The article describes the design and application of a new method for the band saw parts wear grade measurement. The introduction mentiones the individual parts of a band saw in general, and it states the current method of band pass wheels wear measurement. The nowadays measurement method analysis and innovative method design follows. The article also contains the design realization and related software description. The article deals with the design and implementation of a smart household based on simple wireless modules, which are monitoring (collecting data) and controlling smart household supporting devices. The central unit processes measured parameters, and in relation to resulting values, a pre-set action is performed. Those actions variety can be configured by user via the user interface so that a set of smart rules for reaction on by household devices generated stimuli or problems can be created. That all together composes a control system based on Raspberry Pi, which manages indoor and outdoor temperature measurement, the lighting control, RF transmitter, jalousie, motion sensor control etc. There is a GUI for a PC and for a mobile phone as a part of that system. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2017.

This article is focused on the control of houses, flats or apartments with the use of currently popular smart wiring. A control system is based on the programmable logical controller (PLC). There are possibilities for control heating, lighting, controlled access, security and air condition system but at present as the unusual possibilities also are television, satellite, radio and other multimedia control via infra-red (IR) modules or IP technology. The last goal is to create and describe a user friendly web application for whole house monitoring and control via tablet, mobile phone or computer.

The article describes the bandsaw blade properties innovative method design and realization. The introduction contens individual bandsaw parts description, including their important parameters overview. The innovative methods design delineation follows. The constructed device based on our design minimizes the human error influence. Moreover, it is collecting and archiving measured data. The article covers also the design and software realization. In the end, some measured data examples are stated.

The subject of this article is to find out if there is any possibility that virtual reality (VR) can help to heal the people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The aim of the suggested and realized pre-research was to find out if it is possible to help children to deal with ADHD. We organized a pre-research with the use of Samsung Gear VR device on a small sample of examined respondents with ADHD. Initial results are obtained from questionnaire method of a specialized test SNAP-IV. Table shows improvement of mental state of respondents in case of use new modern VR methods. Treatment of ADHD is often difficult, take a lot of time and it is performed mostly with pharmaceuticals or hypnotic sleep medications. This pre-research presents a method that could speed up therapy and also reduce the use of pills which is very important. Discussion and evaluation of the pre-research are included.

This paper is focused on education in the field Measurement and control of technological processes. In one part of this field students obtain theoretical knowledge in an application of commercial systems for measurement, visualisation and control of technological processes. The data are measured by a programmable controller (PLC) and as the superior systems the system InTouch, Wizcon and ContolWeb2000 were used. All systems were tested on the real equipment. The programmable controller controls the surface of two communicating vessels and at the same time is a data source for master applications that are designed for the systems InTouch, Wizcon and ContolWeb2000. The contribution also describes visualisation systems and serial communication for Windows and gives the description of the ModBus protocol.

The article describes a design of a microcomputer system which is realized in the educational scale model control for physical principles demonstration. That particular design project was a part of the educational facility complex project called Experimentarium aiming at basic school and high school students. The article introduces two racing car models controlled by a microcomputer. The first model set demonstrates the speed and acceleration calculation based on a real time measurement. That calculation result can be compared with results obtained during a running man experiment. The second car model set demonstrates a downforce keeping the car riding the ceiling with wheels upside down. The microcomputer control system is based on microprocessors by Atmel, and the system is described in details including illustrative pictures, schematics and graphs.

Annotation The paper deals with summary of a Fuzzy-control application was examined for the heat supply control by circular heat networks. In the large cities with the district heating system (abbreviated as the DHS as follows), the produced heat is distributed to the consumers through the circular networks, that are supplied by several co-operating production sources of heat, that means by power and heating plants and heating plants.

The presented algorithm design of the control of district heating output by means of the hot water piping eliminates the transport delay. That transport delay occurs in the case in which is used the qualitative way of control only and is depending upon the velocity of hot water and upon the length of hot water piping. The new qualitative-quantitative method of control of district heating output by means of hot-water piping which is simultaneous and continuous action of two manipulated variables i.e. qualitative part (control of temperature difference on the heating plant exchanger) and quantitative part (control of rate of flow through the circulating pumps) enable to eliminate the transport delay between the heating plant exchanger and a remote locality of relatively concentrated consumers.

Article concerns the DALI bus theoretical and practical aspects. The DALI bus is a modern technology developed especially for illumination systems control. Authors are outlining communication basic principles related to the physical layer and going up to more complex data transactions among particular devices. The article main topic is aimed at two device models development based on microcontroller and exploiting that technology. The first of those two devices is a DALI slave unit enabling the light source or multi switch with light indication components control via DALI bus. There exist various methods how to measure the band saw wheel wear. Our article describes an alternative to the existing ones. To give an idea about that problem, we first describe the band saw components in general, and we are also summing up nowadays measurement methods. In contrast to them, we present our alternative solution based on laser sensors. The article contains the design realization example and the functional description of related application software. The article deals with a new inspection method for the bandsaw blade eligibility checking. For better understanding, the individual bandsaw blade areas are described together with relevant parameters overview. The method design description follows. The current method drawback are discussed, and there are stressed the advantages of our innovative automatic inspection method. We present arrangement of our design in individual blocks together with the application software functions. The article also presents both the design model and the realised prototype measurement results. The paper is focused on description of remote control of laboratory models that are used in the process of education at our faculty. The models are connected to programmable logical controllers (PLC) and through these equipments the models are controlled. As the first step the students have to connect the model to a PLC. With that they have to make a program for mode control and they must verify its functionality. The last step is the visualization of the process control in some commercial SCADA/HMI systems. There are also described possibilities of remote control in the paper. Examples of all these cases are presented in this contribution.
