The pi0 pi0 mass spectra and angular distributions around KKbar -threshold and at 1.5 GeV in ppbar (at rest) --> 3 pi0 in the Crystal Barrel experiment are reanalyzed by applying the new method, which is consistent with unitarity of S-matrix and expressed directly by resonance parameters. The effects of light sigma-meson production are clearly seen to improve the fit with sigma, in comparing with the fit without sigma., Comment: 8 pages, 1 Postscript figure, uses ptptex.sty

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology - Abstract
Recently we obtained the evidence for the existence of sigma(600) meson, which had been sought but missing for a long time, by reanalyzing the I=0 S-wave pi pi scattering phase shift. The sigma-existence was also suggested through the analyses of pi pi production processes, pp central collision pp to pp pi^0 pi^0 and J/psi to omega pi pi decay. The observed properties through these works of sigma meson satisfy the mass and width relation of SU(2) linear sigma model. The physical origin of the repulsive background phase shift delta_{BG}, which was essential to lead to the sigma-existence in our phase shift analysis, is also due to the "compensating lambda phi^4-interaction" in linear sigma model. Furthermore in this talk the experimental property of the delta_{BG} is shown to be describable quantitatively in the framework of linear sigma model including rho-meson contribution., Comment: 6 pages, 2 eps figure, uses frascatiphys.sty proceedings of Int. Re-analyzing the old phase shift data of I=0, \pi\pi (I=1/2, K\pi) scattering, we show an evidence for existence of the \sigma-particle (\kappa-particle) with a comparatively light mass, which has been missing for a long time: In the analysis we have applied a new method of interfering Breit-Wigner amplitudes, which makes the scattering amplitude parametrized in terms of only physical quantities, mass and width of resonant particles, in conformity with unitarity. We have introduced phenomenologically a background phase shift \delta_{BG} of repulsive core type. The \chi^2-fits of the both \pi\pi- and K\pi- phase shifts are improved greatly with the \delta_{BG} over the conventional fits without it., Comment: Talk at HADRON'97, the 7th int. conf. on hadron spectroscopy, BNL, August 1997. 4 pages with 3 eps figures

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology - Abstract
A S-wave \pi\pi resonance below 1 GeV/c^2, sigma has been observed in analyses of the phase shift data of \pi\pi scatterings. It is important to observe it in production processes. A huge events of \pi^0\pi^0 below 1 GeV/c^2 is seen in the central production of the GAMS experiment. Its mass spectrum is well described by the variant mass and width method (VMW) including f_0(980), f_2(1270) and a S-wave resonance which might be assigned to be a sigma. We report here that the angular distributions of the \pi^0\pi^0 system are also described with the S-wave resonance interfering with f_0(980) and the tail of f_2(1270) by VMW. The same method is applied to the \pi^+\pi^- data of J/\psi \to \omega\pi\pi decay, and is shown that not only \pi^+\pi^- mass spectrum but also its cos\theta_\pi distributions are described well., Comment: Talk at HADRON'97, the 7th int. conf. on hadron spectroscopy, BNL, August 1997. 4 pages with 2 eps figures

Recently we have shown an evidence for existence of \sigma-particle in the previous works; where the \pi\pi S-wave phase shift is reanalyzed, by introducing a repulsive background suggested by the chiral symmetry, and by applying a new method of Interfering Breit-Wigner Amplitudes. In this work we also show, reanalyzing the K\pi S-wave phase shift from a similar standpoint, an evidence for existence of \kappa(900), possibly to be a member of \sigma-nonet., Comment: tex with PTP style, 2 eps figures

- Abstract
The ηη system produced in charge-exchange π-p interaction at a momentum of 32.5 GeV/c is studied in an experiment performed with the GAMS-4π spectrometer at the 70-GeV accelerator of the Institute for High-Energy Physics (IHEP, Protvino). A partial-wave analysis is performed in the mass range between 1.1 and 3.9 GeV for -t < 0.2 (GeV/c)2, S, D, G, and J waves being taken into account in this analysis. The S wave has a complicated structure, displaying peaks at about 1.5 and 1.7 GeV. These peaks are associated with the f0(1500) and f0(1710) mesons. One of the solutions (preferable one) involves the f0(2200) and f 2(1950) resonances. The mass region above 2.4 GeV is dominated by the G wave. A broad state of mass about 3 GeV and width 0.7 GeV is found in the J wave. The parameters of the resonances in question and their production cross sections are measured.© 2005 Pleiades Publishing, Inc., SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

New data on the η′η system produced in the π-p charge exchange reaction at 38 GeV/c momentum confirm the existence of the narrow η′η resonance X (1910). The hypothesis of the X (1910) quantum numbers being a JPC= 1-+, forbidden for the qq̄ meson, is proposed to explain the extremely low limits obtained for X (1910) decays through π0π0, ηη, and Ks0Ks0 channels and the flat t-dependence of the X (1910) production cross section., SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

- Abstract
Small Angle Detector (SAD-150) is a PbWO4 heavy crystal electromagnetic calorimeter with high energy and coordinate resolution for multiphoton events. It has been included in the GAMS-4π setup and calibrated in muon and electron beams. Test measurements of forward emitted π0 and η in the π- p charge exchange reactions with 32.5 GeV/c π- at the IHEP proton synchrotron are reported. The measured mass resolution in the η region agrees with the design value SAD-150 performance does not deteriorate with π- intensities up to 106 π-/s per cell., 0, SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

- Abstract
A partial-wave analysis of the ω ωπ0-system produced in the π-p→ωπ0n reaction at 38 GeV/c beam momentum has been performed. A new 5-- meson state, ρ5(22350), with a mass M=2330±35 MeV and a width Γ=400±100 MeV, is observed. The analysis also confirms the 1-- ρ(2150) meson, a radial-orbital excitation of the ρ(770), observed earlier by the GAMS Collaboration. © 1995 Springer-Verlag., SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

- Abstract
A large time-of-flight detector has been built by the GAMS NA12/2 experiment at CERN. It surrounds a 60 cm long liquid hydrogen target. With a time resolution better than σ = 350 ps, pion/proton separation is achieved up to a 800 MeV/c momentum. © 1994., SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

- Abstract
The π0π0 mass spectra and angular distributions around the -threshold and at 1.5 GeV in ( at rest)→3π0 in the Crystal Barrel experiment are reanalyzed by applying a new method, which is consistent with the unitarity of the S-matrix and is expressed directly in terms of resonance parameters. The effects of light σ-meson production are clearly seen to improve the fit with σ in comparison with the fit without σ.

- Abstract
In most of the Nambu·Jona-Lasinio (NJL)-type models, realizing the hidden chiral symmetry, the existence of a scalar particle σ is needed with a mass m
σ = 2mq , as a partner of the Nambu-Goldstone boson π. However, the results of many analyses on ππ phase-shift thus far made have been negative for its existence. In this paper we re-analyze the phase-shift, applying a new method, the interfering amplitude method, which treats the -matrix directly and describes multi-resonances in conformity with the unitarity. As a result, the existence of σ has been strongly suggested from the behavior of the ππ → ππ phase shift between the ππ- and the -thresholds, with mass = 553.3 ± 0.5st MeV and width = 242.6 ± 1.2st MeV. The most crucial point in our analysis is the introduction of a negative background phase, possibly reflecting a “repulsive core” in ππ interactions. The properties of ƒ0 (980) are also investigated from data including those over the threshold. Its mass is obtained as 993.2 ±6.5st ± 6.9sys MeV. Its width is about a hundred MeV, although this depends largely on the treatment of the elasticity and the ππ → phase shift, both of which may have large experimental uncertainties.- Published
