Objectives: This study aimed to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) model that can able automatic tooth numbering, frenulum attachments, gingival overgrowth areas, and gingival inflammation signs on intraoral photographs and to evaluate the performance of this model. Method and materials: A total of 654 intraoral photographs were used in the study (n=654). All photographs were reviewed by 3 periodontists, and all teeth, frenulum attachment, gingival overgrowth areas, and gingival inflammation signs on photographs were labeled using the segmentation method in a web-based labeling software. In addition, tooth numbering was carried out according to the FDI system. An AI model was developed with the help of YOLOv5x architecture with labels of 16795 teeth, 2493 frenulum attachments, 1211 gingival overgrowth areas, and 2956 gingival inflammation signs. The confusion matrix system and ROC analysis were used to statistically evaluate the success of the developed model. Results: The sensitivity, precision, F1 score, and AUC for tooth numbering were found as 0.990, 0.784, 0.875, and 0.989; were found as 0.894, 0.775, 0.830, and 0.827 for frenulum attachment; were found as 0.757, 0.675, 0.714, and 0.774 for gingival overgrowth area, and were found as 0.737, 0.823, 0.777, and 0.802 for gingival inflammation sign, respectively. Conclusion: The results of the present study have shown that AI systems can be successfully used to interpret intraoral photographs. These systems have the potential to accelerate the digital transformation in the clinical and academic functioning of dentistry with the automatic determination of anatomical structures and dental conditions from intraoral photographs

OBJECTIVE: : The aim of this study is to develop an artificial intelligence model to detect cephalometric landmark automatically enabling the automatic analysis of cephalometric radiographs which have a very important place in dental practice and is used routinely in the diagnosis and treatment of dental and skeletal disorders. METHODS: In this study, 1620 lateral cephalograms were obtained and 21 landmarks were included. The coordinates of all landmarks in the 1620 films were obtained to establish a labeled data set: 1360 were used as a training set, 140 as a validation set, and 180 as a testing set. A convolutional neural network-based artificial intelligence algorithm for automatic cephalometric landmark detection was developed. Mean radial error and success detection rate within the range of 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 3 mm, and 4 mm were used to evaluate the performance of the model. RESULTS: Presented artificial intelligence system (CranioCatch, Eskişehir, Turkey) could detect 21 anatomic landmarks in a lateral cephalometric radiograph. The highest success detection rate scores of 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 3 mm, and 4 mm were obtained from the sella point as 98.3, 99.4, 99.4, and 99.4, respectively. The mean radial error ± standard deviation value of the sella point was found as 0.616 ± 0.43. The lowest success detection rate scores of 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 3 mm, and 4 mm were obtained from the Gonion point as 48.3, 62.8, 73.9, and 87.2, respectively. The mean radial error ± standard deviation value of Gonion point was found as 8.304 ± 2.98. CONCLUSION: Although the success of the automatic landmark detection using the developed artificial intelligence model was not insufficient for clinical use, artificial intelligence-based cephalometric analysis systems seem promising to cephalometric analysis which provides a basis for diagnosis, treatment planning, and following-up in clinical orthodontics practice.

Amaç:Antibiyotiklerin uygunsuz kullanımı dünya çapında bir halk sağlığı sorunudur.Ne yazık ki, Türkiye özellikle yüksek oranda antibiyotik reçetesi ile olumsuzbir üne sahiptir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’deki birinci basamakhekimlerinin antibiyotik reçete etmelerinde etkili olan faktörleri belirlemekve hekimlerin akılcı antibiyotik kullanımı konusundaki bilgi düzeylerinideğerlendirmektir.Materyal ve Metot: Bu kesitselçalışma, Ankara ilinde 8 farklı ilçedeki Aile Sağlığı Merkezleri ve ToplumSağlığı Merkezleri'nde gerçekleştirildi. Hekimlere bilgi düzeylerini ve akılcıantibiyotik kullanımı ile ilgili tutumlarını değerlendirmek için, kendilerinincevaplayacağı bir anket uygulandı. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 21.0 yazılımıkullanılarak analiz edildi.Bulgular: Çalışmaya 84 (%42) erkekve 116 (%58) kadın olmak üzere 200 doktor katıldı. Hekimlerin %38,5'ihastaların antibiyotik isteğini reddetmiş olduklarını belirttiler. 11 yıl vedaha uzun süredir hekimlik yapanların “hastanın beklenti ve ısrarı”ndanetkilendiği görülürken, 10 yıl ve daha az süredir çalışanların “eşlik edenhastalık varlığı” ndan etkilendiği görüldü. (p1=0,044, p2=0,012). Hekimlerinantibiyotiklerle ilgili en çok antimikrobiyal direnç ve maliyet konularındabilgi eksiklikleri olduğu saptandı.Sonuç: Antibiyotiklerin rasyonelkullanımı açısından, hekimlerinin antibiyotikler ve antibiyotiklerin akılcıkullanımı ile ilgili bilgi düzeyi ve bunların antibiyotik reçetelemedavranışları ile ilişkisi son derece önemlidir. Bu nedenle, toplumda uygun olmayanantibiyotik kullanımını önlemek açısından gereksiz antibiyotik reçetelenmesineneden olan faktörlerin ortaya çıkarılması önemlidir.&nbsp, Objectives: Theinappropriate use of antibiotics is a worldwide public healthcare problem.Unfortunately, Turkey has a negative reputation with a particularly high rateof antibiotic prescription. The aim of this study is to determine the factorsaffecting Turkish primary care physicians in prescribing antibiotics and toevaluate the knowledge levels of the physicians on the rational use ofantibiotics.Materials and Methods: This cross -sectional study was carried out in Family Health Centers and Community HealthCenters in 8 different districts in Ankara. A self-reporting questionnaire wasadministered to the physicians to evaluate their level of knowledge andattitudes towards the rational use of antibiotics. The data obtained wereanalysed using SPSS 21.0 software.Results: The study included 200 physicians,comprising 84 (42%) males and 116 (58%) females. Of the total physicians, 38.5%stated that they had refused patient’s request for antibiotics. Those who hadbeen working for ≥11 years were seen to be affected by ‘the patient’sexpectations and insistence’ when prescribing antibiotics and those working for≤10 years by ‘the presence of comorbid disease’ (p1=0.044, p2=0.012). Thesubjects on which the physicians were most lacking in knowledge related toantibiotics were determined to be antimicrobial resistance and cost.Conclusion: In terms of the rationaluse of antibiotics, physicians’ knowledge level about antibiotics and rationaluse of antibiotics and their associated behaviour in prescribing antibioticsare extremely important. Therefore, it is important to identify the factorsthat cause unnecessary antibiotic prescription in order to preventinappropriate antibiotic use in the population.

Periyodik sağlık muayenesi(PSM), sağlıklı görüneninsanların yaş, cinsiyet ve risk faktörlerine göre biçimlendirilmiş ve belirlisıklıkta yapılan değerlendirilmeleridir. PSM, görüşme, danışmanlık ve sağlıkeğitimi, aşılama, fizik muayene, bazı laboratuvar tetkikleri gibi işlemlerkullanarak yapılır. PSM, aile hekimliği uygulamalarının önemli bileşenlerindenbirisidir. Dünyada pek çok ülkede PSMile ilgili çalışmalar yapılmakta ve çeşitli kılavuzlar yayınlanmaktadır. AmerikanAile Hekimleri Birliği (AAFP)’nin önerileri de sık takip edilenler arasındadır.Klinisyenlerin metodolojisi açık olan ve güncel bilgiler ışığında hazırlanankılavuzları takip etmeleri önerilmektedir ancak PSM ile ilgili önerileringeliştirilmesinde ideal olan, coğrafi konum, etnik ve kültürel özellikler gibiülkelere özgü verilerin kullanılmasıdır., Periodic health examination(PHE) is an assessment performed in the frequency needed as to the age, sex,and risk factors of people who appear healthy. PHE is conducted using proceduressuch as; interviewing, counseling and health education, vaccination, physicalexamination, and some laboratory tests. PSM is one of the important componentsof family medicine practices. In many countries around the world, PHE studiesare being conducted and various guidelines are published. The recommendationsof the American Association of Family Physicians (AAFP) are also frequentlyfollowed. It is recommended that clinicians follow the open-methodology guidelinesprepared in the light of current knowledge, but the use of country-specificdata such as geographic location, ethnic and cultural characteristics is idealfor the development of PSM recommendations.

Bu çalışmanın amacı; Meyan kökü (Glycyrrhiza glabra) bitkisinden elde edilen ekstraktlar ve sıvıcam karışımı ile ağaç malzemenin boyanması ve yangın geciktiricilik özelliklerinin belirlenmesidir. Bu kapsamda; deneylerde üç odun türü sarıçam (Pinus sylvestris L.), kestane (Castanea sativa Mill.) ve maun (Khaya ivorensis) kullanılmıştır. Meyan kökü ekstraksiyonu kaynatma metoduyla elde edilmiş, mordan maddeleri; alumiyum sülfat (KAl2(SO4)3.18H2O), demir sülfat (Fe2(SO4)3.7H2 O) ve üzüm sirkesi ile sırasıyla 5%, 3% ve 10% oranında karıştırılmış ve %20 oranında sıvıcam maddesi ilave edilmiştir. Elde edilen çözeltiler, ahşap örneklere daldırma metoduyla uygulanmıştır. Yanma testleri ASTM-E 69-02 (2002) standardına uygun olarak yapılmıştır. Deneyler sonucunda yanmada ağırlık kaybı, CO, O2 ve sıcaklık ºC verileri elde edilmiştir. Sonuçlar incelendiğinde meyan kökü ekstraktı, mordan ve hatta sıvıcam katkısının yanmada ağırlık kaybı değerlerine herhangi bir etkisinin olmadığını, fakat sentetik boyaya yakın sonuçlar elde edildiği gözlenmiştir. Bu sebeple sentetik boyaların kullanılabildiği yangın riskinin bulunmadığı yerlerde doğal boyaların kullanılabileceği sonucuna varılabilir. The scope of this study was to determine flame retardation on wood material dyed by eco-friendly Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)and liquid glass mixture. Three species of wood material have been used; scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), chesnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) and mahogany (Khaya ivorensis). Boiling method were used for extraction of Liquorice and then extract were mixed with mordant agents; Aluminum sulphate (KAl2 (SO4 )3 .18H2 O), Iron sulphate (Fe2 (SO4 )3 .7H2 O), and grape vinegar respectively in ratio 5%, 3% and 10% afterwards liquid glass added in ratio 20%. The solution applied to wood materials by using deeping method. The combustion test was realized according to ASTM-E 69-02 (2002) standard. The mass losses release of gasses (CO, O2 ) and the temperature °C differences of samples were detected for each 30 seconds during combustion. The results exhibited that the liquorice extract, mordant agents and even liquid glass had not played operative role against fire effect. However the results of synthetic paint were similar, therefore eco-friendly natural colorants could use instead of synthetic dyes where fire resistance is not desired.

Örneklem anteroposterior çeneilişkisine göre üç gruba ayrıldı; ANB açısı 0°'den 4° 'ye kadar Sınıf I,4°'den büyükse Sınıf II ve 0°’den küçükse Sınıf III olarak belirlendi. Üç boyutlugörüntülerde sagittal yön açılanmalarını değerlendirmek için Simplant O&ODental Software kullanıldı. Havayolu ölçümü için KIBT görüntüleri Romexisyazılım programında DICOM formatında elde edildi. Görüntüler 3D DOCTORprogramında, aksiyal kesitler kullanılarak threshold değerlerine göreincelendi. Hava yolu segmentasyonu ile hacimleri; spina nazalis posteriordan 4.Servikal vertebranın ilk görüldüğü kesite kadar ölçüldü.Bulgular: Hastaların yaş aralığı 16-33 arasında olup (20,94 ± 4,48), 31’i kadın,15’i erkekti. Anemi, hemoglobin, hematokrit veya eritrosit düzeylerinin yaş ve cinse göre belirlenen normal değerlerinin altında olmasıdır. Hemoglobin tarafından dokulara oksijen taşınmasının yetersiz olduğu, pediatri kliniğinde sık karşılaşılan bir durumdur. Yapılan çalışmalar göstermiştir ki, gelişmekte olan ülkelerde 5 yas altı çocuklarda anemi sıklığı %39 olarak bildirilirken 5 -14 yaş arası çocuklarda %48'dir. Anemi tanısı konulan hastaların yarısı demir eksikliği anemisi olarak bildirilmiştir. Demir eksikliği anemisinin klinik spektrumu çok geniştir. En önemli non-hematolojik komplikasyonu ise kardiyovasküler sistem üzerinedir. Demir eksikliği anemisinin kalpte oluşturduğu elektrokardiografik değişikliklerin araştırılması amacıyla; DEA tanısı alan ve tedavi edilen hastaların QT, QTc, Tpe intervali, Tpe/QTc ve QT dispersiyon parametreleri tedavi öncesi ve tedavi sonrası değerlendirilmiştir. Hemoglobin is a common condition in pediatric clinic where oxygen transport to tissues is insufficient. Studies have shown that the prevalence of anemia in children under 5 years of age is reported to be 39% in developing countries and 48% in children between 5 and 14 years of age. Half of the patients with anemia were reported as iron deficiency anemia. The clinical spectrum of iron deficiency anemia is very wide. The most important non-hematological complication is the cardiovascular system. Anatomical anomalies of the soft tissue and craniofacial skeleton may affect the volume and morphology of the pharyngeal airway space. The aim of this study, to evaluate the airway volumes in patients with class I, II and III skeletal patterns based on cephalometric analysis by cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: This study was performed on the CIBT sections of 46 individuals who applied for orthodontic treatment. Patients were divided into three groups according to the anteroposterior jaw relationship; The angle ANB was Class I from 0 ° to 4 °, Class II if greater than 4 °, and Class III if less than 0 °. Simplant O & O Dental Software was used to evaluate sagittal direction angles in threedimensional images. CBCT images for airway measurement were obtained in Romexis software program in DICOM format. Images were examined according to threshold values in 3D DOCTOR program by using axial sections. Airway segmentation and volume were measured from the spina nasalis posterior to the 4. cervical vertebra. Results: The patients age was between 16-33 (20.94 ± 4.48), 31 were female and 15 were male. 15 patients were classified as Class I, 20 were Class II and 11 were Class III according by anteroposterior jaw relationship. WOS: 000403134800053 The photocatalytic degradation of olive mill wastewater (OMW) of TiO2/V2O5/AC and TiO2/ WO3/AC (activated carbon) catalysts, prepared by a sol gel method in aqueous solution was investigated. Initially, the TiO2/V2O5/AC and TiO2/WO3/AC nanoparticles were obtained using a sufficient thermal treatment by gradually increasing the temperature from 300, 400 and 500 degrees C with 1 h intervals for a total of 3 h. Then, the characterizations of these materials were carried out using (SEM), (TEM), (EDX), (FTIR) and X- (XRD). Secondly; the photocatalytic degradation of these materials has been investigated in OMW using ultraviolet (UV), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and nanoparticles. Initially, chemical coagulation experiments with lime and alum have been carried out to obtain more treatment. In the photolytic degradation, the effect of catalysis, times, pH, H2O2 and temperature were selected as parameters. The results show that the removal percentage of color, phenol and lignin increased with the use of H2O2 and O-3 together. The percentage removals of color for TiO2/WO3/AC, TiO2/V2O5/AC were 89.55 and 86.30% respectively. In addition, the percentage removals for phenol were 94.30, 96.26% and for lignin 51.96 and 48.08%, respectively. Optimum values for the degradation of color and phenol were found at pH 7.0 using TiO2/WO3/AC, and TiO2/V2O5/AC, whereas, the optimum degradation for lignin was achieved when the solution was pH9.0 for the same nanocomposite materials. The optimum time and temperature were found 24 h at 308K. The pseudo first order model was applied and R-2 values were from 0.90 to 0.99.
