Abstract

All-solid-state lithium batteries without any liquid organic electrolytes can realize high energy density while eliminating flammability issues. Active materials with high specific capacity and favorable interfacial contact within the cathode layer are crucial to the realization of good electrochemical performance. Herein, we report a high-capacity polysulfide cathode material, MoS6@15%Li7P3S11, with a particle size of 1–4 μm. The MoS6 exhibited an impressive initial specific capacity of 913.9 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1. When coupled with the Li7P3S11 electrolyte coating layer, the resultant MoS6@15%Li7P3S11 composite showed improved interfacial contact and an optimized ionic diffusivity range from 10−12–10−11 cm2 s−1 to 10−11–10−10 cm2 s−1. The Li/Li6PS5Cl/MoS6@15%Li7P3S11 all-solid-state lithium battery delivered ultra-high initial and reversible specific capacities of 1083.8 mAh g−1 and 851.5 mAh g−1, respectively, at a current density of 0.1 A g−1 within 1.0–3.0 V. Even under 1 A g−1, the battery maintained a reversible specific capacity of 400 mAh g−1 after 1000 cycles. This work outlines a promising cathode material with intimate interfacial contact and superior ionic transport kinetics within the cathode layer as well as high specific capacity for use in all-solid-state lithium batteries. Abstract

The all‐solid‐state lithium–sulfur battery is considered to be a promising energy device due to high energy density and excellent safety. However, sulfur suffers from its insulating nature and large volume changes. Employing transition‐metal sulfide cathodes is an attractive alternative. Herein, a high energy density sulfur‐rich MoS6‐based nanocomposite is designed, where MoS6 nanospheres are homogenously anchored on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by a wet‐chemical method, providing improved electronic conductivity and reduced volume changes. In addition, a nanosized Li7P3S11 electrolyte is in situ coated on the surface of MoS6‐CNT20 to realize intimate interface contact and form nanoscale electronic/ionic transportation networks. The resultant MoS6‐CNT20@15%Li7P3S11 composite shows high electronic conductivity (1.7 × 10−1 S cm−1) and ionic conductivity (6.7 × 10−4 S cm−1), which are eight and three orders of magnitude improved compared to those of MoS6. The Li/Li6PS5Cl/MoS6‐CNT20@15%Li7P3S11 battery exhibits an initial discharge capacity of 1034.32 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1. In addition, an ultrahigh reversible energy density of 1640 Wh kg−1 for the active material can be realized, which is the highest among all transition‐metal sulfide cathodes. Moreover, it shows a reversible capacity of 550.00 mAh g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 after 1000 cycles, demonstrating that the sulfur‐rich MoS6‐based nanocomposite is a promising highenergy density cathode material for next‐generation all‐solid‐state lithium batteries. Abstract

A novel fluorescent sensor (L) based on 1,8-naphthalic anhydride has been developed which can selectively detect Cu2+ in CH3CN medium over other metal ions at 408 nm in the fluorescence spectra. When Cu2+ was added into L, L showed fluorescent turn-off by coordinating with Cu2+. A fresh absorption band was found at the position of 290 nm as was a red-shifted absorption band from 356 nm to 376 nm in UV-vis spectra which might be attributed to the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT). Meanwhile, L-Cu2+ showed fluorescence quenching via photoinduced electron transfer (PET). The complexation ratio was proposed to be 1:1 which was determined by Job's plot, fluorescence titration and 1H NMR titration. The detection limit was 9.1 × 10−8 mol·L−1, a satisfying level to detect Cu2+ in the micromolar scale. Corresponding molecular geometries, orbital energies and electron contributions of sensor L were calculated by the DMol3 program package using the density functional theory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

43. Ce(III)-modulation over non-enzymatic Pt/CeO2/GO biosensor with outstanding sensitivity and stability for lactic acid detection

Abstract

A series of non-enzymatic graphene functionalized biosensors was developed via deposition precipitation method for lactic acid (LA) detection, which were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR). The electrochemical performances of the non-enzymatic biosensors were measured by means of the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) method. The comprehensive analysis of structures shows that Pt, CeO2, and GO components interact with each other. During the storing and releasing oxygen, the valence ratio of Ce3+/Ce4+and the number of oxygen vacancies in CeO2change accordingly, which can be conducive to increasing electronic transmission capacity and finally leads to the improvement of electrocatalytic performance. Among them, the Pt/CeO2/GO biosensor containing 0.47 at% platinum exhibits an excellent electrochemical detection performance with high sensitivity of 12.3 µA⋅L/ (mmol∙cm2) and a low limit of detection (LOD) of 5.12 μmol/L in a wide linear range from 10 to 900 μmol/L. In addition, the proposed biosensor possesses a promising anti-interference capability, as well as high stability and good reproducibility, which was assessed by testing the cyclic voltammogram in 0.1 mol/L lactic acid one year later. The underlying mechanism was proposed for electrochemical oxidation of LA to carbon dioxide and acetic acid with the synergistic effect among Pt, CeO2, and GO. Furthermore, the results of the standard addition method in real samples (human serum and urine samples) reveal that the lactic acid detection of the non-enzymatic Pt/CeO2/GO biosensor is accompanied by high reliability. Thus, it will be a valuable biosensor for in vitrodetection of lactic acid level in clinical samples.

46. A novel colorimetric fluorescence sensor for Fe3+ based on quinoline Schiff base.

Abstract

A novel fluorescent sensor bearing a quinoline and an anisidine moiety has been developed for highly selective detection of Fe3+, which shows photo-induced electron transfer (PET) behavior induced by Fe3+. Binding of Fe3+ to the sensor induced the electron of C = N group transfer from quinoline to iron, the result exhibits fluorescent enhancement. With the features of easy synthesis, simple structural skeleton and excellent sensing ability, the newly synthesized chemosensor also applied as a highly selective fluorescent probe in complex samples containing various competitive metal ions.
