Purpose The clinicopathological or genetic features related to the prognosis of mucinous adenocarcinoma are unknown because of its rarity. The clinicopathological or targetable features were investigated for better management of patients with mucinous adenocarcinoma of the lung. Methods We comprehensively evaluated the clinicopathological and genetic features of 60 completely resected mucinous lung adenocarcinomas. Targetable genetic variants were explored using nCounter and polymerase chain reaction, PD-L1 and TTF-1 expression were evaluated using immunohistochemistry. We analyzed the prognostic impact using the Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test. Results Of the 60 enrolled patients, 13 (21.7%) had adenocarcinoma in situ/minimally invasive adenocarcinoma, and 47 (78.3%) had invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma (IMA). Fifteen patients (25%) showed a pneumonic appearance on computed tomography (CT). CD74-NRG1 fusion, EGFR mutations, and BRAF mutation were detected in three (5%), four (6.7%), and one (1.7%) patient(s), respectively. KRAS mutations were detected in 31 patients (51.7%). Two patients (3.5%) showed immunoreactivity for PD-L1. No in situ or minimally invasive cases recurred. IMA patients with pneumonic appearance had significantly worse recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) (p < 0.001). Furthermore, IMA patients harboring KRAS mutations had worse RFS (p = 0.211). Multivariate analysis revealed that radiological pneumonic appearance was significantly associated with lower RFS (p < 0.003) and OS (p = 0.012). KRAS mutations served as an unfavorable status for RFS (p = 0.043). Conclusion Mucinous adenocarcinoma had a low frequency of targetable genetic variants and PD-L1 immunoreactivity; however, KRAS mutations were frequent. Pneumonic appearance on CT imaging and KRAS mutations were clinicopathological features associated with a worse prognosis.

The data presented in this article are related to the research article entitled “Cyclic Shear behavior of conventional and harmonic structure-designed Ti-25Nb-25Zr β-titanium alloy: Back-stress hardening and twinning inhibition” (Dirras et al., 2017) [1]. The datasheet describes the methods used to fabricate two β-titanium alloys having conventional microstructure and so-called harmonic structure (HS) design via a powder metallurgy route, namely the spark plasma sintering (SPS) route. The data show the as-processed unconsolidated powder microstructures as well as the post-SPS ones. The data illustrate the mechanical response under cyclic shear loading of consolidated alloy specimens. The data show how electron back scattering diffraction(EBSD) method is used to clearly identify induced deformation features in the case of the conventional alloy. 28th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 658-660, Due to its higher photovoltaic efficiency, CPV has the advantage of needing a smaller panel footprint than PV systems. This characteristic makes it ideal for use as an off-grid power supply in remote locations where transportation and site procurement present a challenge. The overall system needs to be compact and light without sacrificing weather resistance. Skilled personnel are scarce in remote areas, so easy setup and maintenance are also important. To meet these demands, we have incorporated three design techniques into the system: a threedimensional panel structure that cuts the wind load by up to 20%, self-learning that counteracts errors in the installation position to eliminate the need for human intervention, and long-life management of lead-acid batteries for less frequent replacement. We describe here our complete system and experimental results gained in field tests.

28th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 98-100, We propose an extremely thin and compact CPV module whose thickness is only several centimeters, about one-tenth the thickness of conventional CPV modules. Our strategy for downsizing the CPV module is to decrease the focal length of the concentrator lens by downsizing the solar cells to the sub-millimeter level and to attach the solar cells directly to the back side of a thin lens array without secondary optics. In addition to the thickness reduction, the use of micro-solar cells provides another advantage in that it suppresses the negative impact of chromatic aberration of refractive lenses on photovoltaic (PV) performance. The latter advantage allows the design of a high-performance compact CPV module without the secondary optics generally needed in conventional CPV modules to eliminate chromatic aberration.To demonstrate our concept, a CPV module with a 400x concentration ratio was assembled by placing triple-junction GaAs solar cells with 0.31 mm2 aperture area on the back side of a lens array using the fluidicassembly method , followed by the attachment of a 1 mm-thick circuit board on the lens array. The lens array was 18 mm thick and had total area of 25 cm2. The solar cells were electrically connected to the circuit board using solder paste. Using this type of module, we demonstrated an uncorrected peak efficiency of 34.7 % and fill factor (FF) of 0.79 under on-sun measurement. The relative decrease in FF caused by chromatic aberration was up to 8 %. Conventional CPV modules using several-millimeter size solar cells with no homogenizing secondary optics typically have twice as much FF reduction due to chromatic aberration compared to our approach. This result indicates that our proposed thin and compact CPV module can achieve high PV performance without secondary optics.

University of Padova in collaboration with Panasonic Corp. has developed in the recent years an in depth reliability analysis of Blu-Ray InGaN Laser Diodes (LD) submitted to CW stress at different driving conditions. The reliability analysis has been focused towards a) the identification of the effects of current, temperature and optical field and b) the identification of the physical mechanism related to degradation. Results show that LD devices exhibit a gradual threshold current increase, while slope efficiency is almost not affected by the ageing treatment. Degradation rate is found to depend on stress temperature and on current level, while it does not significantly depend on the optical field in the cavity. Within this paper we demonstrate that: (i) the degradation rate shows a linear correlation with stress current level; (ii) the Ith increase is correlated to the decrease in non-radiative lifetime (τ nr ); (iii) stress temperature acts as an accelerating factor for LD degradation; (iv) pure thermal storage does not significantly degrade LDs characteristics.
