As more distributed approaches like those employed in broadband replace traditional methods of powering telecommunication networks, maintaining the present high levels of reliability and availability while minimizing cost requires that a thorough network analysis be conducted as an integral part of the design process. We present an analysis methodology for broadband power network design and illustrate it using examples. We also demonstrate how such analyses can be very useful, especially in the early planning and architecture determination stages, by providing comparisons between powering voltages with different waveforms. This paper presents a general small-signal stability analysis of paralleled converter systems. The framework specializes to include both the 'democratic' and 'master-slave' current-sharing schemes. Design examples illustrate how to obtain stable current sharing. We show how paralleled converters can become unstable (even when active current sharing is absent) and discuss the influence of the number of converters paralleled.
