We have investigated the effect of dye distribution on the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) intensity measured with a simplified magnetic bead-based immunoassay for two families of silica nanoparticles (NPs) doped with the cationic Ru(bpy)
3 2+ and the zwitterionic Ru(bpy)2 bps complexes (bps = bathophenanthroline disulfonate). The NPs doped with the Ru(bpy)2 bps complex, which can efficiently self-organize in the NP volume favoring ECL generation, resulted in 150–400% signal enhancement compared to the Ru(bpy)3 2+ -doped ones. - Abstract
This folder stores data related to Task 2.1 Carbon-based electrode within Work Package 2 Production Characterization Materials for Improved ECL-based Biosensing, in the NanoimmunoEra Horizon 2020 project. The data includes ECL (Electrochemiluminescence) images and quantitative ECL results about 2.8 micrometer streptavidin-coated magnetic beads functionalized with ammino-derivatized luminol (ABEI) in a 0.1 M sodium carbonate solution. The ABEI is linked to a biotinylated immunoglobulin in a previous functionalization and then attached to the magnetic microbead exploiting the biotin-streptavidin biorecognition. In-situ electrochemical generation of hydrogen peroxide at a boron-doped diamond electrode promoted the chemiluminescence of luminol. The electrochemical production of hydrogen peroxide was achieved in a carbonate solution by an oxidation reaction. At the same time, microbeads labeled with luminol were deposited on the electrode surface. The reported data are useful for a detailed characterization to study the mechanism that brings the luminol emission without its direct oxidation at the electrode surface.

The presented dataset, part of the Horizon Europe project ECLectic, contains data (simulated and experimental) produced in the framework of the ECLectic project, regarding the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of [Ru(bpy)3](2+), [Ir(sppy)3]3-, and the mixing of the two emitters ([Ru(bpy)3](2+) and [Ir(sppy)3]3-). The data are useful to decipher the coreactant mechanism for the electrochemiluminescence signal generation. In addition data are useful to optimize the signal in the case of freely diffusing [Ru(bpy)3](2+) complex and Ir(III) mediators to determine the key properties of effective ECL enhancers.

Background: The inhibition of PCSK9 lowered LDL cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events. However, the effect on patients who have undergone surgical myocardial revascularization has not yet been evaluated. Methods: From January 2017 to December 2022, 180 dyslipidemic patients who underwent coronary artery bypass were included in the study. Until December 2019, 100 patients optimized therapy with statin ± ezetimibe (SG). Since January 2020, 80 matched patients added treatment with Evolocumab every 2 weeks (EG). All 180 patients were followed-up at 3 and 12 months, comparing outcomes. Results: The two groups are homogenous. At 3 months and 1 year, a significant decrease in the parameter mean levels of LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol is detected in the Evolocumab group compared to the standard group. No mortality was detected in either group. No complications or drug discontinuation were recorded. In the SG group, five patients (5%) suffered a myocardial infarction during the 1-year follow-up. In the EG group, two patients (2.5%) underwent PTCA due to myocardial infarction. There is no significant difference in overall survival according to the new treatment (p-value = 0.9), and the hazard ratio is equal to 0.94 (95% C.I.: [0.16–5.43]; p-value = 0.9397). Conclusions: The use of Evolocumab, which was started immediately after coronary artery bypass graft surgery, significantly reduced LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol levels compared to statin treatment alone and is completely safe. However, at one year of follow-up, this result did not have impact on the reduction in major clinical events. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Evidence for the decays $B^{0}\rightarrow\bar{D}^{0}\phi$ and $B^{0} \rightarrow \bar{D}^{*0}\phi$ is reported with a significance of 3.6$\,\sigma$ and 4.3$\,\sigma$, respectively. The analysis employs $pp$ collision data at centre-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}=7$, 8 and 13 TeV collected by the LHCb detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 $\rm{fb}^{-1}$. The branching fractions are measured to be $\mathcal{B}(B^{0}\rightarrow\bar{D}^{0}\phi) = (7.7\pm2.1\pm0.7\pm0.7)\times10^{-7}$, $\mathcal{B}(B^{0} \rightarrow \bar{D}^{*0}\phi)=(2.2\pm0.5\pm0.2\pm0.2)\times10^{-6}$. In these results, the first uncertainties are statistical, the second systematic, and the third is related to the branching fraction of the $B^{0}\rightarrow\bar{D}^{0}K^{+}K^{-}$ decay, used for normalisation. By combining the branching fractions of the decays $B^{0}\rightarrow\bar{D}^{(*)0}\phi$ and $B^{0}\rightarrow\bar{D}^{(*)0}\omega$, the $\omega$-$\phi$ mixing angle $\delta$ is constrained to be $\tan^2\delta = (3.6\pm0.7\pm0.4)\times10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. An updated measurement of the branching fractions of the $B^{0}_{s} \rightarrow \bar{D}^{(*)0}\phi$ decays, which can be used to determine the CKM angle $\gamma$, leads to $\mathcal{B}(B^{0}_{s}\rightarrow\bar{D}^{0}\phi)=(2.30\pm0.10 \pm 0.11\pm0.20)\times10^{-5}$, $\mathcal{B}(B^{0}_{s}\rightarrow\bar{D}^{*0}\phi) =(3.17\pm0.16 \pm 0.17 \pm 0.27)\times10^{-5}$., Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and additional information, are available at https://cern.ch/lhcbproject/Publications/p/LHCb-PAPER-2023-003.html (LHCb public pages)

This DMP is a document that provides details on all the research data collected and generated within the MSCA Staff Exchanges 2021 (HORIZON-MSCA-2021-SE-01) project "Nano-ImmunoEra". In particular, it explains the way research data are handled, organized, licensed and made available to the public, and how they will be preserved after the project is completed. The DMP also provides motivations when versions or parts of the project research data cannot be openly shared. This DMP reflects the current state of the art of the Nano-ImmunoEra project. However, the details and the final number of datasets may vary during the research project. The variations will be recorded in updated versions of this DMP.

The presented dataset contains data and images produced in the framework of the ECLipse project, regarding the physicochemical, photophysical and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) properties of magnetic microbeads coupled to silica nanoparticles (DDSNPs) doped with [Ru(bpy)3](2+) or [Ru(bpy)2(BPS)] of three different sizes (large, medium, small) as ECL emitters (bpy: 2,2'-bipyridine, BPS:bathophenanthroline disulfonate). The aim of the study was the investigation of doped nanoparticles' ECL properties as a function of nanoparticle's size and nature of the doping dye.

The presented dataset contains data and images produced in the framework of the ECLipse project, regarding the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of magnetic microbeads covalently functionalized with [Ru(bpy)3](2+) (Ru@Beads), in presence of Ir(III)-based redox mediators exhibiting a variety of photophysical and electrochemical properties. The Ir(III) mediators employed are: [Ir(bt)2(pt-TEG)]+, [Ir(dfppy)2(pt-TEG)]+ and [Ir(sppy)3](3-). Also, data related to [Fe(bpy)3](2+) redox mediator are included. The data are useful to decipher the interaction mechanism between the freely diffusing Ir(III) mediators with the anchored [Ru(bpy)3](2+) labels and determine the key properties of effective ECL enhancers.

49. Multi-functional electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction reaction: towards the modulation of selectivity

- Abstract
The electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 (CO2RR) is a captivating strategy for the conversion of CO2 into fuels, to realize a carbon neutral circular economy. In the recent years, research has focused on the development of new materials and technology capable of capturing and converting CO2 into useful products. The main problem of CO2RR is given by its poor selectivity, which can lead to the formation of numerous reaction products, to the detriment of efficiencies. For this reason, the design of new electrocatalysts that selectively and efficiently reduce CO2 is a fundamental step for the future exploitation of this technology. Here we present a new class of electrocatalysts, designed with a modular approach, namely, deriving from the combination of different building blocks in a single nanostructure. With this approach it is possible to obtain materials with an innovative design and new functionalities, where the interconnections between the various components are essential to obtain a highly selective and efficient reduction of CO2, thus opening up new possibilities in the design of optimized electrocatalytic materials. By combining the unique physic-chemical properties of carbon nanostructures (CNS) with nanocrystalline metal oxides (MO), we were able to modulate the selectivity of CO2RR, with the production of formic acid and syngas at low overpotentials. The CNS have not only the task of stabilizing the MO nanoparticles, but the creation of an optimal interface between two nanostructures is able to improve the catalytic activity of the active phase of the material. While the presence of oxygen atoms in the MO creates defects that accelerate the reaction kinetics and stabilize certain reaction intermediates, selecting the reaction pathway. Finally, a part was dedicated to the study of the experimental parameters influencing the CO2RR, with the aim of improving the experimental setup in order to obtain commercial catalytic performances.

A study of prompt $\Xi_{c}^{+}$ production in proton-lead collisions is performed with the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 8.16 TeV in 2016 in $p$Pb and Pb$p$ collisions with an estimated integrated luminosity of approximately 12.5 and 17.4 nb$^{-1}$, respectively. The $\Xi_{c}^{+}$ production cross-section, as well as the $\Xi_{c}^{+}$ to $\Lambda_{c}^{+}$ production cross-section ratio, are measured as a function of the transverse momentum and rapidity and compared to latest theory predictions. The forward-backward asymmetry is also measured as a function of the $\Xi_{c}^{+}$ transverse momentum.
