10. Tau Aggregation‐Dependent Lipid Peroxide Accumulation Driven by the hsa_circ_0001546/14‐3‐3/CAMK2D/Tau Complex Inhibits Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Peritoneal Metastasis.

Abstract

Intraperitoneal dissemination is the main method of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) metastasis, which is related to poor prognosis and a high recurrence rate. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a novel class of endogenous RNAs with covalently closed loop structures that are implicated in the regulation of tumor development. In this study, hsa_circ_0001546 is downregulated in EOC primary and metastatic tissues vs. control tissues and this phenotype has a favorable effect on EOC OS and DFS. hsa_circ_0001546 can directly bind with 14‐3‐3 proteins to act as a chaperone molecule and has a limited positive effect on 14‐3‐3 protein stability. This complex recruits CAMK2D to induce the Ser324 phosphorylation of Tau proteins, changing the phosphorylation status of Tau bound to 14‐3‐3 and ultimately forming the hsa_circ_0001546/14‐3‐3/CAMK2D/Tau complex. The existence of this complex stimulates the production of Tau aggregation, which then induces the accumulation of lipid peroxides (LPOs) and causes LPO‐dependent ferroptosis. In vivo, treatment with ferrostatin‐1 and TRx0237 rescued the inhibitory effect of hsa_circ_0001546 on EOC cell spreading. Therefore, based on this results, ferroptosis caused by Tau aggregation occurs in EOC cells, which is not only in Alzheimer's disease‐ or Parkinson's disease‐related cells and this kind of ferroptosis driven by the hsa_circ_0001546/14‐3‐3/CAMK2D/Tau complex is LPO‐dependent rather than GPX4‐dependent is hypothesized. Abstract

Crystal transformation of metal compound cathodes during charge/discharge processes in alkali metal‐ion batteries usually generates profound impact on structural stability and electrochemical performance, while the theme in anode materials, which always occurs and completes during the first redox cycle, is rarely explored probably due to the fast transformation dynamics. Herein, for the first time, a unique crystal transformation behavior with slow dynamics in anode of sodium‐ion batteries (SIBs) is reported, which further promotes electrochemical performance. Specifically, irreversible γ → β crystal transformation of In2Se3 is observed, induced by the persistent size degradation of In2Se3 particles during repeated sodiation/desodiation, supported by a series of ex situ characterizations, such as HRTEM, XRD, and XPS of γ‐In2Se3/reduced graphene oxide (γ‐In2Se3@rGO) nanocomposite. The hybrid electrode shows ultrahigh long‐term cycling stability (378 mA h g−1 at 1.0 A g−1 after 1000 cycles) and excellent rate capability (272 mA h g−1 at 20.0 A g−1). Full battery with Na3V2(PO4)3 cathode also manifests superior performance, promising β‐In2Se3 dominated electrode materials in high‐power and long‐life SIBs. The first‐principle calculations suggest the crystal transformation enhances electric conductivity of β‐In2Se3 and facilitates its accessibility to sodium. In combination with the synergistic effect between rGO matrix, substantially enhanced electrochemical performance is realized. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

«Oriental diction» is an important exotic element of Byron’s poem The Bride of Abydos. Using Oriental words that jarred with English poetry of early 19th century, and accompanying them with extensive notes, Byron gave his poem an experimental and scholarly character. While translating the English poem into Russian, I. I. Kozlov chose a creative approach to the problem of reproducing the Oriental diction (the exotic and bizarre words, style and poetics were somewhat downplayed), the reasons being the originality of the Russian culture of the early 19th century and Kozlov’s own literary taste.

Abstract

High cancer mortality is attributed to metastasis to a large extent. However, cancer metastasis remains devoid of dynamic monitoring and early prevention in terms of current advances in diagnostic means and therapeutic modalities. Meanwhile, studies have shown that reciprocal crosstalk among cells via exosomes plays a critical role in maintaining normal physiological state or triggering disease progression, including cancer metastasis. Therefore, in this review, we focus on the latest literature (primarily from 2018) to summarize action mechanisms and experimental studies of exosomes in cancer metastasis and put forward some problems as well as new outlooks of these studies.

42. Prognostic Hub Genes in the Immune Microenvironment of Lung Adenocarcinoma by Estimation

Abstract

Background: The mortality of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is high. Recent studies have found that the degree of immune infiltration and stromal cells in the tumour microenvironment or tumours makes a significant contribution to prognosis. Methods: During the study, we screened differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of the TCGA database for prognostic genes in the LUAD immune microenvironment. Furthermore, immune and stromal cells were quantified using the ESTIMATE algorithm. To study the effects of immune and stromal cell-associated genes on the prognosis of LUAD, LUAD patients were divided into high and low groups according to their immune/stromal scores. The obtained scores were found to be related to the phenotype and survival rate of LUAD patients. By selecting DEGs with high expression in immune and stromal cells, we performed functional enrichment analysis and found that most genes are associated with pathways of cancer, stimulus response and MAPK signaling. The functions and enriched pathways of LUAD prognostic genes were shown by a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. Nonetheless, an external database was used to validate the prognostic genes from the TCGA. Results: Prognostic genes were listed according to their expression position and protein function. Conclusion: We provided new targets for immunotherapy of LUAD, which further provide basic knowledge for future clinical research.

Abstract

Serial numbers identification of RMB (the name of Chinese paper currency) is a nonlinear and high dimensions pattern recognition problem which sample is limited. It is one of many difficulty problems in pattern recognition. It also has great research and practical value. This thesis studies the multi-class optimize algorithm in statistical learning theory, analyzes SMOD algorithm and its precondition of serial number recognition. It applies the support vector machine into the serial number's machine recognition of paper currency. It puts forward the theory of serial number identification which based on SVM method, establishes the identification process of identification by SVM. Then we write the number identification algorithm and carrying on simulation test. The experimental results proved that sequential minimal optimized SVM has fairly low computing load and high precision of recognition. It fully shows the advantages of SVM in solving limited samples, non-linear and high dimension pattern recognition problems. Compared to neural network and fuzzy theory algorithm, its computing load is fairly low. So it can be easily realized with embedded controller.
