25. A Hierarchy Fuzzy MCDM Method for Studying Electronic Marketing Strategies in the Information Service Industry.

Abstract

In this paper, the impacts of Electronic Commerce (EC) on the international marketing strategies of information service industries are studied. In seeking to blend humanistic concerns in this research with technological development by addressing challenges for deterministic attitudes, the paper examines critical environmental factors relevant to Internet commerce in changes in the international marketing environment from the viewpoints of business activity, socio-economics, and information management. The need for a new marketing paradigm for EC, which comes out of trends in international electronic marketing, is also examined. The impacts of EC for the information service industry are discussed, and a hierarchy fuzzy multicriteria decision-making (Fuzzy MCDM) method for evaluating the propagating EC market strategies is proposed. The process of evaluating the hierarchy strategies includes three steps: (1) assessing the weights of each strategic item; (2) getting the performance value of each strategic item from the sense of experts; and (3) evaluating the strategic items. Finally, in order to show the practicability and usefulness of this method, an example is taken as a verifiable method. From the results of practical applications in evaluating the electronic marketing strategies, the proposed method is appropriate and appears to be ideal for a fuzzy environment. 28. Contextual Improvement Planning by Fuzzy-Rough Machine Learning: A Novel Bipolar Approach for Business Analytics

Abstract

Nearly all companies need to retrieve valuable information from business data to increase its efficiency or value, and the rising interests of research in this domain could be named as business analytics. Because most of the problems (obstacles) faced by business have to consider a group of complex and interrelated factors, conventional statistics models (e.g., regression) have constraints in resolving these interrelated and complex problems. Therefore, this study proposes a novel multiple attribute decision-making model to resolve—from ranking/selection to improvement planning—the problems of business analytics in finance, based on the similarity with positive contexts (rules) and the dissimilarity with negative ones. The proposed model not only enhances the previous method (i.e., dominance-based rough set approach, DRSA) on ranking within the same decision class, but also provides a contextual approach to guide businesses for systematic improvements. Infused with the modified VIKOR method, the proposed model could support a company to transform analytics into priority contexts, which may guide improvement planning. To show the proposed model, a group of semiconductor companies in Taiwan is analyzed as an empirical case, and three companies are taken as examples to illustrate the ranking and improvement planning processes. The obtained findings thus contribute to bridge the applications of data-driven business analytics to the field of decision science in practice.

32. Cloud E-Learning Service Strategies for Improving E-Learning Innovation Performance in a Fuzzy Environment by Using a New Hybrid Fuzzy Multiple Attribute Decision-Making Model

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to address this problem by applying a new hybrid fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making model including (a) using the fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) technique to construct the fuzzy scope influential network relationship map (FSINRM) and determine the fuzzy influential weights of the fuzzy DEMATEL-based analytic network process (DANP) as well as (b) the modified VIKOR method combining fuzzy influential weights of fuzzy DANP to integrate each criterion of fuzzy performance gaps into dimensions and, overall, to examine the interdependent and feedback problems among various dimensions/criteria of cloud e-learning services for creating the excellent improvement plan based on the FSINRM to implement the strategic orientations. An empirical case of the network communication service industry was used as an example to show the proposed methods and ultimately present the most effective improvement plan for decision-makers to achieve the aspiration level.
