The issues concerning the universities are discussed that the universities have become very large, the less full-time scientific and engineering research units have become larger, the education sector has become very large and as a result the association with higher education has transformed to a privileged structures. It is suggested that the field of science needs to be reorganized so that by following the roads to good knowledge, the participants can prosper and gain the resources and reward the values and not the question of transition from a selfless interest to a mean to gain financial resources.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on the legality of race-based affirmative action at universities in 2003. Although the decisions affirmed the legality of considering race in college admissions decisions, their long-term effects are not entirely clear They neither resolved conflicts nor solved problems affirmative action was intended to address, namely, disparities in educational outcomes between Whites and ethnic/racial minorities. Although disparities have diminished since 1965, policies and practices to sustain and further increase diversity in higher education without affirmative action are needed. This article provides historical and conceptual grounding for this JSI issue, which examines approaches for attaining campus diversity. Collectively, the issue provides approaches for increasing diversity as we'll as strategies for managing and benefiting from diversity in postsecondary environments.

When technology promotes ethical good, the dichotomy between the values of the academe and that of the public sector is not pronounced. However, there are many instances wherein this dichotomy becomes glaring.

College and corporate codes of ethics play a significant role in limiting unethical behaviour in the workplace. A survey of the impact of corporate ethics codes and collegiate honor code reveals lower levels of self-reported unethical behavior in respondents employed in firms with a corporate code of conduct. However, self-reported unethical behaviour was negatively correlated with the strength of code implementation and embeddedness. College honor codes experience influenced subsequent workplace ethical behavior, more so in corporations with strong codes of conduct.

Survey respondents were generally supportive of the concept of codes of ethical conduct in colleges and universities. The results of this study indicate that college codes of conduct tend to follow a 'low road' approach. The results also suggest the following needed improvements in college and university codes of conduct: (1) greater emphasis on preventing financial, scientific, and academic fraud; (2) more inclusion of the faculty in the process; and (3) establishment of a proper process for implementation of the code.
