The Žerotice Formation recognised in a confined area NE–SE of Znojmo represents a basal member of the sedimentary succession of the southwestern margin of the Carpathian Foredeep in Moravia (Czech Republic). Two facies associations were recognised within the formation. The first one mantles the pre-Neogene basement with an irregular unconformity, reflects arid climatic conditions and deposition of episodic shallow, high-energy stream flows and/or mass flows (alluvial to fluvial deposits). The second facies association is interpreted as lagoonal to distal flood plain deposits. The barren unfossiliferous deposits of the Žerotice Formation are covered by nearshore marine Eggenburgian deposits. The boundary between these deposits represents a sequence boundary (i.e. the basal forebulge unconformity). Detailed provenance studies of successive beds below and above this sequence boundary showed differences in the source area and paleodrainage. Both the local primary crystalline rocks (Moravian and Moldanubian Unit, Thaya Batholith) and older sedimentary cover (especially Permo–Carboniferous sedimentary rocks) form the source of the Žerotice Formation. All these geological units are located only a few km away from the preserved areal extent of the deposits of the Žerotice Formation (short transport and a local source). The source areas of the overlying marine Eggenburgian beds are located far more to the W and NW in the Moldanubian and Moravian Units (longer transport, extended source area). Local confined preservation of the Žerotice Formation is preliminarily explained as connected with a tectonically predisposed paleovalley.

The study's main objective is the possible application of regranulate based on PLA and PHB bioplastics in the FDM 3D printing technique. The idea of using regranulate in the tested PLA/PHB biodegradable polymer blend can help to reduce the amount of plastic waste produced after defective or unwanted 3D printing from these types of materials suitable for 3D printing or after the industrial production of filaments with inadequate geometric parameters, which may help to economize raw material resources and, ultimately, lower the cost of studied polymer materials producing. The regranulate was added to the non-recycled biodegradable polymer blend with the same chemical composition in two different processes for making the filament for 3D printing. Based on testing the processing and utility properties of the processed regranulate materials, it was found that the regranulate partially degrades during multiple processing and thereby reduces the average molar mass and viscosity of the tested material during its processing. However, it was proven that despite the reduction of molecular characteristics after regranulate additions, it was possible to prepare the filaments by both investigated technologies of the regranulate addition and subsequently, it was possible to print such filaments using FDM 3D printing technology, even when the polymer blend contained a high content of regranulate. It was also proven that PLA/PHB materials containing regranulate exhibit comparable thermophysical and strength characteristics to the virgin PLA/PHB polymer blend.

During the last decades the field of IT has seen an incredible and very rapid development. This development has shown that it is important not only to shift performance and functional boundaries but also to adapt the way human-computer interaction to modern needs. One of the interaction possibilities is a voice control which nowadays can‘t be restricted only to direct commands. The goal of adaptive interaction between man and computer is the human needs understanding. The paper deals with the user's emotional state classification based on the voice track analysis, it describes its own solution - the measurement and the selection process of appropriate voice characteristics using ANOVA analysis and the use of PRAAT software for many voice aspects analysis and for the implementation of own application to classify the user's emotional state from his/her voice. In the paper are presented the results of the created application testing and the possibilities of further expansion and improvement of this solution.

The paper focuses on the processing of the characteristics of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant External Emergency Plan and its updating as a document for the strategic level of management and coordination of the Integrated Rescue System components in the solution of a radiation accident. A case study of the activities of selected central and territorial administrative authorities, crisis management bodies of the South Bohemian Region, municipalities with extended powers, municipalities, Integrated Rescue System components and other subjects in dealing with an emergency occurring in connection with a simulated radiation accident at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. From a methodological point of view, the literature search, expert reflection, methods of analysis and synthesis, deduction were used for the paper. The paper evaluates the External Emergency Plan of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant and the Zone 2019 exercise as a case study.

Introduction: A fear of falling marks an important psychological factor connected with a reduction in the life space of people with dementia. The Czech version of the Falls Efficacy Scale-International (FES-I) has not been validated in patients with early-stage dementia. Methods: The tests were administered to 282 patients with early-stage dementia. The test battery included the following: the FES-I, the Short Physical Performance Battery, the Geriatric Depression Scale, the Bristol Activity Daily Living Scale, and the Quality of Life-Alzheimer’s Disease Scale. Internal reliability (Cronbach’s α and intraclass correlation [ICC]), Pearson’s and Spearman’s correlations, exploratory factor analysis, and a t test for independent samples were used for statistical analyses. Results: The Czech version of the FES-I had excellent internal and test-retest reliability (Cronbach’s α = 0.98, ICC = 0.90; 95% CI 0.82–0.94). Factor analysis suggested 2 relevant factors. A significantly higher FES-I score was associated with patients with early-stage dementia who were older (p = 0.003) or female (p = 0.001), lived alone (p = 0.0001), spent >8 h a day alone (p = 0.032), used mobility aids (p < 0.0001), or had severe hearing (p = 0.004) or vision impairment (p < 0.0001) or a lower education (r = –0.16, p = 0.007). Conclusion: The Czech version of the FES-I had very good reliability and validity and may be useful in future cross-cultural comparisons in research among patients with early-stage dementia.

Abstract Background Sphaerospora molnari is a myxozoan parasite causing skin and gill sphaerosporosis in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) in central Europe. For most myxozoans, little is known about the early development and the expansion of the infection in the fish host, prior to spore formation. A major reason for this lack of information is the absence of laboratory model organisms, whose life-cycle stages are available throughout the year. Results We have established a laboratory infection model for early proliferative stages of myxozoans, based on separation and intraperitoneal injection of motile and dividing S. molnari stages isolated from the blood of carp. In the present study we characterize the kinetics of the presporogonic development of S. molnari, while analyzing cellular host responses, cytokine and systemic immunoglobulin expression, over a 63-day period. Calcium lignosulfonate in different loadings was applied to the rubber matrix based on EPDM. A sulfur curing system, organic peroxide, and a combination of organic peroxide with two coagent types were used for cross-linking of rubber compounds. The work was focused on the investigation of filler content and curing system composition in the curing process, cross-link density, morphology, and physical–mechanical properties of composites. The achieved results demonstrated that the curing parameters of rubber compounds cured with the sulfur system were significantly different from those cured with peroxide systems. There was also an observed different influence of curing systems composition on cross link density, though in all cases, the degree of cross-linking showed a decreasing trend with increasing content of lignosulfonate. The tensile strength of the composites cured with sulfur system and organic peroxide was comparable, regardless of lignosulfonate loading. This points to the application of both curing systems in cross-linking of rubber compounds with biopolymer filler. However, the introduction of coagents in peroxide vulcanization led to the improvement of adhesion and compatibility between the rubber and the filler on the filler–rubber interface. This subsequently resulted in the improvement of the tensile characteristics of composites. The introduction of organic peroxide in combination with coagent seems to be a very simple and efficient way for the preparation of biopolymer-filled composites with applicable physical–mechanical properties.

Recent developments in medical imaging techniques, in particular, those in time-of-flight positron emission tomography put new challenges on scintillating material performance that cannot be fulfilled by conventional scintillators. Bright and ultrafast nanoparticles represent promising candidates to build up an advanced detection system needed. We synthesize colloidal CsPbBr3 nanoplatelets emitting blue light with fast sub-nanosecond decay. We also prepare a nanocomposite material by embedding the nanoplatelets in the polystyrene matrix. We show that blue emission is preserved provided the composite is not exposed to UV/vis light and/or elevated temperatures. Motivated by conflicting information from the literature about the room temperature structure of colloidal CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) particles, that results being orthorhombic, rather than cubic, we perform ab initio electronic structure calculations of bulk crystals with an orthorhombic structure. We calculate optical properties, as well as exciton diameters and binding energies and compare them to those previously obtained for cubic CsPbX3 crystals.

A click chemistry approach based on the reaction between alkynylflavins and mono(6-azido-6-deoxy)-β-cyclodextrin has proven to be a useful tool for the synthesis of flavin-cyclodextrin conjugates studied as monooxygenase mimics in enantioselective sulfoxidations.

The research is focused on exploring of multiple relations between interpersonal and attachment characteristics, job performance, job satisfaction and well-being of employees in contact centres. Global assessment of well-being represents cognitive and emotional approach of one´s life as a whole. However, global view can be deformed by distorted perception of reality, so therefore it is necessary to evaluate well-being not only in general, but also as many different aspects of human life. This study is focused on working environment as one of the significant parts of life. Our sample consisted of 176 employees of contact centres, 116 of them were women (65,91%) and 60 men (34,09%). The age range was from 21 to 56 years (average – 29,78 years). The average length of employment of a telephone operator was 14 months. The major part of workforce were workers in permanent employment – 54,55% (N = 96), performance contract employees – 40,91% (N = 72), students employed based on agreement on temporary job of student – 3,41% (N = 6) and freelancers / self-employed – 1,14% (N = 2). The quantitative and qualitative data were obtained using standardised questionnaires. A short form of Egna Minnen Beträffande Uppfostran (s-E.M.B.U.; Willem et al., 1999), which is based on Bowlby attachment theory, was used to measure attachment style. The interpersonal characteristics were measured by Interpersonal Check List (ICL; Kožený & Ganický, 1976). The job performance was measured by means of a call centre software system called Aheeva CCS Manager. Other questionnaires were focused on job satisfaction and well-being. The evaluation of job satisfaction was realised by means of Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ; Weiss et al., 1967) and well-being was measured by means of two questionnaires - Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS; Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffin, 1985) and Scales of Psychological Well-Being (SPWB; Ryff, 1989). The results of this study confirmed the relationship between attachment styles and interpersonal characteristics in job satisfaction, which is strongly connected with well-being. Job satisfaction is a statistically significant predictor of well-being, but it has not been clearly demonstrated that increased job satisfaction contributes to a better job performance. Regression analysis indicated that attachment characteristics (secure attachment style), interpersonal characteristics (affiliation, dominance and submissiveness) and job satisfaction are significant predictors of well-being for employees in telemarketing. These findings suggested that secure attachement style and interpersonal characteristics contribute to a higher job satisfaction and well-being as well as minimalise emotional problems and reduce the possibility of burn-out syndrome. The results also indicated that employees, who scored higher in dimensions affiliation, dominance and submissiveness, experienced a higher job satisfaction. The partial results showed gender differences, especially women demonstrated a higher performance, particularly in the group of married workers. The highest work performance was identified in the age group of 30-39 years old employees. Significantly low levels of well-being were identified in the group of divorced emploeeys aged 50 to 59 years. Based on these findings an optimum profile of potential employees in contact centres can be formed. A confirmation in a larger sample is needed. Further directions are discussed in research study.

Strontium ferrite was compounded with acrylonitrile butadiene rubber to prepare rubber magnetic composites. For cross-linking of the prepared materials, peroxide curing systems consisting of dicumyl peroxide as curing agent and zinc salts of acrylic and methacrylic acids as co-agents were used. The amount of strontium ferrite was kept constant in all experiments, while the main objective of the work was to investigate the composition of curing system and both types of co-agents on the cross-linking, physical-mechanical, dynamic and magnetic properties of the rubber magnets. The results showed that the change in composition of curing system has significant influence on cross-link density and properties of the tested composite materials. With an increasing amount of zinc based co-agents, significant improvement of tensile strength was achieved. The application of zinc based co-agents in peroxide vulcanization of rubber magnetic composites leads to the preparation of rubber magnets with not only good magnetic properties, but also with improved physical-mechanical characteristics.
