The electromagnetic spectrum between microwave and infrared light is termed the "terahertz (THz) gap," of which there is an urgent lack of feasible and efficient room-temperature (RT) THz detectors. Type-II Weyl semimetals (WSMs) have been predicted to host significant RT topological photoresponses in low-frequency regions, especially in the THz gap, well addressing the shortcomings of THz detectors. Supercritical water fluidized bed (SCWFB) reactors are designed to gasify biomass or coal with high efficiency. In this paper, the wall-to-bed heat transfer characteristics in SCWFB are studied using the computational fluid dynamics and discrete element method (CFD-DEM) coupled with a constant heat flux boundary. Two different methods are considered to deal with the multiphase heat flux boundary in CFD-DEM because there is currently no single widely accepted approach. Zhang’s method predicts a more accurate wall-to-bed heat transfer coefficient in SCWFB than Lattanzi’s method according to comparisons of the simulation results with an empirical correlation. The influences of temperature, pressure, velocity, and the solid phase properties, such as the particle diameter, particle heat capacity, particle thermal conductivity, and particle density, on the SCWFB wall-to-bed heat transfer characteristics are studied based on Zhang’s method. The simulation results help reveal the SCWFB heat transfer characteristics.

Christmas berry (Photinia × fraseri Dress), known as red tip photinia, is an important landscape color plant in South China (Zhu et al., 2021). In summer 2021, brown leaf spots of Christmas berry were observed with an incidence of 45-70% on the campus of Nanchang Institute of Technology, Jiangxi Province (28°41'32.61"N, 116°1'53.75"E), China. These spots have a negative influence on the photosynthetic activity and severely reduce the ornamental value of these plants. Lesions originally occurred on the margins or tips of the leaves as red patches (Figure 1 A) and then developed into irregular reddish-brown necrotic spots with yellow halos (Figure 1 B) that finally were grey lesions with dark brown ring circles surround with yellow halos (Figure 1 C). Ten leaf samples with typical symptoms from five plants were collected. The tissue between the healthy and necrotic area (ca. 5 mm × 5 mm) was cut with a sterile scalpel and surface sterilized in 70% alcohol for 45 s, followed by 2% NaClO for 2 min and washed in sterile deionized water three times, The sterilized leaf parts were placed on potato dextrose agar (PDA) and incubated at 25℃ for 3 to 5 days. A total of 28 fungal isolates were obtained from ten symptomatic leaves, which were classified into five species by morphological characteristics. Neofusicoccum was the genus with the highest isolation frequency (50%). For pathogenicity tests, healthy leaves of Christmas berry were surface-sterilized, wounded using a sterile needle and inoculated with mycelial plugs (6 mm in diameter) on the left site of the leaves. Five representative isolates were chosen and ten leaves were used for every isolate. The controls on the same leaves on the right side of the leaves were treated with sterile PDA plugs. All samples were placed in an artificial climate box (RH 90±3%, 27±1℃, 12 h light) for 3 days. Only the leaves inoculated with isolate NH7 showed dark brown leaf spots (Figure 1 D). The control leaves and those inoculated with the other four isolates remained symptomless. To confirm pathogenicity, mycelial plugs of isolate NH7 were applied on punctured leaves of Christmas berry in the field as the artificial climate box (Figure 1 E-H). Inoculation with a sterile PDA plug served as control. All the leaves were covered with plastic bags for 48 h to maintain high relative humidity. Seven days later, symptoms similar to those observed in the field developed on all leaves inoculated with isolated NH7, while the controls remained symptomless. To fulfill Koch's postulates, fungal isolates were reisolated from symptomatic leaves and identified by morphological and molecular characteristics. The colony of isolate NH7 developed aerial hyphae, which had a grey center surrounded by grey-white hyphae (Figure 1 I). Conidia were aseptate, primarily fusiform and measured 11.1-19.8 × 3.2-7.1 µm (n = 50) (Figure 1 J). For further confirmation of the identity, five genes, including ITS (White et al., 1990), RPB2 (Pavlic et al., 2009), tub2 (GlassDonaldson, 1995), and tef1 (CarboneKohn, 1999) were sequenced. The sequences were deposited in GenBank (OL584411 for ITS, OL606622 for ACT, OL694623 for tub2, OM141481 for RPB2 and OM141482 for tef1), Based on the phylogenetic tree analysis using IQ-TREE, isolate NH7 clustered with Neofusicoccum parvum (Figure 2). N. parvum has been reported to cause leaf spot disease on different plants including Myristica fragrans (Jayakumar et al., 2011), Ginkgo biloba (Mirhosseini et al., 2014), Vitis heyneana (Wu et al., 2015), rubber tree (Liu et al., 2017) and Geodorum eulophioides (Du et al., 2021). To our knowledge, this is the first report of N. parvum causing leaf spot disease on Christmas berry in China. As one of the most widely planted ornamental shrubs in China, the detailed knowledge of the pathogens targeting Christmas berry is critical.

In summer 2021, severe anthracnose symptoms were found on the leaves of C. hongkongensis in Nanchang Institute of Technology (28°41'32.61"N, 116°1'53.75"E), with an incidence estimated at 25% to 55%. The lesion occurred mostly on young leaves with irregular reddish-brown with yellowish halos (Figure 1 A, B and C). Samples were collected and isolated. After the pathogenicity tests in the greenhouse, isolates of C. siamense and C. gloeosporiodes were selected for field experiment. To confirm pathogenicity, mycelial plugs of isolate SL13 and SH15 were applied on punctured leaves of C. hongkongensis using a sterile needle in field. Inoculation with only a PDA plug served as controls. All the leaves were covered with plastic bags for 48 h maintain high relative humidity. Seven days later, symptoms similar to those observed in the field developed on all leaves inoculated with isolated SL13 and SH15 (Figure 1 E and F), while the controls remained symptomless. Conidia of isolate SL13 and SH15 hyaline, were usually aseptate, sometimes becoming 1-septate with age, smooth-walled and cylindrical with both ends obtusely rounded, which were measured 13.68-17.41 × 4.38-6.09 µm (n = 30) (Figure1 J) and 11.01-16.15 × 3.520-5.09 µm (n=30) (Figure 1 K), respectively. Sequences were deposited in GenBank with accession numbers of OL658843 and OL858837 for ITS, OL677435 and OL961567 for ACT, OL961569 and OL961568 for GAPDH, OL677434 and OL677437 for TUB2, OL677436 and OL961570 for CHS1, respectively. Based on the phylogenetic tree analysis using IQ-TREE, isolate SL13 and SH15 was clustered with C. siamense and C. gloeosporiodes, respectively. C. siamense has been reported to cause anthracnose on C. hongkongensis (Wang et al., 2021). To our knowledge, the first report of C. gloeosporiodes and Colletotrichum siamense causing anthracnose on C. hongkongensis in China.

With the aggrandizement scale of software system, the number of test cases has grown explosively. Test case prioritization (TCP) has been widely used in software testing to effectively improve testing efficiency. However, traditional TCP methods are mostly based on software code and they are difficult to apply to model-based testing. Moreover, existing model-based TCP techniques often do not take the likely distribution of faults into consideration, yet software faults are not often equally distributed in the system, and test cases that cover more fault prone modules are more likely to reveal faults so that they should be run with a higher priority. Therefore, in this paper, we provide a TCP approach based on Hidden Markov Model (HMM), to detect faults as earlier as possible and reduce the cost of modification. This approach consists of the following main parts: (1) transforming the Unified Modeling Language (UML) sequence diagram to HMM; (2) estimating the fault urgency according to fault priority and probability; (3) estimating the fault severity by analyzing the weight of the state in the HMM; (4) generating test case priority from fault urgency and fault severity, then prioritizing test case. The proposed approach is implemented on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) flight control system to perform TCP. The experimental results show that our proposed TCP approach can effectively enhance the probability of earlier fault detection and improve the efficiency and stability as compared to other prioritization techniques, such as original prioritization, random prioritization, additional prioritization and EPS-UML.

Layered nonstoichiometric vanadium oxides have aroused strong interest in energy conversion, storage, chemical catalysis, sensors, and optoelectronic devices. It is still a critical challenge to control unique atomic-layer constructions and oxygen-dependent multivalent states in layered metal oxides. Here, we demonstrate the layered nonstoichiometric V7O16 thin films with controlled multivalent states and crystalline phases obtained by the combination of atomic layer deposition (ALD) and oxygen-dependent crystallization. The nonstoichiometric composition and crystalline microstructures are dominated by the oxidation states of vanadium and the thicknesses of the pristine films during the formation of layered V7O16 thin films. Conventional photodetection converts light into electrical signals only in a single electromagnetic waveband. Multiband detection technology is highly desirable because it can handle multispectral information discrimination, identification, and processing. Current epitaxial solid-state multiband detection technologies are mainly within the IR wave range. Here, we report epitaxial indium antimonide on gallium arsenide for IR and millimeter/terahertz wave multiband photodetection. The photoresponse originates from interband transition in optoelectrical semiconductors for IR wave, and surface plasmon polaritons induced nonequilibrium electrons for a millimeter/terahertz wave. The detector shows a strong response for an IR wave with a cutoff wavelength of 6.85 μm and a blackbody detectivity of 1.8 × 10 9 Jones at room temperature. For a millimeter/terahertz wave, the detector demonstrates broadband detection from 0.032 THz (9.4 mm) to 0.330 THz (0.9 mm); that is, from K a to the W and G bands, with a noise equivalent power of 1.0 × 10 − 13 W Hz − 1 / 2 at 0.270 THz (1.1 mm) at room temperature. The detection performance is an order of magnitude better while decreasing the temperature to 170 K, the thermoelectric cooling level. Such detectors, capable of large scale and low cost, are promising for advanced uncooled multiband detection and imaging systems.

As an important industrial, pharmaceutical and evergreen shade tree (Singh and Jawaid 2012), the camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) has been coppiced in Jiangxi Province, China. From 2017 to 2020, we noticed many camphor trees with leaf spots, with an incidence estimated at 50 to 75%, which could severely inhibit leaf growth and reduce their biomass. A dark-green circle with a watery spot appeared on the infected leaves at the initial stage, and necrosis with forming shot-spots surrounded by yellow halos occurred (Figure 1 A). Five leaves with typical symptoms were sampled and washed with tap water for ca. 15 min. Isolation and morphological analysis were performed following the method of Bao et al. (2019). Among 61 fungal isolates, 49 showed the same culture characters. Colonies on PDA were villose and regular, the reverse was scarlet at the edge of the colony, which was ca. 8.75 cm after 7 days of inoculation (Figure 1 I). Chlamydospores were aseptate, dark brown, smooth, in chains or solitary, ellipsoidal to ovoid, 4.8-9.6 × 4.8-11.1 μm (Figure 1 J). The pycnidia were produced on PDA and varied from 47.4 to 85.8 µm (mean 60.2 µm) × 38.6 to 66.8 μm (mean 49.7 μm) (n = 17) (Figure 1 K). Conidia were hyaline, unicellular, elliptical to ovoid, 4.3-6.4 µm (mean 5.1 µm) × 2.3-3.3 µm (mean 2.8 µm) (n = 52) (Figure 1 L). Pathogenicity tests of isolate XW-9 was carried out in the field. Ten leaves were wounded with a sterilized insect needle and inoculated with mycelium plugs (7-mm diameter). Non-colonized PDA plugs served as the negative controlIn addition, conidial suspensions (105 conidia/mL) of isolate XW-9 were sprayed on surface-sterilized leaves with a further ten leaves being sprayed with sterile water as the control. Symptoms described in this study appeared in 100% of the mycelium-inoculated leaves and more than 80% of the conidium-inoculated leaves after 7 days post-inoculation (Figure 1 B-E). No symptoms were seen in the controls (Figure 1 C). Three days after inoculation, brown spots resembling those observed in the field developed on the inoculated leaves, and some lesions turned into shot holes on the infected leaves (Figure 1 G & H). However, no symptoms were observed on the controls (Figure 1 F). The fungus was re-isolated from the margins of the leaf spots and labelled P-XW-9A. The gene regions for ITS, LSU, tub2, RPB2 and ACT of isolates XW-9 and P-XW-9A were amplified and sequenced. The sequences of rDNA-ITS, LSU, tub2, RPB2 and ACT of XW-9 were GenBank MW142397, MW130844, MW165322, MW446945 and MW165324, respectively and those of P-XW-9A were GenBank MW142398, MW130845, MW165323, MW446946 and MW165325, respectively (Lumbsch, et al. 2000; Aveskamp, et al. 2009; Hou et al. 2020). Phylogenetic analysis using concatenated sequences of ITS, LSU, RPB2, and tub2 showed that isolates XW-9 and P-XW-9A formed a single clade with the reference strain of E. poaceicola CBS 987.95 (Figure 2). Thus, XW-9 was identified as E. poaceicola based on its morphological and molecular characteristics. Significantly, the recovered isolate P-XW-9A also aligned with E. poaceicola fulfilling the criteria for Koch's Postulates. E. poaceicola was only reported as a fungal pathogen of Phyllostachys viridis in China (Liu et al. 2020). To our knowledge, this is the first report of leaf spot disease on camphor trees caused by E. poaceicola in China and our findings will be useful for its management.

Sweet viburnum [Viburnum odoratissimum Ker-Gawl. var. awabuki (K. Koch) Zabel ex Rumpl.] belonging to the family Adoxaceae, is a medical and landscape plant, native to Korea (Jeju Island), Taiwan, and Japan (Edita 1988). In June and September 2019, leaf spots were observed on approximately 65% to 80% of sweet viburnum plants in a hedgerow located in Fenghe Xincheng District (28°41'52.9"N 115°52'14.3"E) in Nanchang, China. Initial symptoms of disease appeared as dark brown spots surrounded by red halos (Figure 1 A), which expanded irregularly. Finally, the center of the lesions desiccated and became light-brown, surrounded by a deep-red halos (Figure 1 B). Ten leaf samples with typical symptoms were collected and washed with tap water for about 15 min. The tissue between the healthy and necrotic area (ca. 4 mm × 4 mm) was cut with a sterile scalpel and surface sterilized with 70% alcohol for 45 s, 2% NaClO for 2 min, washed in sterile deionized water three times, dried on sterilized filter paper, then placed in Petri dishes and incubated at 25℃ in the dark. After 3 to 5 days, the hyphal tips from the edges of growing colonies were transferred to fresh PDA dishes. Eventually, 54 fungal isolates were obtained and, of these, 39 isolates were identical in their morphological characteristics. Morphological analysis was performed according with Ellis (1971). The isolate S18, chosen as representative, formed a gray to grayish brown colony with concentric circleson PDA, and a diameter of 8.5 to 9 cm after 7 days incubation at 25℃ (Figure 1 G). Conidia were hyaline, straight or slightly curved, needle shaped, truncate at the base, and acuminate at the tip, with 2 to 6 pseudosepta, 18.90 to 38.38 µm (avg. = 27.51 µm) × 1.64 to 4.50 µm (avg. = 2.60 µm) (n = 36) (Figure 1 H). The genes of fungal isolates (i.e., ITS, tub2 and ACT) were amplified with ITS4/ITS5 for ITS (White, Bruns et al. 1990), Bt2a/Bt2b for tub2 (Glass and Donaldson 1995) and ACT783R/ACT512F for ACT (Carbone and Kohn 1999) and sequenced. The sequences were deposited in GenBank (MW165772 for ITS, MW175900 for ACT and MW168659 for tub2), which showing greater than 99.1% similarity to multiple C. cassiicola accessions, respectively. Pathogenicity tests were performed on healthy leaves in field by inoculating surface-sterilized mature leaves with puncture wound (Figure C) and non-wounded young leaves with 20 µL of a conidial suspension (105 conidia ml-1) (Figure F and G) at 26℃. After 4 to 7 days, all inoculated leaves reproduced similar symptoms as observed initially in the field (Figure 1 C, E and F). To fulfill Koch's postulates, the fungus was isolated on PDA from the margins of leaf spots on inoculated leaves and confirmed as C. cassiicola by morphological characters and ITS gene sequencing. Previously, C. cassiicola was reported as an endophyte on Viburnum spp. and Viburnum odoratissimum (Alfieri et al. 1994). More recently, C. cassiicola has been reported as a pathogen of many plant species in China, such as kiwifruit (Cui, Gong et al. 2015), American sweetgum (Mao, Zheng et al. 2021), castor bean (Tang, Liu et al. 2020), and holly mangrove (Xie, He et al. 2020). To our knowledge, this is the first report of leaf spot disease on sweet viburnum caused by C. cassiicola in China and the precise identification of the causal agent will be useful for its management.

High-performance uncooled millimetre and terahertz wave detectors are required as a building block for a wide range of applications. The state-of-the-art technologies, however, are plagued by low sensitivity, narrow spectral bandwidth, and complicated architecture. Here, we report semiconductor surface plasmon enhanced high-performance broadband millimetre and terahertz wave detectors which are based on nanogroove InSb array epitaxially grown on GaAs substrate for room temperature operation. By making a nanogroove array in the grown InSb layer, strong millimetre and terahertz wave surface plasmon polaritons can be generated at the InSb–air interfaces, which results in significant improvement in detecting performance. A noise equivalent power (NEP) of 2.2 × 10⁻¹⁴ W Hz⁻½ or a detectivity (D*) of 2.7 × 10¹² cm Hz½ W⁻¹ at 1.75 mm (0.171 THz) is achieved at room temperature. By lowering the temperature to the thermoelectric cooling available 200 K, the corresponding NEP and D* of the nanogroove device can be improved to 3.8 × 10⁻¹⁵ W Hz⁻½ and 1.6 × 10¹³ cm Hz½ W⁻¹, respectively. In addition, such a single device can perform broad spectral band detection from 0.9 mm (0.330 THz) to 9.4 mm (0.032 THz). Fast responses of 3.5 µs and 780 ns are achieved at room temperature and 200 K, respectively. Such high-performance millimetre and terahertz wave photodetectors are useful for wide applications such as high capacity communications, walk-through security, biological diagnosis, spectroscopy, and remote sensing. In addition, the integration of plasmonic semiconductor nanostructures paves a way for realizing high performance and multifunctional long-wavelength optoelectrical devices.
