Signal processing and data analysis are widely used methods in a biomedical research. In recent years, detection of cardiovascular abnormalities in patients can be achieved by using electrocardiogram (ECG) recording. In this paper, a fuzzy-based multi-objective algorithm using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is proposed. Initially, an effective FFT is used to extract the feature points in ECG signals, such as PQRST wave's amplitude and wave function and then the proposed multi-objective genetic algorithm is used to classify the abnormality of heart patient. Basically, the ECG behaviour depends on various factors such as age, physical condition of patients and the surrounding environment. The efficient detection of abnormalities (e.g. arrhythmia and myocardial abstraction) can be achieved by initializing the above-mentioned factors and maintaining a database containing previously attributed signals, such MIT-BIH arrhythmia. The present study provides efficiency of around 98.7% in detection of abnormalities in patients.

This research investigates the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of LM25 (Al-Si-Mg) alloy and Cr-modified LM25-Cr (Al-Si-Mg-Cr) alloy. Microstructural analysis reveals distinctive ε-Si phase morphologies, with Cr addition refining dendritic structures and reducing secondary dendrite arm spacing in the as-cast condition. Cr modification results in smaller-sized grains and a modified ε-Si phase, enhancing nucleation sites and reducing ε-Si size. Microhardness studies demonstrate significant increases in hardness for both alloys after solutionising and aging treatments. Cr-enriched alloy exhibits superior hardness due to solid solution strengthening, and prolonged aging further influences ε-Si particle size and distribution. The concurrent rise in microhardness, attributed to refined dendritic structures and unique ε-Si morphology, underscores the crucial role of Cr modification in tailoring the mechanical properties of aluminium alloys for specific applications.

Abstract This article establishes various fixed-point results and introduces the idea of an extended b-suprametric space. We also give several applications pertaining to the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the equations concerning RLC electric circuits. At the end of the article, a few open questions are posed concerning the distortion of Chua’s circuit and the formulation of the Lagrangian for Chua’s circuit.

Maize-based crop systems are promoted in large scale in South Asia because they are more sustainable and efficient than rice-based systems. In the present study, using two combinations of crop residue management practices (CRM) with four precision nitrogen (N) management (PNM) systems, we assessed the impacts on soil physicochemical characteristics [soil organic carbon (SOC), bulk density (BD), soil penetration resistance (PR)] and crop yields in 6 years old continuous zero tillage (ZT) practices under maize-wheat-mungbean cropping system in a sandy loam soil of northwestern India. The highest SOC (5.73 g/kg) was observed in Zero Tillage with Residue Retention (ZT + R) plots. Zero-tillage with residue retention (ZT + R) significantly reduced the bulk density over the zero-tillage with no residue retention (ZT-R) across the soil depth. The bulk density in ZT + R was 6.5 and 10.7% lower at 0–15 cm and 15–30 cm soil depth, respectively, than under ZT-R. The penetration resistance (PR) was significantly lower in ZT + R than in ZT-R across the soil depth. Soil organic carbon (SOC) in ZT + R was 7.4% higher at 0–15 cm depth and 11.9% higher at 15–30 cm depth than under ZT-R treatment. Among PNM treatments, the sequence of treatments in SOC content was 50%N + Green Seeker (GS) >33%N + GS > RDN > 70%N + GS. The system productivity (maize equivalent yield) under ZT + R in combination with 50%BN + GS was 15.0% higher than crops grown under ZT-R with RDN. The wheat equivalent yield under the ZT + R treatment is found to be higher (5.97) in the 50%BN + GS, which was 18% higher than the recommended dose of nitrogen treatment (5.04) and 28% higher than the 70%BN + GS treatment (4.68). Results demonstrated that plots with residue retention performed better, showing a 10% increase in system productivity. The study concludes that a ZT-based system with maize-based crop rotations (MWMb) with crop residue retention and precision nitrogen management can improve soil properties and system productivity in northwestern India.

Trypanosomes are the extraerythrocytic haemoflagellate protozoan parasites of domestic and wild animals including dogs. A male Rottweiler dog was presented with the history of anorexia, cloudy eyes and vomiting for a week. The dog was examined both physically and clinically. Blood was collected and subjected to haematological and biochemical analysis. Echocardiography of the thoracic cavity and ultrasonography of the abdominal cavity were performed. Molecular confirmation of parasite was carried out by PCR and DNA was sequenced to identify strain variations. Upon clinical examination, the dog revealed emaciation with high fever, unilateral corneal opacity, anemia, enlarged lymph nodes and distended abdomen. Echocardiography of the thoracic cavity showed ventricular hypertrophy and cardiomyopathy. Ultrasonography of the abdominal cavity showed splenomegaly and renomegaly. Haematological findings revealed decreased haemoglobin and erythrocyte count and biochemical findings revealed increased BUN and creatinine, hypoglycemia and hypoalbuminemia. Wet film and blood smear examination revealed actively motile trypanosomes and massive infection of trypanosomes, respectively. Molecular confirmation of species was carried out by amplification of 227 bp partial VSG gene of Trypanososma evansi, subsequently sequenced and phylogenitically analysed. The infected dog was treated intramuscularly with diminazene aceturate @ 3.5 mg /kg b.wt along with the supportive therapy. The study described the occurrence and diagnosis of trypanosomosis in dog. Early diagnosis and timely treatment is the most reliable way to safeguard the companion animals. It is the first report on trypanosomosis in dog from Cauvery delta region of Tamil Nadu, India.

Abstract The Internet of Things (IoT) security is a highly challenging research domain. The IoT user devices frequently function in vulnerable platforms that cause many security problems that can be considered. The model lightweight cryptographic (LWC) method stake place to reflect the importance of cryptographic systems which offer safety with the employ of an effectual count of resources. The purpose of the lightweight system's design is to strike a balance in many features like low resource demand, performance, and cryptographic algorithm stability and strength. Therefore, this study develops a new Improved Lightning Search Algorithm based End-to-End Lightweight Partially Homomorphic Encryption Approach (ILSA-LPHEA) for Securing the IoT Environment. For securing the data in the IoT environment, a lightweight partially homomorphic encryption (PHE) approach is used. Since key generation remains an important process to establish secure data transmission among IoT devices and servers, the ILSA is used. The hybridization of lightweight encryption with PHE strategy provides better security by enhancing privacy, confidentiality, and authentication, enabling end-to-end encryption. A detailed experimental result analysis highlighted the better solution of the ILSA-LPHEA algorithm with recent models.

This study explores how machining parameters affect Surface Roughness (SR), Tool Wear Rate (TWR), and Material Removal Rate (MRR) during Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) of a hybrid aluminum metal matrix composite (AMMC). The composite includes 6 % Silicon carbide (SiC) and 6 % Boron carbide (B4C) in an Aluminum 7075 (Al7075) matrix. A combined optimization approach was used to balance these factors, evaluating Pulse ON time, Current, Voltage, and Pulse OFF time. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) optimized single responses, while multi-response optimization employed a hybrid method combining the Entropy Weight Method (EWM), Taguchi approach, TOPSIS, and GRA. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) assessed parameter significance, revealing substantial impacts on SR, MRR, and EWR. Based on TOPSIS and GRA, optimized parameters achieved a desirable balance: high MRR (0.4172, 0.5240 mm³/min), minimal EWR (0.0068, 0.0103 mm³/min), and acceptable SR (10.3877, 9.1924 μm) based on EWM-weighted priorities. Confirmation experiments validated a 15 % improvement in the closeness coefficient, and a 16 % improvement in the Grey relational grade, which considers combined SR, MRR, and EWR performance. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis of surfaces machined with optimal parameters showed minimal debris, cracks, and no recast layer, indicating high surface integrity. This research enhances EDM optimization for AMMC, achieving efficiency in machining, minimizing tool wear, and meeting surface quality requirements.

The solvation behavior of protein is an important factor in protein-based food products. In the present study, the xylitol (XY) - ovalbumin (OVN) interaction in an aqueous solution of different pH conditions is analyzed in two methods. In one method, the thermodynamic parameters Gibbs free energy, free volume, and internal pressure are calculated by using ultrasonic velocity, density, and viscosity in addition the refractive index is also measured. The second method is a theoretical method in which using the Laplace transform technique the diffused amount of protein have been calculated for OVN with and without XY in different pH environment. The addition of XY with OVN makes the system with more free energy and free volume as the internal pressure decreases. This trend shows that preferential interaction occurs between solvent–solute molecules. The diffusivity of OVN is reduced after the addition of XY representing the strength of protein-protein interaction. The effect of pH changes is well reflected in both experimental and theoretical results. The results confirm that acidic pH extremity offers more solvation of OVN compared to alkaline pH extremity.

Background: Anorexia nervosa is one of the least studied mental health conditions in the Indian setting. The objective of this study was to assess the course and outcome of anorexia nervosa in adolescents who had presented to a tertiary care child and adolescent psychiatry center over a period of 10 years. Methods: The present study is a retrospective chart review of adolescents (up to the age of 18 years) with a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa, coded as F50.0 or F50.1 according to ICD 10, from 1 st April 2009 to 31 st March 2019. Data were extracted from the case records using standardized abstraction forms and evaluated using descriptive and nonparametric statistics. Results: The average age at presentation and the average age at onset were 14.1 years and 13.1 years, respectively. The male-to-female ratio of the sample who got admitted was 1:9. The average duration of hospital stay was about 30 days. The duration of in-patient care and weight gain were positively correlated, with severe to extremely ill adolescents improving even in less than one month of in-patient care. Seventy per cent of the admitted adolescents followed up. The functional outcome as measured by a ‘return to school’ improved in 57.1% of the sample. Conclusions: The present study highlights the collaborative multidisciplinary and individualized treatment approach employed for adolescents diagnosed with anorexia nervosa within an inpatient mental health facility in India. Adolescents who presented with more severe illness at the initial assessment, such as an early onset of symptoms and a low BMI, experienced substantial weight gain that exhibited a positive correlation with the length of their stay in the inpatient facility.

Considering the persistent challenge of early heart attack detection in patients, despite significant advancements in medical systems, this research project is motivated by the imperative need to develop effective predictive machine learning models. The central problem addressed here in is the identification of individuals at risk of experiencing a heart attack. In response to this problem, two distinct models have been devised and meticulously evaluated, namely decision trees and logistic regression, each designed to fulfil the primary objective of this research. Through a rigorous analysis and thorough evaluation of the results, we have scrutinised the performance of these models. The comparison between decision trees and logistic regression provides valuable insights into their efficacy in predicting heart attacks. The culmination of this endeavor not only contributes to the growing body of knowledge in heart attack prediction and provides healthcare professionals with powerful tools for early diagnosis, potentially saving lives and improving patient outcomes.

Abstract The concept of graphical structures of extended suprametric space is introduced in this study and applied to supra-graphical contractive mapping. A recursive algorithm in connection with graphical notions can be employed in adaptive systems to construct a desired output function iteratively after specific conditions are first defined to ensure the existence of the solution by use of supra-graphical contractive mapping. After analyzing the historical context and relevant outcomes, we discuss the usage of graphical structures and supra-graphical contractive mappings in the conceptual frameworks of adaptive control and optimal control systems.

Abstract The mechanical dysregulation of cells is associated with a number of disease states, that spans from fibrosis to tumorigenesis. Hence, it is highly desirable to develop strategies to deliver drugs based on the “mechanical phenotype” of a cell. To achieve this goal, we report the development of DNA mechanocapsules (DMC) comprised of DNA tetrahedrons that are force responsive. Modeling shows the trajectory of force-induced DMC rupture and predicts how applied force spatial position and orientation tunes the force-response threshold. DMCs functionalized with adhesion ligands mechanically denature in vitro as a result of cell receptor forces. DMCs are designed to encapsulate macromolecular cargos such as dextran and oligonucleotide drugs with minimal cargo leakage and high nuclease resistance. Force-induced release and uptake of DMC cargo is validated using flow cytometry. Finally, we demonstrate force-induced mRNA knockdown of HIF-1α in a manner that is dependent on the magnitude of cellular traction forces. These results show that DMCs can be effectively used to target biophysical phenotypes which may find useful applications in immunology and cancer biology.

Background: Seborrheic keratosis (SK) is a skin condition affecting the keratinocytes. Although various treatment options are available, the need for a simpler topical treatment approach is unmet. Hydrogen peroxide (HP) acts by forming free radicals and initiates apoptosis in cells. Aims and Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of 30% HP in SK. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted on patients attending the Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprology at MGM Hospital attached to Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal and Government Medical College Mahabubabad, Telangana, during the period from December 2019 to May 2021. In total, 80 adult patients with SKs were enrolled. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the MGM Hospital attached to Kakatiya Medical College. This is a prospective and interventional study. Eighty patients will be treated with 30% of HP topically. A photographic record of the pre- and post-treatment appearance of lesions was maintained. Physician’s lesion assessment (PLA) score was evaluated on day 15th and 106th day after treatment. Local skin reactions (LSRs) were divided into mild, moderate, and severe categories. LSR was observed immediately after 2 weeks and 106 days of treatment. Results: Most of the patients were of middle to elderly age group. SK lesions were most common seen over the head and trunk. The dermatosis papulosa nigra variant was the most common. PLA 0 was observed by day 15 in some patients after application. Of 30% HP, faster healing rates were observed in lesions over the face, and middle aged. Conclusion: About 30% HP is a promising option for the treatment of SK.

India is the second-largest tribal population in the world. However, after the seven decades of independence, the tribal groups are disadvantaged and socially backward from the cycle of growth in many areas such as health, education, employment, and empowerment, and more. Among these, for tribal society, education is an essential requirement. The state and central governments have initiated several programs to educate tribal groups. Many of these programs have achieved only 10 percent of the targets. The vast numbers of tribal peoples are missing their education at various levels. They lag in education due to the high illiteracy rates among the tribal population relative to Scheduled Castes (S.C.s). Hence, the time has come to consider tribal education and inclusive growth seriously. In this context, the comprehensive literature review seeks to provide a contemporary overview of India's current status and challenging issues of tribal education. The paper is purely based on second-hand information from various research studies conducted in India and collected from different government sources. The outcomes are more helpful in implementing schemes that can improve tribal literacy and inclusive growth perspectives.
