Researchers interested in emotions and romantic relationships have long been struggling to find efficient and reliable emotion elicitation techniques. In this article, we present the work of creating and testing the effectiveness of hypothetical scenarios that elicit anger and hurt in romantic relational contexts. In study one, two hypothetical scenarios for each emotion were created using the most frequent categories of recalled affective events. Further on, we tested their effectiveness in eliciting anger or hurt in three different phases. In study two, 337 participants, aged between 18 and 40 (M = 19.93; SD = 3.17), read the scenarios and rated them according to several criteria such as arousal, discreteness, positive and negative induced affectivity. We found that our hypothetical scenarios were effective on discreteness, arousal, and positive and negative affect for eliciting anger and hurt in the contexts of romantic relationships.

According to empirical evidence, there are associations between resilience and stress, resilience and emotion regulation, and emotion regulation and stress. However, studies underlying the mechanisms between resilience and stress among teachers are sparse. This study examines the associations between these variables and investigates which emotion regulation strategies mediate the relationship between resilience and perceived stress among k-12 school teachers. In a sample of 1390 school and high school teachers, with an average of 14.84 years (SD = 10.58) of work experience, resilience was positively correlated with cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression and negatively with perceived stress. Cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression negatively correlated with perceived stress. Results of the multiple mediation model indicated that only expressive suppression mediated the association between participants' resilience and their perceived stress level. Additionally, gender and teaching status represented significant covariates of the mediation model. These results highlight the importance of emotion regulation in understanding how resilience relates to perceived stress among k-12 school teachers.

This paper work tries to spatialize the effects of the anthropic activity on the environment, as the human society continuous development requires space, food, energy and resources and that has a significant impact. Trying to evidentiate this kind of pressure over the environment by cartographic materials, that combines all effects is an impossible endeavor, but highlighting affected areas in an irreversible manner by an increased degree of artificiality is a necessity for the future environmental policy, so, starting from this point we were able to apply a methodology on the studied area and we obtained a seth of conclusing results.

Built on a hilly relief, the city of Yaoundé is exposed to flooding since three decades. They caused human, material and environmental damages. Efficient management of this phenomenon by public authorities should go through a proper control of variables contributing to this hazard. Through various GIS applications based on multi temporal maps and primary data, we developed a detailed mapping of the main natural and human factors responsible for this phenomenon.

The study analyses the spatial and temporal changes occurred in the builtup area of Iași city and its surrounding areas using cartographic materials from different time periods. The paper aims to highlight the areas where the most significant changes took place by identifying the main evolution patterns, generated by certain natural or human-driven factors. The results of the study were achieved by using specific photo-interpretation methods of the available orthophotomaps form 2006 and 2012, mainly using the professional GIS softwares TNT Mips 7.2., ArcGIS 10.2 and Global Mapper 11. The changes have lead on the one hand to the conversion of the former industrial areas and thus, the urban regeneration, but also to the periurbanization phenomenon, with major functional and structural effects.

Practice guidelines for early childhood education (ECE) and clinical autism interventions (Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention, NDBI) have emerged separately in history, represent different disciplines, and operate within different service systems in the United States. This article identifies priorities, principles, and practices that are shared across the NDBI and ECE frameworks, unique to each framework but compatible with the other, or in conflict. Both frameworks support converging inclusive ECE models focused on autism in that they are both grounded in responsive relationships, natural learning environments, and strategies to promote children's motivation and active engagement. While compatible in general, each framework extends the other in important ways. For example, NDBI goes beyond the ECE frameworks by focusing on a more fine-grained examination of learning strategies and targets. Opportunities for bridging gaps are identified, including the use of implementation science frameworks to integrate perspectives from different stakeholder groups, supporting the scale-up of inclusion preschools in community settings.

The goal of the current study was to determine the high-resolution frequencies of the HLA-DRB1 alleles among the analyzed Romanian cohort of healthy stem cell donors. Using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), we estimated class II HLA-DRB1 allele frequencies to a 6-digit resolution through HLA typing in a Romanian cohort of healthy individuals. The study for HLA genotyping included 420 willing donors from the National Registry of Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors (RNDVCSH). In 2020 and 2021, peripheral blood samples were collected and transported to the Fundeni Clinical Institute. We used the Immucor Mia Fora NGS MFlex kit for HLA genotyping. Forty-one different alleles were detected in 420 analyzed samples, out of which the most frequent HLA-DRB1 alleles were DRB1*16:01:01 (12.6%), DRB1*11:04:01 (12.1%) and DRB1*03:01:01 (12%). The HLA-DRB1*11:01:02 and -DRB1*08:04:01, -DRB1*05:01:01, -DRB1*13:05:01, -DRB1*14:07:01, -DRB1*09:01:02, -DRB1*11:02:01, -DRB1*04:07:01, -DRB1*15:03:01, -DRB1*03:02:01, -DRB1*04:06:02, -DRB1*04:08:01, -DRB1*14:05:01 were identified only once. The results revealed similarities with countries belonging to the Eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Caucasus regions. Further studies on larger Romanian cohorts are needed for confirming the current results.

Aim of the study: The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has catalyzed a paradigm shift in emergency dental care, prompting a reassessment of traditional approaches and the adoption of innovative strategies to address evolving challenges. Introduction: This comprehensive study explores the multifaceted landscape of emergency dental care amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, delving into the integration of tele-dentistry, advancements in point-of-care testing, optimization of aerosol-reducing techniques, enhancements in personal protective equipment (PPE), and the pivotal role of public health preparedness and education. Materials and Methods: Through a meticulous review of existing literature and analysis of pertinent studies, this study elucidates the transformative impact of these innovations on emergency dental care provision. Results: Tele-dentistry has emerged as a valuable tool for remote assessment, initial guidance, and triaging of cases, while advancements in point-of-care testing facilitate rapid and accurate diagnosis of COVID-19 infection in dental settings. Moreover, optimization of aerosol-reducing techniques and advancements in PPE design contribute to minimizing viral transmission risks during emergency procedures. Furthermore, this study underscores the importance of robust public health preparedness and education in fostering a proactive approach to dental emergencies and instilling confidence in patients to seek timely care. Collaborative efforts among dental professionals, researchers, and public health authorities are essential in navigating the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic and fortifying preparedness for future crises. Conclusion: This study advocates for the continued integration of innovative solutions and adaptive strategies in emergency dental care, guided by a commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practices, and interdisciplinary collaboration. By embracing these advancements, the dental community can navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and emerge stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to ensure the oral health and well-being of individuals for generations to come.

The process of joining the European Union (EU) represents a complex and significant undertaking for the candidate countries, and the experience of this process can be influenced by a variety of socioeconomic, political and institutional factors. In the context of the Republic of Moldova, which has shown an increased interest in joining the EU, there is an opportunity to learn from the experience of other EU member states that have gone through the accession process in the past. These countries, which have already become EU members, or are candidate states, “have navigated” through similar stages of negotiation, implementation of reforms and adjustment to the standards and requirements of the European community. Their experiences provide a valuable source of information and perspectives for the Republic of Moldova in its own accession process. By analyzing the research and the problems encountered in the EU accession process in other member states, this article aims to identify learned lessons, anticipated challenges and the effective strategies that could be applied in the specific context of the Republic of Moldova.

Candida auris was reported by the WHO as second to Cryptococcus neoformans, in the list of nineteen fungal priority pathogens, along with two species with a new nomenclature, Nakaseomyces glabrata (Candida glabrata) and Pichia kudriavzevii (Candida krusei). This novel classification was based on antifungal resistance, the number of deaths, evidence-based treatment, access to diagnostics, annual incidence, and complications and sequelae. We assessed which molecular assays have been used to diagnose Candida auris outbreaks in the last five years. Using “Candida auris; outbreak; molecular detection” as keywords, our search in PubMed revealed 32 results, from which we selected 23 original papers published in 2019–2024. The analyzed studies revealed that the detection methods were very different: from the VITEK® 2 System to MALDI TOF (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization–Time of Flight), NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing), WGS (Whole Genome Sequencing), and commercially available real-time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) assays. Moreover, we identified studies that detected antifungal resistance genes (e.g., FKS for echinocandins and ERG11 for azoles). The analyzed outbreaks were from all continents, which confirms the capability of this yeast to spread between humans and to contaminate the environment. It is important that real-time PCR assays were developed for accurate and affordable detection by all laboratories, including the detection of antifungal resistance genes. This will allow the fast and efficient implementation of stewardship programs in hospitals.

Following the collapse of the communist regime, Romania underwent significant economic, territorial, and social transformations that exacerbated inequality. To help policymakers create effective economic strategies, it is necessary to pinpoint the areas with the largest disparities. Thus, using spatial statistics available in ArcGIS, the primary goal of this study is to identify spatial clusters/outliers of income per capita. The findings indicate a strong concentration of high incomes at the regional level in Bucharest-Ilfov, West, Centre, and North-West regions. Conversely, low-income groups are concentrated in every other region, and their circumstances do not appear to improve over the course of the analysis period (2007-2021). At the metropolitan level, large cities are particularly home to high-value clusters and their influence within metropolitan areas is outlined.

The storage mechanisms of solid-solid supercapacitors based on graphene oxide (rGO/GO/rGO) were explored by Zhang Q et al. (Zhang et al., 2014) [1], using Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to elucidate the unusual capacitive behavior of GO sandwich films. Their study revealed alternating charged layers without diffusion zones. Analysis of complex impedance (Z*) data, ranging from 10−3 to 3.106 Hz, was conducted using an equivalent circuit, though this was limited to Nyquist plot data.To further investigate charge storage mechanisms, the current study delved deeper into complex impedance (Z*) and conductivity (σ*). A theoretical approach identified relaxation processes in the imaginary parts of (Z″) and (σ'') across frequencies. Extrapolation up to 3.10^9 Hz and deconvolution confirmed three distinct relaxation processes in Z* and σ*, similar to Cole-Cole relaxation, which describes Maxwell-Wagner-Sillars (MWS) relaxation. This reflects local electrical interactions between active sites on molecular chains and counterions, creating induced dipolar moments or diffusion processes.The identified relaxations at low, medium, and high frequencies correspond well with DFT results, attributed to specific regions: graphene oxide (GO), the (rGO/GO) interface, and reduced graphene (rGO). Key parameters extracted from each relaxation, such as relaxation time, ionic strength, and conductivity values at different frequencies, showed good correlation. This approach, based on deep conductivity (σ*) analysis, effectively highlighted the charge conduction and storage mechanisms in rGO/GO/rGO supercapacitor films.

Immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) remains a significant cause of morbidity associated with CD19-targeted chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. Early prediction of patients who will develop ICANS would be crucial to better guide individualized management of high-risk patients, but specific predictive markers are still missing. Serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) levels are a sensitive indicator of neuroaxonal injury in neurological diseases. Elevated NfL levels at the time of CAR T-cell infusion have been associated with the severity of ICANS, but their utility for earlier identification of patients with subclinical neurological damage has not been evaluated.We studied all consecutive adult patients who received commercial CAR T cells for relapsed/refractory B-cell lymphomas at Saint-Louis Hospital between January 2019 and February 2023. Patients with pre-existing or current neurological disease were excluded. NfL levels were quantified in frozen serum collected at the time of the decision to treat (ie, the day of leukapheresis) and at the time of treatment (ie, the day of infusion).Of the 150 study patients, 28% developed ICANS of any grade, including 15.3% of grade 2–4. Receiving a CAR construct with a CD28 domain (58% of patients) was the strongest predictor of grade 2–4 ICANS. Serum NfL levels were significantly higher in patients with grade 2–4 ICANS than in those with grade 0–1 ICANS, both at the time of leukapheresis and infusion. In multivariate models, NfL above the cut-off value was independently associated with grade 2–4 ICANS at leukapheresis (NfL>75 pg/mL, OR 4.2, 95% CI 1.2 to 14.2, p=0.022) and infusion (NfL>58 pg/mL, OR 4.3, 95% CI 1.3 to 13.7, p=0.015).In conclusion, high NfL levels at the time of the decision to proceed with CAR T-cell manufacturing may represent an early surrogate of underlying loss of neuroaxonal integrity that increases the risk of subsequent neurotoxicity. Incorporating NfL levels into the decision-making process based on each patient’s risk profile could help determine the appropriate CAR product when possible, and guide the prophylactic or therapeutic management of ICANS.

Aorto-atrial fistula (AAF) and aorto-ventricular fistula (AVF) are a rare, but potentially life-threatening condition, where an anomalous connection forms between the aortic structures and the cardiac atria or ventricles. The exact incidence of this condition is unknown, as are the major precipitating factors and best treatment options. It may be congenital, secondary to conditions such as aortic dissection, infective endocarditis, or valve replacement, or iatrogenic in nature. In the case reported here a 72-year-old male who was found to have an infective endocarditis complicated by right AAF and AVF. This case illustrates the important role of transesophageal echocardiography in the evaluation of a patient with subacute infective endocarditis with a very rare complication.

The current paper analyses narratives used within the Quran regarding Islam and its relationship/opposition to other religions – focusing on how Islam portrays its mission against other religions as a zero-sum-game. Born in times of war, conquer and geographical expansion, Islam understands its da’wah mission (the act of calling people to embrace Islam) and calculates its gains in terms of losses for its adversaries. As Jihad sums up to be an obligation of any orthodox Muslim, and since many Ayyat (Quranic verses) describe conflict, revenge, war-waging and punishment for the kufr (disbelievers), Islam seems to understand its rapport to other religions in a zero-sum-game logic; briefly put, in order for the one true religion to win, all others must lose.

Background: SARS-CoV-2 is a still new condition whose etiologies and physiopathogensis are still incompletely elucidated, one of the certain things about this condition being the fact that it causes a multisystemic pathological affect. Material and methods: The study was conducted on a sample of 10 patients aged between 40 and 65 years from the Intensive Care Unit. The main inclusion criterion was the presence of chronic respiratory failure exacerbated by SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia, with all patients following the same recovery protocol. Results: The results showed improvement in forced expiratory volume, forced vital capacity, overall mobility, and in quality of life. Conclusion: Respiratory physiotherapy determines a significant improvement of the respiratory function in the patients infected with SARS-CoV-2.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the European Union (EU), and while the mortality rates of diabetes, myocardial infarction, and the total fat intake have been extensively studied, we believe that understanding the interaction between such closely correlated determinants is crucial to the development of effective health policies in the EU. Our paper’s novelty is represented by the econometric modelling, and its ability to capture both temporal and unit variations. The research methodology consists of using a panel data model with fixed effects for the 27 EU member states over the period 2010–2021. The results of the study show that the standardized mortality rate for deaths preventable by prevention and treatment and diabetes-related mortality are significant predictors of total mortality in the EU. The standardized mortality rate for deaths preventable by prevention and treatment had a significant positive impact, suggesting that improved preventive and therapeutic interventions can significantly reduce total mortality. Diabetes-associated mortality also showed a strong positive correlation with total mortality, emphasizing the need for effective diabetes management and prevention strategies. These results are useful for the formulation of public health strategies aimed at improving life expectancy and reducing the burden of chronic diseases.
