A well-balanced diet provides many compounds with antioxidant properties, such as vitamins, minerals, provitamins (e.g., b-carotene), and phytochemicals (e.g., carotenoids, polyphenols, organosulfur compounds). In addition to direct antioxidants, foods indirectly support the endogenous defense system, by providing substrates for the synthesis of glutathione, antioxidant defense enzymes, metal-binding proteins, or modulators of redox-dependent signaling pathways. Epidemiological studies indicate that higher intakes and circulating concentrations of vitamins C, E, carotenoids, and flavonoids reflect a lower risk of chronic diseases and all-cause mortality, suggesting the importance of optimal intakes of these substances. However, unlike antioxidant micronutrients, phytochemicals have no defined recommended intake levels. A diet should be based on consuming various plant foods (fruit, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, seeds, nuts), antioxidant-rich beverages, and a moderate intake of animal food products to fully exploit the health-promoting effects of dietary antioxidants.

PLANT extracts ,SMALL intestine ,GENTIANA ,SODIUM bicarbonate ,GENTIANACEAE - Abstract
Background/Objectives: This study aimed to develop gastroretentive tablets based on mucoadhesive–floating systems with encapsulated gentian (Gentiana lutea, Gentianaceae) root extract to overcome the low bioavailability and short elimination half-life of gentiopicroside, a dominant bioactive compound with systemic effect. The formulation also aimed to promote the local action of the extract in the stomach. Methods: Tablets were obtained by direct compression of sodium bicarbonate (7.5%) and solid lipid microparticles (92.5%), which were obtained with lyophilizing double emulsions. A quality by design (QbD) was employed to evaluate the impact of formulation factors and processing parameters on emulsion viscosity, powder characteristics (moisture content, encapsulation efficiency, flowability), and tablet characteristics (floating lag time, gentiopicroside release, and assessment of dispersibility during in vitro dissolution). Results: The trehalose content and high-shear-homogenization (HSH) time of primary emulsion were critical factors. Trehalose content positively influenced emulsion viscosity, moisture content, floating lag time, encapsulation efficiency, and the release rate of gentiopicroside. HSH time positively affected powder stability and negatively gentiopicroside release. The selected powder had a high gentiopicroside encapsulation efficiency (95.13%), optimal stability, and good flowability. The developed tablets exhibited adequate floating lag time (275 s), mucoadhesive properties, and gentiopicroside biphasic release (29.04% in 45 min; 67.95% in 6 h). Furthermore, the optimal tablet formulation remained stable for 18 months and was primarily digested by duodenal enzymes. Conclusions: Dual-mechanism gastroretentive tablets with encapsulated gentian root extract were successfully developed. The in vitro digestion study demonstrated that the optimal formulation effectively resisted gastric enzymes, ensuring the release of its contents in the small intestine, even in the case of premature gastric evacuation. FOURIER transform infrared spectroscopy ,TIME-of-flight mass spectrometry ,FOOD additives ,GOATS ,DIETARY supplements ,DRIED milk ,GOAT milk - Abstract
The current trend in food innovations includes developing products containing plant ingredients or extracts rich in bioactive compounds. This study aimed to prepare and characterize skimmed thermally treated goat's milk powders enriched with lyophilized fruit extracts of Lycium ruthenicum Murray (GMLR) and Lycium barbarum L. (GMLB). Proximate analysis, ultra-high performance liquid chromatography with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy using attenuated total reflection (FTIR-ATR), and electrophoretic analysis were assessed. Total phenolic content (TPC), total protein content, and antioxidant properties of enriched goat milk powders were determined spectrophotometrically, and prebiotic potential was evaluated by the broth microdilution method. A total of 25 phenolic compounds and 18 phenylamides were detected in the enriched goat milk powders. Electrophoretic analysis showed the absence of proteolysis in the prepared powders. The GMLR showed the highest TPC and displayed a ferric ion-reducing power, probably contributed by anthocyanins and some phenylamides. GMLR and GMLB had higher ABTS radical scavenging activity but lower ferrous ion-chelating capacity than control goat′s milk powder. GMLB and GMLR in a dose-dependent manner (0.3–5 mg/mL) showed a growth-promoting effect on probiotic strains. In summary, prepared goji/goat milk powders, primarily GMLR, might be used as prebiotic supplements or functional food additives. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Besides iodine deficiency, autoimmune Hashimoto thyroiditis is the leading cause of hypothyroidism globally, characterized by the increased titer of thyroid autoantibodies and destruction of thyroid cells. Graves' disease is the most common etiology of hyperthyroidism worldwide. Patients with thyroid dysfunction often require dietary modifications. Popular interventions include supplementation with certain vitamins and minerals, as well as trace elements such as iodine and selenium. The intake of food containing goitrogens should be limited. Goitrogens are substances of plant origin that interfere with the production of thyroid hormones, increasing the risk for goiter and hypothyroidism. The primary dietary sources of goitrogens are cruciferous vegetables, soy products, starchy plants, and some fruits. Beyond essential nutrients, there has been an increasing interest in using specific nutraceuticals, including myoinositol, Lcarnitine, melatonin, and resveratrol, as potential preventive and therapeutic agents in thyroid diseases. Even though current evidence promotes some beneficial outcomes of these nutraceuticals, further investigations are needed to clarify dose-dependent effects, duration of supplementation, combination in different clinical settings, and the exact mechanism of their action in thyroid disorders.

Due to the presence of numerous bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides and polyphenols, mushroom-based food supplements are claimed to have many beneficial health effects. Despite their popularity, concerns have been raised in recent years over the quality of mushroom products, particularly regarding their non-standardized chemical composition. In this study, the β-glucan and total phenolic contents, as well as the antioxidant potential of mushroom-derived supplements available on the Serbian market were analyzed. The obtained results, revealing considerable differences in β-glucan and total polyphenol contents among these products, reflect variations in mushroom species, forms and recommended dosing regimens. A correlation between the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity was observed. The presence of other active ingredients, such as vitamin C, has contributed to antioxidant variability among the analyzed products. The obtained results indicate the need for the standardization of mushroom-derived food supplements to ensure their claiming effects. Introduction: The use of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) for the treatment of end-stage heart failure and the fast technological development of these devices have led to an increasing number of patients with implanted LVADs with possibilities to be scheduled for different surgical interventions. Urgent abdominal operations in this group of patients are very complex and pose a particular challenge. Case report: A 61-year-old male patient with an implanted LVAD underwent urgent small bowel resection with ileostomy. Given the severity of cardiac and surgical conditions and the limited availability of LVAD specialists, the anesthetic plan had to be tailored to provide hemodynamic stability, adequate organ perfusion, thromboprophylaxis, reduce risk of infection, pump failure and device damage during surgery. Broad-spectrum antibiotics, thromboembolic and anti-ulcer prophylaxis were given before surgery. Midazolam, fentanyl, and succinylcholine were used to administer anesthesia, and sevoflurane, rocuronium, and fentanyl were used for maintenance. The greatest challenge was balancing the pump thrombosis prevention and minimal perioperative bleeding. During the perioperative period INR values were kept in reference range for LVAD. X-ray verification of the cable position was used to prevent device damage through surgical procedure. LVAD pump parameters were monitored, no alarm was sounded. On the ninth postoperative day, the patient was referred to a reference institution for further treatment. Conclusion: Perioperative management of patients with LVAD device, includes hemodynamic stability, careful handling of the device and prevention of complications like thrombosis and bleeding.

Herein we describe the antioxidant, antimicrobial, antibiofilm, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing potential of aqueous and polysaccharide extracts from three widely appreciated mushrooms: Agrocybe aegerita, Laetiporus sulphureus and Agaricus bisporus. Moreover, we present their detailed phenolic, polysaccharide and protein profiles and ATR-FTIR spectra. The study found that polysaccharide extracts (PEs) from mushrooms had higher total and β-glucan levels than aqueous extracts (AEs), with A. aegerita showing the highest content. L. sulphureus had a higher total protein content, and A. aegerita AE had the highest phenolic content. Our results indicate that all the tested extracts have high potential regarding their bioactive properties, with A. aegerita being the most promising one. Namely, the antibacterial activity assay showed that the development of the skin-infection-causing agent, Staphylococcus aureus, was inhibited with a minimal inhibitory concentration of 4.00 mg/mL and minimal bactericidal concentration of 8.00 mg/mL, while the results regarding wound healing showed that, over the course of 24 h, the A. aegerita extract actively promoted wound closure in the HaCaT keratinocyte cell line model. The anti-inflammatory activity results clearly showed that when we used S. aureus as an inflammation-inducing agent and the A. aegerita aqueous extract in treatment, IL-6 levels reduced to the level of 4.56 pg/mL. The obtained data suggest that the tested mushroom extracts may serve as a source of bioactive compounds, with potential applications in the cosmeceutical, pharmaceutical and food industries. Furthermore, potential skin preparations carefully crafted with mushroom extract may help restore the skin's barrier function, decrease the probability of staph infections and minimize skin irritation. - Abstract
Assessing dietary habits with validated questionnaires is crucial for achieving reliable results in health research. The aim of this study was the development and validation of a semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) in an 18–30-year-old Serbian population. A total of 93 participants completed the FFQ and three 24 h dietary recalls (24 hR). Pearson and intraclass correlations between FFQ and 24 hR intakes were assessed and were de-attenuated and energy-adjusted. Bland–Altman plots were generated, and quintiles of energy, water, fiber, and macronutrient intake were analyzed with contingency tables. Adjustments for sex differences were included. The validity of the FFQ varied, with significant correlations for energy, carbohydrates, cholesterol, and vitamin B
12 , vitamin C and vitamin D. Misclassification rates were generally low. Bland–Altman plots indicated good agreement between methods. It can be concluded that the validated FFQ is a promising tool for dietary assessment in the Serbian population. Results for several nutrients align closely with previous studies. The new FFQ is a useful tool for dietary assessment in the Serbian population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

- Abstract
Herb-induced liver injury (HILI) caused by herbal supplements, natural products, and products used in traditional medicine are important for differential diagnoses in patients with acute liver injury without an obvious etiology. The root of Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal, commonly known as ashwagandha, has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years to promote health and longevity. Due to various biological activities, ashwagandha and its extracts became widespread as herbal supplements on the global market. Although it is generally considered safe, there are several reported cases of ashwagandha-related liver injury, and one case ended with liver transplantation. In this paper, we review all reported cases so far. Additionally, we describe two new cases of ashwagandha hepatotoxicity. In the first case, a 36-year-old man used ashwagandha capsules (450 mg, three times daily) for 6 months before he developed nausea, pruritus, and dark-colored urine. In the second case, a 30-year-old woman developed pruritus after 45 days of using ashwagandha capsules (450 mg). In both cases, serum bilirubin and liver enzymes (aspartate transaminase (AST), alanine transaminase (ALT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) were increased. The liver injury pattern was hepatocellular (R-value 11.1) and mixed (R-value 2.6), respectively. The updated Roussel Uclaf Causality Assessment Method (RUCAM) (both cases with a score of seven) indicated a “probable” relationship with ashwagandha. Clinical and liver function improvements were observed after the discontinuation of ashwagandha supplement use. By increasing the data related to ashwagandha-induced liver injury, these reports support that consuming ashwagandha supplements is not without its safety concerns.

Alpha-lipoic acidis an organosulphur compound well-known for its therapeutic potential and antioxidant properties. However, the effective use of α-lipoic acid depends on biological plasma half-life and its preserving stability, which could be improved by encapsulation. In this study, α-lipoic acid was incorporated into chitosan microparticles obtained by reverse emulsion crosslinking technique, as well as into microparticles of alginate/gelatin crosslinked with zinc ions. Encapsulation of α-lipoic acid in both cases was carried out by swelling of synthesized dried microparticles by their dipping in a solution of the active substance under strictly controlled conditions. Encapsulation efficiency of α-lipoic acid obtained in this study was up to 53.9 %. The structural interaction of α-lipoic acid with the carriers was revealed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. In vitro released studies showed that controlled release of α-lipoic acid was achieved through its encapsulation into chitosan microparticles. The results of in vitro antioxidative activity assays of released α-lipoic acid indicated that antioxidant activity was preserved at a satisfactory level. These obtained results suggested that chitosan microparticles could be suitable for modeling the controlled release of α-lipoic acid. [Projekat Ministartsva nauke Republike Srbije, br. Optimally balanced diet in order to body weight control in combination with adequate physical activity has an important role in the prevention of degenerative joint disorders. Weight reduction is important in ameliorating some of the manifestations of osteoarthritis (OA) and improving the quality of life. There is growing interest in the beneficial effects of some nutrients, especially polyunsaturated fatty acids and vitamin D, as well as many non-nutrient biological active compounds on progression structural damages, pain and functions of the joints. Glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, S-adenosylmethionine, methylsulfonylmethane, alone or in combination, are among the most widely used dietary supplements for the prevention and treatment of OA. However, there are limited high-quality designed clinical trials which supported its potential symptomatic and structure-modifying effects.

The experiment included 90 cows. Cows were chosen according to the time of calving, so that the first third of lactation occurred during the summer in 30 cows (G1), the second third of lactation occurred during the summer in 30 cows (G2), and in the last 30 cows the last third of lactation was in summer period (G3). The value of THI was between 72 and 82, which indicates the existence of the moderate intensity of heat stress. Heat stress does not damage the milk yield, milk fat and protein percentage on the level of the whole lactation, regardless of the lactation period in which the cows were exposed to stress. There was no correlation between THI and milk yield and quality at the level of the whole lactation. Heat stress did not show a significant effect on the parameters of lactation curve, except the peak of yield, which occurred later in cows exposed to heat stress. Increased value of THI showed nonsignificant effect on yield and quality of milk in the first third of lactation. In the middle and at the end of lactation THI was in a significant negative correlation with the yield and quality of milk. Our study showed a significantly lower heat-induced milk yield, milk fat and protein percent in the middle and at the end of lactation.

plant extracts ,prebiotic - Abstract
In recent years, many preclinical studies have provided evidence that polyphenol compounds and their metabolites exert prebiotic-like effects by selectively stimulating intestinal bacteria growth and/or activity [1]. In this study, we investigated the chemical composition, antioxidant capacity, and prebiotic potential of methanol extracts obtained from Prunus spinosa L. (blackthorn) and Lycium ruthenicum Murray (black goji) fruits. Polyphenolic profiles were characterized by using HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS and antioxidant capacity was estimated with DPPH•, ABTS•+, and FRAP assays. The influence of plant extracts (0.312-5 mg/L) on the growth of three probiotic lactobacilli, probiotic yeast (Saccharomyces boulardii), and two probiotic mixtures was examined. Studied plant extracts were characterized by different phenolic compound patterns. Hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives, quercetin glycosides and anthocyanins were detected in blackthorn extract, while black goji extract was characterized by the presence of hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives and acylated anthocyanins. The blackthorn fruit extract showed higher antiradical and reduction activity than those obtained from black goji fruits. Both extracts have influenced the growth of all tested probiotics in a concentration-dependent manner, especially of yeast, S. boulardii. The black goji extract had more stimulatory effects, possibly due to higher anthocyanins content. When the black goji extract was added to the growth medium at the concentration of 5 mg/mL, about 2-fold stimulation of the growth of S. boulardii was observed. In conclusion, extracts of the black goji and blackthorn fruits promote the growth of probiotics in vitro. Further studies are still needed to assess the prebiotic potential of these plant extracts. 1st European Symposium on Phytochemicals in Medicine and Food (1-EuSPMF), 7-9 September 2022, Belgrade, Serbia. - Abstract
Fruits of Lycium barbarum L. (Solanaceae), known as wolfberries or goji berries, have been long used in traditional medicine and nutrition in Asian countries. However, in recent years, they have become popular in Europe, including Serbia. However, there are limited data on the chemical composition of goji berries cultivated in our country. This study aimed to estimate and perform a comparative analysis of the mineral content of goji berries from six locations in Serbia. After microwave digestion, macro- (K, Na, P, S, Mg, Ca) and microelement (Fe, Zn, Cu, Cr, Mn, Mo) contents in analyzed samples were determined by the optical emission spectrometry with induced coupled plasma (ICP-OES). As expected, mineral concentrations varied significantly among goji berry samples from different locations (p < 0.05). In general, the decreasing orders of minerals in goji berries were: K > P > S > Na > Mg > Ca > Zn > Fe > Cu > Mn > Cr > Mo. According to the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) values, dried goji berries (30 g) provide a rich source of Cr and Cu, while their contribution to the daily intake of other minerals was below 15% RDA. - Abstract
A considerable interest has been developed over the years for fruits and vegetables consumption due to their potential biological and health promoting effects. This effect is attributed to antioxidants. Among the most important natural antioxidants are secondary plants metabolites, polyphenols. Epidemiological studies indicate that an increase in the consumption of fruits and vegetables is associated with a decrease in the incidence of various diseases. The aim of this work was to estimate the intake of polyphenols in the adult population of the Republic of Serbia based on literature data on polyphenol content in certain foods and intake data obtained from the Bulletin - Household Budget Survey, 2019 (Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia), as well as literature data on intake. Based on literature data on the content of polyphenols in different food groups, it was determined that the following food groups can be sources of polyphenols in the diet of the Serbian adult population: vegetables, fruits, coffee, tea, cacao, chocolate, wine, nuts, and fruit juices. Using the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia data, as well as the literature data on the content of polyphenols in foods that are the major sources of polyphenols in the diet of the adult Serbia population, the polyphenol intake was estimated. The daily intake of polyphenols in the adult population of Serbia is about 500 mg. It is necessary to increase the daily intake of polyphenols in the adult population in Serbia. Beograd

Lycium ruthenicum Murray ,black goji ,phenolic composition - Abstract
Lycium ruthenicum Murray (Solanaceae), also known as black goji or black wolfberry, has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and nutrition in Asian countries [1]. In recent years, black goji berries have been gaining attention as one of the most valuable sources of anthocyanins with many health-promoting effects [2]. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the phytochemical composition and in vitro biological properties of black goji berry cultivated in southeastern Serbia. The total phenolics, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and tannins content were determined spectrophotometrically. HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS analysis was used to identify the phenolic compounds. Methanol extract from black goji berry was screened for in vitro antioxidant (DPPH∙, ABTS∙+, FRAP, CUPRAC, and β-carotene bleaching methods), antimicrobial, and hypoglycemic (α-amylase, α-glucosidase) potential. Phytochemical screening of the extract confirmed the dominant presence of anthocyanins and hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives, with petunidin 3-p-cumaroylrutinoside-5 glucoside as the main phenolic compound [3]. The total phenolic content was 18.13 ± 0.15 mg gallic acid equivalents/g freeze-dried sample. A high correlation is found between the total phenolic content and the antioxidant activities using different in vitro antioxidant assays. The antimicrobial activity of the black goji berry extract against eight laboratory control strains was not pronounced (MIC > 2 mg/ml). The IC50 values were 6.55 ± 0.38 mg/mL and 7.37 ± 0.02 mg/ml for α-amylase, and α-glucosidase inhibition activity, respectively. Overall, obtained results suggest that the black goji berry cultivated in Serbia should be considered a valuable source of bioactive compounds for further use in the food, nutraceutical, and cosmetic industries. 1st European Symposium on Phytochemicals in Medicine and Food (1-EuSPMF), 7-9 September 2022, Belgrade, Serbia

The blackthorn is widespread across temperate Europe and also occurs in the Near East and Africa. The fruit is traditionally used in the treatment of digestive, respiratory and kidney disorders. The aim of the study was to investigate composition and the antibacterial activity of methanol extract of blackthorn fruit, and potential prebiotic effect on selected probiotic microorganisms. The blackthorn fruit is a rich source of vitamin C (5.3 mg/100 g, determinated by titration) as well as Ca, Mg and P (106.7; 42.0 and 43.2 mg/100 g, respectively, determinated by ICP-OES). The total phenolic content was 1,235 mg gallic acid/100 g (FC method). Hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives (caffeoylquinic and feruloylquinic acids), flavonoids (glycosides of quercetin, methylquercetin and kaempferol) and anthocyanins (glycosides of cyanidin and peonidin) were tentatively identified by LC-DAD-ESI-MS. The antimicrobial activity on eight laboratory control strains of bacteria was not pronounced (MIC 1.25->5 mg/ml). On the other hand the extract (0.3-5.0 mg/ml) exhibited significant prebiotic effect on investigated probiotic strains of Lactobacillus spp., Saccharomyces boulardii and their mixtures. The stimulation of growth was in the range 4.0-52.8% in concentration dependent manner. In conclusion, significant prebiotic activity of blackthorn fruit confers new insight in blackthorn health benefits. 14th Symposium on the Flora of Southeastern Serbia and Neighboring Regions, Kladovo, 26th to 29th June 2022

The aim of this study was to isolate, genetically characterize and determine phylogenetic relationship of strains detected in Serbia in comparison to other strains. A total of 480 samples collected from 13 different commercial layer flocks, obtained from tracheal swabs were included. Samples taken from 2016 to 2017 were molecularly analyzed by real-time RT-PCR, multiplex nested RT-PCR, and by sequencing of the S1 gene. Phylogenetic analyses based on partial S1 sequences revealed that six strains were classified as the D274 genotype, two strains as the QX genotype and two strains as the 4/91 genotype. The difference in nucleotide similarity between the Serbian isolates belonging to the D274 group ranges from 0 to 1.2%. Comparison of the obtained strains and D274 (X15832) showed differences from 0 to 0.9%. The greatest nucleotide similarity of detected QX strains was with Chinese QXIBV (KC795604), ranging from 98.8% to 99.1%. Two Serbian strains belonging to the 4/91 genotype had 99.7% and 98.8% nucleotide similarities with vaccine strain 4/91 (KF377577). This study has shown that viruses belonging to D274, QX, and 4/91 genotypes were circulating in poultry flocks in Serbia during 2016 and 2017.

- Abstract
The obtained results indicate the need for the standardization of mushroom-derived food supplements to ensure their claiming effects., ANALYSIS AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF MUSHROOM BASED-DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS - Abstract
Since the fruits of Lycium L. species (Fructus lycii, goji berries) are promoted as a “superfood” with plenty of health benefits, there is extensive research interest in their nutritional and phytochemical composition. In the present study, the nutritional value, minerals, fatty acid composition, and bioactive compounds of L. barbarum L., red, yellow, and black goji berry (L. ruthenicum Murray.) cultivated in Serbia were investigated. Antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of their methanol extracts were assessed. Red goji berry had the highest content of fats, dietary fiber, iron, total carotenoids, and 2-O- -d-glucopyranosyl-l-ascorbic acid (AA-2 G). The yellow goji berry extract showed the highest level of flavonoids and the most prominent antimicrobial (especially against Gram-negative bacteria) properties. The highest total phenolic content and the most potent antioxidant activity were observed for the extract of black goji berry. Therefore, all goji berries could be a valuable source of bioactive compounds in the food and pharmaceutical industry.

- Abstract
Adiponectin is an adipocyte-derived plasma protein with insulin-sensitizing and anti-inflammatory properties and is suggested to be a biomarker of metabolic disturbances. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of alphalipoic acid (ALA) on plasma adiponectin and some metabolic risk factors in patients with schizophrenia. The plasma adipokine levels (adiponectin and leptin), routine biochemical and anthropometric parameters, markers of oxidative stress, and the serum phospholipid fatty acid profile in eighteen schizophrenic patients at baseline, in the middle, and at the end of a 3-month long supplementation period with ALA (500 mg daily) were determined. A significant increase in the plasma adiponectin concentrations, as well as a decrease in fasting glucose and aspartate aminotransferase activity (AST), was found. Baseline AST activity was independently correlated with the adiponectin concentrations. Our data show that ALA can improve plasma adiponectin levels and may play a potential role in the treatment of metabolic risk factor in patients with schizophrenia. Future randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these preliminary investigations.

Ova studija je pokazala da virusi koji pripadaju genotipu D274, QX i 4/91 su cirkulisali u jatima ţivine u Srbiji tokom 2016. i 2017. godine., The aim of this study was to isolate, genetically characterize and determine phylogenetic relationship of strains of virus IB detected in Serbia in comparison to other known referent and circulating strains in the world. A total of 480 samples collected from 13 different commercial layer flocks, obtained from tracheal swabs were included. Samples are taken from 2016 to 2017 and thereafter samples were molecularly analyzed by real-time RT-PCR, multiplex nested RT-PCR, and by sequencing of the S1 gene. The greatest nucleotide of detected QX strains was with Chinese QXIBV (KC795604), ranging from 98.8% to 99.1%.
