While virtual experiences are becoming more and more established in the everyday world of young people, we still know little about the significance of digital media (in terms of space) for the organisation of lessons. The intertwining of space, education and digitality leads to the question of what influence digital media have on the organisation of lessons. The aim of the article is to use reconstructive analyses of ethnographic observations to show how learning takes place with digital media and which (learning) spaces are created by the actions of the actors in the classroom. The focus is on the perspectives of the actors involved and the structured nature of the spaces. Spatial sociological references provide a theoretical framework. These are used to show, which spatial conditions the actors‘ actions are subject to within lessons with digital media and which spaces they constitute through their actions. In this way, teaching situations become visible, that are characterised by synchronicity or that completely dispense with it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
