El concepto de sonotipo ha emergido en los últimos años como un atributo de marca sonoro que pretende asociar, en un breve lapso de tiempo, unos sonidos con el producto o servicio comercializado. El objetivo de esta investigación es argumentar que el sonotipo, como formato persuasivo-comunicativo, reúne todas las características esenciales de las relaciones comunicativas de la postmodernidad y, por lo tanto, se integra perfectamente y triunfa en el contexto publicitario actual. La metodología utilizada para argumentar esta hipótesis consiste en una revisión de la literatura científica existente y el análisis empírico-descriptivo de siete sonotipos del ámbito de la automoción, a través del cual se relacionaran los atributos descritos con los hábitos de la comunicación actual. Los principales resultados y conclusiones apuntan que el sonotipo es ambiguo y ecléctico a la vez; es breve y efímero; participa en la concentración semántica de ‘supersigno’; apela débilmente a las emociones pero sin embargo potencia la memoria, y, al mismo tiempo, encaja perfectamente con los actuales hábitos de consumo de información –también contenidos acústicos o musicales– entre los cuales predomina la individualidad, la movilidad y la predisposición multimedia y multitarea. The concept of ‘sonotipo’(sound logo) has emerged in the last years as the conception and design of an attribute of sonorous brand that tries to associate some sounds with the product or service commercialized, using only a short time. The objective of this research is to argue that the ‘sonotipo’, as a persuasive-communicative format, brings together all the essential characteristics of the communicative relations of postmodernity and, therefore, integrates perfectly and triumphs in the current advertising context. The methodology used to argue this hypothesis consists of a review of the existing scientific literature and the descriptive empirical analysis of seven automotive field-related ‘sonotipos’, through which the described attributes are related to the current communication habits. The main results and conclusions indicate that the ‘sonotipo’ is ambiguous and eclectic at the same time; It is brief and ephemeral; it participates in the semantic concentration of ‘supersign'; It appeals faintly to emotions but nevertheless enhances memory and, at the same time, fits perfectly with the current habits of information consumption - also acoustic or musical contents - among which predominates individuality, mobility and multimedia and multitask predisposition.

Hem establert les bases metodològiques i teòriques per investigar la pregunta “Tenen les nacions sense estat el dret de controlar el seu propi espai de comunicació?”. La investigació ajusta el concepte d’espai de comunicació a la teoria política, cercant els seus límits en els drets individuals i, des de la perspectiva del liberalisme 2, aportant la justificació del seu control en quant que plataforma que incideix en la conservació i supervivència d’una cultura nacional. El primer article i fase de la tesi és l’adaptació i definició del concepte espai de comunicació. Fins ara, la recerca ha proposat diferents models d’espai de comunicació entenent si es tracta d’una visió emfatitzant la distribució i la producció de material marcat amb els símbols de la identitat nacional de la societat emissora, o bé si emfatitza la idea d’un espai de circulació de fluxos comunicatiu ajustat a un territori tradicionalment vinculat a una identitat nacional o nació sense estat. Igualment, es distingeix la dimensió d’emissió –sortir del territori al món- i la de recepció –fluxos informatius rebuts des del món al territori, concretament, al ciutadà; el paper d’intervenció de les institucions democràtiques és diferent en una dimensió o una altra i, per tant, també són diferents els drets afectats i les teories o principis que neguen o justifiquen el control de l’espai de comunicació. També s’ha indagat en les teories sobre els efectes cognitius dels mitjans de comunicació per relacionar-los amb la construcció nacional com a cohesió simbòlica i cultural. Si bé els mitjans no poden fer canviar de pensament immediatament, sí que poden conformar a llarg termini una percepció nacional general. Una comunitat és imaginada, donada la distància física dels seus components, i la comunicació social és, juntament amb l’educació, el principal factor de construcció nacional, avui en dia. We set the theoretical and methodological basis to investigate the question "stateless nations have the right to control their own communication space?". The research fits the concept of communication space in political theory, searching for its limits on individual rights and, from the perspective of liberalism 2, providing the justification of its control in terms of a platform that focuses on conservation and survival of a national culture. The first phase and article of the thesis is the adaptation and definition of the concept of communication space. Until now, researchers have proposed different models of space communication understood if it is a vision emphasizing the production and distribution of material marked with the symbols of national identity of the issuing society, or whether emphasizing the idea of a 'space of traffic flow communication line to an area traditionally associated with national identity or nation without a state. Similarly, we distinguished two dimensions of the communication space. One is emission, from territory to the world, and the other is reception, which meas the information flows received from the world into territory, specifically, received by the citizens. The role in intervention of democratic institutions is different in one dimension or another and therefore are also affected different rights and principles or theories that deny or justify the control of the communication space. We have also explored the theories of media cognitive effects to relate them to nation-building as a symbolic and cultural cohesion. While the media can not change your mind immediately, they may comprise a long-term overall national perception. A community is imagined, given the physical distance of its components, and social communication, along with education, is the main ingredient of nation building nowadays.

Aquesta investigació crea un protocol per analitzar la relació entre la música, el silenci i les imatges en els espots electorals. El protocol es constitueix amb la compilació del mètode de Josep Lluís i Falcó, una síntesi de les funcions de la música en un context audiovisual, i un protocol elaborat prèviament per l'autor per analitzar el silenci audiovisual. Mitjançant aquesta eina analítica s'estudien 150 espots electorals de totes les èpoques des de l'aparició del format i d'arreu del món. L'anàlisi es realitza considerant conjuntament el producte audiovisual, sense separar els codis acústics dels visuals.Un dels fonaments de la investigació és que la música comunica a diferents nivells, també a un nivell Basic relacionat amb els paràmetres psicoacústics de supervivència humana. Al mateix temps, la música comporta una connotació cultural i social i és expressiva d'emocions generals. La música és comunicació abans que art. També es considera que el silenci absolut no existeix i que el silenci s'integra i forma part del continuum comunicatiu, essent sempre significatiu.La recerca defineix diferents models de relació entre música, silenci i imatges, segons quin element de la Banda Sonora és protagonista i articula la narració. També defineix diferents models funcionals, segons les funcions més utilitzades i habituals per la música i el silenci en els espots electorals. Alhora, estableix un model descriptiu de la relació general entre aquests paràmetres. La conclusió és que la música és habitual en els espots electorals, però en un segon pla, amb una funció expressiva del to emotiu general del producte audiovisual. En canvi, el silenci és escàs en aquest format i, quan s'utilitza, empra una funció també expressiva la qual diferencia el flux narratiu on s'ubica l'anunci polític, les parts de l'espot o bé les diferents proposicions conceptuals que conformen el missatge del producte. Els resultats són una descripció de la tendència general de la música i el silenci en els espots electorals., Esta investigación crea un protocolo para analizar la relación entre la música, el silencio y las imágenes en los spots electorales. La conclusión es que la música es habitual en los spots electorales, pero en un segundo plano, con una función expresiva del tono emotivo general del producto audiovisual. En cambio, el silencio es escaso en éste formado y, cuando se utiliza, utiliza una función también expresiva la cual diferencia el flujo narrativo donde se ubica el anuncio político, las partes del spot o bien las diferentes proposiciones conceptuales que conforman el mensaje del producto. Los resultados son una descripción de la tendencia general de la música y el silencio en los spots electorales., This research creates a protocol for analyzing the relationship among music, silence and images in the electoral spots. The protocol is constituted with the compilation of the method of Josep Lluís i Falcó, a synthesis of the functions of music in an audiovisual context, and a protocol previously elaborated by the author for analyzing the audiovisual silence. Through this analytical tool 150 electoral spots of all periods from the appearance of the format and from all over the world are studied. The analysis is carried out considering together the audiovisual product, without sorting out the acoustic codes from the visual ones.One of the foundations of the research is that music communicates at different levels, also at a basic level related with the psicoacustic parameters of human survival. At the same time, music entails a cultural and social connotation and it is expressive of general emotions. Music is communication before that it is art. Also it is considered that absolute silence does not exist and that silence integrates and it is part of the communicative continuum, being always significant.The research describes different models of relationship among music, silence and images, according to which element of the soundtrack it is protagonist and which one articulates the narration. Also it describes different functional models, according to the more used functions and usual for the music and the silence in the electoral spots. At the same time, it establishes a descriptive model of the general relationship among these parameters. The conclusion is that music is usual in the electoral spots, but in a second ground, with an expressive function of general emotional tone of the audiovisual product. On the other hand, the silence is scarce in this format and, when it is included, it uses also an expressive function that differentiates the narrative flow where the political advertisement is placed, the parts of the spot or the different conceptual propositions that shape the message of the product. The results are a description of the general trend of music and silence in the electoral spots.

Tutor: Daniel Torras Segura i Josep Lluís i Falcó, The growing realization that our understanding of the world is subject to multisensory perception has led cognitive neuroscientists to begin researching the ways in which the senses can be integrated more effectively into our everyday experiences (See Bruno & Pavani, 2018; Calvert et al., 2004; Stein, 2012). Multisensory perception has begun to be examined through new approaches to architecture, consumer shopping, and most relevant to this thesis, through restaurant design. Until recently however, most design and consumer experiences have been created to specifically influence and target visual human biases; preferences in visual aesthetics, perception, and audiovisual design, have demonstrated the influence of visuals on our creative and consumer experiences and thus, the lack of integration due the other senses. Architect Bruce Mau asserts this point in saying that, “We have allowed two of our sensory domains - sight and sound - to dominate our design imagination. In fact, when it comes to the culture of architecture and design, we create and produce almost exclusively for one sense - the visual” (Mau, 2018). Mau’s statement corroborates the current trend in visual biases of design and further highlights the necessity to integrate the other senses in the approach to design.

Trabajo de final de carrera que consiste en crear un cortometraje de thriller psicológico de 15 a 20 minutos de duración. Cortometraje en blanco y negro que se centra en la forma y en la técnica cinematográfica para explicar un relato no sólo con palabras, sino también con imágenes. Se pretende demostrar que la imagen y el sonido tienen la misma importancia narrativa, por ello el diálogo que aparece profundiza en la trama, pero las imágenes transmiten la idea base del argumento por sí solas.
