In the Industry 4.0 context, it is very important for companies to apply a comprehensive and sustainable business model to grow steadily and quickly adapt to the fast-changing environment. Although the existing literature has explored Quality 4.0 by integrating Industry 4.0 tools into the TQM system, the question of how Quality 4.0 practices drive sustainable excellence (SE) remains unexplored. Therefore, to fill the gap, this research aims to investigate the relationship between Quality 4.0 practices and SE as well as the role of digital transformation (DT) and digital leadership in this connection, anchoring on the stakeholder theory, the natural resource-based view (NRBR) theory, and the socio-technical system (STS) theory. The research employs the quantitative Structural Equation Model method to analyse empirical data in the manufacturing industry in Vietnam. The findings demonstrate that Quality 4.0 practices positively influence both digital transformation and SE. This study confirmed the mediating role of digital transformation and the moderating role of digital leadership in the relationship between Quality 4.0 practices and SE. This article describes process segmentation typology during business process management implementation in Czech companies. Process typology is important for a manager’s overview of process orientation as well as for a manager’s general understanding of business process management. This article provides insight into a process-oriented organizational structure. The first part analyzes process segmentation typology itself as well as some original results of quantitative research evaluating process segmentation typology in the specific context of Czech company strategies. Widespread data collection was carried out in 2006 and 2013. The analysis of this data showed that managers have more options regarding process segmentation and its selection. In terms of practicality and ease of use, the most frequently used method of process segmentation (managerial, main, and supportive) stems directly from the requirements of ISO 9001. Because of ISO 9001:2015, managers must now apply risk planning in relation to the selection of processes that are subjected to process management activities. It is for this fundamental reason that this article focuses on process segmentation typology.

This article focuses on describing the main aspects and reasons for implementing Business Process Management in Czech companies, and was based on original results of the quantitative research evaluating aspects of process management in the context of company strategies in Czech enterprises which was carried out in 2006 with regard to the extension of its further utilization. Following the interest of professionals in practice, the research continued and was re-implemented in 2012, having the interviews completed in 2013. I have described an evaluation of a process segmentation typology in this article too. The analysis showed that managers have more options regarding process segmentation to choose from. In terms of practicality and ease of use, the method of process segmentation most frequently used (managerial, main and supportive) comes directly from the requirements of ISO 9001.

Anchoring on Socio-technical system (STS) theory, this study applied Delphi and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) techniques to explore the key factors and specific indicators of the TQM 4.0 model implementation in manufacturing enterprises. An analysis of two Delphi rounds through experts who are academia, consultants, and production/quality supervisors/managers found ten factors and 41 indicators. In the third round, the study weighted the importance of each factor and indicator through an analysis of the AHP technique. The research suggested that social factors were more important than technical factors. Importantly, the findings indicated three key factors of the TQM 4.0 model, including top management, quality culture 4.0, and integrating sustainable development. Furthermore, the study revealed that top management commitment, quality-driven mindfulness, and employee empowerment were specified as the most critical indicators of the TQM 4.0 model. Results could be valuable for both researchers and practitioners in assessing TQM 4.0 implementation in the manufacturing sector in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Agriculture and forestry in Slovakia is a sector that includes the highest number of contract awards in public procurement. The main aim of this article is to identify an influence of selected determinants on public procurement efficiency in agricultural and forestry sector in Slovakia. There are created two basic types of models based on a sample of 291 contracts, which were formed by means of a multiple linear regression in program R. The first model examines an influence of variables on public procurement savings that is defined as a rate of the final and probable price of the contract. This model confirms a positive influence of a number of offers on savings' formation, where each next offer increases saving of approximately 8.816 %. On the other hand, a subcontractor's presence reduces saving by 19.9 %. The second model examines and influence of variables on a number of offers in public procurement. The number of offers in a given sector positively influences a public competition, while there is usually of three offers more than in the negotiating process. However, the number of offers decreases when a contract is financing from the EU funds and when contract specifies a criterion of quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of procurement is to achieve savings of public resources. Domestic and foreign studies point to the fact that the condition of achieving the savings is sufficient competition on the supply side. Slovakia currently belongs to the group of countries with low competition in public procurement deals. Furthermore, in this context we have compared the best practices of using public funds with regard to public procurement in the Czech Republic. The aim of this paper is to create and analyze models of the number of tenders subcontractor participation and open competition on the savings achieved in public procurement. Based on the Wilcoxon signed-rank test in the R software is demonstrated that public procurement in an average is a way to save public funds. Using linear regression in R program positive effect of the number of offers to saving process is identified. Across the investigated group as well as at dividing to limit and above the limit contracts, any further offer increased energy in average of 3%. Participation of the subcontractor has positive effect on savings in the whole study group and at above limit contracts over 1.35 million euros without value added tax. Open competition as a kind of public procurement is not statistically significant in pursuit of savings in procurement for a given sample. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction Taxine alkaloids cause fatal poisoning, in particular due to the compound's toxic effect on the cardiovascular apparatus. Case presentation We describe the case of a 39-year-old Caucasian man with common yew intoxication for whom cardiopulmonary resuscitation using all available methods, although delayed and extended, was successful.
