Quorum sensing is a mechanism that facilitates cell-to-cell communication. Through signal molecular density for signal recognition, which leads to the regulation of some physiological and biochemical functions. Gluconacetobacter xylinus CGMCC 2955, which produces bacterial cellulose (BC), synthesizes the LuxR protein belonging to the LuxI/LuxR type QS system. Here, a luxR overexpression vector was transformed into G. xylinus CGMCC 2955. The overexpression of luxR increased the yield of BC by 15.6% after 16 days static culture and reduced the cell density by 15.5% after 120-h-agitated culture. The glucose was used up by G. xylinus-pMV24-luxR at 72-h-agitated fermentation, which 12 h earlier than the wild-type (WT). Cytogenetics was established based on the "Chromosome theory of inheritance", proposed by Boveri and Sutton and evidenced by Morgan's lab in early stage of the 2020世纪初“遗传的染色体学说”的提出和证明标志着细胞遗传学交叉学科建立,伴随相关学科的发展,20世纪60年代末期细胞遗传学又与分子遗传学相结合,建立发展了分子细胞遗传学交叉学科。分子细胞遗传学以DNA分子原位杂交技术为核心,不断拓展应用领域,为生命科学研究提供了直观、高效的技术手段。原位杂交技术与基因组、细胞生物学等技术结合,被广泛应用于人类、动物、植物的起源、进化、驯化等基础研究和远缘杂交、染色体工程等应用研究。通过形象地展示DNA、RNA、蛋白质在细胞中的实际位置,揭示DNA序列之间的实际位置和顺序、亲缘物种间的进化关系和结构重排、基因组拼接序列的质量、转录水平RNA和翻译水平蛋白质的位置和数量变化等。江苏省遗传学会会员单位南京农业大学、扬州大学、南京林业大学、江苏师范大学、徐淮地区农科院等自20世纪中期开展细胞遗传学理论技术研究,伴随学科发展不断创新,建立了较完善的分子细胞遗传技术体系,并成功应用于开展植物系统进化、远缘杂交、染色体工程、基因组学等研究,取得了一批研究成果。本文将主要综述江苏省在该领域取得的重要进展,并展望未来发展方向。.

Introduction. To identify and analyze factors that influence administration, recognition, and compliance of medicine among community residents in Jilin Province, China. Methods. A survey was carried out among 2417 community residents in Jilin Province, China, to study their administration (CRA), recognition (CRR), and compliance (CRC) of medicine. Multivariate logistic regression analyses and chi-squared tests were performed to assess factors influencing CRA, CRR, and CRC. Results. Logistic analyses showed that gender, educational level, and occupation were influencing factors on CRA; age, educational level, smoking status, and health condition were influencing factors on CRR; and gender, age, occupation, and health condition were influencing factors on CRC. Conclusions. CRA, CRR, and CRC are associated with specific lifestyles and social economic statuses of community residents. Attention should be paid to influencing factors in order to facilitate community pharmaceutical care, promote the rational use of drugs, and ensure the safe use of medications. This study explores the type and extent of professional services provided through community pharmacies in Jilin Province, China, and provides evidence for optimizing the quality of community pharmacy services.

Whole genome duplication, a prevalent force of evolution in plants, results in massive genome restructuring in different organisms. Roles of the resultant duplicated genes are poorly understood, both functionally and evolutionarily. In the present study, differentially expressed ethylene responsive factors (GhERF1s), anchored on Chr-A07 and Chr-D07, were isolated from a high-yielding cotton hybrid (XZM2) and its parents. The GhERF1 was located in the B3 subgroup of the ethylene responsive factors subfamily involved in conferring tolerance to abiotic stress. Nucleotide sequence analysis of 524 diverse accessions, together with quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis, elucidated that de-functionalization of GhERF1-7A occurred due to one base insertion following formation of the allotetraploid cotton. Our quantitative trait loci and association mapping analyses highlighted a role for GhERF1-7A in conferring high boll number per plant in modern cotton cultivars. Overexpression of GhERF1-7A in transgenic Arabidopsis resulted in a substantial increase in the number of siliques and total seed yield. Neo-functionalization of GhERF1-7A was also observed in modern cultivars rather than in races and/or landraces, further supporting its role in the development of high-yielding cotton cultivars. Both de- and neo-functionalization occurred in one of the duplicate genes, thus providing new genomic insight into the evolution of allotetraploid cotton species.

β-1,4-glucosidase (BG, EC3.2.1.21), one of three cellulases, is a widespread family of enzymes involved in the metabolism of cell wall polysaccharides in both prokaryocytes and eukaryotes. Here, we report the isolation of a full-length cDNA encoding β-1,4-glucosidase protein (designated as GhBG) and its putative function in the process of fiber development and in yeast. Through random sequencing of the cotton fiber cDNA library from 7235 germplasm line, with elite fiber quality in Gossypium hirsutum L. and utilizing the 5′ rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) technique, a 2133 bp cDNA clone encoding a cotton fiber specifically expressed protein (accession number: DQ103699) was isolated. GhBG was composed of a 1884 bp open reading frame (ORF) encoding 627 amino acid residues. This putative protein had an isoelectric point of 8.17, a calculated molecular weight of 68.78 KD and a signal peptide with 23 amino acid residues at the N-terminal. Background and Aim: Recurrent laryngeal nerve injury is a common severe complication in neck surgery, which can cause varying degrees of vocal fold paralysis and respiratory tract problems. In present study, the effects of laminin-binding brain derived neurotrophic factor (LBD-BDNF) on recurrent laryngeal nerve regeneration were explored and its possible mechanism was investigated. Methods: LBD-BDNF or NAT-BDNF (BDNF without LBD binding) treatment was performed in laryngeal nerve injured rabbits for sixteen weeks. The laryngeal nerve was removed, and histological examination as well as laryngeal electromyography was employed to evaluate its morphology and function of conduction. PC12 cells were cultured to investigate the mechanisms underlying the effects of LBD-BDNF. Neurite outgrowth, proliferation and migration were determined in nerve cells. The expression of miRNAs and protein of mTOR was quantified by real-time PCR and western blotting respectively. Results: In vivo experiments, LBD-BDNF significantly improved the histological structure and function of recurrent laryngeal nerve compared with NAT-BDNF. LBD-BDNF also markedly promoted neurite outgrowth, proliferation and migration in PC12 cells in vitro experiments. The levels of miR-222 and p-mTOR were up-regulated by LBD-BDNF treatment in both in vivo and in vitro experiments. miR-222 inhibitor attenuated the expression of phosphorylated mTOR and miR-222 mimic enhanced its expression in PC12 cells. In addition, the improved nerve conduction by LBD-BDNF was canceled by miR-222 inhibitor, and the mTOR inhibitor reversed the effects of miR-222 inhibitor on LBD-BDNF treated cells. Conclusions: The present study revealed that LBD-BDNF promoted the recurrent laryngeal nerve regeneration in laryngeal nerve injured rabbits. The underlying mechanism was closely related to activation of p-mTOR by miR-222.

ATP-binding cassette, subfamily G, member 2 (ABCG2) overexpression has been associated with multidrug resistance and cancer progression by promoting proliferation and/or suppressing apoptosis, but how this process happens remains to be determined. In this study, the roles and the mechanisms of ABCG2 in the progression of Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) were investigated. We found that introduction of ABCG2 siRNA into Hep-2 and Hep-2T cells significantly enhanced the intracellular accumulation of mitoxantrone (MX). Down-regulation of ABCG2 by transient RNAi inhibited cell proliferation and blocked cell cycle progression by regulating the expression of cyclin D3 and p21 Cip1. ABCG2 silence also induced cell apoptosis by regulating the expression of surviving, bcl-2 and the cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) in Hep-2 and Hep-2T cells. ABCG2-specific inhibitor, fumitremorgin C (FTC), and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway inhibitor, U0126, inhibited cell proliferation and promoted cell apoptosis by degrading endogenous ABCG2 in Hep-2T cells. Furthermore, inhibition of MAPK pathway by U0126 enhanced anti-cancer effects of MX in vivo. In conclusion, suppression of ABCG2 inhibits the procession of LSCC tumor growth by regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis. Our data also provide more evidence for the importance of the MAPK pathway as a suitable therapeutic target for LSCC.

In view of the controversies surrounding the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)–allergic rhinitis (AR) association, a systematic review and meta-analysis of the ACE genetic association studies of AR was performed in Chinese populations. PubMed, Springer Link, OvidSP, Chinese biomedical database, Chinese national knowledge infrastructure, Chinese VIP and Wanfang databases were searched for related studies. A total of 4 studies including 415 AR patients and 309 controls were involved in this meta-analysis. Overall, significant association was found between ACE I/D polymorphism and AR risk when all studies in Chinese populations pooled into the meta-analysis (allele, OR 1.50, 95 % CI 1.19–1.90; homozygous, OR 2.59, 95 % CI 1.52–4.41, recessive, OR 2.05, 95 % CI 1.27–3.32). In the subgroup analysis by ethnicity, ACE I/D polymorphism was associated with significant elevated risks of AR in Chinese Han under homozygous and recessive models (homozygous, OR 4.36, 95 % CI 1.76–10.82, recessive, OR 2.51, 95 % CI 1.18–5.34). In conclusion, this meta-analysis provides the evidence that ACE I/D polymorphism may contribute to the AR development in Chinese populations and studies with large sample size and wider spectrum of population are warranted to verify this finding.

To discuss the effect of repairing of palatum durum defects following maxillectomy using nasal septum tissue flap.Twenty-six patients underwent maxillectomy and the defects were repaired by using full (16 cases) and partial (10 cases) nasal septum tissue flaps.Twenty-one patients were healed by first intention, recovering swallowing and pronunciation function. Five patients suffered from fistula holes, and 2 healed after dressing while 2 of the other 3 patients healed after second suturing with 1 still got a small fistula hole. Facial deformity include 4 exterior cheek mild concave and 6 complained about unsuited false teeth and no dorsal subsidence was found. The 3, 5, 10 year survival rate was 46.2%, 30.8% and 11.5% respectively.Repairing defects with nasal septum tissue flap has advantages. Nasal septum can not be invaded easily, and the material can be got with ease, with rich blood supply, being resistant to infection, easy to heal and less chance of leading to fistula holes. With the cartilage of nasal septum as support, facial deformity can be reduced. And the method is worth spreading and exploiting.

To explore the feasibility and effectiveness of the approaches and methodology of the endoscopic surgery for maxillary sinus lesions through the medial wall of the maxillary sinus.From Jun. 2003 to Aug. 2010, endoscopic surgery through anterior or posterior nasolacrimal duct approaches to remove maxillary sinus lesions were conducted in 139 patients. Among them there were 43 cases with inverted papilloma, 63 cases with fungal maxillary sinusitis, 28 cases with maxillary sinus cyst, 3 cases with hemorrhagic necrotic polyps, and 2 cases with osteomas. All patients underwent preoperative CT scans, and patients with inverted papillomas also had MRI tests. Anterior-nasolacrimal canal paths included 3 ways: pyriform aperture, lacrimal bone recess (dissecting nasolacrimal duct or not were 2 subtypes), pyriform aperture-nasolacrimal duct approaches, and 97 patients were treated. Posterior-nasal lacrimal duct paths were also divided into 3 subtypes: the inferior turbinate flip flap, double pedicle inferior turbinate, single pedicle inferior turbinate, and 42 patients were treated. The postoperative effects were observed.All lesions were completely removed under endoscope, the nasolacrimal ducts and inferior turbinates were protected, no nasal lacrimal duct injury and inferior turbinate necrosis were found. Postoperative nasal congestion, headache, swelling discomfort, strange odor, dental pain and numbness and other symptoms gradually disappeared. Nine patients felt nasal dryness, and after nasal washing for about 1 month, the symptom gradually disappeared. Patients were followed up for 6 months to 79 months. In case of osteoma, and hemorrhagic and necrotic polyps, no recurrences were found. Apparent edema, hypertrophy of sinus mucosa could be seen during the surgery in all patients with fungal maxillary sinusitis, and the edema gradually disappeared after 3 months or so, with no relapse. Two cases of maxillary sinus cysts were found in other parts of the maxillary sinus 10 months and 18 months after the surgery, but the cysts were small and asymptomatic, so no further management needed, and they were still under follow-up. Three patients, recurred. In 1 case with inverted papilloma, a local lump on the opening were found 17 months after the surgery, and was removed in out-patient department and pathology showed papillary tumor recurrence, no relapse was found 1 year later; 1 patient had recurrence in anterior ethmoid sinus 15 months after operation, total ethmoidectomy was done and no relapse was found in 3 years. One patient had local recurrence in the posterolateral wall of the maxillary sinus 26 months after operation, and the secondary surgery was done via single pedicle inferior turbinate. The papilloma relapsed again after 1 year, an endoscopic Denker surgery was performed, with no recurrence after 18 months of follow-up. Three months after surgery, the maxillary sinus was scar-covered in all cases. Inferior turbinate maintained good shape, compared to those with inferior nasal meatus windowing surgery. Scars were significantly smaller, but no latch or obstruction of drainage were found.Endoscopic maxillary sinus surgery through anterior or posterior nasolacrimal duct approach can reduce the trauma, fully expose the sinuses, and facilitate postoperative treatment and review with a window. Retained inferior nasal turbinate is helpful to avoid dryness, crusting, headache and other complications due to too much removal of nasal exteral walls.

To discuss the methodology and therapeutic effect of hyoid suspension in association with uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) in the treatment of severe obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).Sixty-nine patients with severe OSAHS (apnea hyponea index, AHI30) were treated with hyoid suspension and UPPP. Sixty-one patients were followed for 6 months (48 of them for 12 months). Polysomnogram (PSG) tests were performed and an Epworth sleepiness scale (ESS) was recorded preoperatively and postoperatively in these patients.After the surgery,the snoring of the patients disappeared or was alleviated to varing degrees. Eighteen patients underwent fiberoptic nasopharyngolaryngoscopic examination. Twelve of them showed palatopharyngeal and glossopharyngeal stenosis was improved 6 months after surgery. Six patients showed no change, but had no glossoptosis. Fourteen patients underwent fiberoptic nasopharyngolaryngoscopic examination 1 year after surgery, with no recurrence of the stenosis being found. A decrease of 50% in the AHI was considered effective, and in patients the effective rate was 78.7% (48/61) 6 months after the operation and 75.0% (36/48) 1 year after the operation. The average AHI decreased from 44.8 to 15.1 and 17.2, and the minimum arterial oxygen saturation average increased from 0.512 to 0.880 and 0.730. Matching t tests were utilized and the results of follow-up indicated that there was a significant improvement in the indexes in those cases which could be followed up (P0.01). The average of the ESS was 6.7 six months after operation and 7.2 one year after operation, with a significant decrease compared to the preoperative (16.6) data (P0.01).Modified hyoid suspension in association with UPPP has the advantage of a simple operation, short hospitalization and less expense, and the effect of the operation was significant. Patients with palatopharyngeal and glossopharyngeal stenosis should be chosen for this operation.

A procedure for simultaneous identification and quantification of canrenone and its biotransformed product 11- α-hydroxy-canrenone by high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detector (HPLC-UVD) and mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods was proposed. The optimal determination variables on the HPLC-UVD or LC-MS coupled with a ZORBAX Eclipse XDB-C18 column (150 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) were set as follows: detection wavelength of 280 nm, mobile phase of water and methanol gradient elution, temperature for the chromatographic column of 30°C, flow rate of mobile phase of 0.8 mL/min, sample injection volume of 5 μL, and elution time of 40 min. The MS conditions were set as follows: the flow rate of sheath gas, aux gas, and sweep gas were kept at 35 arb, 5 arb, and 0 arb, respectively. The temperature of capillary was held at 300°C, and capillary voltage was set at 30.00 V. Tube lens were performed at 100.00 V. The proposed method was validated by linearity ( 𝑟 2 ≥ 0.9910), average recovery (94.93%, RSD1.21%), precision (RSD ≤ 1.31%), limit of detection, and limit of quantification (LOD 0.1~0.12 mg/L, LOQ 0.5~0.67 mg/L), which proved to be affordable for simultaneously determining canrenone and its bio-transformed product 11- α-hydroxy-canrenone.

RT-PCR analysis indicated GhBG was specifically expressed in fiber cells and was highly abundant in 5-17 day post anthesis (DPA). It was not, however, expressed in root, hypocotyls or leaves. Southern blotting analysis showed there were two copies of GhBG in the upland cotton genome; most likely contained in sub-genome A and sub-genome D. GhBG was then integrated into a yeast expression vector, pREP-5N and electro-transformed into fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe Q-01. The results demonstrated that GhBG led to a significant increase in cell length and width and a remarkable decrease of the length/width ratio. Compared to vector control transformants, cells were significantly larger and rounder and their growth velocity was also reduced.

To analyze the relationship between pharyngeal paraesthesia and abnormal styloid process, and to evaluate the surgery outcome.One hundred and four patients with styloid process abnormality, especially those with pharyngeal paraesthesia were studied preoperatively and postoperatively.Among 104 patients who complained about foreign body sensation of the pharynx and a sore throat, after partial removal of styloid process, 71.2% (74/104) cured (symptoms disappeared), 12.5% (13/104) improved, while 16.3% (17/104) had no improvement. The responding rate was 83.7% (87/104).Not all abnormality of styloid process subjects would have pharyngeal paraesthesia, so for this kind of cases a more comprehensive analysis is necessary. Surgery via mouth is preferable.

Based on two major QTLs that control high fiber strength which originated from an elite fiber germ-plasm line 7235 (Gossypium hiusutum L.), the efficiency of molecular marker-assisted selection (MAS) was investigated using two populations from pedigree selection and modified backcrossing pyramiding developed for the breeding purpose. Simian 3 (SM3), a widely planted variety in the Yangtze River Valley, and 7235 were used as parents to develop the two populations. In the two major QTLs for fiber strength from 7235, QTLfs-1 could explain more than 30% of the phenotypic variation (PV) in the (7235 x TM-1) F2 population. QTLfs-2 was at first identified in another super quality fiber line HS427-10 from (HS427-10 x TM-1) F2 population with 12.5% of PV explanation,which was further also identified in 7235 line but was non-allelic with QTLfs-1. The result of molecular marker-assisted selection for fiber strength showed that the genetic effect of the QTLfs-1 was stable under different environmental conditions, and its molecular marker-assisted selection showed significant selective efficiency among breeding populations with different genetic backgrounds. QTLfs-2 also showed high selective efficiency in advanced generation populations though its effect was a little lower than the former. When QTLfs-1 was selected simultaneously with 2 molecular markers with known genetic distance, the selection efficiency for the fiber strength was greatly increased. The pyramiding for two QTLs that control high fiber strength by MAS greatly improved the selection efficiency for cotton fiber strength. This report provides a successful example of MAS pyramiding for QTL for favorable traits in breeding programs.

Twenty cross combinations were produced using a complete diallel-mating system with five varieties or lines that differed in fiber properties in Upland cotton to determine the inheritance and breeding merits of superior fiber properties. Evaluations of parents and F1 ' s were conducted in two years. The results showed that fiber length uniformity was greatly affected by environmental factors, whereas the other fiber properties were mainly controlled by genetic factors. There were no significant interaction effect of environment with genotype for fiber strength or length, but there were significant environment interactions with additive and maternal affects for Micronaire, and with the dominance effects for elongation. There were no maternal effect, and additive effects predominated for the all fiber properties. Additive heritability was high for fiber strength and length, 77.6% and 73.2% respectively; for Micronaire, it was 45.2%, while the dominance effect was 11.5%, which was the highest among fiber properties. Micronaire had significant heterosis over mid-parent based on population mean (3.2%), while the other fiber properties showed no heterosis. Therefore, the performance of fiber properties in F1 ' s can be predicted from the average value of both parents. Since the additive heritability of strength, length, and fineness of fiber were high, these traits can be selected in early generations in breeding for high quality fiber properties.

By using the method of PCR-based cDNA library screening, two beta-mannosidase clones, GhManA1 and GhManA2, had been isolated. GhManA1 had a length of 2692 bp coding for a polypeptide of 834 amino acids, and GhManA2 was 3209 bp which encoded a polypeptide of 976 amino acids. GhManA1 and GhManA2 shared an identical sequence of 747 amino acids in their carboxyl-terminals, but were distinctly different in their amino-terminals. Both beta-mannosidases were members of glycosyl hydrolase family 2, which had two conserved glutamine residues in their sequences as the acid-base catalyst and nucleophilic group, respectively. Most surprisingly, the first 93 amino acids in the amino-terminal of GhManA1 was highly homologous to the beta-barrel domain of ATP synthase alpha-/beta-subunit, but an analogous domain has never been found in the sequence of other non-ATP synthase protein. GhManA1 was constitutively expressed in different cotton tissues, and GhManA2 was specifically expressed in fiber cells.

A new full-length cDNA clone was isolated from the fiber cDNA library of Gossypium hirsutum L. The cDNA, designated GhbZIP,encoded a polypeptide of 645 amino acids. GhbZIP protein had the structure characteristics of plant bZIP proteins, including two conserved domains, DUF630 and DUF632 with unknown functions, a proline-rich domain and a phenylalanine-rich domain. Meanwhile, the protein contained a leucine zipper-like motif in DUF632. The hydropathy analysis showed that the GhbZIP was a membrane protein. GhbZIP gene was preferentially expressed in ovule and fiber cells since three days post-anthesis, as indicated it might be involved in the transcription regulation of genes during cotton fiber elongation.

A full-length cotton cDNA,designated GhCtp, was isolated from Gossypium hirsutum L. by the PCR-based cDNA library screening. The cDNA encodes a polypeptide of 473-amino acid residues. Sequence alignment showed that GhCtp was highly homologous to a family of carboxyl-terminal proteases (Ctp) from other species. GhCtp is a potential transmembrane protease, and comprises a conserved domain numbered DUF239 at its carboxyl-terminal and an arginine-rich region at the amino-terminal, respectively. Furthermore, there is a putative ATP-/GTP-binding site motif A (P-loop) in GhCtp which do not exist in Ctps of Arabidopsis and Oryza, indicating that GhCtp might function in a manner different from other Ctps. RT-PCR analysis suggested that GhCtp was not a fiber-specific or -preferential gene, and had a low expression level in different tissues or developmental stages of cotton.

The modern textile industry depends on the improvement of fiber quality, especially strength to meet the needs of higher spinning speed. Inheritance of super quality fiber properties in Upland cotton was conducted in the present paper. P1, P2, F1, B1, B2 and F2 of eight crosses from five parents with different fiber strength, i.e. 7235 x TM1, TM1 x 7235, HS42 x TM1, PD69 x TM1, MD51 x TM1, 7235 x HS42, 7235 x PD69 and HS42 x PD69, and F2:3 for 7235 x TM1, were used in the study. The materials were planted in Nanjing or Hainan in 1998 and 1999, the individual plant fiber samples were tested with HVI system in Cotton Research Institute of CAAS at Anyang. The segregation analysis methods for major genes plus polygene mixed inheritance model developed by Gai were used to identify the genetic system of fiber qualities. The results from joint analyses of multiple segregating generations as well as single segregating generations, especially for F2:3, showed one major gene plus polygene mixed inheritance model in all fiber quality characters. The heritability values of major gene in F2 of 7235 x TM1 with great parent difference were estimated as 19.6% for fiber strength, 32.0% for micronaire and 13.9% for fiber length, but little in B1 and B2 for fiber qualities. The fiber length showed high and positive dominant effect, but negative value or zero of major or polygene dominant effects for other fiber qualities. Therefore, Mid-parent value or tendency to lower parent in F1 for most of fiber qualities lead to low selection efficiency, which suggests that molecular assisted selection should be considered at first in the improvement of fiber qualities.

Using interval mapping and marker simple regression methods, the QTLs of yield and its components in (Simian 3 x TM-1) F2 and F2:3, were tagged and Mapped with 39 SSR and 10 RAPD markers having polymorphism between parents screened from 301 pair SSR primers and 1040 RAPD primers. Simian 3 is being grown extensively in Yangtze River cotton-growing valley characterized as high productivity with more bolls and higher lint percent, whereas TM-1, Genetic standard in Upland cotton with more heavy boll weight. In the present report, two QTLs controlling boll size with 18.2% and 21.0% phenotype variance explained in F2:3 generation, one QTL controlling lint percent with 24.9% phenotype variance explained in F2 generation and 5.9% in F2:3 generation and one QTL controlling 100-seed weight with 15.6% phenotype variance explained in F2:3 generation were mapped in Chromosome 9. Additionally, another QTL responsible for 100-seed weight was identified and mapped at the same position in Chromosome 9 in F2:3 generation. It is worth for further to be studied whether it is one QTL for pleiotrophism or two closely linked QTLs. The molecular markers mapped and tagged closely with main QTLs of yield traits in this paper can be used for MAS in cotton high-yield breeding program.
