's books that wereanalyzed was the most borrowed children's books among preschools in thesame region. The analysis of children's literature consisted of looking at howmain characters, supporting characters and plot are portrayed based on thetheoretical framework of the study, feminist poststructuralism and Nikolajevasscheme, which was used as tools in the analysis. The results showed examplesof performative gender, norm-breaking, sex-neutral and sex permutation. Theconclusion was that both norm-breaking and non-norm-breaking depictions ofsex and gender appeared in the children's books. The children's books showeda variation where men were portrayed with stereotypical characteristics butalso in more norm-breaking roles. Women were also portrayed with moremasculine characteristics and with feminine characteristics. It also emergedthat women were underrepresented in children's books and had fewer leadingroles than men

The aim of this study was to gain an understanding of what qualities Petriplatsen in Lund and Rundelsparken in Malmö have and whether these small public urban green spaces contain restorative environments in the dense city. The method used in this study was site analysis based on two different observation occasions. Theories and analysis methods used in this study consist of Patrik Grahn ́s eight park characteristics and ART (Attention Restoration Theory) to analyse, understand and draw conclusions about the collected material. As a foundation for the observations, an adapted version of the criteria based on the theory of eight park characteristics has been made to make a checklist relating to the purpose of the study. The study revealed which characteristics are most significant for small urban green areas to be restorative with the possibility of mental recovery and psychological well-being. Furthermore, the results of the study showed that Petriplatsen is not considered to contain enough characteristics with positive impact on mental recovery to be considered as a restorative environment. On the other hand, Rundelsparken can be considered to have restorative values in a residential context in the dense city centre. The results of the study indicated that the size of a green space in an urban context can be of significance for which characteristics the green space contains, but it is not of crucial importance. Instead, the study found that it is rather about which characteristics the green space contains, how it is designed and whether it contains vegetation. In conclusion, small public urban green spaces should be evenly distributed across the city and function as a complement to large parks and green areas. Small urban green spaces cannot be seen as a solution for increased poor mental health, however, it can and should be a strategy on the way to socially sustainable cities.

- Abstract
Risk and risk aversion are crucial concepts in finance. Models in finance typically assume a known probability distribution of returns, which does often not hold in reality. This papers aims to measure the uncertainty surrounding the probability distribution in equity markets and to evaluate if such uncertainty is priced. Our study defines uncertainty as the volatility of the option implied volatility (vol-of-vol). By employing a Factor Mimicking Portfolio approach, we observe a significant underperformance of the high vol-of-vol portfolio compared the low vol-of-vol portfolio. Over the sample period from January 2005 to March 2023, the average annualized return difference between the two portfolios is 11.9%. Interestingly, the vol-of-vol effect cannot be explained by the Carhart Four Factor Model, as the High-Minus-Low Portfolio exhibit a significant annual Carhart 4-Factor alpha of 13.9%.

Nursing ,RT1-120 - Abstract
Background. Although the World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for six months, the rate of breastfeeding has decreased worldwide. Breastfeeding is the natural way of feeding a baby, but it is a process that has to be learnt. It is not unusual for problems to occur and hence support for breastfeeding is vital. The aim of this study was to explore first-time mothers’ experiences of the breastfeeding support offered by pediatric nurses, as well as to develop and evaluate the Mother Perceived Support from Professionals (MoPPS) scale. Methods. A qualitative design involving both inductive and deductive approaches was chosen. Nine first-time mothers were interviewed regarding their experiences of the breastfeeding support offered by pediatric nurses. Semistructured interviews were conducted. The mothers were also asked to grade their experiences of breastfeeding support on the MoPPS scale. A qualitative content analysis was applied when analyzing the data obtained using both the inductive (interviews) and deductive (MoPPS scale) approaches. Results. The results revealed that the mothers felt the desire to breastfeed, although they all experienced some difficulties. They wanted the pediatric nurses to be perceptive and provide professional support based on their own experiences. When the pediatric nurses took time and booked extra appointments, the mothers felt supported. The inductive analysis resulted in one theme: “When wanting to breastfeed, mothers have a desire to be offered professional breastfeeding support”. Two main categories were identified, namely “Mothers wanted but lacked breastfeeding support” and “Mothers received professional support.” The deductive analysis of the MoPPS scale showed similar results, and the questions were perceived as relevant to the aim. The mothers considered it important that the pediatric nurses had sufficient knowledge about breastfeeding. It was also considered important that the pediatric nurses involved the mothers’ partners in the breastfeeding support. Therefore, we suggest that these areas should be included in the MoPPS scale for pediatric nurses. Conclusions. The MoPPS scale can be a useful tool for helping pediatric nurses to offer mothers professional breastfeeding support. Indeed, when offering breastfeeding support, pediatric nurses can use the items included on the MoPPS scale as guidance.
