This study aims to investigate the perceptions of Generation Z students about ideal learning after the pandemic in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. There were 30 students from 6 different campuses in Serang City, Banten, Indonesia, who used a purposive sampling technique as research participants. Data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews, which were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings of this study state that there are four main themes regarding ideal post-pandemic learning, namely: (a) learning that is not monotonous, (b) equal portions of theory and practice, (c) ideal learning managed by an ideal lecturer, and (d) the need for the application of blended learning. This research contributes to the current literature on designing ideal learning on campus after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The health and sustainability of coral reefs are influenced by the complex interactions of various organisms, and one indicator of their health is the presence of herbivorous reef fish. This study aims to analyze the health of coral reefs based on the abundance of herbivorous reef fish in the waters of Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar. The research was conducted in October 2023 at three stations. Data collection was carried out using the Point Intercept Transect (PIT) method for coral monitoring, while the herbivorous fish were assessed using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) Belt Transect method. The results showed that the abundance of herbivorous reef fish ranged from 1597.92 ind/ha to 5918.18 ind/ha, with a total of families, 12 genera, and 25 species of herbivorous reef fish identified. The percentage of algae cover ranged from 4.65% to 35.55%. This study indicates an inverse relationship between the abundance of herbivorous reef fish and algae cover. As the abundance of herbivorous reef fish increases, the percentage of algae cover decreases.

The Krueng Raya waters in Aceh Besar, which serve as a habitat for coral reef ecosystems, face the threat of microplastic pollution. This pollution is caused by human activities such as tourism, fishing, and domestic waste, leading to the generation of plastic waste and microplastics. Microplastics have the potential to disrupt the balance of marine ecosystems due to their non-degradable and toxic nature to organisms. This study aims to analyze the abundance and types of microplastics in sediment from coral reef ecosystems at three locations in Krueng Raya waters (Inong Bale, Ahmad Rhang Manyang, and Lhok Mee) and evaluate the correlation between microplastic abundance and live coral conditions. Data were collected in June 2021 using the probability sampling method, which ensures samples are logically and representatively selected from the microplastic population. Microplastic samples were collected around the coral reef area using a PVC pipe with a diameter of 10 cm. Field data were then analyzed in a marine biology laboratory using a microscope, categorizing the microplastics into three types:fragments, fibers, and films. Laboratory analysis showed an average microplastic abundance of 16,67 particles/kg, with fragments being the dominant type. Lhok Mee station exhibited the highest abundance (20,4 particles/kg) due to high levels of human activity. No correlation was found between microplastic abundance and live coral conditions, indicating the need for further research to understand this relationship. These findings underscore the importance of waste management to protect marine ecosystems.

This study aimed to investigate whether communication patterns, peers' involvement and gender different can be the predictors of adolescent bullying behavior. This study involved 193 adolescents of grade 8 and 9 with the most adolescents of 14 years old who had filled in questionnaires. The results showed the prevalence of adolescent involvement in bullying which was 62.69%. Parental communication patterns have an OR = 1.64 (95% CI=0.87-3.09). Peers involvement in bullying behavior (OR=1.92; 95% CI=1.01-3.66). Adolescent girls were more involved in bullying behavior (59.59%) compared to adolescent boys (OR=3.32; 95% CI=1.69-6.54). Poor parental communication patterns, peers influence negatively predict to the bullying behavior in adolescent. Bullying is higher in boys than girls where as boys has a greater chance of bullying than girls. Therefore, bullying intervention programs are needed in schools.

The crowing of male Gallus exhibits diverse sound patterns. This is believed to be related to the phenotypic diversity of vocal organs, one of which is influenced by the nucleotide diversity of the associated genes. The SOX9 gene, involved in cartilaginous tissue growth and development, is reported to contribute e in the development of larynx and syrinx. This study aimed to characterize the CDS regions of exons 1 and 2 of the SOX9 gene in junglefowl to assess its diversity. Genomic DNA was extracted from ten individuals of G. varius from Lombok and Sumbawa. The CDS regions of SOX9 gene exons 1 and 2 were amplified using two primer pairs. Additionally, the CDS regions of SOX9 gene exons 1 and 2 from 54 junglefowl SRA data in an online repository were mapped and analyzed. The study identified all nucleotide sequences as CDS regions of SOX9 gene exons 1 and 2. Six shared, and 24 unique haplotypes were constructed. A putative amino acid sequence common to all Gallus species was also identified. The diversity observed in the CDS regions of SOX9 gene exons 1 and 2 nucleotide sequence showed a different level with the diversity observed in its amino acid sequence.

The concept of national identity in the nation-state is influenced by ethno-cultural identity. However, the decline in understanding and awareness among the younger generation in Indonesia has led to a national identity crisis, especially in the border areas. This research becomes a pioneer study investigating the forms and teachers' involvement in strengthening students' national identities at the border areas. The ethnographic approach reveals the depth of teachers' involvement, including students and school communities on the Indonesia-Malaysia border. This study shows that teachers' involvement is mainly through cultural festival activities, in which ethno-cultural identities that contain knowledge of ethnic groups in Indonesia are introduced. The teacher's success brings psychological changes shown in students' awareness and behaviour. This study provides insights and solutions that can be used to reduce the impact of the crisis and reflect views related to national identity. As input, ethno-cultural identity is paramount to strengthen the concept of national identity in the nation-state, especially for the younger generation.

Macrozoobenthos is a sedentary aquatic biota and is often used as a bioindicator for assessing water conditions. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the species diversity of the macrozoobenthos and to analyze the heavy metal contamination in Faunus ater in the Rasian and Asahan estuaries in Aceh Province, Indonesia. The sampling was carried out in July 2022 on a squared transect of 1 m × 1 m for the collection of macrozoobenthos samples at random locations. The results showed that there were 17 macrozoobenthos species from both locations, of which 14 species were found in the Rasian River estuary and seven species in the Asahan River estuary. The diversity index of macrozoobenthos was in a moderate category. Terebralia sulcata had a higher density in the Asahan River, while F. ater had a higher density in the Rasian River. The results of the heavy metal analysis in the F. ater sample showed that this macrozoobenthos was contaminated by mercury, cadmium, and lead, of which the concentration of mercury exceeded the threshold limit, and they are, therefore, not safe for consumption.

Information on the production and reproductive performances of local chickens is crucial for the development of genetic improvement as well as for fostering poultry industry resilience. With limited data available, this study aimed to analyse the production and reproduction of Tukong chickens, a variety of chicken known for its rumpless, originating from West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Two hundred five Tukong chickens, comprising 153 hens and 52 roosters, were raised under intensive management for the study. The collected data included egg production, reproduction traits, and rooster sperm quality. The average body weight of the hens was 1140.55 ± 260.78 g, while the roosters weighed 1434.16 ± 387.43 g. Other production traits, such as first egg weight, number of eggs per clutch, number of clutches per year, average egg weight, and hatching weight, were lower compared to other local chicken breeds in Indonesia. The female chicken had its first egg laid at 241.64 ± 24.65 d, with a fertility rate of 75.34 ± 1.43% and a hatchability rate of 83.05 ± 1.28%. All parameters related to sperm quality in Tukong chickens fell within normal ranges. The findings of this study suggest opportunities for furthering breeding improvements for the Tukong chicken. Highlights: Information on the production and reproduction performances of Tukong chicken in Indonesia is still limited. Although the production performances are lower than other local breeds, the reproduction characteristics of Tukong chicken are within the normal ranges and could be improved through further breeding programmes. Tukong is one of the indigenous chicken breed from Indonesia, which exhibits an abnormality in their tail development, known as rumpless chicken. Despite its potential role for the local community, information regarding this unique breed's phenotypic and genetic characteristics is scarce. The present study aimed to characterise 205 (53 roosters and 152 hens) Tukong indigenous chickens (>8 months old) based on 7 phaneroptic characteristics and 10 morphometrics traits. The results showed that the roosters predominant plumage colour of the neck, body, and back were red, black, and red, respectively, while those for the hens were all black. Most roosters and hens had yellow beak, red comb, pea comb, red earlobe, orange eye, yellow shank, and white skin. Variations were also found in morphometrics traits. Diversity phaneroptic characteristics and morphometrics observed in Tukong chicken for evaluations to identify resources for effective breed improvement and conservation strategies of indigenous chickens in Indonesia. HIGHLIGHTS: Phaneroptic characterisation and morphometrics of Tukong an indigenous rumpless chicken from Indonesia, is important as first step in designing a breeding program. Miscanthus is one of the potential bioenergy crops in the world. This non-woody biomass can grow almost anywhere and does not require high cultivation costs. Its energy content is approximately 525 GJ/ha/year, the highest among other non-woody biomass. This research aims to study the potency of Miscanthus × giganteus as fuel in a suspended furnace. Some combustion characteristics of Miscanthus particles were determined experimentally and numerically. At a 40°C/min heating rate, the particle's initial and active decomposition temperatures are 197 and 352°C, respectively. The study also reveals that the combustion mode of the Miscanthus particles was affected by the furnace temperature. At furnace temperatures of 300–400°C, the combustion mode of the Miscanthus particles refers to the simultaneous combustion model. While, at temperatures 450–600°C, its combustion produces extensive flames and is called the sequential combustion model. The extensive flames are useful in cyclone furnaces to maintain combustion stability. Under cold modelling, the average drag time of the representative particles with an equivalent diameter of 1384 µm, in a typical furnace, is 26.82 s, much higher than its combustion time of 11.25 s. Microplastic might be a small size of plastic that is directly released into the environment or the result of larger in size of plastic degradations. The presence and effect of microplastic have been reported globally. However, the existence of microplastic trapped in beach sediment of Nasi Island is limited. This research was conducted to analyse the type of sediment, abundance and type of microplastic polymer found in beach sediments in Nasi Island, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Sampling was carried out in April 2022 at Nipah Beach and Alue Riyeung Beach in Nasi Island, Aceh Besar Regency. Sediment type was analysed by dry sieve method, using a stratified sieve shaker while the observation of microplastic and its polymer were identified by microscope and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), respectively. The results showed that the types of sediment at both beaches belonged to the sand type. There were three types of microplastics found, namely fragments, films, and fibres. The highest abundance of microplastics was found in a 0.063mm filter at Nipah Beach with an amount of 2651 Particles/Kg while the lowest was found in a 0.125mm filter with an amount of 8 Particles/Kg at Alue Riyeung Beach. As the polymer types, it is found that fragment type microplastics are likely to have PETE (Polyethylene Terephthalate) polymers, film type microplastics are likely to have PS (Polystyrene) polymer types and Fibre microplastics are likely to have LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) polymers.

The research in Aceh Jaya District identified nine turtle nesting beaches: Babah Kuala, Patek, Babah Ngom, Kuala Doe, Rigaih, Alue Piet, Nisero, Aroen Meubanja, and Seunebok Padang. Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) and Leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea) turtles inhabit these coastal areas. Nisero beach, Kuta Tuha Village, Panga Sub-District, recorded the highest nest count (12 nests) with both Leatherback and Olive Ridley turtles. Seunebok Padang beach, Seunebok Padang Village, Teunom Sub-District, had the lowest count (2 Olive Ridley turtle nests). Aroen Meubanja beach is the only one with protected status, while the remaining eight face the threat of egg poaching. Unprotected beaches are at high risk, emphasizing the importance of conservation for sea turtle survival and the local economy, particularly through tourism development. Beyond Aceh Jaya, Indonesia features other significant sea turtle nesting sites, like Pangumbahan beach in West Java and Wairundi Island and Venu Island in West Papua Province. The study evaluates various beach characteristics, including width and slope, influencing sea turtle nesting activities. Sediment analysis reveals predominant medium sand textures in Aceh Jaya District, contributing to suitable nesting conditions and emphasizing the need for targeted conservation efforts.

Coral Trout (Plectropomus leopardus) is a species of grouper that is highly valued and the main commodity in Simeulue Regency. This research aims to identify the supply chain, calculate the value of fisheries production and the percentage of production of Coral Trout (Plectropomus leopardus) in the PiSiSi Simeulue MPA. It is hoped that the benefit of this research will be market literacy so that it can be used as consideration for management policies and optimization of fisheries marketing in Simeulue Regency. The research was carried out in March-April 2023 through interviews, field surveys and collecting data on purchases/sales of Coral Trout from collectors. The results of the research show that there is a production value of Coral Trout that is different for each buyer in Simeulue Regency. The production value generated by buyers (collectors) was IDR 1,293,195,632 with a total weight of 10.23 tons. The fisheries sector in the PiSiSi MPA contributes to Coral Trout fish production of 41.47% or IDR. 536.3 million in 2022. Based on this research, Coral Trout fish is sold to local communities, processing coMPAnies and exporters in Belawan, North Sumatra and Jakarta.

This kitchen stove craft business is basically limited by capital, raw materials, and difficulties in marketing. Kitchen stove craftsmen only depend on the demand of collectors, making it difficult for them to make kitchen stove products at high prices. In addition, buyers are more interested in more modern products. This study aims to describe the welfare of kitchen stove craftsmen in Banjar Baru village, South Daha subdistrict Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency. This research is a field research using a qualitative descriptive approach. The subject is the kitchen stove craftsmen, the object is the welfare of the kitchen stove craftsmen. While the data sources are respondents and informants from various related parties. The results showed that the welfare of kitchen stove craftsmen in Banjar Baru Village, South Daha Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, who were categorised as Pre-Prosperous families, totalled 3 families. The Prosperous Family I category totalled 13 families. The Prosperous Family II category totalled 2 families. And in the Prosperous Family III category, there were 5 families. It can be concluded that the welfare of kitchen stove craftsmen in Banjar Baru Village, South Daha Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency is dominated by the Prosperous Family I stage. In developing countries like Indonesia, responsible agencies have yet to consider in-depth factors in building better teacher performance in secondary education. Contemporary educational research has explored the relationship between motivation and professional development on teacher performance. However, there needs to be more understanding of this relationship with family sociological conditions, levels of managerial support, and different working conditions. This research examines how motivation and professional development can determine teacher performance by involving these three conditions. This research involved 474 secondary education teachers voluntarily and with specific criteria profiles tailored to their needs. Data collection was assisted using a closed questionnaire with a four-point Likert scale, tested for validity and reliability. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze data through path analysis and bootstrap methods. The findings prove the importance of motivation and professional development supported by family sociological conditions, managerial support, and proportional workload in determining teacher performance. These results shed light on secondary education providers in strengthening professional development and simultaneously strengthening teacher motivation which has so far often been overlooked. The strategy used is to provide support in the managerial aspect to create work comfort and a proportional workload to make it easier for teachers to carry out technical development. Lastly, support and positive relationships from the family contribute to strengthening the teacher's mentality which leads to strengthening work motivation. In conclusion, teacher performance in secondary education can be optimal by carrying out self-development, strengthening motivation, proportional performance, in addition to managerial and family support in establishing mental health. The Tukong chicken, renowned for its unique rumpless trait, is indigenous to West Kalimantan, Indonesia. This study endeavors to explore the intricate associations among hatching weight, egg weight, and egg index within the Tukong chicken breed. A total of 104 Tukong chicken eggs served as the primary research material, sourced from 10 female hens paired with 5 male counterparts. To ensure consistent data, the chickens were reared under uniform conditions and management practices. The parameters examined encompassed hatching weight, egg weight, egg length, egg width, and egg index. Comprehensive data analysis, including descriptive and correlation analyses employing SPSS version 25 software, unveiled specific metrics for the Tukong chickens in these dimensions: hatching weight (31.09±2.47 g), egg weight (42.65±4.59 g), egg length (49.84±2.33 mm), egg width (38.84±1.96 mm), and egg index (78.04±4.55%). Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic is the most widely used type of plastic that produces waste and causes various environmental and health problems. The treatment of PET plastic waste with chemically and mechanically recycling approaches still has shortcomings, so biological processing using microorganisms or enzymes has new potential. Two bacterial isolates from the Indonesian Culture Collection of National Research and Innovation Agency (InaCC, BRIN), namely isolate InaCC B538 and InaCC B947, were further observed for their potential in PET plastic degradation. Firstly, both isolates were determined by the molecular marker 16S rDNA. The potential of both isolates was measured with following method: 10 days of degradation using PET and PCL substrates, esterase enzyme activity assay, and observation of the PET plastic surface using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Species identification was performed using DNA sequencing of 16S rDNA. InaCC B538 and InaCC B947 were closely related to Bacillus altitudinis TBMAX41 and Alcaligenes faecalis AN-13, respectively. InaCC B947 isolate has a better potential in degrading PET plastic and PCL with a degradation percentage of 0.32% for PET plastic and 3.22% for PCL film for 10 days, respectively, and esterase activity of 0.06 U/ml; while InaCC B538 did not cause weight loss of PET and 2.49% for PCL, respectively, with esterase activity of 0.04 U/ml. The degradation of PET plastic by the isolates InaCC B947 was able to cause damage to the plastic surface leading to the degradation of PET plastic. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
