This article examines the history of leguminous grasses in the Brazilian Cerrado between the early 1950s and early 1970s. The westward expansion of the Brazilian agrarian frontier was a massive ecological transformation, propelled by a transnational process that relied on a series of actors beyond the national borders, most notably the Rockefeller-sponsored IRI research institute. However, as the article demonstrates, this epistemic transformation was also crucially complemented by the ecological potential of a set of leguminous grasses that gave an essential contribution to the ecological reconversion of the Brazilian Cerrado. These sturdy nitrogen-fixing species grew extensively - and mostly autonomously - on these arid territories, propelling agrarian development in the region. However, while the successful interaction between anthropogenic and non-anthropogenic actors led to successful techno-scientific and economic results, it also led to severe socio-environmental consequences.

β-titanium shape memory alloys are used as shape memory-based biomedical applications and superelastic materials because they are made up of non-toxic components. Also, their behaviors are more semilar with that of human bone and dental biological tissues, such as biocompatibility, superior corrosion resistance, low density, and low modulus of elasticity. In the current study, the effect of Ta additive on the physical properties of Ti-Nb alloy has been investigated. Ti-Nb-Ta alloy samples were produced such that the Tantalum (Ta) element was substituted instead of Niobium (Nb), and the induction arc melting was used to melting the mixed powders. To investigate the crystal structure, microstructure, and phase transformation temperatures of all samples, the X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM), and Diffraction Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements have been used. Both β-rich and α peaks were observed in the XRD and SEM measurements. Also, the DSC results revealed that the Ti-Nb-Ta alloys have only austenite transformation temperatures and their phase austenite phase transformation were decreased by the effect of Ta additive, additionally, the enthalpy change in〖 E〗_3 sample ( Ti_75.5 Nb_22.5 Ta_2 (%at)) has the highest value, while E_4 sample ( Ti_75.5 Nb_21.5 Ta_3 (%at)) has the lowest respective value.

Dalit resistance gained prominence in postcolonial India through Dalit literature, with Dalit life writing emerging as a significant way to address ongoing problems and issues faced by Dalit communities. Dalit personal narratives are not mere reflections into the past but lived experiences with a timely and current sociological base. Dalit narratives have become a platform for social and political activism against various hegemonic discourses that otherwise exclude the experiences of the Dalit population. Moreover, Dalit women suffer many layers of oppression and violence, and there is a necessity to understand the intersectionality of Dalit women’s realities. Hence this article analyses select personal narratives of two Dalit women writers: P. Sivakami’s The Grip of Change ([1989] 2006) and ₹Author’s Notes: Gowri’ ([1999] 2006); and Bama’s Karukku ([1992] 2005). The ₹Author’s Notes: Gowri’ is a reflection on The Grip of Change and the two narratives are collectively referred to as The Grip of Change. This article attempts to understand the extent to which Dalit personal narratives transform from aesthetics to activism. This article analyses the narrative technique and form used in the narratives and explores how the narratives expose embodied issues to foster activism in and through the content.

In recent years, digitalization has detached television content from the television screen, and so the television is no longer the only choice for personal audio-visual consumption. The audio-visual market is facing increased fragmentation due to the multiplicity of delivering platforms. Furthermore, the digital touch has brought about far-reaching changes in people’s audio-visual consumption practices. The protagonists of this new digital landscape are the members of Generation Z (GenZ), who are early adopters of the digital innovation. In this article, contemporary consumption behaviours of audio-visual content, contrasting those at the times of traditional television viewing, are explored in the context of the GenZ community. In Greece, GenZ represent nearly 20 per cent of the entire population and makes an interesting target to be scrutinized under the prism of ongoing studies of media usage.

BACKGROUND: Digitalization has transformed the modes of work, communication and collaboration in the workplace, which is a challenge for all organizations, requiring the adaptation of structures, strategies, leadership and management culture. In the study, it is proposed to consider management culture as a potential factor that determines the competitive management of the network structure of supply chains. Despite numerous studies dedicated to supply chains digitalization, there’s lack of researches dedicated to deep investigation of management culture transformation in context of the digitalization of supply chains requires. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the study is to identify the determinants contributing to the transformation of management culture in context of supply chain digitalization. METHODS: The study is conceptual research that links management culture and the supply chain. Based on the evolutionary dynamism of the theory and practice of management culture, two aspects of culture have been identified: national psychology (subjective beliefs) and company potential (values and behaviour of personnel). RESULTS: It is assumed that the most effective culture in context of supply chain digitalization is digital culture as it is focused on the external environment. It has been found that the key determinants of the change are the values and behaviour of the personnel, and as a result, they create an effective approach to the management culture transformation. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study allow managers to assess the established organizational culture that facilitates or hinders the activities of the business in order to successfully implement and achieve the goals set. The results of this study can be applied by top managers of companies facing digitalization of supply chains in developing HR and managerial policies and programs.

Resumen Este texto presenta los resultados de una investigación de tipo cuantitativo que utiliza la estadística descriptiva para identificar las perspectivas de un grupo de estudiantes de educación media de Bogotá (n=764), en torno a quiénes son, según su opinión, los personajes históricos más importantes de la historia nacional. A través de la construcción de un índice de relevancia histórica sustentado en la frecuencia de evocación y la relevancia asignada a cada personaje, se identificaron una serie de principios de identidad histórica en los que confluyen permanencias de figuras ejemplares/tradicionales asociadas a la narrativa oficial y emergencias de nuevos referentes que representan fuerzas de resistencia y de negación de ideas y prácticas sociales hegemónicas. Los resultados evidencian que el aprendizaje histórico no solo depende de los procesos formales de escolarización, sino que, además, se estructura a partir de diferentes dimensiones que forman y son expresión de la cultura histórica. Abstract This text presents the results of a quantitative research project that uses descriptive statistics to identify the perspectives of a group of middle school students in Bogotá (n = 764), about who, in their opinion, are the most important historical figures from national history. Through the construction of a historical relevance index based on the frequency of evocation and the relevance assigned to each character, a series of principles of historical identity were identified in which they converge, permanence of exemplary / traditional figures associated with the official narrative, and emergencies of new references that represent forces of resistance and denial of hegemonic ideas and social practices. The results show that historical learning not only depends on formal schooling processes, but that it is also structured on the basis of different dimensions that form, and are, an expression of historical culture. Resumo Este texto apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa quantitativa que utiliza estatística descritiva para identificar as perspectivas de um grupo de estudantes do ensino médio de Bogotá (n = 764), sobre quem, em sua opinião, são as figuras históricas mais importantes da história nacional. Através da construção de um índice de significância histórica com base na frequência de evocação e na relevância atribuída a cada personagem, foi identificada uma série de princípios de identidade histórica em que convergem, permanência de figuras exemplares / tradicionais associadas à narrativa oficial e, emergências de novas referências que representam forças de resistência e negação de ideias hegemônicas e práticas sociais. Os resultados mostram que a aprendizagem histórica não depende apenas dos processos escolares formais, mas também é estruturada com base em diferentes dimensões que formam e são uma expressão da cultura histórica.

Diffusion-induced stresses in Sn, a promising anode material for Li-ion batteries owing to its high specific capacity, depend significantly on the phase transformation mechanism. In this study, an in-situ X-ray diffraction study is performed to reveal the phase transformation mechanism in Sn as functions of the discharge rate and Sn anode dimensions. In a 500 nm-thick Sn thin-film discharged at C/9 or a 100 nm-thick Sn thin-film discharged at 0.1C, the Sn phase transforms sequentially to Li2Sn5, followed by β-LiSn and a-Li7Sn3 in three steps, where each step involves reaction-controlled lithiation. However, in a 500 nm-thick Sn thin-film discharged at 2C or a 2 μm-thick Sn thin-film discharged at 0.1C, the a-Li7Sn3 phase is directly formed via one-step reaction-controlled lithiation between Sn and a-Li7Sn3. A transition from three-step to one-step results in a steep gradient in the mismatch strain, thereby causing early failure. Finite element simulations show a lower J-integral for the three steps compared with that of a one-step reaction, thereby confirming previously reported experimental observations. For a specified transformation mechanism, the J-integral is lower for smaller Sn micropillars. Therefore, the mechanical reliability of the Sn anode can be enhanced significantly when lithiated under phase transformation mechanism involving three-reaction-controlled lithiations, as well as utilizing a small Sn anode measuring less than 200 nm.

Актуальним завданням безперервної освіти дорослих стає запровадження андрагогічного та акмеологічного підходів. Мета. Аналіз якості та ступеня сприйняття засобів педагогічного впливу на формування і підсилення професійних компетенцій у лікарів-анестезіологів різних вікових груп. За результатами інтерв’ю та анонімного анкетування лікарів-інтернів під час проходження очного навчання та слухачів курсу тематичного удосконалення та передатестаційного циклу на кафедрі анестезіології, інтенсивної терапії та медицини невідкладних станів ФПО ДЗ «Дніпропетровська медична академія МОЗ України» визначали ступінь задоволеності якістю наданих освітніх послуг і актуальність запропонованих способів модернізації освітнього процесу. Аналіз показав, що майже 95 % завідувачів відділень анестезіології та інтенсивної терапії (ВАІТ) відзначили необхідність максимально практично-орієнтованої моделі підготовки фахівців. На їх думку, спектр набутих лікарських умінь і практичних навичок повинен бути найширшим і не залежати від місця роботи та ступеня затребування. Обмеження переліку навичок відповідно до профілю ВАІТ підтримало всього 5 % опитаних. Однак усі одностайно погодилися, що практичні навички мають поєднуватися з фундаментальними знаннями та систематично закріплюватися. Зараз це відтворюється за допомогою манекенів у спеціальних класах і в умовах симуляційного центру. Тому більшості лікарів (82,7 %) не все одно, наскільки цікаві цикли тематичного удосконалення. Використання фантомів і простих манекенів без функції зворотного зв’язку дозволяє відпрацьовувати технічний навик, проте не відображає ступеня компетентнісного засвоєння. Сучасні вимоги суспільства до підготовки лікарів-анестезіологів протягом усього етапу післядипломної освіти передбачають кардинальні зміни програм і технологій викладання з упровадженням і освоєнням нових форм освітньої діяльності: дистанційних та імітаційних форм навчання, інтерактивних лекцій, майстер-класів.

Fluorescent dyes such as rhodamine R6G usually suffer from quenching caused by aggregation in the solid state. Herein, we enhance the solid state luminescence of R6G by controlling assemblies of rhodamine R6G and [Mo8O26]4− based on the synergies between the anchoring and diluting effects. In addition, the hybrids represent reversible transformation and tunable luminescence by different loadings of the rhodamine 6G dye within the [Mo8O26]4− architecture. This work provides new ideas for the structural design, synthesis and transformation of POM-based hybrid materials, opening the way towards the design of novel multifunctional hybrid systems.

Background Medical and pathology education has gone through an immense transformation from traditional face-to-face teaching mode to virtual mode during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study evaluated the effectiveness of online histopathology teaching in medical education during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic in Griffith University, Australia. Methods Second-year medical students (n = 150) who had previously completed one year of face-to-face histopathology teaching, completed an online questionnaire rating their learning experiences before and during the COVID-19 pandemic after the completion of their histology and pathology practical sessions. The students' histopathology assessment results were then compared to the histopathology results of a prior second-year cohort to determine if the switch to online histopathology teaching had an impact on students' learning outcome. Results A thematic analysis of the qualitative comments strongly indicated that online histopathology teaching was instrumental, more comfortable to engage in and better structured compared to face-to-face teaching. Compared to the previous year's practical assessment, individual performance was not significantly different (p = 0.30) and compared to the prior cohort completing the same curriculum the mean overall mark was significantly improved from 65.36% ± 13.12% to 75.83% ± 14.84% (p Conclusions The transformation of teaching methods during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic improved student engagement without any adverse effects on student learning outcomes in histology and pathology education.

Technology can translocate traditional art into interactive, immersive experiences. At the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the authors transformed Tibetan Buddhist mandalas into a 3D virtual reality mandala installation. Furthering this project, they externalized an analog of the meditative experience by recording electroencephalograms that dynamically modulated the visual scene. The use of neurofeedback allowed fluctuations in the alpha power to drive the intensity of the fog obscuring the mandala. This aimed to give a sense of clearing the fog with one’s mind in a meditation-like state. The collaboration demonstrated how technology intended for scientific use may be adapted to an artistic installation that enriches the visitor experience.

This review paper explains and discusses the influence of the perception of risk on consumer behaviour in tourism and hospitality and strategies that can be used to reduce consumers’ risk perceptions. As eliminating or reducing consumers' risk perceptions help tourism and hospitality businesses attract more customers and maintain them, understanding concepts of risk and control may enable tourism and hospitality businesses to establish competitive advantage over their competitors. With this background in mind, the study introduces the concept of risk and the types of risks that may be associated with tourism and hospitality activities. The study also explains factors such as personality, personal characteristics which may influence customers' risk perceptions, and how these influences may take place in various contexts. Then, the study explains the theory of control and types of control which may be used to reduce consumers’ risk perceptions.

This paper proposes an asymptotically valid permutation test for heterogeneous treatment effects in the presence of an estimated nuisance parameter. Not accounting for the estimation error of the nuisance parameter results in statistics that depend on the particulars of the data generating process, and the resulting permutation test fails to control the Type 1 error, even asymptotically. In this paper we consider a permutation test based on a martingale transformation of the empirical process to render an asymptotically pivotal statistic, effectively nullifying the effect associated with the estimation error on the limiting distribution of the statistic. Under weak conditions, we show that the permutation test based on the martingale-transformed statistic results in the asymptotic rejection probability of α in general while retaining the exact control of the test level when testing for the more restrictive sharp null. We also show how our martingale-based permutation test extends to testing whether there exists treatment effect heterogeneity within subgroups defined by observable covariates. Our approach comprises testing the joint null hypothesis that treatment effects are constant within mutually exclusive subgroups while allowing the treatment effects to vary across subgroups. Monte Carlo simulations show that the permutation test presented here performs well in finite samples, and is comparable to those existing in the literature. To gain further understanding of the test to practical problems, we investigate the gift exchange hypothesis in the context of two field experiments from Gneezy and List (2006). Lastly, we provide the companion RATest R package to facilitate and encourage the application of our test in empirical research.

Demand for custom solutions is trending. As a result, manufacturing organizations are increasingly challenged to transform from hardware-centric to solution-centric. Many have started either through custom project life cycle or custom project governance. The authors initiated a case study to demonstrate the value of custom project life cycle that is coupled with custom project governance, and to test the personalization theory. Apart from executing actual transformation that utilized the customization, additional data was collected through face-to-face interviews. The findings suggest that custom project life cycle that is coupled with custom project governance could enhance the chances of success.

Many types of drug crimes are already known, but it is common to offender groups to implement them in an organised, coordinated, multi-level framework. Affected by online platforms, drug crimes are undergoing a transformation that presents new challenges for the authorities. Criminal groups also like to (re)take the opportunities offered by the Internet. Platforms that connect to the Dark Web, the Dark Internet (secret network form), have become increasingly popular over the past few years, thanks to the fact that there are also services available which are not available by traditional browsers. Coordinated cooperation between several countries, over several years, is needed to ensure successful detection in cyberspace. This is illustrated by a current EUROPOL report, published on 12 January 2021, which shows that a successful liquidation has occurred in the case of DarkMarket, one of the largest illegal marketplaces, requiring the cooperation of several European Union Member States and several non-European Union countries. In the face of the coronavirus epidemic, organised crime groups are still trying to remain active and resilient, which is not a challenge in the online space at this time, although drug delivery models needed to be changed, but they are trying to maintain the constant cycle of the market through their hiding methods. In my study, I am also looking for answers how the detection and recovery of criminal property is carried out at national and international level, in cases where drug crime takes place in the online space. What is the path of illegally acquired criminal property, how can financial profiling be carried out in these cases? In case of drug offences, we are talking about a special asset recovery where is no victim demanded, because there are very few known victims existing. With my study, I intend to capture the current topicality of drug crime, by detecting methods of committing crimes in the online space, internationally and domestically, and by exploring the current processes of asset discovery and recovery. In this way, I wish to provide results that can be used by the profession.

The article considers the influence of distance learning on changing the role of the teacher in the pedagogical process, and on the choice of applied educational technologies. An empirical research was conducted to study the problems that arise in the course of distance learning. As a result of the data analysis, the hypothesis was confirmed that the majority of respondents changed their motivation for learning; there was a transformation of views on the role of the teacher in the educational process against the background of problems with the psychophysical health of students, the splitting of the integrity of the pedagogical process.

The “Internet Plus” business model calls for the optimization of business education in higher education institutes. The fast pace of “Internet Plus” requires business students to have abundant interdisciplinary knowledge, comprehensive modern business skills, habits of lifelong self-learning, and the courage to innovate. This paper proposes that higher education institutes should improve their business education programs in the following ways: firstly, form teaching alliances to provide interdisciplinary learning opportunities for business students; secondly, establish a social practice tutor team from excellent alumni; thirdly, build an online education platform for alumni to develop lifelong autonomous learning habits; finally, explore the three-tutor training model for business students.

Aim. The presented study aims to substantiate methodological approaches to the transformation of the priorities of government regulation of socio-economic development during the post-crisis period in the context of the circular economy.Tasks. To achieve the set aim, the authors address the theoretical and practical problems of the transformation of socio-economic development priorities; comprehensively analyze major problems and identify indicators and criteria for assessing the effectiveness of the government regulation of management in a circular economy; provide recommendations for optimizing management decisions at all levels of regulation of economic entities in the postcrisis period.Methods. This study uses the methods of complex and historical analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, expert assessments, information and communication technologies.Results. Transformation of the strategic management goal in a circular economy implies structural changes in the priorities of socio-economic development in the classical linear functional model of economic entities based on the introduction of a chain of reusable raw materials in a closed cycle. Business regulation in Russia faces the problems of imperfect institutions of title guarantee and legal regulations that significantly increase risks. Currently, priority directions for the transformation of e-government in a circular economy include such areas as legislative support for the operation of economic entities within a single network space, education, technological innovations, innovative design, digital infrastructure, secure storage and processing of analytic databases. The efficiency of government regulation in the post-pandemic period can be improved by developing and implementing comprehensive programs strategically aimed at creating favorable conditions for sustainable interaction between the business and the government in a circular economy.Conclusions. Transformation of the priorities of government regulation of socio-economic development in the post-pandemic period involves substantiating the scenarios and organizational forms of their implementation aimed at anti-crisis optimization of the regional development program. Under modern conditions, a priority goal for administrative bodies is to achieve balanced parameters that would enhance Russia's competitiveness in the global market of goods and services with allowance for the principles of the circular economy. Target parameters affecting regional growth and development include reduced usage and replenishment of natural resource potential; introduction of closed cycles of production, consumption, distribution, exchange; transition towards zero waste technological chains in all segments; transformation of all spheres of socio-economic development to meet global environmental standards in raw materials, components, etc.

Furthermore, we would like to express our deepest gratitude towards our colleagues in the broader accompanying research network for the energy transition in the German building sector and all grantees for the courage and time they are investing into exploring unknown, uncommon waters. Here, the basic hypothesis is that collaborations between all stakeholders involved are crucial to accelerate the process. The opening of every individual towards the perspective of others and an overarching joint intention is needed. Working from a sustainability science perspective, it is argued that approaching the transition from inside the system will lead to a common ground for collective action. The authors’ role as communication researchers and transformative scientists is embedded in the broader accompanying research for the energy transition in the building sector (‘Energiewendebauen’). With this paper and authors’ work within the broader research network, an attempt is made to open the minds for innovative ways of working and facilitating the shift between science and practice by fostering thriving collaborations applying communication and collaboration knowledge. For this purpose, a multitude of different methods are drawn upon, some of which will be presented in this paper with a special focus on Generative Scribing, which is an artistic approach established in the context of Theory U. Although the method might initially be perceived as being rather unusual by some people and the practicing of this new way of working and communicating might even be rejected by a few, first findings show that when this method is used, people are intuitively attracted and open up in the process. The riskiest factor in transforming a traditional Business Environment (BE) into an innovative and business lean oriented BE is the role of the business and (e-)Business Transformation Manager (BTM). The basic profile of such a BTM has not been sufficiently investigated in a holistic and educational manner. The characteristics of a suitable BTM profile is the main goal of the author's selection and training framework (STF) research project; that started in the year 2010. In this research paper, the author tries to prove that the STF research methodology, design and prototype (STF_RMDP) can be applied in a "real world case"; that is in fact the final phase. This final phase is labelled the "STF research empirical model". This whole research is a part of the author's doctorate in business administration. The STF_RMDP results define the optimal BTM profile who has to cope with complex business transformation projects (BTP). These BTPs need a specific set of skills, especially for the final and the very difficult implementation phase (Trad, Kalpic, IMRA, 2013-an award winning paper). The BTP's implementation phase is the major cause of high failure rates. The BTMs' needed hands-on skills; these skills should encompass: 1) knowledge of business process and services (BPs) technologies, 2) automated real-time business environments, 3) project management, 4) knowledge integration, 5) organizational behaviour, 6) management sciences methodologies 7) enterprise application integration and other concrete BTP implementation phase know-how artefacts. Therefore the researcher recommends the technocrats profile (Fahroomand, 2004) as a "base profile" for such BTPs; that need to be complemented with crossfunctional skills (Trad, Kalpic, ITI, 2013). More specifically, this research focuses on the influence of the BTMs' hands-on business architecture experience, background and education, on managing complex BTP implementations. Where such transformations integrate avant-garde innovation, knowledge and technology. “We know that those organizations that are consistently successful at managing innovation-related changes outperform their peers in terms of growth and financial performance” (Tidd, 2006). The author has based his research model on the main fact that only around 12% of business organizations successfully manage innovation-related business transformations initiatives. Therefore, there is an important need for a dynamic and automated way of selecting and training future BTMs. BTMs who would be capable of implementing such complex BP based systems (Tidd, Bessant, 2009). Where STF_RMDP is the empirical model with which the author wants to prove that future BTMs can be selected to successfully build or reengineer various electronic and lean BE (ELBE) components. The empirical model will contain a real world prototype and surveys that will generate the need data sets the qualitative research approach.

Experimental studies carried out in the conditions of a laboratory rolling mill have determined the regularities of the processes of metal flow and roll-out defects of billets during deformation in roughing stands of a universal rail and structural mill. In relation to the box size and gauges types "lying trapeze" and "trapeze", we have determined a significant irregularity of drawing coefficients of the surface layers by roll length and width, as well as the irregularity of drawing in the cross-section of the roll during rolling. It is shown that during deformation the surface zones adjacent to the ends of the roll are subjected to the greatest drawing, and dependence of irregularity of the drawing coefficients over the cross-section of the roll on the shape of the deformation zone has a distinct power-law character. We have established a significant effect of the drawing coefficient, as well as the location and spatial orientation of the billet defects, while the geometric dimensions of the defects don't have such influence on their roll-out coefficients. According to the obtained data, the defects located on the rolling edges are rolled out most intensively both in depth and width, and the transverse defects are rolled out the least intensively. At the same time, the rollability of any defects increases with the growth of drawing coefficient. It is determined that near the side edges of the roll there is an increase in the width (disclosure) of transverse and inclined defects relative to the rolling axis, as well as the disclosure of defects occurs at the end sections of the roll in relation to longitudinal defects. For internal defects, it was found that, similar to surface defects, an increase in the drawing coefficient during rolling contributes to an increase in their roll-out, while the rollout coefficient of internal defects in absolute value is significantly lower than this indicator for surface defects. It was determined that the minimum roll-out coefficient of internal defects occurs when they are located in the core of the sample, while the roll-out coefficient of such defects increases linearly when moving towards the roll surface. The influence of the location, spatial orientation, and drawing coefficient on the rollability of surface and internal defects is generalized in the form of regression equations. It makes it possible to use them in practice to predict the quality of finished rolled metal when changing rolling modes.

The purpose of the article. The aim of the article is to define new concepts of transformation and reengineering of business processes, their types, properties and research of significance in the development of territories. Methodology. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study are the scientific works of scientists in the study of business process management in the system of competitive development of territories. To achieve this goal, the following research methods were used: theoretical generalization – providing the basic characteristics of models of economic development in the conditions of transformational changes in national economies; methods of positive and normative analysis – to determine the strategy and priorities for the transformation of regional development. Results. It is proved that transformation is a permanent form of life, a movement in which old and new coexist, in certain conditions innovative spheres survive and develop, such as material and technical and social base of scientific and technological progress, reforms, social consequences and sometimes negative for society neoplasms and deformities. Reforms do not stop historical, evolutionary transformations, they give them new impulses, directions, limit or expand the scale of their impact on all aspects of society. It is substantiated that the strategy of “catching up” and the strategy of “advanced technologies” should be implemented simultaneously, not in turn, as their common goal is to achieve a new technological level of the Ukrainian economy. It is determined that the strategy of “catching up” can be used in the manufacture of household appliances, engines and in the automotive and chemical industries. It is proved that Ukraine can and should pursue a strategy of “advanced technologies” in the production of certain weapons, aerospace and shipbuilding industry, chemical, heavy and energy engineering, transport, information technology, participate in global cooperation in nanotechnology and biotechnology. Prospects for the transformation of territories are identified, including: transition from extensive to intensive management methods, implementation of programs to increase regional production of goods, priority of small farms, development of social reforms, priority of small farms, restructuring of the regional economy. Practical meaning. Models of economic development for transformational changes in national economies can be used by regional public authorities. Prospects for further research. Study of strategy and priorities for regional development transformation.

Digital manufacturing pretends to revolutionize manufacturing, its methods are increasingly increasing its participation in the industrial, scientific and technological fields worldwide, being a key point within the named "Industry 4.0", it is so in Ecuador the use of these laboratories, in conjunction with specialized machinery and CAD (Computer Aided Design), have been growing gradually in recent years. What is intended in this study is to collect data, through qualitative and quantitative research, on the development of digital manufacturing within this country, studying the companies that provide related services, and taking into consideration their progress within the evolution of industry 4.0, as well as the projects executed and proposed; With which it has been possible to determine the presence of this technology, adequate equipment and its growth at the national level with the so-called manufacturing laboratories. The paper examines the main mechanisms for protecting intellectual rights and liability for their infringement when using virtual and augmented reality technologies. The author notes that the market for these technologies is still experimental. Analyzing the prognostic information of experts in the field under consideration, the author identifies the most effective technical means of protection, as well as mechanisms of responsibility for infringement of intellectual rights in the implementation of these technologies. Digital fingerprint technologies, digital marking of works, as well as copyright traps are included into technical means of protecting intellectual rights. The author highlights difficulties in the implementation of jurisdictional forms of protection of intellectual rights when they are infringed in virtual and augmented reality. In this regard, it is concluded that it is necessary to form an electronic justice system to consider disputes concerning intellectual rights in the field of virtual and augmented reality.

PurposeFor a university to be a prime mover for sustainability transformation, all units of the university should contribute. However, organizational change in educational institutions is often studied by examining specific domains such as research or operation in isolation. This results in a less-than-complete picture of the potential for university-wide change. In contrast, this paper aims to examine the network of social relations that determine the diffusion and sustainability of change efforts across a university. The authors use McGill University (Canada) as a model system to study the network of actors concerned with sustainability to learn how this network influences the penetration of sustainability throughout the university.Design/methodology/approachTo explore the existing social structure, the authors use an innovative approach to illuminate the influence of social structure on organizational change efforts. Using a mixed methods approach combining social network analysis with qualitative interview data, the authors examine the influence of the social structure on sustainability transformation at McGill University. The authors conducted 52 interviews between January and April 2019 with representatives of different sustainability groups at the university across six domains (research, education, administration, operations, connectivity and students).FindingsThe authors find that McGill University has a centralized system with a low density. The network is centralized around the Office of Sustainability. The limited cross-domain interaction appears to be a result of differences in motivation and priorities. This leads to a network that has many actors but only a limited number of connections between them. The quality of the relationships is often utilitarian, with only a few relationships aiming for support and mutual growth.Originality/valueThis study brings together social network analysis, sustainability transformation and higher education in a new way. It also illustrates the complexity of guiding a large organization, such as a university, toward a sustainability transformation. Furthermore, it reveals the importance of considering each part of the university as part of an interconnected network rather than as isolated components.

Introduction. The workers of coal mines are characterized by a high level of not only occupational diseases, but also oncological diseases. Modern knowledge in the field of studying pneumoconiosis contains many contradictions in the assessment of the pathogenetic mechanisms of lung damage, in particular, the morphogenesis of neoplastic changes in the respiratory system at the final stage of the disease with pronounced sclerotic changes. The study is devoted to the occurrence and development of tumor tissue in the miners working in the underground conditions. The task is to identify morphological trigger mechanisms for the development of oncological pathology in miners, relying on pathomorphological, immunohistochemical studies of the changes in the epithelial tissue of the airways, as well as various cellular communities of the bronchi, blood vessels of the lungs and lung tissue parenchyma using the example of epithelial-mesenchymal transformation under dust load. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the fibroplastic process on the development of oncological pathology in miners who worked in underground conditions. Materials and methods. Histological, immunohistochemical and morphometric studies of the respiratory system obtained during 50 autopsy works of a group of Kuzbass miners working in underground conditions was carried out. Cancer of various localization and histogenetic affiliation was previously diagnosed in 20 miners. The mucous membrane of the bronchi, respiratory tissue of the lungs, arteries and veins of the pulmonary circulation were studied. Immunohistochemical study was performed using monoclonal antibodies (marker of proliferation Ki-67, oncogene of proapoptotic activity Bcl-2, growth and neoangiogenesis factors, endothelial function factors CD-31 and CD-34, marker of epithelial tissue cytokeratin (cyt), muscle tissue markers - actin, desmin, vimentin, connective tissue markers - collagen, laminil, markers of intercellular interactions EMA, SMA). Results. Transformed fibroblasts, myofibroblasts are a cell population of dedifferentiated epithelial tissue with different expressions of nonspecific markers (desmin, actin, vimentin), capable of tumor transformation. Sclerotic tissue changes in pneumoconiosis are the areas of tumor transdifferentiation. Fibroblasts with an altered phenotype, namely myofibroblasts, are able to give rise to the growth of undifferentiated mesenchymal cell communities (tumor tissue), including atypical epithelial cells, adipocytes, chondrocytes and endotheliocytes. Conclusions. Epithelial-mesenchymal transformation can be a triggering mechanism for the development of tumor transformation from extensive fibrosed zones in miners with dust lung pathology. In this case, the main etiological factor of tumor progression is activated fibroplastic cells.

Ecological transformation creates many challenges for public natural resource management and requires managers to grapple with new relationships to change and new ways to manage it. In the context of unfamiliar trajectories of ecological change, a manager can resist, accept, or direct change, choices that make up the resist-accept-direct (RAD) framework. In this article, we provide a conceptual framework for how to think about this new decision space that managers must navigate. We identify internal factors (mental models) and external factors (social feasibility, institutional context, and scientific uncertainty) that shape management decisions. We then apply this conceptual framework to the RAD strategies (resist, accept, direct) to illuminate how internal and external factors shape those decisions. Finally, we conclude with a discussion of how this conceptual framework shapes our understanding of management decisions, especially how these decisions are not just ecological but also social, and the implications for research and management.

Despite striking global change, management to ensure healthy landscapes and sustained natural resources has tended to set objectives on the basis of the historical range of variability in stationary ecosystems. Many social–ecological systems are moving into novel conditions that can result in ecological transformation. We present four foundations to enable a transition to future-oriented conservation and management that increases capacity to manage change. The foundations are to identify plausible social–ecological trajectories, to apply upstream and deliberate engagement and decision-making with stakeholders, to formulate management pathways to desired futures, and to consider a portfolio approach to manage risk and account for multiple preferences across space and time. We use the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska as a case study to illustrate how the four foundations address common land management challenges for navigating transformation and deciding when, where, and how to resist, accept, or direct social–ecological change.

With the continuous development of traditional media in China, talents in the media industry continue to emerge, and the continuous updating and upgrading of media accelerate the rapid integration of media carriers, making the birth of " Fusion Media”. With the rapid update and iteration of financial media, it can be widely disseminated and applied. While the traditional media industry is impacted by financial media, it also faces new challenges and opportunities. Therefore, in the rapid development of the media industry, traditional media needs to innovate the old communication mode and content. Broadcasting and hosting professionals as the link and bridge between the masses and the media, such changes also put forward more stringent requirements on the professional ability of broadcasting and hosting professionals, and the form and content of the work has become more diversified. Hence, in order to cope with the advent of the fusion media era, it is also important to improve one's professionalism and practical skills. How can these competencies be further enhanced to meet the needs of today's media industry and the public, and what are some examples of successful transformations in the media industry? To address these questions, this paper first analyses the changes in the broadcasting industry in the context of media convergence, and then further explores the competencies that broadcasting professionals need to possess in the era of "Fusion Media". Recommendations are also provided correspondingly in the last section of this paper as well.
