International audience; We propose an adaptive subband decomposition scheme designed to estimate the parameters of two-dimensional (2D) exponential signals from large data sets. The principle of the method consists to perform recursive 2D decimation and estimation steps. At each resulting subband, a stopping rule is evaluated to decide whether the decomposition should be continued or stopped. The proposed rule is based on the Fisher g-test applied on the estimation error. The advantages and limitations of the subband approach are discussed through a simulation example. The method is then demonstrated on an experimental 2D nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy signal.

International audience; This article presents a statistical analysis of the Matrix Pencil method for estimating the mode and the amplitude of a single damped complex exponential. This study is based on a perturbation analysis of the mode and the amplitude, assuming a high signal-to-noise ratio. Closed-form expressions of the mean and variance of these perturbations are derived. It is shown that the estimates are unbiased and that the estimator can be tuned in order to obtain a minimal variance. The theoretical results are verified using Monte Carlo simulations.

For several years, the possibility of using non-iterative high-resolution (HR) spectral estimators instead of Fourier transform (FT) has received considerable attention in the NMR literature. Different approaches have been proposed, including maximum entropy methods, linear prediction (LP) methods, and state space methods. When used in good conditions, all these HR estimators present several advantages over the FT. However, limitations of these methods appear when attempting to process measured signals made of numerous data samples (over 10,000) and/or containing a lot of resonances. As a reaction, last years, there was a renewed interest for parametric Frequency Selective (FS) approaches, a concept initially proposed in 1988 with the LP-ZOOM approach. Several new FS methods have been proposed which possess two features that make them efficient with high-complexity signals: high robustness against out-of-band interferences and low computational burden. The present work describes a fast, and almost automated time-data analysis method for NMR spectroscopy, based on an adaptive implementation of certain HR methods usable in spectral sub-bands. Originally designed as an improvement of the SVD-based High-Order Yule-Walker method in Sub-Bands, and intended to avoid the choice of the decimation factor and to reduce the computational complexity, the adaptive decomposition is achieved through successive decimation/estimation stages each followed by a test procedure to decide whether or not the process should continue. The test is based on a local spectral flatness measure of the estimation residuals.

Not available, La première partie de ce mémoire est consacrée au processus de modélisation arma en général, et on aborde notamment les points suivants : modèles arima et sarima, prédiction, estimation de l'ordre et des paramètres, validation et choix d'un modèle. Puis, le cas particulier de l'analyse spectrale arma est traité, et nous proposons notamment un certain nombre d'algorithmes récursifs, issus de la théorie de la commande des systèmes, pour ce type d'applications, l'avantage étant la possibilité de suivre en ligne les variations spectrales lentes d'un signal non-stationnaire. Ces algorithmes sont alors testés sur un certain nombre de signaux composés de sinusoïdes bruitées. Dans la seconde partie, nous présentons deux applications de ces techniques. Dans le premier cas, nous élaborons une commande prédictive fondée sur des modèles de prédiction à deux et six heures, afin d'automatiser la gestion d'un canal d'irrigation, et exposons les difficultés successivement rencontrées ainsi que les solutions retenues. Un modèle sarima de la demande horaire en eau durant les périodes sèches a été établi, et validé sur site, et nous rendons compte des résultats satisfaisants obtenus. Après avoir constaté la présence de non-stationnarités "lentes", nous préconisons une formulation adaptative, basée sur l'algorithme des moindres carrés étendus ou un titre de kalman, et montrons les améliorations obtenues en simulation avec une prédiction à paramètres variables. Enfin, nous évoquons les perspectives ouvertes par l'étude. Le deuxième cas d'étude concerne le traitement et l'analyse spectrale d'électro-encéphalogrammes spécifiques, relativement courts, et perturbés par de nombreuses non-stationnarités "à court terme", essentiellement des artefacts oculaires. Les techniques d'analyse spectrale traditionnelles étant inopérantes, on propose une méthodologie de traitement associant détection de non-stationnarités, segmentation, et analyse spectrale adaptative, à partir d'un modèle autorégressif et de l'algorithme des moindres carrés récursifs.
