Quality of life and value orientation represent highly relevant topics and are fundamental aspects of individual and societal well-being. This importance is underscored by today's highly dynamic, unpredictable world, characterized by a constant influx of often shocking information. Adolescence, in particular, stands out as the most dynamic and formative stage of life, during which a person's value system develops and foundational aspects of quality of life are established. This research evaluates the relationships between various dimensions of quality of life and value orientations among high school youth in the Czech Republic, Moravian-Silesian Region, Ostrava. Results from standardized quality of life questionnaires (SQUALA) and value orientation assessments (HO-PO-MO), as well as subsequent statistical analyses, reveal strong associations between specific quality of life dimensions and value orientations. Notably, economic values and the health dimension of quality of life show direct effects on students' overall satisfaction within these life aspects. This article maps the trajectory of China's regulation of algorithms via policy review. It divides China's governing progress into three phases: the 'post-event policy response and penalty' phase, the 'ethics guidelines, guiding opinions and self-discipline pacts' phase and the 'legislation and implementation' phase. The paper argues that the ideological and political implications of algorithmic applications are the highest concern for Chinese regulators. China's regulation of algorithms follows a 'state-centric multilateral model' – the same model used for its internet governance. The 'algorithmic transparency' advocated by regulators is currently only limited to algorithms in the platform economy and industries rather than those used for government decision-making and public administration. As the first nation to issue laws regulating algorithms and generative AI, China faces problems and challenges emerging from further implementing the laws. Implementing the innovation-driven development strategy is not only an important measure to modernize the national governance system and governance capacity, but also a vital component of the Chinese path to modernization. The significance of highquality development of technology-focused think tanks, characterized by their knowledge and technology intensity, is increasingly evident. China's science and technology think tanks have always adhered to the value concept of the Party's leadership and the principle of putting the people first. They have developed a diversified and comprehensive integration model for think tanks. They offer a range of interdisciplinary products and boast specialized, composite scientific and technological talents. However, they also face a series of significant challenges, including the need to improve the support for innovative talents, address the insufficiency of scientific and technological output and its low conversion rate, strengthen institutional and mechanism reforms and innovations, and increase the intensity of research funding. To further promote the high-quality development of science and technology think tanks, the construction of new-era think tanks should adhere to the following seven key value orientations: optimize the top-level design and strategic layout of China's science and technology think tanks to comprehensively enhance the breadth and depth of their participation in decision-making and consulting; continuously refine the research methods and models of innovative technology think tanks to enhance their technological vitality; vigorously develop and strengthen the talent strategy of science and technology think tanks, continuously consolidating the foundation of scientific research; establish a fair and authoritative evaluation system for technology think tanks, and continuously improve the information resource sharing system and mechanism; promote the digital transformation and development of technology think tank management, and continuously refine the operational mechanisms; improve the diversified funding investment mechanism to enhance the conversion rate of scientific and technological achievements from think tanks; strengthen international exchanges and cooperation among technology think tanks to continuously enhance their global influence. Introduction:A value system encompasses the social priorities that shape individuals' goals, actions, and lifestyles. It determines how people behave in society, what objectives they pursue, and how they regulate their interactions. A cohesive and integrated value system within a society sets the stage for individual and social development. However, Iranian society has undergone rapid changes across all domains, including modernization, emergence of new communication and information technologies, growth of national and global mass media, forces of globalization, and other factors that have led to cultural and value transformations. Different groups and institutions have responded to these changes in their own distinct ways. Similar to global trends, young people in Iran are questioning established and traditional identities and values. They are actively seeking new values and striving to shape their own independent, engaged, and individualized identities. Values lie at the heart of their narratives and experiences, influencing their understanding and interpretation of the world. To comprehend this value orientation, interpretative approaches are necessary as they provide a deeper exploration of the underlying layers of meaning. Qualitative methods are better suited for such an understanding, enabling researchers to delve into the profound aspects of value orientation. In this study, we adopted an emic-interpretative approach to explore the value orientation of young people in the city of Yazd. Our aim was to understand the dominant values in their lives, explore the sources and contexts of their value orientation, and gain insights into how they define and pursue their values. By engaging with the experiences of young individuals, we sought to uncover the intricacies of their value systems and the strategies they employ in navigating their lives. Materials & Methods: To comprehend the dimensions and constituent elements of the value system and explore the contexts, formation conditions, and consequences of youth's value orientation, we employed the systematic grounded theory approach (Corbin & Strauss, 2015). This method offers a systematic framework for categorizing findings and enables the extraction of innovative concepts and theories from the data.The research was conducted in the city of Yazd and our participants consisted of 49 individuals aged 18-34 years, who resided in the city. Selection of the participants followed a theoretical and purposeful sampling approach. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, which were guided by specific yet open-ended questions. Participants had the freedom to provide comprehensive responses to these questions. The interviews commenced with inquiries, such as their primary aspirations in life and their most significant wishes and priorities. Throughout the conversations, additional questions were developed in accordance with the research objectives. Each interview lasted between 70 and 90 minutes.The collected interviews were transcribed into a text format and initial edits were made to the interview texts during the open-coding process. Concurrently, new questions emerged, leading to subsequent interviews conducted alongside the coding process. In the axial coding phase, primary codes were refined and subcategories were developed by combining relevant codes. Through selective coding, we synthesized the related subcategories, resulting in the identification of 10 main categories. Through analysis and investigation, a paradigm model was constructed and subsequently, the core category was established. Discussion of Results & Conclusion:Through the analysis of the interviews, we constructed a comprehensive framework consisting of concepts, subcategories, main categories, and a core category. Over 700 concepts were derived from the participants' responses. By examining and consolidating similar concepts, we identified 69 subcategories. These subcategories were further classified, resulting in the identification of 10 main categories. These main categories included modern thinking, self-centeredness, materialism, virtual life, multi-faceted pressures, instrumental interactions, sense of anomie, poverty of perspective, and migrant mindset.The core category that emerged from the analysis was materialistic activism. The participating young individuals positioned themselves at the center of life, believing that they had the freedom to live according to their desires and shaped their actions accordingly. Their goals primarily revolved around personal aspirations. With access to various sources of information and the influence of virtual life experiences, they had broken free from the confines of traditional and social norms, forming their own opinions and values. While seeking liberation from the constraints of the past and predetermined traditions, they had embraced materialism and developed a thirst for consumption. Material resources played a central role in shaping their opinions and values and their actions revolved around materialistic pursuits. This process of opinion and value formation transcended local boundaries and adopted a global perspective. They perceived themselves as influential agents, actively determining their opinions and values with an emphasis on materialism and pursuit of wealth in all aspects of life. Their inclination was to achieve maximum well-being through increased consumption of luxury goods.The value orientation of the young participants in this study could be summarized into 4 main components: universalism, self-centeredness, materialism, and agency-seeking. These components ultimately manifested as materialistic activism. Universalism encompasses accepting differences in interactions, thinking beyond borders, and adopting a cosmopolitan outlook. It includes tolerance in everyday interactions and a global perspective in the broader context. In the dichotomy between universalism and particularism, young individuals tend to lean more towards universalism, embracing a cosmopolitan mindset.Self-centeredness refers to the prioritization of oneself, placing personal needs and characteristics at the center of social actions. In a world where trust in others is limited, young people focus on themselves, their needs, resources, and capabilities. In this interpretation, individuals are largely self-reliant.Agency represents the belief in their capacity to effect change in personal and social life. It opposes passivity and encompasses the essence of subjectivity. Individuals in such circumstances perceive themselves as capable of initiating change, feeling the need for it and having the conviction that they can shape the world according to their desires.Materialism entails the prioritization of needs, goals, and material resources. It underscores the significance of material possessions and wealth in shaping their value system and decision-making processes.The emphasis of young people on materialistic and individualistic values is a defining characteristic of modern society, which is recognized as a cognitive concept in contemporary sociological literature. This orientation seems to be shaped by two significant forces: local factors, such as economic crises, and global factors, such as the flow of information on a global scale. Today's youth live within a context heavily influenced by global information and communication technologies, which in turn impact their values. Reflexivity, as described by Giddens, is a defining feature of modernity. It entails the constant evaluation and modification of social functions in light of new information. Under the influence of media and new information technologies, we witness an accelerated reflexivity, expanding our social perspectives (Eliot, 2022: 157). As young people increasingly engage with media and virtual social networks, their desire for material values intensifies. Researchers, such as Benchman and Lemberg (2013) and Nik Maleki and Majidi (2013), have highlighted the role of media as the most significant factor in shaping the values of young individuals. Inglehart argues that communication technologies can lead to the growth of meta-materialist values (Inglehart, 2015; Inglehart and Abramson, 1999). The value and action systems of Iranian youth are shaped and evolving amidst global influences and local pressures. For many young people, the ability to express their true selves and create and present themselves as desired holds great importance. This reflects a desire for self-expression and alignment of actions with individual identity. Touraine (2022) refers to this sentiment in contemporary individuals as historicity. According to Thorne, we are transitioning from a world-centric view to a human-centric view of social life. In a society that embraces high levels of historicity, individuals are defined based on their actions and agency relationships. In such a society, morality is not solely based on obedience to authority or subjugation of interests and emotions. Instead, it is rooted in the desire for self-expression, recognition of others as individuals, acceptance of differences, and pursuit of individualization.

Climate change demands urgent attention from both teachers and students. As pivotal agents of change, preservice teachers play a crucial role in shaping a generation that values and conserves the environment. This study investigated how academic background (mathematics/science vs. non-mathematics/science) influences preservice teachers' attitudes toward climate change and their value orientations. The study included 287 mathematics/science and 182 non-mathematics/science preservice teachers who completed a 50-item questionnaire. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze the gathered data. The findings indicated that academic background did not significantly influence preservice teachers' value orientations or attitudes toward climate change. This suggests the presence of other influential factors not examined in this study. Given these results, adopting a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to environmental education is imperative. Such an approach can better equip preservice teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively engage students in understanding and addressing climate change. Further research should focus on identifying these additional influencing factors. This will enable educators to refine environmental education strategies, fostering a future generation that values and actively contributes to environmental stewardship.

In the era of big data and network informationization, the way for college students to obtain information has undergone great changes. Smart push sends tens of thousands of Internet hot events and various network public opinions to college students every day, which unconsciously affects their value orientation. According to the questionnaire surveys, our works find that current college students have a high degree of attention to Internet hot events, but their understanding is relatively shallow and can be greatly affected. In response to this situation, it is suggested that the Internet hot issues can be used in implicit ideological and political education in universities via three aspects: strengthening team building to enhance the digital literacy of educators, describing the portrait of education objects to find the fit points of education as well as building an education network around the three classrooms. It is hoped that the implicit ideological and political education function of Internet hot events can be accurately utilized in combination with the cognitive characteristics of college students in the era of big data, and thus guiding the rational value orientation of college students. The increasing global demand for electric vehicles is evidence of the general recognition among the public regarding issues tied to climate change, carbon emissions, and air pollution. China has experienced a rapid expansion in its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market over recent years, establishing itself as the largest such market globally. This research endeavors to comprehend how consumers' value systems contribute to their intent to purchase NEVs. The proposed model was assessed using the data collected from a Chinese sample. Employing a multi-faceted approach, this study uncovers the diverse ways in which consumers with varying value orientations evaluate NEVs and formulate intentions to support governmental initiatives. Furthermore, the study examines the interplay between consumers' value assessments, their inclination to endorse governmental efforts, and their intentions to purchase NEVs. The study's findings underscore the role of consumers' value orientation in shaping their perceptions of NEVs. Additionally, it reveals that consumers who align with an environmentally conscious government are more inclined to buy NEVs. • Based on Value-Belief-Norm and Value orientation theory, a new framework of NEVs behavior decision is constructed. • Perceived hedonic and utilitarian values are critical for increasing to buy NEVs. • Value perception and intention to support the government are found to influence the consumer's NEV purchase decision. The construe.tion of apprenticeship-seminar-internship courses ( ASI courses) is a challenge and breakthrough in the development of physical education major under the accreditation of teacher education. By using literature and logical analysis, discussions were conducted on the. value orientation, principle adherence, and system construction of ASI courses for physical education majors. The study believes that the value orientation of ASI educational practice courses construction in physical education majors includes three aRperts: practical reflection, situational le.arning and identity reinforcement. The principles to be followed in the construction of ASI courses include the principles of appropriateness, diversity, interweaving, and integration. Based on this, the study tentatively proposes systematically constructing the currictilum system of ASI courses in physic.al education majors from four aspects: supporting graduation requirements to establish the objectives of ASI courses; aligning the course objectives to design the content of ASI courses; forming collaborative efforts to ensure the quality of ASI courses and strengthening process feedback to formulate the evaluation methods of ASI courses. Abstract Background Natural health products (NHP) are an important part of the healthcare system. They are mainly non-prescription and sold over the counter, which requires active decision making by the consumer. Within the framework of the Complementary and Alternative Healthcare Model, this study aims to identify factors that influence NHP usage, in particular related to concentration and cognition (CC), a topic that concerns all ages and social classes within the population. Methods Data were collected by means of a representative online survey (n = 1,707) in Germany in April 2022. Three user groups were defined: NHPCC users, who used NHP for CC (12 month prevalence); nCC-NHP users, who used NHP but not for CC indications (12 month prevalence); and past NHP users, who have used NHP but not within the previous 12 months. Independent influencing variables were categorized into predisposing, enabling, need, and health service use factors. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and binary logistic regression models to compare NHPCC users to nCC-NHP users (model 1) and to past NHP users (model 2). Results A higher share of NHPCC and nCC-NHP users compared to past NHP users were women, self-medicated with NHP, and used information about NHP provided by health professionals or on product. Their openness-to-change value orientation was more pronounced than of past users. Compared to nCC-NHP and past NHP users, the probability of being an NHPCC user increased if an individual had more difficulties in daily attention and memory performance, made use of health professionals and literature to seek information about NHP, and used NHP for health support and illness prevention. Additionally, a female gender, NHP self-medication, and having higher values of self-transcendence were significant indicators for NHPCC usage compared to past NHP usage. Conclusion NHP manufacturers, health professionals, and policymakers should be aware of the factors that lead to NHP consumption decisions and consider them in the development and optimization of healthcare strategies as well as in the marketing and communication strategies of companies producing NHP, in particular for CC. The current study can contribute to characterizing the target groups and to defining the aims and communication channels of such campaigns.

Street-level Bureaucrats are bureaucrats who are at the forefront of implementing programs or policies. Their duties and functions are diverse, and based on their duties, they are expected to improve the welfare of community by implementing policies and assisting the public in services. They play an important role in policy implementation and have a strong influence on policy outcomes. This study aims to determine the value orientation of street-level bureaucrats and their attitudes toward beneficiaries in the implementation of the Non-cash Food Assistance Program. The research method uses a Mix Methods research design with a dominant scheme in a qualitative approach. The research focus areas are: (a) value orientation of street-level bureaucrats and (b) attitude of street-level bureaucrats toward beneficiaries. The total population of the study was 1916 and after calculations using a certain formula, a research sample of 95 individuals was obtained. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the value orientation of street-level bureaucrats stands out for social or cooperative orientation, while their attitude toward beneficiaries is positive so that in carrying out their duties they do not do much discretionary action. The research recommendation is that officers must always update beneficiary data and carry out external supervision in distributing aid. In addition to using mixed methods, it is also expected to conduct research using a quantitative approach to understand the effect of value orientation and attitudes on the effectiveness of program implementation. In the presented article, the author examines the issues of personnel motivation management. Currently, no one doubts that the most important resource of any company is its employees, in this regard, the relevance of the topic of the scientific article is due to the extremely important role of motivating the workforce needed by the enterprise, since the success of any organization in modern conditions depends on its ability to maximize the use of available resources. Every company that is serious about personnel management issues tries to develop its own motivation management system for its employees.

As inherent in man, the evaluation process begins at the moment of our birth and accompanies us throughout our lives. The student's value system is formed during socialisation under the influence of various factors. Family, education, and school have a fundamental role in shaping, preserving, and changing values. It is necessary to know the learner's pre-existing values, what they represent in their behaviour, actions, and words. The student's value system is reflected in their perception and way of life; it determines their relationship with the world, reflecting in their behavioural norms, activities, moral rules they follow, Etc. In the following, I undertake a short presentation of the research on Hungarian young people in Romania with the aim of preparing a kind of chronological, a thematic overview of the implemented research. This study investigated the association between prolonged grief (PG) severity and meaning-making narration in a cross-cultural context, and specifically aimed to illustrate the role of value orientation in shaping the grieving process. 30 Chinese and 22 Swiss parents who lost their child were asked to narrate and appraise specific memories to reflect their self-evaluation of traditional and modern values. The self-reported Prolonged Grief Disorder Scale (ref ICD-11) assessed PG severity. Compared with the Swiss sample, the Chinese sample provided more elaborated memories, which was not associated with symptom severity. Both Chinese and Swiss bereaved parents with more severe PG provided more narratives of loss-related memories, particularly in response to modern values. They also provided more appraisals of negative meanings for self-defining memories, particularly in relation to their traditional values. These findings indicate that, despite cultural differences in narration tendency, PG severity in bereaved parents was associated with the maladaptive integration of autobiographical memories across different cultures, in relation to value orientations. A clinical implication is the potential value of facilitating narrations of grieving clients that center on value orientations to mitigate the hardship of the personal loss. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main purpose of the study was to find out if cultural value orientation have any influence on selfefficacy with reference to social self-efficacy, academic self-efficacy, language self-efficacy and moral self-efficacy. Literature review was done according to the variables under study. The ex-post facto design was adopted for the study. A sample of 1,586 students was randomly selected from the public secondary schools in Cross River State for the study. A questionnaire titled "Cultural Value Orientation and Self-Efficacy (CVOSEQ) was the instrument used for data collection. The face validity of the instrument was determined by three other research experts educational psychology and measurement and evaluation from the department of Educational Foundations, University of Calabar while the reliability of the instrument was determined using Cronbach Alpha reliability method. The data collected were analyzed using One-way Analysis of Variance tested at .05 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that cultural value orientation has a significant influence on social self-efficacy, academic self-efficacy, language self-efficacy, moral self-efficacy and overall self-efficacy. Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended among others that parents should educate the children about their cultural heritage. They should be encouraged to communicate in their local language, dress in their cultural outfits and take part in cultural activities. This empirical study on employee perspectives of latent leader value orientations (LVOs), employee psychological job states, and work intentions deployed an online survey to 944 employees within global organizations. Empirical analysis using structural equation modeling confirmed that employee job state positive affect fully mediated relations between LVOs and employee work intentions more so than employee job state negative affect and cognitive-based and affective-based trust in leader. LVO1 (low self-concern and high other-orientation) triggered positive employee psychological job states of greater magnitude than LVO2 (high self-concern and high other-orientation). This finding offers new insight relating to the influence of high leader other-orientation on employee psychological experiences of work considering LVO2 had been reported as ideal. LVO3 (high self-concern and low other-orientation) had the strongest differential associations with employee psychological job states implying that leaders who are perceived by employees to be driven by high self-concern, even in the presence of low other-orientation, evoke strong negative employee psychological responses. Background: Professional values are the basis to professional nursing practices. Professional values can be challenged by the variety of situation due to increasing globalization, diversity and health variance and can generate ethical dilemmas in health care delivery. Nursing students must be familiar to the professional value of the profession in which they are enrolled to imply the effective care to the patients. Material and Methods: A descriptive cross sectional study design was done to assess the Professional values among undergraduate Nursing students in Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital. A total of 119 nursing students were included in the study using total enumerative sampling techniques. Nurses Professional Values Scale (NPVS-3) was used to assess professional values among the Nursing Students. The data were analysed using SPSS version 23. For descriptive statistics frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation was calculated and for inferential statistics Pearson’s correlation test was used. Results: The total mean score of professional values from the nursing student’s outlook was high (115.24 ± 13.50) and also it reveals that 51.3% of the nursing students were conscious of professional values about nursing profession. The mean score was high (42.34 ±5.11) on caring sub-dimension than Activism and Professionalism. There was statistically significant relationship between the total score of professional values with Age. Conclusion: Findings of the study showed that the overall nursing professional value was high and the mean score was high on caring sub-dimension whereas professionalism and activism has been given less importance by the nursing students in comparison with caring domain.

Modern life overloaded with information and events leads to a regular ranking of events in the urban space according to the principle of exceeding information noise. Similarly, cultural and leisure events are also subject to perceived ranking, leading to socio-cultural festivities identification. As a remarkable event in public cultural life, special events take over part of the socially significant functions of traditional events. However, for effective event implementation, it's necessary to understand their specifics, their content and implementation features. The article highlights three approaches to the identification of special events in city socio-cultural event structure. Based on the analysis of specifics of existing approaches to the definition, the types of special events in the urban space are analyzed and the event structure of the city of Ekaterinburg is characterized, including various types of events, as well as types of event subjects. Comparing the data obtained, the specifics of Ekaterinburg events were distinguished based on two factors: the coexistence of various types based on various methods of forming the "extraordinary happening" and various means of working with the audience, as well as significant contribution of initiative associations in thematic events creation. In conclusion, the development potential of urban special events based on these features is revealed. The presence of various levels and subjects of events forms attractive environment for visiting, and contains the potential for further development into a single interconnected system, the elements of which act in concert with each other to achieve socially significant goals. The formation of such a system and the use of the advantages of the audience diversity will allow working with visitors in a more personalized way, in accordance with the peculiarities of motivation and individual perception of the "specialty" of event.

The article is based on the study of the conceptual foundations of delinquency as misdemeanours and offences, while, contrary to the generally accepted approaches, attention is focused on the archetypal approach. The main goal is to analyse the peculiarities of delinquent behaviour at the national economic level within the archetypal approach. Factors influencing the formation of illegal behaviour in the social environment of the national economy are defined and characterized. The behaviour of a delinquent is defined as the antisocial and illegal behaviour of a person whose misdeeds are harmful to individual citizens and society as a whole, as well as the indicated signs of its separation from deviant behaviour. The main criteria and differences distinguishing delinquent behaviour from deviant and key signs of delinquent behaviour are characterized. The reasons that are prerequisites for delinquent behaviour are systematized, and classified into internal and external, as well as three groups of factors of the causes of delinquent behaviour. The archetypes present in every person’s consciousness are considered, and their influence on the formation of an individual’s behaviour in society is determined. Factors contributing to the formation of delinquency in the national economy at the macro and micro levels are identified. The typification of delinquent behaviour was carried out, indicating its types by type and their characteristics. Prevention of delinquent behaviour is the most effective means because preventing such behaviour, especially among children and adolescents, is more reasonable than punishing people who have already committed crimes. Basic measures to prevent delinquent behaviour are proposed. Based on the results of the analysis, it was determined that there are several objective and subjective factors, the interdependence and interaction of which affect human behaviour and generates conditions for delinquent actions; their quantitative and qualitative characteristics increase with the increase of social contradictions in the national economy, since any process in one way or another affects a certain aspect of society’s life, influencing a change in antisocial behaviour to one degree or another.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic led most of the involved countries to take measures to contain the spread of the virus. Among these, the authorities banned gatherings and tough measures, involving also the use of force, were at times adopted to disperse people breaking this rule. The aim of this research was to investigate to what extent harsh measures are considered acceptable to prevent such gatherings. Specifically, in line with political orientation theory, we hypothesized that people with a low value-based orientation to authority would be more likely to accept such measures when implemented by countries perceived as democratic. This tendency to assume that a democratic state never adopts anti-democratic measures has been defined a democratic delusion paradox. As hypothesized, results on 359 Italian participants showed that respondents with low scores on value orientation were more likely to be affected by this paradox. They were more likely to consider harsh measures as acceptable if implemented by a country they perceived as democratic. Conversely, when the issuing country was judged to be authoritarian, the use of force was more frequently condemned. The implication of this research was to show the importance of monitoring established democracies and maintaining a sense of critical participation on the policies issued by the authorities. We provide support for the political orientation theory arguing that a political orientation based on values can help watching democratic systems from degenerating into autocracy.

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between experiential avoidance, value-oriented life, and depression-anxiety-stress in individuals who identify themselves as homosexual or heterosexual and to reveal the predictive power of value orientation on depression, anxiety, and stress scores in homosexual individuals. A total of 359 people were included in the study, 184 of whom are homosexuals and 175 are heterosexuals. The data were analyzed using Independent Group's t-Test, Pearson product-moment correlation analysis, and Multiple Standard Regression analysis. The results of the study show that the progression and obstruction sub-dimensions of the VQ significantly predict depression by 46% (r = .679; p <.001), anxiety by 19% (r = .437; p<.001), and stress by 33% (r = .571; p<.001) in individuals with homosexual behavior tendency. Moreover, the Independent Groups t-Test revealed that the mean scores of the homosexual group were higher in all three scores of depression (p <.01), anxiety (p <.01) and stress (p <.05). The homosexual group scored significantly higher in the "obstruction" sub-dimension of the VQ and in the "suppression/denial" and "distress aversion" sub-dimensions of the MEAQ-30. Different studies have examined the relationship between dark and light personality dimensions and life satisfaction. Using the structural equation method, this correlational descriptive study aimed to determine the relationship between dark and light dimensions of personality with life satisfaction as mediated by value orientations. To this end, 400 people who referred to health centers in Tabriz, Iran were selected through convenience sampling method. To collect data, Life Satisfaction Questionnaire, Dark Triad Personality Questionnaire, Light Triad Personality Questionnaire, and the Value System Questionnaire were used. Then the data were analyzed using the structural equation method. While the dark dimensions had a negative effect on life satisfaction, the light dimensions had a positive effect. There was a negative relationship between dark dimensions and life satisfaction as mediated by value orientations. Meanwhile, there was a positive relationship between light dimensions and life satisfaction as mediated by value orientations. Therefore, the dark and light dimensions of personality and the way of value orientation are related to the level of life satisfaction. Accordingly, researchers can examine the effectiveness of these variables on life satisfaction through developing psychotherapy interventions influencing the variables of dark and light dimensions of personality and value orientation. Introduction*Various personality variables affect the level of life satisfaction. The dark dimensions, including antisocial, narcissism, and Machiavellianism, have a direct role in people's attitudes towards life (Paulhus ­­­&Williams, 2002). Various studies have shown the negative relationship between dark personality traits and life satisfaction (Marashi et al., 2017; Sharifinia & Harun Rashidi, 2020). The light dimensions, including three dimensions of humanity, faith in humanity, and Kantianism (Kaufman et al., 2019) along with the way of value orientation have a positive relationship with life satisfaction (Sadeghi et al., 2018). While people with light personality traits use developed defense mechanisms (Wood et al., 2010) leading to life satisfaction, people with dark personality traits choose anti-moral values ‌‌in life (Oboyle et al., 2012) which result in dissatisfaction with life. Considering the essential role of personality traits and the type of value orientation in the level of life satisfaction, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between the dark and light dimensions of personality with life satisfaction mediated by value orientation. MethodThis descriptive correlational research used structural equation method. Using the available sampling method, a total of 400 individuals referring to the health centers in Tabriz, Iran were selected. The following four questionnaires were completed by participants.Life Satisfaction Questionnaire: This five-item scale was developed by Diener et al. (1985). A higher score indicates more satisfaction with life. Diener et al. obtained the reliability of this scale with Cronbach's alpha method (0.86). In the present study, Cronbach's alpha obtained for this scale was 0.78. Dark Triads Personality Questionnaire: This 12-item scale was designed by Johnson and Webster (2010) and includes three subscales: Machiavellianism, antisociality, and narcissism. Johnson and Webster reported the test-retest reliability coefficient of this questionnaire as 0.89 for the entire scale. In the present study, Cronbach's alphas obtained for Machiavellian, antisocial, and narcissistic subscales were 0.79, 0.69, and 0.73, respectively. Light Triads Personality Questionnaire: This scale was designed by Kaufman et al. (2019) and consists of three subscales: Kantianism, humanity, and faith in humanity. The internal reliability coefficient for this scale was estimated as 0.84 in the original study (Kaufman et al., 2019). In our study, Cronbach's alphas obtained for the variables of Kantianism, humanity, and faith in humanity were 0.69, 0.72, and 0.68, respectively. The Value System Questionnaire: This scale was developed by Schwartz (2006) and consists of 57 questions and ten scales of the value system. The Cronbach's alphas reported by Schwartz for the subscales of benevolence, traditionalism, conformity, security, power, arousal, hedonism, success, spontaneity, and cosmopolitanism were 0.61, 0.37, 0.48, 0.64, 0.50, 0.69, 0.79, 0.52, 0.53, 0.57, respectively. In the present study, the alpha obtained for each of the subscales was estimated to be more than 0.67. ResultsWhile the dark dimensions had a negative effect on life satisfaction, the light dimensions had a positive effect. There was a significant relationship between the dark and light dimensions with life satisfaction as mediated by value orientations. Based on the importance of the teacher's directions to developing pupils' value systems, value orientation, and professional orientation, the connection between future teachers' value orientation and their entrepreneurial orientation, as an important component of entrepreneurial behaviour, is considered in the paper. The scale of lifestyles and the scale of entrepreneurial orientation are applied. The sample consists of 258 university students from three faculties with departments of education of preschool teachers, class/primary school teachers, and subject teachers. The following results were obtained: the students preferred the working lifestyle, the utilitarian lifestyle, the esthetic lifestyle, and the hedonistic lifestyle (these are the lifestyles oriented toward one's wellbeing) more than the others, and they preferred a lifestyle of orientation toward power and respect less than the others. They assessed their entrepreneurial orientation as moderate. Entrepreneurial orientation as a composite measure and some of its separated components - readiness for risk and competitiveness correlated positively with the level of preferring two lifestyles: the lifestyle of orientation toward power and respect and the lifestyle of Prometheus activism; proactivity correlated with Prometheus activism and altruistic lifestyles, that is, with prosocial lifestyles. The main conclusion is that systematic educational interventions for the development of the entrepreneurial orientation of future teachers are necessary. These interventions should be integrated into future teacher pre-service education both directly as programmes of entrepreneurship education and indirectly as activities enhancing lifestyles and value orientation, which are formative for their professional engagement in the educational process.

Over the past decades, altruistic cyber activities of online education volunteers who share useful knowledge with other Internet users have become widespread in the Internet space. Personal and group features of such prosocial behavior, which is strongly influenced by the realization of values, have not been sufficiently studied by psychological science so far. This study continues the psychological analysis of the value-orientation sphere of online educators, focusing on competent education volunteers who deal with the Internet encyclopedia “Wikipedia” (N = 92) and the question-answer (QA) online project “Otvety” (N = 113). The following tools were used in the work: the revised Portrait Value Questionnaire (PVQ-R2R) by Sh. Schwartz adapted by T.P. Butenko, D.S. Sedova and A.S. Lipatova and the Value Orientations Techniques developed by O.I. Motkov and T.A. Ogneva (version 2). The results of the analysis provide sufficient grounds to characterize the members of both groups as indivi- duals who are productively oriented towards informational and pro-social Internet activities that are not identical in format from the perspective of transfinite altruism, for the implementation of which optimal non-hierarchical-parity conditions have been created in their reference online communities, stimulating liberty in the process of individual self-realization. It is shown that, with a high homogeneity of the value profiles of the Wikipedia authors and QA “Otvety” service experts, the internal value-related self-determination (procedural in nature) has a basal meaning for them, since the external one, set in a heteronomous position, only weakly corresponds to their freedom-seeking way of life. It is concluded that the series of theoretical and empirical psychological studies of the diverse teams of online education volunteers will make it possible, by understanding their personal and group specifics, to lay a solid foundation, which can potentially lead to global unity of people with the prospect of large-scale amplification of knowledge as one of the highest human values.

The development of the Internet contributes to the activity of education volunteers who disseminate a variety of information on the Web. This study is limited to virtual volunteers who share useful knowledge in cyberspace. Although the issues of volunteering are covered quite widely in psychological science, the volitional mechanisms that encourage online educational activities have been poorly studied. The leading role in the deployment of such prosocial behavior is played by a specific value-orientation system. The purpose of this research is to identify and describe the systems of values and value orientations of online educators, namely representatives of the expert core of the online encyclopedia “Wikipedia” (N = 96) and the question-answer (QA) online project “Otvety” (N = 47). The study is based on the value-specific (SVS, PVQ) methodology developed by Sh. Schwartz and adapted by V.N. Karandashev; the participants belong to the abovementioned expert core groups of online education volunteers. The results reveal their relatively homogeneous set of values, which is developing into an altruistic meta-orientation towards autonomously given and situationally different dissemination of knowledge aimed at providing information (as a public utility) and regulated by self-transcendence and openness to changes. Intersubjective (in terms of normative ideals and individual priorities) and intergroup (in terms of communities) value-related comparison of the study participants - Wikipedia authors and QA “Otvety” service experts - optionally show that the Wikipedians are more inclined to avoid saturated social relationships (being socially inert), however, are much more hedonistic about life than the QA-experts. At the same time, both groups are brought together as close as possible by the radical condemnation of any factors that interfere with social harmony and limit the freedom to manifest oneself as a person. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that further understanding of the personal and group characteristics of education volunteers can expand the scope of education; therefore, in subsequent studies, it is proposed to use successive psychodiagnostic methods that measure value specificity in a psychosocial context.

Effective inventory management plays a crucial role in the automotive industry, especially in the dynamic market landscape of India. This study examines the importance and value orientation associated with effective inventory management practices in the Indian automobile sector. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical analysis, this study identifies key factors that influence inventory management effectiveness, including supply chain dynamics, demand variability, and operational efficiency. Furthermore, it explores the value orientation of inventory management strategies, considering cost minimisation, customer service enhancement, and risk mitigation. Effective inventory management is a critical determinant of operational efficiency and competitiveness within the automotive industry, particularly in the context of India's dynamic market environment. This research delves into the significance and value orientation underlying effective inventory management practices within the Indian automotive sector, drawing upon theoretical frameworks from operations management and supply chain literature. Through a comprehensive review of existing theories and empirical analysis, this study identifies key theoretical constructs shaping inventory management effectiveness, including the Bullwhip Effect, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model, and Just-in-Time (JIT) principles. Moreover, it examines the value orientation inherent in inventory management strategies, encompassing cost minimisation theories, service level optimisation models, and risk management frameworks. Furthermore, it explores the value orientation of inventory management strategies, considering cost minimisation, customer service enhancement, and risk mitigation. The findings suggest that a balanced approach, aligning with the unique characteristics of the Indian automotive industry, is crucial for achieving optimal inventory management outcomes. By synthesising theoretical insights with empirical findings, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the theoretical underpinnings driving effective inventory management practices in the Indian automotive industry. Practical implications and theoretical extensions are discussed to guide future research endeavours and inform managerial decision-making aimed at enhancing inventory management effectiveness in this context. The growth of the car fleet has caused many problems, such as environmental problems, uncontrolled energy consumption, and traffic congestion. To resolve the issues caused by transport-related activities, transportation planners should implement policies that reduce car use and move forward to sustainable transportation. The prerequisite of the efficiency of the policies that reduce car use is the acceptance of them by the entire community members. Previously a few studies have tested individuals’ environmental attitudes using the Value-Belief-Norm (VBN) theory. This research aims to analyze and examine car use reduction policy using a comprehensive VBN and Norm-Activation-model (NAM) theories to consider more variables and provide a model with more analytical capability. To address this issue, 500 questionnaires were filled by travelers’ in Tehran, Iran, in the restricted traffic area to describe their behavior. The result shows that the biospheric value significantly affects car use reduction policy, associated with considerable environmental concerns. Besides, it was found that a high ascription of responsibility (A.R.) appeared as the strongest predictor of the policy. The findings have represented initial support for the VBN theory and revealed that the theory could explain the car use reduction policy’s Intention, according to Tehran’s respondents’ environmental behavior. This study’s findings can assist policymakers in adopting appropriate policies to reduce car use based on environmental advantages and could target biospheric values and ascription of responsibilities.

The article examines the problem of intergenerational dynamics of the religiosity level in post-Soviet Russia in the context of cultural transformations, combining the movement towards postsecularity and the domination of secular values of late modern societies. The paper analyzes the all-Russian data, ob-tained within the framework of the project “World Values Survey”, as well as data on religiosity and value orientations of the population of some Russian Arctic regions, obtained with the direct participation of the author. As a result of the analysis, the author verifies several hypotheses and comes to certain qualitative results. Firstly, there is a generational shift from traditional values to secular-rational values in modern Russia (according to R. Inglehart). The beginning of this process falls on the period of the socialization of the Millennial generation, the context of which is the economic and political reforms of the 19902000s. Secondly, the process of the intergenerational transformation of values is organically associated with a decline in the level of religiosity, but it is “delayed” by one generation. The author offers an explanation for this desynchronisation. Thirdly, it is shown that the religiosity level of the population of the Arctic territories is lower (in general and by generations) in comparison with the all-Russian religiosity level. The factors contributing to these differences, according to the author, are the relatively low share of Muslim population in the Russian Arctic and its high level of urbanization.

Language plays a central role in the life and activities of our world. This article is a theoretical analysis of the dynamic powers of language in driving possible value-based orientations in higher education. The multilingual nature of the continent of Africa and its bilateral lingual experiences during the colonial eras should be considered as both factual and impacting factors in evaluating language dynamics within value orientations and learning in the African case study. To this end, the article attempts to contribute to the fact that there is a need to find or reinstate value in Africa’s linguistics dynamics and its complexities, as well as give them properly structured orientations within the new phase of repositioning Africa in the global spaces.

The energy sector is a crucial pillar of the economic development of every nation. In developing countries, renewable energy deployment is scarce; consequently, the government and private sectors are exploring efficient energy resources. This research aims to scrutinize the linkages among value orientation, utilitarian benefits, collectivism, the reason for adoption, attitude toward renewable energy (RE), and adoption intention in the renewable energy context. The study analyzes survey data from 359 Pakistani consumers using solar panels for households. An approach called structural equation modeling is applied to evaluate hypotheses. Empirical findings suggest that value orientation positively and significantly influences the reason for the adoption of RE and attitude toward RE. Similarly, the utilitarian benefit positively and substantially affects attitude toward RE. Moreover, collectivism and reason for adoption are substantially and favorably related to attitude toward RE. The study's findings also show that customer intentions to use renewable energy are favorably and substantially influenced by RE attitudes. The research has contributed to the enhancement of future avenues for scholars and professionals are provided by the literature on renewable practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Toplumsal değerler, bireylerin dünyaya bakışını belirleyen temel kültürel kodlar olup yaşanan birtakım gelişmelerin etkisiyle değişebilmektedir. Söz konusu değişimi anlamak ve açıklamak için kullanılan araçlardan biri olan kuşak kavramı, belirli zaman dilimlerinde dünyaya gelen insan kümelerini ifade etmek için kullanılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda 2000 yılından sonra dünyaya gelenleri belirtmek için kullanılan Z kuşağı, sahip olduğu değerler ve öz nitelikler açısından daha önceki hiçbir nesile benzemeyen özgün bir yapı arz etmektedir. Z kuşağı ile neredeyse aynı tarihsel zaman diliminde gelişip yaygınlaşan transhümanizm hareketi ise 21. yüzyılın en önemli toplumsal hareketlerinden biridir. Özellikle gen teknolojisi, robotik bilimi ve birtakım tıbbî uygulamalar aracılığıyla insanın sınırlı doğasını dönüştürmeyi/geliştirmeyi amaçlayan ve seküler bir karakter arz eden bu hareket, mezkûr dönemde yaşanan tekno-bilimsel devrimler sayesinde etkisini giderek artırmaktadır. Günümüzde giderek radikalleşen küreselleşme süreciyle beraber Z kuşağı bireyleri, söz konusu hareketin benimsediği seküler değerlerden doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak etkilenmektedir. Bu etki Z kuşağı mensuplarının önceki nesillerin benimsediği bazı geleneksel ve dinî değerleri sorgulamalarını beraberinde getirmektedir. Buna ek olarak yeni nesil gençlerin pragmatik ve hedonist yaşam felsefesi, başta cinsiyet rolleri olmak üzere geleneksel açıdan keskin bir şekilde belirlenen birtakım sınırların bulanıklaşmasına ortam hazırlamaktadır. Çalışmamız, transhümanist hareketin yaydığı değerler ile Z kuşağı bireylerinin değer eğilimleri arasındaki örtüşmelere odaklanmaktadır. Zira transhümanizmin benimsediği bireysellik, eleştirel düşünme ve açık fikirlilik, varsayımları ve inançlara karşı sorgulayıcı yaklaşım, pragmatizm ve her türlü ırkçılığa, cinsiyet ayrımcılığına karşı olma gibi birtakım değerlerin Z kuşağı bireylerinde de yansımaları olduğu gözlenmektedir. Çalışmamızın amacı Z kuşağının değişen değer eğilimlerini transhümanizm perspektifinden anlamaya çalışmak ve konuya dair teorik bir zemin sunmaktır.

Background. Currently there is a polymorphism of academic positions regarding the value-meaning sphere of personality. a is issue requires a responsible resolution from the psychological community. Building up the system-analytical research on the topic is con-sidered as the way out of this problematic situation.Objective of the study is to systematically describe the key academic statements on personal values and meanings.Methods.a e study implemented a thinking method of “analysis through synthesis” (according to S.L. Rubinshtein and A.V. Brushlinsky). a e author distinguished the most essential parts of the numerous works on values and meanings by Russian and foreign authors. a e integration of these parts made it possible to holistically outline the main statements on the value-meaning sphere of personality.Results.a e research allowed to postulate the dominant priority of values and mea-nings in the personality orientation, to consider the speci` cs of their genesis, the nature of selectivity, structural characteristics, principles of functioning, and reorganization dynamics.Conclusion.a eoretical generalizations based on heterogeneous research on the v a l u e - o r i e n t e d a n d m e a n i n g a s p e c t s o f p e r s o n a l i t y f r o m t h e p e r s p e c t i v e o f i n d i v i d u a l a n d group speci` city can significantly boost elimination of inconsistencies in explanations of the motivational-volitional components of personality orientation, and thus have a positive impact on the development of psychological science.
