Wildlife conservation depends on supportive social as well as biophysical conditions. Social identities such as hunter and nonhunter are often associated with different attitudes toward wildlife. However, it is unknown whether dynamics within and among these identity groups explain how attitudes form and why they differ. To investigate how social identities help shape wildlife‐related attitudes and the implications for wildlife policy and conservation, we built a structural equation model with survey data from Montana (USA) residents (n = 1758) that tested how social identities affect the relationship between experiences with grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horribilis) and attitudes toward the species. Model results (r2 = 0.51) demonstrated that the hunter identity magnified the negative effect of vicarious property damage on attitudes toward grizzly bears (β = −0.381, 95% confidence interval [CI]: −0.584 to −0.178, p < 0.001), which in turn strongly influenced acceptance (β = −0.571, 95% CI: −0.611 to −0.531, p < 0.001). Our findings suggested that hunters' attitudes toward grizzly bears likely become more negative primarily because of in‐group social interactions about negative experiences, and similar group dynamics may lead nonhunters to disregard the negative experiences that out‐group members have with grizzly bears. Given the profound influence of social identity on human cognitions and behaviors in myriad contexts, the patterns we observed are likely important in a variety of wildlife conservation situations. To foster positive conservation outcomes and minimize polarization, management strategies should account for these identity‐driven perceptions while prioritizing conflict prevention and promoting positive wildlife narratives within and among identity groups. This study illustrates the utility of social identity theory for explaining and influencing human–wildlife interactions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents an analysis of tolerance and recognition of the other in the text of the peace agreement signed between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-FARC-EP People's Army, and its implication in the success of the Agreement and the construction of a stable and lasting peace. As early as, a documentary review and using the hermeneutic method, philosophical texts that address the concept of tolerance and recognition of the other were reviewed, to then enter into dialogue with the text of the Final Agreement. It is concluded that the final Agreement expressly emphasizes tolerance, but not recognition of the other; however, there are relevant aspects in the text of the Agreement such as forgiveness and reconciliation that require going beyond tolerant acts, especially when is going to implement a Peace Agreement to end an armed conflict, where negative feelings are involved that make it difficult to advance in national reconciliation.

GLUFOSINATE , *HERBICIDE resistance , *HERBICIDE application , *WEED control , *DIURON - Abstract
It has been difficult to control Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn and Spermacocea latifolia Aubl. in cotton and soybean crops due to their herbicide resistance or tolerance to glyphosate. Thus, this study's objective was to evaluate the herbicide efficacy applied in pre-emergence, associated with desiccant herbicide in sequential application, in these species. The experiments for S. latifolia and E. indica were conducted separately in a greenhouse. The experimental design was completely randomized, with 4 replications, in a 6 x 3 factorial. The first factor consisted of pre-emerging herbicides applied two days after the sowing of each species, diclosulam (35 g a.i./ha), s-metolachlor (600 g a.i./ha), pyroxasulfone (200 g a.i./ha) + flumioxazin (200 g a.i./ha), diuron (2000 g a.i./ha), trifluralin (600 g a.i./ha), and the treatment without herbicide. The second factor consisted of the application of diquat (200 g a.i./ha), ammonium glufosinate (400 g a.i./ha), or the absence of sequential application. The results revealed that only for the diclosulam herbicide a sequential application with desiccants was necessary for an effective control of E. indica. The other herbicide applied in pre-emergence showed high efficacy (> 90%) in E. indica control when applied individually. Regarding S. latifolia chemical control, the herbicides s-metolachlor (80.04%), pyroxasulfone + flumioxazin (100%), diclosulam (82.08%) and diuron (89.58%), applied in pre-emergence, presented a satisfactory control at 42 days after emergence. The sequential applications promoted better control of S. latifolia to trifluralin and diuron. In conclusion, there are pre-emergence options for the effective control of E. indica and S. latifolia. However, sequential application can be an important tool for improving the control of some weed species, such as those studied in this work, by certain herbicides. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PLANT species , *PHYTOREMEDIATION , *PLANT-soil relationships , *HERBICIDES , *GREENHOUSES - Abstract
The study aimed to identify phytoremediation plant species in soils contaminated with tebuthiuron, by evaluating the development of bioindicator species, as well as quantifying their dissipation in the soil. Ten plant species with potential for tebuthiuron phytoremediation were evaluated in the presence and absence of this herbicide. The study was carried out in a greenhouse, in a completely randomized design, in a 10 x 2 factorial scheme. The levels of herbicides present in the soil were quantified using HPLC-UV. The physiological and biometric parameters of phytoremediation and bioindicator species were determined at 15, 30, 45 and 60 days after sowing. Mucuna aterrina showed the best potential for phytoremediation of tebuthiuron, evidenced by the good development of the bioindicator species and due to the lower oscillation in the physiological and biometric parameters of the species, in addition, it provided a reduction of 86.5% in the concentration of tebuthiuron in the soil.

From a virtue-based approach to digital education, this article aims to analyse the perception of a group of Spanish adolescents and their practice of two civic virtues on the Internet and social media: solidarity and tolerance, crucial for social engagement and for building humanising interpersonal relationships. For this purpose, a quantitative and qualitative research methodology was used. A survey was administered to a purposive sample of 131 high school students. The results were analysed with SPSS.25 and Atlas.ti.8.4. The respondents expressed an abstract positive perception of the possibilities of the Internet for promoting both virtues; however, on a personal level, their practice of these virtues on the web was limited. The collected data suggest the need to strengthen a social understanding of ICTs and accompany this kind of use, steering them towards an engagement that looks into future life plans, in contrast to consumerist and individualist uses. The historical moment we are living through is characterized, among other issues, by a surprising acceleration of dynamics that are self-destructive to peaceful coexistence. Humanity is called upon to face great challenges that, probably and naively, were considered to have been overcome. In this context, it becomes once again urgent to reflect on the crucial function of the legal system and, in more general terms, on the basis and requirement of law. Starting from the conceptions of two illustrious thinkers -Arthur Kaufmann and Hans Jonas-we shall propose a practical and concrete philosophical itinerary which aims to restore the due importance of certain characteristics of human rights for a humanity in crisis. - Abstract
Introduction: Hymenoptera venom allergy is second most common cause of anaphylaxis in childhood. Currenty, the only causal therapy that can induce tolerance is venom immunotherapy (VIT). Aim: In our work, we focused on the analysis of selected clinical and laboratory characteristics in a group of pediatric patients with hymenoptera venom allergy treated with VIT. Material and methods: We created a prospective study in which we gradually included 20 pediatric patients (13 boys, 7 girls), which fulfilled indication criteria for VIT. Data were collected from 2015 to 2022. We defined the basic characteristics of the set, we focused on the overall tolerance of treatment in pediatric patients and the occurance of adverse effects during VIT administration, we also performed blood sampling to determine the dynamics of immunological laboratory parameters in precisely determined time intervals. Results: The mean age was 11 ± 4,37 years, with the mean age of firts systemic reactions after the hymenoptera sting 9,15 ± 3,58 years. Of the 20 enrolled patients, 14 were allergic to bee venom and 6 to waps venom. VIT was started at an average age of 10 ± 3,86 years, of which 2 patients started before the fifth year of life. The most frequently represented clinical manifestations of systemic reaction in our group were facial angioedema (70 %), dyspnea (65 %), urticaria (55%) and whole body pruritus (45 %). We observed the occurence of the adverse effects most often during the initial phase of administration in terms of local reactions, whereas no patient developed a systemic reaction. Spontaneus re-exposure during VIT occured in 25% of patients, whereas no patient developed a systemic reaction. During VIT we also noted dynamic changes in individual evaluated laboratory parameters with a gradual decrease of specific IgE against the extract and allergen component of hymenoptera venom and increase of specific IgG4 against the allergen extract. Conclusion: Allergy to hymenoptera venom is classified as a serious to life-threating condition, while the only possible therapy nowadays that can prevent systemic reaction and improve the patient´s quality of life is VIT. A higher effectiveness of VIT and also a lower risk of treatment failure are described in pediatric patients. Our experencie clearly proves the effectiveness and safety of VIT in childhood and at the same time confirms positive changes in laboratory parameters indicating the induction of immune tolerance.

The effect of 44 agrochemicals (fungicides, insecticides and adjuvants) on the mycelial growth and germination conidia of Trichoderma koningiopsis Th003 was determined by seeding of 5 mm discs of fungal mycelium in Sabouraud agar supplemented with each agrochemical and seeding of conidia suspended in solutions of agrochemicals in water agar. For the adjuvants, their effect on the phyllospheric establishment of T. koningiopsis Th003 was determined by following their population in cape gooseberry leaflets inoculated with the fungus suspended in them. Eight fungicides did not inhibit the fungus mycelial growth or the conidia germination. Fenhexamid - Tebuconazole, Flutriafol and Kasugamicina inhibited it between 34 and 48% without affecting germination, Thiram - Pyrimethanil, Prochloraz, Tiabendazol, Spiroxamina and Triadimenol - Tebuconazole inhibited the growth and Thiram - Pyrimethanil and Dodine did not allow conidia germination. Insecticides and adjuvants presented an inhibition of up to 70% but did not affect the conidia germination. No negative effects of the adjuvants on the phyllosphere establishment of T. koningiopsis Th003 were observed, recovering from the treatments approximately 1x103 CFU g-1. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article explores the moral controversy during the reformist moment of 1833-1834. Based on newspapers, brochures and various documents, it outlines a horizon of dispute that gravitates around the need for citizen obedience and the improvement of civic conduct. It analyzes the arguments favorable and adverse to universal morality. It outlines that the censorship of the ethical instruction of the Catholic clergy opened the door to the postulation of a virtue distant from ecclesiastical control and modulated by civil authority. Finally, it refers that universal morality was not part of the reformist agenda of Valentín Gómez Farías. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aimed to determine the negative impact of volunteer soybean plants on bean crop yield and the tolerance of bean genotypes to the herbicides ethoxysulfuron and halosulfuron. To determine the impact of volunteer soybean plants on bean crops, a field experiment was developed, with sub-sub-plots, and four replications. The main plots contained two bean cultivars, while the sub-plots received two soybean sowing times (0 and 7 days after the beans had been sown), while the sub-sub-plots contained five soybean plant densities (0, 5, 10, 20, and 40 plants m-2). The tolerance of the bean genotypes was evaluated with two experiments in a completely randomized design with three replications. They were arranged in a 28 x 3 factorial design (bean genotypes x herbicide doses). Each soybean plant per m2 reduced bean crop yield by 4%. The recommended doses of ethoxysulfuorn and halosulfuorn resulted in tolerance levels above 70% for all the studied bean genotypes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
