A exploração mineral é considerada uma das principais ações antrópicas que causam a poluição do solo com metais, dentre os quais se encontra o manganês (Mn), que quando em excesso pode causar sintomas de toxidez, inibir o crescimento das plantas e causar alterações nas comunidades vegetais. Objetivou-se avaliar os efeitos dos fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA) na tolerância da espécie Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth. ao substrato degradado pelo rejeito da mineração de Mn e mata preservada. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, em arranjo fatorial 2 x 4, considerando-se: i) dois tipos de substrato (degradado pelo rejeito da mineração de Mn e mata preservada); ii) quatro tratamentos de inoculação com FMA (controle não inoculado, Rhizophagus clarus, Claroideoglomus etunicatum e Mix) com quatro repetições. Aos 60 dias após o transplantio, as variáveis analisadas foram: massa da matéria seca da parte aérea e raiz, densidade de esporos, colonização micorrízica, teor de N e P na parte aérea, teor de Mn na parte aérea e raiz e o fator de translocação de Mn. A inoculação com FMA influencia de forma positiva no aumento da massa da matéria seca da parte aérea e raiz, bem como na tolerância da espécie M. caesalpiniaefolia Benth ao Mn. A espécie vegetal apresenta colonização micorrízica mesmo sob condições de baixa densidade de esporos no substrato com elevado teor de Mn. M. caesalpiniaefolia Benth atua como fitoestabilizadora em áreas degradadas pela mineração de Mn, independente da inoculação com FMA

ABSTRACT This study evaluated the effect of salt stress on the growth of banana seedling colonized with mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on a substrate from a Quartzipsamment. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, using a completely randomized design in split plots; the plots had 5 levels of salinity in irrigation water (0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 4 5 dS m-1) and the subplots of four collection periods (40, 60, 80 and 100 days after transplanting), with 4 repetitions, totaling 80 experimental units. The seedlings of banana cv. "Prata" was produced by micropropagation and inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal and acclimatization for 40 days. Evaluations were made of leaf gas exchange, shoot dry mass, nutrient content, mycorrhizal root colonization and spore density. Increased levels of salinity caused reduction in dry matter production and photosynthetic rate, which may be associated with osmotic effects of salts in the soil, the increase in sodium and reduced the levels of N in leaves. Salinity reduced root mycorrhizal colonization, but did not influence the density of AMF spores under the conditions of this study.

RESUMO A Embaúba (Cecropia pachystachya Trécul) é uma espécie de comportamento pioneiro, rústica e de crescimento rápido, ideal para cultivo em solos de baixa fertilidade, o que justifica sua dependência em relação aos fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA). A simbiose dessa planta com os FMA amplia sua eficiência na absorção dos nutrientes da solução do solo, principalmente os de pouca mobilidade como o fósforo, o que possibilita o uso de adubo fosfatado de baixa solubilidade na produção de mudas. Para avaliar essa possibilidade foi conduzido um trabalho em casa de vegetação por 120 dias, no qual foi testado o fosfato de rocha natural em cinco doses de P (0; 75; 150; 300 e 600 mg L-1), sobre a colonização por FMA e o desenvolvimento de mudas de embaúba cultivadas em substrato composto por solo natural (SN), solo natural com 50% (v/v) de solo esterilizado (SND) e solo natural com 25% (v/v) de material orgânico (SNM). Avaliou-se a altura, produção de massa seca da parte aérea, diâmetro do colo, teores de N, P, K, percentagem de colonização micorrízica radicular, número de esporo de FMA no substrato, a respiração basal do solo (RBS), o carbono da biomassa microbiana (CBM) e o quociente metabólico do solo (qCO2). O crescimento, diâmetro do colo e a produção de massa seca da parte aérea da embaúba não foram favorecidos pelos substratos e nem pelas doses de P. Todavia a colonização micorrízica radicular, a esporulação, RBS, CBM e qCO2 foram influenciadas pelas adubações fosfatada e orgânica adicionadas ao solo.

A degradação do solo resultante de práticas não conservacionistas pode acarretar prejuízos irreparáveis às propriedades químicas e biológicas do sistema edáfico de regiões Semiáridas do Nordeste brasileiro. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar os atributos químicos do solo, estimando a densidade populacional de rizóbios nativos e isolando estirpes eficientes na fixação simbiótica do N2 no feijão-caupi em áreas de exclusão e de superpastejo. O estudo foi realizado na Fazenda Formigueiro, pertencente ao município de Irauçuba Ceará. As coletas do solo foram realizadas em duas áreas caracterizadas por diferentes níveis de degradação, sendo: área de exclusão e área de superpastejo. O delineamento experimental adotado foi inteiramente casualizado com oito tratamentos e quatro repetições, sendo um controle com adição de nitrogênio mineral C (+N-R); e um com omissão de nitrogênio mineral e ausência de inoculação C (-N-R), totalizando 32 unidades experimentais. O uso intensivo do solo e o histórico de manejo das áreas estudadas contribuíram de forma negativa para as propriedades químicas e densidade de células rizobianas. O estudo da eficiência fixadora de N2 das estirpes nativas nas áreas de exclusão e superpastejo evidenciaram a ocorrência de estirpes com eficiência variável, apresentando uma eficácia simbiótica em torno de 22 a 41% para a cultura do feijão-caupi.

ABSTRACT: Our objective was to evaluate the morphological pattern of colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) as well as to study the microbiological activity of the soil on family farms where Barbados cherry was cultivated. Soil and root samples were selected from four areas in the municipality of Maranguape-CE where Barbados cherry was grown, which were named according to the age of plants in the following manner: A1-3, A2-3, and A3-3 (3 years), and A4-2 (2 years). After sampling, the arbuscular mycorrhizal colonization, morphological colonization pattern, basal soil respiration (SBR), and density of mycorrhizal spores (DS) were analyzed. The Paris-type morphological pattern was predominant in the root system of Barbados cherry; the affinity of this pattern in the culture was clear. Time of installation and management of Barbados cherry orchards in family farming areas promoted reduction in SBR. P levels in the soil may have negatively influenced root colonization and density of mycorrhizal spores.

O manganês (Mn) é considerado um micronutriente essencial às plantas, porém o seu excesso pode resultar em toxidez, causando clorose e necrose nas folhas. O uso de leguminosas inoculadas com fungos micorrízicos arbusculares tem se tornado uma importante estratégia do ponto de vista da remediação de áreas contaminadas com metais como é o caso do manganês. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o crescimento de mudas de Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth. inoculadas com micorrizas arbusculares sob condições de substrato esterilizado e natural proveniente de uma área de mineração de Mn do município de Ocara – CE. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, utilizando-se o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 4x2, considerando-se: quatro tratamentos de inoculação (controle não-inoculado, inoculado com Glomus clarum, inoculado com Glomus etunicatum e com a mistura dos dois fungos (Mix)) e duas condições de substrato (estéril e natural), com quatro repetições. As mudas de sabiá foram produzidas em bandeja de isopor, sendo transplantadas e inoculadas em vasos após treze dias da semeadura. Após trinta dias do transplantio foram realizadas avaliações de altura da parte áerea, diâmetro do colo, número de folíolos e porcentagem de sobrevivência. A inoculação com fungos micorrízicos arbusculares favoreceu o crescimento das mudas de sabiá em substrato da mineração de manganês, em condições naturais, principalmente quando se utilizou o Glomus etunicatum. No substrato esterilizado a inoculação com micorrizas arbusculares proporcionou a atenuação da toxidez de Mn nas mudas de sabiá favorecendo o crescimento das mesmas nestas condições. The use of leguminous plants inoculated with mycorrhizal fungi have become an important point of view of the remediation strategy contaminated with metals such as manganese. In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the growth of Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia Benth. seedlings inoculated with mycorrhiza under conditions of sterile and natural substrate from a Mn mining area of the municipality of Ocara - CE. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using a completely randomized design in a 4x2 factorial scheme considering four inoculation treatments (non-inoculated control, inoculated with Glomus clarum, inoculated with Glomus etunicatum and with the mixture of two fungi (Mix)) and two substrate conditions (sterile and natural), with four replications. The seedlings of sabiá were produced in styrofoam tray, being transplanted and inoculated in pots after thirteen days of sowing. After thirty days of transplanting been evaluated shoot height, stem diameter, number of leaflets and percentage of survival. Inoculation with mycorrhizal fungi favored the growth of sabiá seedlings in manganese mining substrate, in natural conditions, especially when using the Glomus etunicatum. In the substrate sterilized inoculation with mycorrhiza provided attenuation of Mn toxicity in sabiá seedlings favoring their growth under these conditions.

O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da colonização micorrízica arbuscular na tolerância da bananeira, cv. Maçã, ao mal-do-Panamá, sob diferentes fontes de nutrientes. Utilizou-se um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com fatorial 2 x 4 [2 densidades de esporos de FMA nativos (D1 - 3.500 esporos kg-1 solo e D2 - 7.000 esporos kg-1 solo) e 4 diferentes concentrações de fontes de nutrientes - três de solução nutritiva (SN 40%, SN 70% e SN 100%) e uma de biofertilizante 100% (B4)] com três repetições. Após o plantio inoculou-se Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense e posteriormente avaliou-se matéria seca da parte aérea (MSPA), o teor de fósforo foliar (P), a colonização micorrízica, o pH do solo e o índice de severidade da doença (ID). As diferentes fontes de nutrientes influenciaram a matéria seca da parte aérea, o teor de fósforo, a colonização micorrízica e o índice de severidade da doença, porém não influenciaram o pH da solução do solo. O biofertilizante não atendeu à demanda nutricional das plantas, as quais se mostraram pouco desenvolvidas. Porém proporcionou intensa colonização micorrízica e menor índice de severidade da fusariose, o qual aumentou com a adubação mineral.The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the colonization of arbuscular mycorrhiza on the tolerance to Panama disease of the banana plant cv. maçã under different sources of nutrients. A completely randomized design was employed, having a 2 x 4 factorial [2 densities of native FMA spores (D1 - 3,500 spores kg-1 soil and D2 - 7000 spores kg-1 soil) and four different concentrations of nutrient sources - three of a nutrient solution (SN 40%, SN 70% and SN 100%) and a 100% solution of bio-fertiliser (B4)], with three replications. After planting, the seedlings were inoculated with Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense, and later the shoot dry matter, leaf phosphorus content, mycorrhizal colonization, soil pH and disease severity index were evaluated. The different nutrient sources affected the shoot dry matter, the phosphorus content, the mycorrhizal colonization and the disease severity index, but did not affect the pH of the soil-solution. The bio-fertiliser did not meet the nutritional demands of the plants, which remained underdeveloped, however it promoted intense mycorrhizal colonization and lower manifestations of fusarium. The latter increased under mineral fertilization.

In order to determine the effect of organic fertilizer on growth of seedlings of melon inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), an experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions. The experimental design adopted was a completely randomized design with four treatments and four replications. Treatments consisted of melon plants cultivated on sterile and non sterile soil in the presence or absence of organic compost. The melon seeds were germinated in trays containing substrate formed by 70% of Soil + 30% of green coconut powder, and the mycorrhizal inoculation used a mixture of the species Glomus clarum and Glomus intraradices, applied at the time of sowing. The seedlings with the first definitive sheet were transplanted into pots with sterile or non sterile soil, fertilized or not with organic compost. After 30 days from transplanting plants were harvested for determining the weight of fresh and dry shoot, stem diameter, arbuscular mycorrhizal colonization and content of macro and micronutrients. Organic compost addition did not influence arbuscular mycorrhizal activity and also increased shoot dry weight. AMF colonization of roots showed influence on macro (N, P and Ca) and micronutrients (Fe and Mn) shoot content on soil sterile with organic compost.

This paper has evaluated the alterations in the number of spores of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and enzymatic activity in soil under cultivation of banana trees in Chapada of Apodi. The hypothesis was tested that the agricultural use causes environmental alterations that they reduce the presence of population of AMF and the microbial activity. An area was selected under cultivation of banana trees (Farm Frutacor) and its control (natural vegetation). Four soil samples were collected in three depths in which analyses were accomplished, the number of spores of AMF by Gerdemann and Nicholson (1964) and enzymatic activity: acid phosphatase, arylsulphatase and b-glucosidase by Tabatabai, (1994). The number of spores of AMF show values decreasing with the rise in depth in area cultivated. The activity of the arylsulphatase and acid phosphatase were stimulated by the competition of the anions H2PO4- and SO4- for the same ranches of adsorption in the colloids of the soil. For b-glucosidase, there was a larger activity in the cultivated area, influenced by the amount and quality of the vegetable residue. The enzymatic activity evidences a difficulty of establishing correlations between the biochemistry and chemistry of the soil in area where the entrance of nutrients is high.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência da irrigação com água de alta e baixa salinidade sobre variáveis microbiológicas do solo em área submetida à rotação de cultura entre milho (Zea Mays L.) e feijão-de-corda (Vigna unguiculata L.). A área destinada ao experimento foi dividida em duas subáreas, sendo realizados quatro cultivos: dois cultivos irrigados na estação seca e dois de sequeiro na estação chuvosa. O estudo foi conduzido em campo, utilizando-se o delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com cinco repetições. Nos cultivos irrigados foram usadas água com as seguintes condutividades elétricas (CEa): 0,8; 2,2; 3,6 e 5,0 dS m-1. Os cultivos de sequeiro foram realizados nas mesmas parcelas que foram cultivadas na estação seca, as quais permaneceram demarcadas e identificadas. No início e ao final de cada cultivo, foram coletadas amostras em duas subáreas na região radicular das plantas, no terço médio da fileira central de cada parcela. O aumento da salinidade da água de irrigação promoveu aumento do número total de esporos de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares FMA e reduziu a respiração basal do solo, o carbono da biomassa e o coeficiente metabólico microbiano (qCO2), principalmente na área cultivada com feijão-de-corda. O gênero Glomus respondeu por mais de 70% dos esporos totais encontrados, sendo que essa percentagem aumentou nos tratamentos com maior salinidade nos cultivos da estação seca. Os dados não evidenciaram qualquer efeito negativo da salinidade residual sobre as variáveis microbiológicas avaliadas, em função da irrigação com água salina durante os cultivos da estação seca.This work carred out the influence of irrigation with water of high and low salinity on soil microbial variables in area under the crop rotation between maize (Zea Mays L.) and cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.). The area for the experiment was divided into two sub areas being made four crops, two crops irrigated in the dry season and two dry in the rainy season. The study was conducted under field conditions using a randomized block design with five replications. In irrigated crops were used the following water with electrical conductivity (ECw): 0.8; 2.2; 3.6 and 5.0 dS m-1. The rainfed crops were conducted on the same plots that were cultivated during the dry season, which remained demarcated and identified. At the beginning and end of each crop were collected samples in two subareas in the region of root system plant, in the middle third of the central row of each plot. Increasing of salinity in irrigation water led to increase in the total number of spores and reduced soil basal respiration, biomass carbon and microbial metabolic coefficient (qCO2), mainly in the area cultivated with cowpea. The genus Glomus accounted for more than 70% of total spores found, and this percentage increased in treatments with high salinity in dry season crops. The data reveal no residual negative effect of salinity on the microbial variables assessed in function irrigation with saline water during the dry season crops.

This work had for objective to test the coconut dust as one of the components of the substratum recommended in the production of seedlings of green pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) and that the inoculation with arbuscular mychorrizal fungi (AMF) it turns the most efficient plant in the absorption of nutrients, especially the phosphorus. A Yellow Red Argissolo was used, the substrata dust dry coconut and dust green coconut. The plants had been inoculated by AMF (Glomus clarum, Glomus intraradices and margarita Gigaspora). The experiment was lead per 45 days, the plants had been supplied weekly with exempt nutritional solution of P and to the end collected and submitted to the analyses of: dry mass of the aerial part, leaf number, height of the plant, diameter of caule, contend of macronutrient and micronutrient of the aerial part of plant. The delineation was of blocks casualizados with eighteen treatments and four repetitions. The results had demonstrated that10% dust dry coconut the seedlings of green pepper presented better results in mass dries of the aerial part, height, number of leves and diameter of caule.

The outdoor cultivation (ditches) of Agaricus blazei was evaluated in the protected natural area (APA) of the mountainous region of Baturité on three types of casing soils (A, B and C). Casing soil A (horizon A) of the local soil was used (Alfisol). Casing B was obtained with a mixture of 30% of eucalyptus charcoal (1-2 cm of length) and 70% of horizon B of the local soil. Casing C was composed of 25% of vermiculite, 25% of coconut fiber and 50% of coarse sand. Temperature, relative humidity and pluviometric rates weremonitored. The physical-chemical properties of the three casing soils were analyzed. The effect of the casing soil on the number and weight of the mushrooms, productivity, yield and biological efficiency of A. blazei were evaluated. The yield, productivity, biologicalefficiency and number of mushrooms were higher when using soil A. The highest productivity for soil A was attributed mainly to the physical characteristics, which were considered more appropriate for the cultivation, in addition to the high pluviometric ratesand relative humidity. The productivity with soil A (9.62%) is comparable with the average productivity obtained in Brazil, meaning that the cultivation of A. blazei in this APA may have good perspectives for cultivation.Foi avaliada a possibilidade de cultivo em ambiente desprotegido (campo), do cogumelo Agaricus blazei, na área de ProteçãoAmbiental (APA), da região montanhosa de Baturité (CE), com o uso de três tipos de camada de cobertura (A, B e C). A camada de cobertura A foi composta de horizonte A de um solo local (Alfisol). A camada de cobertura B foi obtida pela da mistura de 30% de carvão de eucalipto (fragmentos com 1-2 cm) com 70% de horizonte B do mesmo solo local. Já, a camada C foi composta de 25% de vermiculita, 25% de fibra de coco e 50% de areia de construção. A temperatura, umidade relativa do ar e índice pluviométrico foram monitorados e as propriedades físico-químicas das três camadas de coberturas foram analisadas, bem como os seus efeitos relacionados ao número e massa fresca de cogumelos,eficiência biológica, produtividade e produção de A. blazei. A produtividade, produção, eficência biológica e número de cogumelos foram mais elevadas na camada A, em relação às camadas B e C. Os valores mais elevados obtidos pela camada A foram atribuídos às suascaracterísticas físico-químicas consideradas mais apropridadas ao cultivo, apesar das condições de elevados índices pluviométrico e umidade relativa do ar. A produtividade da camada A (9,62%) demonstrou-se compatível com a média de produtividade obtida noBrasil, tendo boas perspectivas de cultivo deste cogumelo nesta APA.

In agriculture practiced in Brazil, the branch of the horticulture is one of the prominences, in production and in exportation, being melon one of the more produced fruits, especially in Brazil¿s northeast. In this context, the use of a good quality substrate is essential for the development of the plants. In this study it was evaluated the growth of melon seedlings and the role of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF),Glomus clarum, associated to the use of coconut dust, as an alternative substrate, at 100, 80, 60, 40, 20, 10 and 0% concentrations, as a soil mixture (grayish Argissol). The plants were cultivated under greenhouse conditions and, at the end of a 35 days period, were analyzed the diameter of the stem, number of leaves, height of plants, shoot dry weight, microbial biomass carbon content, basal soil respiration, metabolic quotient, colonization with AMF and shoot nutrient content (N, P, K, Ca and Mg). It was observed that 100% and 80% concentration of coconut dust were the more restrictive treatments for plant development. Microbial carbon and mycorrhizal colonization were higher when the substrate was composed by 10 and 20% of coconut dust. The basal soil respiration and the metabolic quotient (2,07) were higher when 100% coconut dust was used, while the smallest value (0, 96) was found in treatment without coconut dust. The use of concentrations higher than 40% of coconut dust decreased AMF activity and growth of the melon plants.

- Brazil is one of the largest producers of banana (Musa sp.), Accounting on average for 10% of the total world production. From this perspective, it is possible to see the need to increase their production, and among the strategies adopted, one can anticipate the acclimatization phase, through the association of banana seedlings mycorrhizal fungi. The biofertilizers commonly refer to the effluent resulting from aerobic or anaerobic fermentation of organic products supplemented with pure or mineral products. They are used in agriculture for various purposes, and its application promotes the improvement of physical and chemical properties and stimulating biological activity.

Foi avaliada a possibilidade de cultivo em ambiente desprotegido (campo), do cogumelo Agaricus blazei, na área de Proteção Ambiental (APA), da região montanhosa de Baturité (CE), com o uso de três tipos de camada de cobertura (A, B e C). A camada de cobertura A foi composta de horizonte A de um solo local (Alfisol). A camada de cobertura B foi obtida pela da mistura de 30% de carvão de eucalipto (fragmentos com 1-2 cm) com 70% de horizonte B do mesmo solo local. Já, a camada C foi composta de 25% de vermiculita, 25% de fibra de coco e 50% de areia de construção. A temperatura, umidade relativa do ar e índice pluviométrico foram monitorados e as propriedades físico-químicas das três camadas de coberturas foram analisadas, bem como os seus efeitos relacionados ao número e massa fresca de cogumelos, eficiência biológica, produtividade e produção de A. blazei. A produtividade, produção, eficência biológica e número de cogumelos foram mais elevadas na camada A, em relação às camadas B e C. Os valores mais elevados obtidos pela camada A foram atribuídos às suas características físico-químicas consideradas mais apropridadas ao cultivo, apesar das condições de elevados índices pluviométrico e umidade relativa do ar. A produtividade da camada A (9,62%) demonstrou-se compatível com a média de produtividade obtida no Brasil, tendo boas perspectivas de cultivo deste cogumelo nesta APA.

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of fruit-crop management (mango, guava and coconut) on the composition and distribution of soil arthropods (mesofauna and macrofauna) during seasonal periods in the Curu Valley region of the State of Ceará, Brazil. The study was carried out during the following periods: rainy/dry (July/August 2013), dry (October/ November 2013), dry/rainy (January/February 2014) and rainy (April/May 2014). Pitfall traps were used to capture the arthropods. After sorting, the Shannon-Wiener diversity index and the Pielou evenness index were calculated. Diversity values were compared in pairs using Student's t-test (α = 0.05) in the SAS v 9.0 software (2002). The similarity of the areas and groups was evaluated by multivariate analysis employing the techniques of principal component (PCA) and factor (FA) analysis in the Statistica® software (2014). The abundance and diversity of soil arthropods in the cultivation of fruit trees vary according to the type of management and to the seasonal period in the region. The Acari, Collembola and Formicidae groups were the most abundant in each area and during the four periods of the study. The area cultivated with coconut shows better soil conditions for maintaining the arthropod community in the soil.
