Abstract

We consider a manager, who allocates some fixed total payment amount between $N$ rational agents in order to maximize the aggregate production. The profit of $i$-th agent is the difference between the compensation (reward) obtained from the manager and the production cost. We compare (i) the \emph{normative} compensation scheme, where the manager enforces the agents to follow an optimal cooperative strategy; (ii) the \emph{linear piece rates} compensation scheme, where the manager announces an optimal reward per unit good; (iii) the \emph{proportional} compensation scheme, where agent's reward is proportional to his contribution to the total output. Denoting the correspondent total production levels by $s^*$, $\hat s$ and $\overline s$ respectively, where the last one is related to the unique Nash equilibrium, we examine the limits of the prices of anarchy $\mathscr A_N=s^*/\overline s$, $\mathscr A_N'=\hat s/\overline s$ as $N\to\infty$. These limits are calculated for the cases of identical convex costs with power asymptotics at the origin, and for power costs, corresponding to the Coob-Douglas and generalized CES production functions with decreasing returns to scale. Our results show that asymptotically no performance is lost in terms of $\mathscr A'_N$, and in terms of $\mathscr A_N$ the loss does not exceed $31\%$., Comment: 17 pages

Abstract

A dynamic game theoretic model of concordance of interests in the process of social partnership in the system of continuing professional education is proposed. Non-cooperative, cooperative, and hierarchical setups are examined. Analytical solution for a linear state version of the model is provided. Nash equilibrium algorithms (for non-cooperative and cooperative setups) are identified. H. Stakelberg's algorithms of equilibrium solution of the game in hierarchical setup are described (in the general case). A method of building the precise discrete analogue of a continuous model is used for examining the hierarchical setup. Examples of test calculations for different data sets are provided; content interpretation of the results is discussed.

Abstract

We consider a model of fishery management, where $n$ agents exploit a single population with strictly concave continuously differentiable growth function of Verhulst type. If the agent actions are coordinated and directed towards the maximization of the discounted cooperative revenue, then the biomass stabilizes at the level, defined by the well known "golden rule". We show that for independent myopic harvesting agents such optimal (or $\varepsilon$-optimal) cooperative behavior can be stimulated by the proportional tax, depending on the resource stock, and equal to the marginal value function of the cooperative problem. To implement this taxation scheme we prove that the mentioned value function is strictly concave and continuously differentiable, although the instantaneous individual revenues may be neither concave nor differentiable., Comment: 18 pages

Abstract

This article provides an overview of the arguments and counterarguments involved in identifying the state of an enterprise, assessing its functional efficiency, and optimizing its target functions while implementing management tasks. The decentralization of enterprises empowers them to adapt to specific territorial needs. However, it also introduces an element of instability that can be disconcerting. The primary objective of this research is to develop a scientific and methodological approach to modelling the management system of the development of manufacturing enterprises under decentralization. The systematization of literary sources and approaches to the problem of managing the development of manufacturing enterprises reveals that each level of analysis of the state of the enterprise and assessment of its development dynamics and problem situation corresponds to the aggregate set of assessments, which includes both individual indicators and their various groups. At its core lies the crucial recognition of production systems' (PS) state as a pivotal parameter influencing the very fabric of UTC development. The model employs a powerful vector functional approach, allowing for a multi-dimensional assessment of an enterprise's state. The model translates into a tangible metric, empowering informed decision-making and targeted interventions. The relevance of this scientific problem is that the management process of enterprise development under decentralization needs to be more structured and less accidental. There is a need to manage this process to survive and develop in an aggressive market environment. Optimal management of production systems as discrete matrix objects provides an opportunity to consider the functioning of each of them depending on the state of the others at time t of their production to time t+1, which is associated with their further development in a decentralized environment. The results of the research can be helpful for the development of systems for monitoring and strategic management of the development processes of manufacturing enterprises under decentralization. A two-level dynamical game theoretic model "federal state - universities" in open-loop strategies is built and investigated. A refinement of the electronic learning courses, and their differentiation using modern methods of information technologies made by competing a la Cournot universities (agents) are treated as innovative investments. Abstract

This book focuses on hierarchical organizational structures. Secondly, the authors perform modeling in the context of solving control problems. Next, the conditions of corrupting a major task of control consisting of ensuring sustainable development of modeled hierarchical organizations are reviewed. Here, the authors proceed from the original concept of sustainable management (Ougolnitsky, 2002, 2005, 2010, 2011; Ougolnitsky and Usov, 2010-2014). In contrast to the classical approach of G. Becker and S. Rose-Ackerman (which states that the efficiency of anti-corruption struggle is defined via comparing losses due to corruption and the costs of such measures), the above concept applies certain requirements of sustainable development of a modeled system with proper consideration of economic restrictions. Finally, the empirical base and identification of mathematical models is examined.

Nowadays, mining and metallurgical enterprises are necessarily involved in recovering of technogenic deposits generated by their operations. By doing so, they obtain additional mineral resources and improve the environment situation. Studies of the processability of pelletized slag from Kola MMC (Nikel town) have disclosed the possibility increases of extracting non-ferrous metals via electric pulse disintegration method and next processing classic flotation. This is a consequence of the specific physical mechanisms of force loading and cracking inherent only method of electric pulse disintegration of materials (EPD), which has a high selectivity for destruction. To improve the technology of opening and development of oil fields for increasing the completeness of subsoil use, the prospects of using the electric pulse method of drilling are discussed. The concept of creating an electric pulse tunnel system based on submersible source of high-voltage pulses with controllable formation of work space for increasing its maneuverability and creating special technological outputs in a rock mass for forming a cluster of slant and horizontal boreholes with most complete coverage of oil shelves, for location of geophysical monitoring equipment and for other purposes is based.
