Objectives: The intensive care unit (ICU) Liberation "ABCDEF" Bundle improves outcomes in critically ill adults. We aimed to identify common barriers to Pediatric ICU Liberation Bundle element implementation, to describe differences in barrier perception by ICU staff role, and to describe changes in reported barriers over time. Study Design: A 91-item survey was developed based on existing literature, iteratively revised, and tested by the PICU Liberation Committee at Seattle Children's Hospital, a tertiary free-standing academic children's hospital. Voluntary surveys were administered electronically to all ICU staff twice over 4-week periods in 2017 and 2020. Survey Respondents: 119 (2017) and 163 (2020) pediatric and cardiac ICU staff, including nurses (n = 142, 50%), respiratory therapists (RTs) (n = 46, 16%), attending and fellow physicians, hospitalists, and advanced practice providers (APPs) (n = 62, 22%), physical, occupational, and speech-language pathology therapists (n = 25, 9%), and pharmacists (n = 7, 2%). Measurements and Main Results: Respondents widely agreed that increased workload (78%-100% across roles), communication (53%-84%), and lack of RT-directed ventilator weaning (68%-88%) are barriers to implementation. Other barriers differed by role. In 2020, nurses reported liability (59%) and personal injury (68%) concerns, patient severity of illness (24%), and family discomfort with ICU liberation practices (41%) more frequently than physicians and APPs (16%, 6%, 8%, and 19%, respectively; P <.01 for all). Between 2017 and 2020, some barriers changed: RTs endorsed discomfort with early mobilization less frequently (50% vs 11%, P =.028) and nurses reported concern for patient harm less frequently (51% vs 24%, P =.004). Conclusions: Implementation efforts aimed at addressing known barriers, including educating staff on the safety of early mobility, considering respiratory therapist-directed ventilator weaning, and standardizing interdisciplinary discussion of Pediatric ICU Liberation Bundle elements, will be needed to overcome barriers and improve ICU Liberation Bundle implementation. Hibiscus sabdariffa calyces present a significant percentage of phenolic compounds with high antioxidant capacity in its composition, and these appear to be associated with the prevention of diseases generated by oxidative stress and cardiovascular problems. These qualities may be increased through genetic improvement; the estimation of genetic parameters is useful in making decisions in an improvement program. Se estudió la variación estacional de la fotosíntesis y parámetros fisiológicos relacionados con ésta en los cultivares de aguacate Colín V-101 y Rincón (ambos de bajo porte) y Hass en el clima Semicálido subhúmedo del Valle de Matatipac, Nayarit. Se midió la fotosíntesis en seis fechas de muestreo y en cada una de ellas fueron evaluadas cinco hojas maduras en cada uno de cinco árboles por cultivar. La primera medición se hizo al fin de verano (21 Sep. 2002), dos lecturas en otoño (20 Oct. y 20 Nov. 2002), dos en invierno (22 Ene. y 23 Feb. 2003) y una al inicio de la primavera (30 Mar. 2003). La dispersión estacional de la tasa de fotosíntesis neta (A) de los tres cultivares de aguacate siguió el mismo patrón de distribución a través de las estaciones del año. La tasa de A al fin de verano fue baja (18.45 mmol CO2 m-2 s-1), se elevó ligeramente (20.22 mmol CO2 m-2 s-1) al inicio de otoño, y alcanzó el promedio máximo en pleno otoño con 30.05 mmol CO2 m-2 s-1 que coincidió con el crecimiento de fruto. A se estabilizó (29.84 mmol CO2 m-2 s-1) durante el invierno y descendió significativamente al inicio de primavera (17.61 mmol CO2 m-2 s-1). La tasa de A resultó afectada por las condiciones climatológicas de cada estación y el estado fenológico de los cultivares de aguacate.

La humedad relativa (HR) y la tempe- ratura son factores importantes en el desarrollo de los hongos entomopatógenos Verticillium lecanii (V2 y V3), Paecilomyces fumosoroseus (P1, P2, P3, PF y PG), P. farinosus (PN) y Beauveria bassiana (Bb1 y Bb17). La actividad biológica de la cepa de las tres especies de hongos fue mayor cuando la humedad relativa estuvo en un rango de 81-92%. Las ninfas fueron más susceptibles que los huevecillos. El tiempo de germinación de las conidias varió entre las cepas de los hongos y entre las temperaturas. A temperaturas menores de 16.3°C las conidias tardaron más tiempo para germinar (más de un día); mientras que en temperatura superiores a 28.5°C el tiempo fue menor (menos de un día). A 15°C, las cepas que lograron formar conidias fueron P1, PF, Bb1, Bb17, V2 y V3, y las que no formaron fueron P2 y P3. En la temperatura de 31.7°C todas las cepas produjeron conidias, excepto PF. La temperatura base de las especies y cepas de los hongos entomopatógenos fue de 10°C como la más baja y de 13°C como la más alta. Las cepas PG, PF, Bb1, P2 y V2 requirieron similar cantidad de Grados-día de desarrollo, para formar conidias en medio artificial y sobre N4 de Trialeurodes vaporariorum, Por otro lado, V3 logró la mayor tasa de desarrollo por día (0.64) y PG la menor (0.30) en la temperatura de 30.4°C.
