Abstract

This thesis presents an on-line recognition machine RM for the continuous and isolated recognition of dynamic and static gestures that arise in Flight Deck Officer (FDO) training. This thesis considers 18 distinct and commonly used dynamic and static gestures of FDO. Tracker and computer vision based systems are used to acquire the gestures. The recognition machine is based on the generic pattern recognition framework. The gestures are represented as templates using summary statistics. The proposed recognition algorithm exploits temporal and spatial characteristics of the gestures via dynamic programming and Markovian process. The algorithm predicts the correspond-ing index of incremental input data in the templates in an on-line mode. Accumulated consistency in the sequence of prediction provides a similarity measurement (Score) between input data and the templates. Having estimated Score, some heuristics are employed to control the declaration in the final stages. The recognition machine addresses general gesture recognition issues: to recognize real time and dynamic gesture, no starting/end point and inter-intra personal tem-poral and spatial variance. The first two issues and temporal variance are addressed by the proposed algorithm. The spatial invariance is addressed by introducing inde-pendent units to construct gesture models. An important aspect of the algorithm is that it provides an intuitive mechanism for automatic detection of start/end frames of continuous gestures. The algorithm has the additional advantage of providing timely feedback for training purposes. In this thesis, we consider isolated and continuous gestures. The performance of RM is evaluated using six datasets - artificial (W_TTest), hand motion (Yang, Perrotta), Gesture Panel and FDO (tracker, vision). The Hidden Markov Model (HMM) and Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) are used to compare RM's results. Various data analyses techniques are deployed to reveal the complexity and inter similarity of the datasets before experiments are conducted. In the isolated recogni-tion experiments, the recognition machine obtains comparable results with HMM and outperforms DTW. In the continuous experiments, RM surpasses HMM in terms of sentence and word recognition. In addition to these experiments, a multilayer per-ceptron neural network (MLPNN) is introduced for the prediction process of RM to validate modularity of RM. The overall conclusion of the thesis is that, RM achieves comparable results which are in agreement with HMM and DTW. Furthermore, the recognition machine pro-vides more reliable and accurate recognition in the case of missing and noisy data. The recognition machine addresses some common limitations of these algorithms and general temporal pattern recognition in the context of FDO training. The recognition algorithm is thus suited for on-line recognition.

Abstract

While transcriptome- and proteome-wide technologies to assess processes in protein biogenesis up to the ribosome-associated stages are now widely available, we still lack global approaches to assay post-ribosomal processes, in particular those occurring in the eukaryotic secretory system. We developed SECRiFY to simultaneously assess the secretability of >10 5 heterologous protein fragments by two yeast species, S. cerevisiae and P. pastoris, using custom fragment libraries, surface display and a sequencing-based readout. SECRiFY generates datasets that enable datamining into protein features underlying secretability, and it will enable studies of the impact of secretory system perturbation on the secretable proteome.

Abstract

PubMedID: 28151863 The aim of this study was to determine the clinical features, and outcome of the patients with miliary tuberculosis (TB). We retrospectively evaluated 263 patients (142 male, 121 female, mean age: 44 years, range: 16-89 years) with miliary TB. Criteria for the diagnosis of miliary TB were at least one of the followings in the presence of clinical presentation suggestive of miliary TB such as prolonged fever, night sweats, anorexia, weight loss: Radiologic criterion and pathological criterion and/or microbiological criterion; pathological criterion and/or microbiological criterion. The miliary pattern was seen in 88% of the patients. Predisposing factors were found in 41% of the patients. Most frequent clinical features and laboratory findings were fever (100%), fatigue (91%), anorexia (85%), weight loss (66%), hepatomegaly (20%), splenomegaly (19%), choroid tubercules (8%), anemia (86%), pancytopenia (12%), and accelerated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (89%). Tuberculin skin test was positive in 29% of cases. Fifty percent of the patients met the criteria for fever of unknown origin. Acid-fast bacilli were demonstrated in 41% of patients (81/195), and cultures for Mycobacterium tuberculosis were positive in 51% (148/292) of tested specimens (predominantly sputum, CSF, and bronchial lavage). Blood cultures were positive in 20% (19/97). Granulomas in tissue samples of liver, lung, and bone marrow were present in 100% (21/21), 95% (18/19), and 82% (23/28), respectively. A total of 223 patients (85%) were given a quadruple anti-TB treatment. Forty-four (17%) patients died within 1 year after diagnosis established. Age, serum albumin, presence of military pattern, presence of mental changes, and hemoglobin concentration were found as independent predictors of mortality. Fever resolved within first 21 days in the majority (90%) of the cases. Miliary infiltrates on chest X-ray should raise the possibility of miliary TB especially in countries where TB is endemic. Although biopsy of the lungs and liver may have higher yield rate of organ involvement histopathologicaly, less invasive procedures including a bone marrow biopsy and blood cultures should be preferred owing to low complication rates. © 2017 the Author(s). Epidemiological and clinical data for 158 patients with acute HBV infection from 22 medical centres in the period February 2001 to February 2002 were collected prospectively. HBV genotyping was based on analysis of restriction fragment length polymorphisms and nested PCR. There were 59 female and 99 male patients, with a mean age of 34.2 +/- 15.6 years. The most common probable transmission route was blood contact in 63 (41.1%) cases, but was unknown in 78 (49.4%) cases. The mean alanine aminotransferase level was 1718 +/- 1089 IU/L. Four of the 158 patients (2.5%) died because of fulminant hepatitis. One year after discharge, 11 (10.6%) of 103 cases were positive for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and 80 (77.7%) were positive for anti-HBsAg. Genotype determination was unsuccessful in 11 cases because of a negative PCR; genotype D was found in the remaining 147 cases. The results suggested that acute HBV infection constitutes a significant health problem in Turkey and that genotype D is predominant.

Abstract

In recent years, many advanced technologies for production, transportation, cargo handling, storage and ship bunkering of LNG have also been emerged. By guidance of the last developments on marine propulsion and different fuel-handling technologies, LNG became, gradually, a more applicable and sustainable fuel source option for merchant marine ship. Dual fuel engine technology has already been used for some type of LNG carriers which are able to burn their cargo as bunker at the same time, subject to the agreement with charterer-cargo owner since around 40 years (Wang & Notteboom, 2013). Utilisation of the LNG as a primarily marine fuel is a considerably new type of bunkering application containing many discussions and safety based concerns. At the moment, LNG fuelled shipping and bunkering business have only small scale practical applications for limited number of ships on the North-western Europe ECA (Emission Control Area). Safety records of these bunkering applications are dominating positive motivation on the LNG bunkering although lack of regulative standardisation existed for bunkering operations. It is highly expected and believed that LNG may1 INTRODUCTIONExploration of the amount of natural gas is increasing due to improvements on unconventional gas exploration technologies and discovery of new offshore natural gas reserve areas. Evidently, natural gas is one of the most popular main energy sources in the daily life of modern mankind in the 21st century. By means of raising demand, utilisation of natural gas in the world energy market has been enlarged rapidly in the past two decades. Natural gas also started to be utilised as a fuel source for some types of road transport vehicles in LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) forms. CNG and LNG obtain different advantages for different kinds of transportation needs. LNG is a preferable form for long distance voyage efficient vehicles including deep sea container ships opposed to CNG form due to bunkering storage space advantages. Thus, as our research objective we focus on operational aspects of LNG form as a bunkering source in order to apply deep sea container shipping industry bunkering operations.

Abstract

Saline okumusi, new species, is described from western tributaries of the Euphrates River. It is distinguished by a greyish body, with the flank and back covered by numerous irregularly shaped small black spots and dots, imparting a peppered or slightly marmorated appearance; few to numerous red spots on body, organized in two to six irregular longitudinal rows on middle part of flank, each red spot usually comprising three or four smaller red dots wholly or partially coalescent; adipose fin grey, conspicuously coloured, with three or four red to orange spots on its free edge; 103-112 lateral line scales; 26-28 scales rows between lateral line and dorsal-fin origin; 18-21 scale rows between anal-fin origin and lateral line; length of maxilla 8.7-9.6 % SL in males, 8.1-9.1 in females. Salmo euphrataeus, new species, is described from northeastern tributaries of the Euphrates River. It is distinguished by a brownish body in life; few (4-54) black spots on body, restricted to back (usually missing in predorsal area) and upper part of flank, mostly anteriorly; few (13-53) red spots on body, usually organized in two to five irregular longitudinal rows on median and lower part of flanks; adipose fin almost reaching base of caudal fin in males larger than 210 mm SL, without or with up to three red or orange spots on free edge; 112-120 lateral line scales; 28-31 scale rows between lateral line and dorsal-fin origin; 20-24 scale rows between anal-fin origin and lateral line; length of maxilla 9.6-11.4 % SL in males, 8.4-10.2 in females.

24. On recognition of gestures arIsing in flight deck officer (FDO) training

Abstract

This thesis presents an on-line recognition machine RM for the continuous and isolated recognition of dynamic and static gestures that arise in Flight Deck Officer (FDO) training. This thesis considers 18 distinct and commonly used dynamic and static gestures of FDO. Tracker and computer vision based systems are used to acquire the gestures. The recognition machine is based on the generic pattern recognition framework. The gestures are represented as templates using summary statistics. The proposed recognition algorithm exploits temporal and spatial characteristics of the gestures via dynamic programming and Markovian process. The algorithm predicts the correspond-ing index of incremental input data in the templates in an on-line mode. Accumulated consistency in the sequence of prediction provides a similarity measurement (Score) between input data and the templates. Having estimated Score, some heuristics are employed to control the declaration in the final stages. The recognition machine addresses general gesture recognition issues: to recognize real time and dynamic gesture, no starting/end point and inter-intra personal tem-poral and spatial variance. The first two issues and temporal variance are addressed by the proposed algorithm. The spatial invariance is addressed by introducing inde-pendent units to construct gesture models. An important aspect of the algorithm is that it provides an intuitive mechanism for automatic detection of start/end frames of continuous gestures. The algorithm has the additional advantage of providing timely feedback for training purposes. In this thesis, we consider isolated and continuous gestures. The performance of RM is evaluated using six datasets - artificial (W_TTest), hand motion (Yang, Perrotta), Gesture Panel and FDO (tracker, vision). The Hidden Markov Model (HMM) and Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) are used to compare RM's results. Various data analyses techniques are deployed to reveal the complexity and inter similarity of the datasets before experiments are conducted. In the isolated recogni-tion experiments, the recognition machine obtains comparable results with HMM and outperforms DTW. In the continuous experiments, RM surpasses HMM in terms of sentence and word recognition. In addition to these experiments, a multilayer per-ceptron neural network (MLPNN) is introduced for the prediction process of RM to validate modularity of RM. The overall conclusion of the thesis is that, RM achieves comparable results which are in agreement with HMM and DTW. Furthermore, the recognition machine pro-vides more reliable and accurate recognition in the case of missing and noisy data. The recognition machine addresses some common limitations of these algorithms and general temporal pattern recognition in the context of FDO training. The recognition algorithm is thus suited for on-line recognition.

Variable amplitude loadings were used with periodic overload cycles added to constant amplitude cycles. During fatigue tests when R = 0.1, for every 1000 cycles 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 overload was applied. The fatigue fracture surfaces were examined in the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to obtain more detailed information on crack growth contributions of different overload cycles and it was shown that fatigue crack growth retardation occurred when periodic overload cycles were applied after every 1000 cycles.

During the variable amplitude loading tests for every 1200, 2500 and 5000 cycles, a block of 100 cycles overload was applied. For variable amplitude loading tests, crack propagation rates were lower than in constant amplitude loading tests. Applied periodic overloads have a retardation effect on crack propagation and this effect was greater for 2500 cycles than 1200 and 5000 cycles. 38. Feeding habits of introduced European perch (Perca fluviatilis) in an impounded large river system in Turkey

Abstract

The feeding habits of perch (Perca fluviatilis) were documented by analyzing gut contents of more than 3300 specimens collected seasonally at nine stations located along the impounded large river in Turkey. Perch largely preferred fish (36%), insects (54%), other crustaceans (16%) and daphnia (13%). Spatial analysis showed that perch substantially preferred fish in the river section above the dam lakes and insects, crustacean and fish in the river section below the dam lake and in dam lakes. The perch at every size seemed to prefer fish with the highest and lowest percentage obtained for 0 to 80 and 141 to 200 mm. Insects and crustaceans were important for 81 to 140 mm and 0 to 120 mm length, respectively. Crustaceans were important in June, November and July. Insects and fish except for June 2009 constituted an important portion of the diets during every sampling month. The perch showed a piscivory feeding habit, a result obtained by trophic level calculated by stomach contents (3.87) and stable isotope (3.91) methods. Trophic level change little during the ontogeny with relatively higher value obtained for the larger length. The perch inhabiting in the river section above the dam lakes had the highest trophic level compared to the other sites. Diet breadth of perch was lower and higher for larger and middle length (101 to 140 mm), respectively. The diet breadth was higher in dam lakes, indicating opportunistic feeding habits in lakes. Being the most abundant fish species in the study system and showing predatory feeding habits suggested that perch may have an effect on local fish assemblage and itself through predation.

Abstract

WOS: 000424730000004 Salmo munzuricus, new species, is described from Munzur Stream (Euphrates River drainage), which flows through Munzur Valley National Park, in Turkey. It is distinguished from other Anatolian Salmo species by having a large adipose fin in male (almost as large as dorsal or anal fins in older males), with a very narrow white margin, then red submarginal band, then a white stripe or spots, then red again in males. It is also distinguished by having a silvery general body colour in life; numerous ocellated black spots on middle of flank but missing on the back, their number usually increasing with increasing size in both sexes; a few ocellated red spots on body, scattered on median part of the flank.

Abstract

A new subspecies, Mixobates brachypalpis ozkani subsp. nov., is described from a stream in the Rize region (Eastern Black Sea coast, Turkey). The new subspecies can be easily distinguished from the type material of M. brachypalpis, a species reported only from the locus typicus in Russia, by the more elongated and slender I-L-5/6. In addition, 3 water mite species (Torrenticola oraviensis (Láska, 1953), Torrenticola thori (Halbert, 1944) and Mideopsis roztoczensis Biesiadka and Kovalik, 1979) are reported for the first time from Turkey.

Abstract

Bisphosphonate-induced osteonecrosis of the jaw (BIONJ) is a commonly encountered side effect of Bisphosphonates (BPs). Although certain aspects of BIONJ have been studied, the effects of BPs on the proliferation, differentiation, and maintenance of dental stem cells (DSC) in way that might account for development of BIONJ have not been evaluated. In the current study, Dental Pulp Stem Cells (DPSCs), Periodontal Stem Cells (PDLSCs), and human Tooth Germ Stem Cells (hTGSCs) were characterized and then each stem cell type were treated with selected BPs: Zoledronate (ZOL), Alendronate (ALE), and Risedronate (RIS). Negative effect on osteogenesis capacity of DSCs has not been observed after differentiation experiments in vitro. BPs exerted inhibitory effect on the migratory capacities of stem cells confirmed by in vitro scratch assay analysis. Angiogenesis of endothelial cells was blocked by BPs treatment in tube formation analysis. In conclusion, inhibitory effects of BPs on migration capacity of DSCs localized in close proximity to the jaw bone might be the primary reason for the side effects of BPs in the development of BIONJ process. Therefore, further in vivo evidence is required to investigate DSC properties in BP treated animals which might elucidate the importance of DSCs in BIONJ formation. © 2018, Springer Nature B.V.

43. Elbow interposition arthroplasty in a young adult: A case report.

Abstract

Introduction: Posttraumatic elbow arthritis in young adults is a rare yet challenging condition, presenting primarily with progressive pain and stiffness that limits functional activities. Achieving a functional, low-pain elbow joint with future treatment options is essential for younger, active patients. Unlike total elbow arthroplasty (TEA), which is prone to loosening in young patients, interposition arthroplasty (IA) offers bone preservation, pain reduction, and improved joint function., Case Presentation: A 22-year-old male presented with four years of right elbow pain and stiffness following a sports-related injury. Initial closed reduction and subsequent surgeries led to progressive stiffness. The patient underwent IA with a fascia lata graft and controlled postoperative physiotherapy. Postoperative management included a 6-week removable POP slab and a 24-week hinged brace, allowing for active range of motion exercises starting at 3-4 weeks., Clinical Discussion: Interposition arthroplasty (IA) has become a viable alternative to total elbow arthroplasty (TEA), especially in younger, active patients. IA aims to restore joint function by interposing a biological material such as a fascia lata graft between the damaged bone surfaces of the joint. The fascia lata graft acts as a spacer, reducing pain and facilitating improved motion while preserving the underlying bone structure. Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to define a new surgical method using a neurotized platysma free flap to provide dynamic reanimation, enhanced functional recovery, and low morbidity for blepharoptosis repair., Methods: Ten hemifaces and neck halves of five formalin-fixed cadavers were included in the study. The origin of the neurovascular structures of the pedicle was identified at the submandibular triangle. A 5 × 3 cm platysma flap was dissected. For the recipient side, the main donor vascular structures were observed at the frontal part of the temporal region. The diameters of the donor structures were measured with a digital Vernier caliper. The statistical analysis of the study was performed with Jamovi statistical software version 2.3.36. P < 0.05 was accepted as a statistically significant value., Results: At the donor region, the pedicle included branches of the cervical branch of the facial nerve and the facial artery in all specimens. However, the venous graft pedicle origin could be either the facial vein or the lingual vein. At the recipient region, the mean diameters of the most anterior nerves, arteries, and veins were 1, 2.03, and 2.37 mm respectively. In a side comparison of pedicle variables, only pedicle artery diameter and lateral palpebral commissure-anterior superior point of auricula distance had statistically significant differences between hemifaces., Conclusion: A 5 × 3 cm size platysma flap located in the submandibular trigone would be a good choice for functional blepharoptosis surgery. The thin structure and the appropriate neurovascular pedicle structure should enable performing a successful flap transfer., Competing Interests: Declarations. Abstract

Pulmonary amyloidosis is an extremely rare disease, often detected incidentally because of its asymptomatic nature and potential to result in fatal outcomes. In this study, we aimed to present the clinical and radiological features of patients diagnosed with pulmonary amyloidosis by biopsy. This descriptive study included 21 patients with pathologically diagnosed pulmonary amyloidosis. Pulmonary amyloidosis was classified as diffuse alveolar-septal amyloidosis (DASA), cystic amyloidosis (CPA), tracheobronchial amyloidosis (TBA), nodular amyloidosis (NPA), and extraparenchymal pulmonary amyloidosis (pleural and mediastinal lymph node). Clinical, bronchoscopic, and radiological specific characteristics were presented in detail to be used for differential diagnosis. The median age of the patients was 63 (40-83) years, and 14 (66.7%) were male. Twenty patients (95.2%) presented with at least 1 comorbidity. All patients diagnosed with tracheobronchial amyloidosis were symptomatic at presentation, whereas those diagnosed with NPA/extraparenchymal amyloidosis were often asymptomatic. The patients included 1 case of DASA, 1 case of CPA, 10 cases of NPA, 6 cases of TBA, and 3 cases of extraparenchymal amyloidosis involving the mediastinal lymph node and pleura. Sixteen patients (76.2%) were classified as localized amyloidosis, while 5 patients (23.8%) were classified as systemic amyloidosis following the diagnosis of multiple myeloma, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren's syndrome, and B-cell lymphoma. Bronchoscopic biopsies were sufficient for diagnosis, and notably, even transbronchial needle aspiration could be a useful diagnostic method. During the follow-up, we observed that the disease remained stable without progression. However, it is important to note that patients with concurrent malignancies experience fatal outcomes. In conclusion, it is crucial to distinguish pulmonary amyloidosis from other pulmonary diseases such as malignancies, infectious diseases, and interstitial lung diseases, which may have similar clinical and radiological findings. Bronchoscopic diagnostic methods are usually sufficient for the diagnosis. Food packaging is essential for preserving food safety and quality while also addressing environmental concerns. Designers are at the forefront of developing packaging solutions that not only meet functional requirements but also align with evolving consumer preferences and sustainability concerns. To inform designers, this paper discusses fundamental principles of food packaging technology, encompassing aspects such as food preservation, distribution, marketing, usability, and disposal. It provides examples of innovations in active and smart packaging, nanotechnology, material biodegradability, and recyclability, as well as strategies to reduce packaging waste. Abstract

Oxynoemacheilus fatmae, a new species, is found in the Güzelhisar Stream in the northern Aegean Sea basin. It is differentiated from all other species of Oxynoemacheilus in the northern Aegean Sea and adjacent basins by having four to eight irregularly shaped narrow black bars on the posterior part of flank, and anterior parts of the flank with a marbled pattern. O. fatmae is differentiated from the closest species Oxynoemacheilus theophilii by having 14 fixed diagnostic nucleotide substitution sites, and the pair-wise genetic distance is 2.22%. It further differs from O. theophilii by having a slenderer body (body at dorsal-fin origin: 15%-17% standard length [SL] vs. 17%-18%), a slenderer caudal peduncle (10%-12% SL vs. 12%-13%), a more forked caudal fin (length of middle caudal-fin lope: 16%-19% SL vs. 19%-23%), and the absence the dorsal and ventral adipose crests on the caudal peduncle behind the vertical of the posterior anal-fin base (vs. present). Three species delimitation tests (assemble species by automatic partitioning (ASAP), automatic barcode gap discovery (ABGD) and generalized mixed yule-coalescent (GMYC)) and phylogenetic analyses reinforce the validity of O. fatmae as a distinct species., (© 2024 The Authors. 49. Management of airway complications following lung transplantation: first interventional bronchoscopy report from Türkiye.

Abstract

Background/aim: Lung transplantation is the treatment of last resort for many chronic lung diseases. Airway complications (AC) following lung transplantation, such as bronchial stenosis, dehiscence, malacia, and fistula, account for frequent hospital admissions, additional treatment costs, decreased quality of life, and reduced survival rates. Beyond surgical and medical preventive efforts, interventional bronchoscopy (IB) can be used in the management of these complications. The aim of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of IB on the management of AC following lung transplantation., Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was done using the data of lung transplant patients with AC referred to the interventional pulmonology unit between December 2012 and December 2019., Results: From a total of 116 lung transplants, the data of 14/116 (12%) patients and 14/220 (6.3%) anastomoses in the same lung transplant group with AC requiring IB were analyzed. In these 14 patients, the diseases leading to lung transplantation were interstitial lung diseases (ILD) (50.0%), bronchiectasis (28.6%), pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) (7.1%), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (7.1%), and COPD + bronchiectasis (7.1%). Airway stenosis was the most common airway complication, and it developed mostly in the right bronchial system.The 14 patients underwent 27 total sessions of IB with an average of 2-3 per patient. Airway patency was successfully achieved in 74.1% of the procedures. Mechanical dilatation with a balloon and/or a rigid tube was the most preferred procedure (81.5%). Permanent airway patency was achieved in eight (57.4%) patients. No early complications were encountered (0%). The late complication rate was 48.1%. The most frequent late complication was restenosis, which cannot be directly attributed to IB., Conclusion: IB is safe to perform on lung transplant patients with AC. It has low procedural complication rates and can be performed repeatedly. Abstract

Purpose: Candida auris is increasingly being isolated from patients all over the world. It has five clades. In this study, it was aimed to compare the results of biochemical tests obtained using different methods and the antifungal susceptibility profiles of C. auris strains isolated from the first seven cases reported in Türkiye, and evaluate whether this information could be useful as preliminary data in determining the clade of strains in centers that lack the opportunity to apply molecular methods., Methods: Identification test results obtained using API ID 32 C, API 20 C AUX, VITEK-2 YST, and MALDI-TOF MS; colony color and morphology on Chromagar Candida, CHROMagar Candida Plus media, and cornmeal-Tween 80 agar; susceptibility to antifungals were tested and compared. Antifungal susceptibility test was studied using microdilution method according to the recommendations of EUCAST. Additionally, a pilot study was conducted to investigate the value of CHROMagar Candida Plus., Results: All seven strains were identified as Lachancea kluyveri with API ID 32 C, Rhodotorula glutinis; Cryptococcus neoformans with API 20 C AUX, and C. auris with both VITEK-2 YST and MALDI-TOF MS. MIC values for fluconazole were very high (≥64 mg/L) for all seven strains. It was observed that 11 (37.9%) of 29 Candida parapsilosis strains formed colonies with morphology similar to C. auris on CHROMagar Candida Plus medium, leading to false positivity., Conclusions: Although there have been many isolations of C. auris in our country in recent years, clade distribution of only a small number of strains is known yet. In this study, when the biochemical properties and antifungal susceptibility profiles of the seven strains were evaluated, it was concluded that they exhibited some characteristics compatible with clade I.
