Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia (GTN) is a rare disease originating from pregnancy events that have varied incidences and clinical manifestations based on regional variation. We are reporting a case of a 36-year-old woman with Invasive mole from Central India who presented with abnormal uterine bleeding with severe anemia. She had three full-term vaginal deliveries and 2 spontaneous abortions, the last conception being an abortion around 7 years back. MRI pelvis demonstrated a hypervascular uterine mass suggestive of an Invasive Mole, supported by increased serum β-hCG levels of 31.8 IU/ml. There was no evidence of any metastases on adjunct radiological investigations. After a thorough counselling, the enlarged vascular uterine mass was managed by uterine artery embolization (UAE) followed by simple hysterectomy. Histopathology report confirmed the diagnosis of invasive mole with villi lying in the fibrinous blood clot sheath of the syncytial, and cytotrophoblasts were seen invading the myometrium foci. The patient being in the low risk FIGO scoring, calculated was 5, chemotherapy was not deemed necessary for the patient. Serial post operative β-hCG along with ultrasound pelvis and chest radiogram surveillance showed favourable results with no evidence of metastases even on 6 months follow up. Being a very rare condition, a high index of suspicion with prompt timely management ensures optimum care.

We concluded that Uterine balloon tam Conclusions: ponade is effective, non-invasive, simple to use, easily available, and cost-effective method for the management of PPH. If we are unable to control bleeding with this method, it provides a temporary tamponade effect to gain time for surgical procedures or referral to a higher center if facilities are not available

The job market has expanded exponentially in the past few years. With many recruiters and candidates, it is not an easy task to match a perfect candidate with a perfect job. The recruiter targets candidates with the required skill sets mentioned in the job descriptions, while candidates target their dream jobs. The search frictions and skills mismatch are persistent problems. In this paper, we build a model that would match companies with candidates with the right skills and workers with the right company. We have further developed an algorithm to investigate people’s hiring history for better results.

Syzygium cumini, generally renowned as jamun, is a tropical tree that yields purple ovoid fleshy fruit. Jamun is having a very good market value, but due to its unavailability and perishability it is still unexploited. Its seed has been conventionally used in India for the management of different ailments. The present investigation was carried out to understand the chemical composition of jamun seed by analyzing various parameters such as moisture, crude protein, crude fat, ash, crude fibre, carbohydrate and energy per 100 g on dry weight basis. The findings revealed that jamun seed consisted of moisture (6.67±4.76 g), crude protein (5.54±0.26 g), crude fat (1.43±0.02 g), ash (2.34±0.10 g), crude fiber (6.02±0.06 g), carbohydrate (77.99±3.34 g) and energy (347.01±18.19 kcal per 100 g. Proximate composition of jamun seed indicated that it is low in fat content and encompasses with good protein and fibre content. The results showed that jamun seed have adequate dietary nutrients and can be recommended in various lifestyle disorders.

Malnutrition is a severe matter of concern among various countries due to modern lifestyles, especially the consumption of rapidly processed fast food. In 2018, a WHO and UNICEF study concluded that the SDG objective of eradicating all forms of malnutrition by 2030 was aspirational but unattainable and set targets for malnutrition indicators up to 2030 based on current trends. The present situation demands products rich in micronutrients, meet growth and development requirements, and are readily acceptable. A critical reason for such use of rice flour is its nonallergenic nature. A small proportion of the population is allergic to wheat gluten. Rice is widely used in baking for such wheat-intolerant people, i.e., those suffering from the coeliac disorder. Its nonallergenic property also makes rice one of the first cereals to be used in infant feeding. In this scenario, rice flour is preferred as the foremost choice for required sensory acceptability and a low-cost diet. Food-based approaches are recognised as an essential part of an urgently needed, more comprehensive strategy for improving nutrition by increasing the availability and consumption to combat calcium, iron, phosphorus and other micronutrient deficiencies. The combination of rice flour, beaten rice, banana, jaggery contains a high amount of energy protein with calcium and iron content. Such a combination of foods can enhance the nutritive value of homemade products, which can be beneficial for the malnourished population. The present study was undertaken to develop anarsa by combining banana, jaggery and rice flour using the air frying method. The developed product was evaluated for sensory attributes by a panel of 10 judges on 9 points hedonic rating scale. The calculated nutritive value from Indian Food Composition Tables (2017) showed that the product (100g) was not only had a high level of macronutrients, i.e. energy (3123.6 Kcal), carbohydrate (172.5g), protein (12.24g), fat (4.52g) but also rich in micronutrients like calcium (262.8mg), phosphorus (294.4mg) and iron (6.52mg). The product was packed and stored for 15 days at ambient temperature in an airtight container. At pre-evaluation, all the sensory parameters at the 9-point hedonic rating scale were found to be highly acceptable between 'liked moderately' (rating 8) to 'liked very much. After 15 days of storage, all sensory parameters changed and were lying in-between 'liked slightly' (rating 6) to 'liked moderately' (rating 7). The changes in sensory parameters may be due to the darkening of jaggery and changes in the flavour of the product. Thus, it can be concluded that the development and consumption of novel foods from rice flour in combination with other foods like may banana, jaggery and poppy seeds may provide cost-effective and acceptable options for combating macro and micronutrient deficiencies. The leading challenge across the globe currently is COVID 19 pandemic. In the current situation, the only approach to survive is to strengthen the immune system. Traditional spices and herbs have been used as immunity enhancers in Indian cuisine since the dawn of time. Herbs and spices like holy basil, ashwagandha, chamomile, Indian long pepper, giloy, ginger, garlic, thyme, thuja, and turmeric have a plethora of beneficial properties and have several health benefits. The use of these herbs helps cure symptoms, improve immunity, and reduce the risk of infections to a great extent. Purpose: In this context, a relish that included immunity boosters like lemon, ginger, and herbs like chamomile and Indian long pepper was developed with three variations using honey, sugar, and jaggery as sweetening agents, respectively. Vitamin C in lemon helps boost health and fight disease. Gingerol, the bioactive compound in ginger, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, helps in treating colds and soothing a sore throat. Piperine in long pepper helps fight infections. Chamomile is an ancient medicinal herb and has a quintessential role in treating the common cold, sore throat, cough, and flu symptoms because of bioactive compounds like chamazulene, quercetin, luteolin, and patuletin. Method: All three variations were standardized and tested for sensory evaluation on a nine-point Hedonic rating scale by a panel of ten judges. The products were stored in clean sterilized bottles for one month of study. The products developed are calorie dense and are rich in vitamin C content (17.69mg/100g). The recipe using honey and jaggery as a sweetening agent scored eight on the overall acceptability, while the product with sugar scored seven on the Hedonic rating scale. The same procedure was followed to prepare all except the fact that the recipe which had honey was not given the heat treatment before bottling. Probably, due to this reason, the presence of moisture was responsible for fungal growth on the sample with honey after 14 days. The other two variations (with jaggery and sugar) showed no spoilage signs and had the same acceptability even after one month. Conclusion: A wide variety of these medicinal herbs can be implemented in diet and supplementation to support the immune system. The products developed can be used for treating sore throat and dry cough. It can be enjoyed as a spread, chutney, or relish. A slight inclusion of these herbs and spices in the everyday diet in the form of these spreads will gradually improve immunity. Keywords: lemon, ginger, chamomile, Indian long pepper, relish

Malnutrition is by far the highest contributor to child mortality, present in half of all the cases globally. Malnutrition is more common in India than in Sub-Saharan Africa. One in every three malnourished children in the world lives in India. The nutritional status of an individual is often the result of many interrelated factors. The main objectives include to study the dietary intake of 4-5 years old tribal girls. To study the dietary adequacy of 4-5 years old tribal girls. Purposive sampling was adopted for this study. In this study, a total of 224 pre-school girls of 4-5 year old were selected from Kotra and Jhadol block of Udaipur who were already enrolled in any nutritional program (like Anganwadi or Balwadi centers). They were interviewed through the 24-hourrecall method of diet survey to assess the food and nutrient intake to assess the dietary adequacy. The present study shows that the gap between the mean intake and the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) value for nutrients like energy (682.84 kcal/d in Kotra and 585.18 kcal/d in Jhadol), calcium (117.12 mg/d in Kotra and 114.06 mg/d in Jhadol), iron (6.30 mg/d in Kotra and 5.15 mg/d in Jhadol), zinc (3.12 mg/d in Kotra and 2.34 mg/d in Jhadol), Ascorbic Acid (6.78 mg/d in Kotra and 5.40 mg/d in Jhadol), b-carotene (2.99 mg/d in Kotra and 1.41 mg/d in Jhadol), and retinol (4.21mg/d in Kotra and 1.87 mg/d in Jhadol) were inadequate while their diets were found secured regarding protein intake (20.36g/d in Kotra and 16.98 g/d in Jhadol). The diet of tribal 4-5 year girls was found exceptionally inadequate in protective foods like green leafy vegetables, roots and tubers, energy giving foods like fats and body building foods like milk and milk products.

Arthropod-borne viruses of the alphavirus and flavivirus genera are human pathogens of significant concern, and currently, no specific antiviral treatment is available for these viruses. This study has elucidated the antiviral mechanisms of natural small molecules against the dengue (DENV) and chikungunya virus (CHIKV). Herbacetin (HC) and Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) depleted polyamine levels in Vero cells, which has been demonstrated by thin-layer chromatography (TLC). As polyamines play an essential role in the replication and transcription of RNA viruses, the depletion of polyamines by HC and CAPE was anticipated to inhibit the virus replication. To test this hypothesis, HC and CAPE were evaluated for antiviral activities using a cell-based virus yield assay by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), plaque reduction assay, and immunofluorescence assay (IFA). HC and CAPE displayed potent inhibition with EC50of 463 nM and 0.417 nM for CHIKV and 8.5 µM and 1.15 µM for DENV, respectively. However, the addition of exogenous polyamines did not ultimately rescue the virus titer in both CHIKV and DENV-infected cells. This finding suggested additional antiviral mechanisms for HC and CAPE. Further,in silicoanalysis revealed that HC and CAPE may directly target the viral methyltransferases (MTase) of CHIKV and DENV. The inhibition of virus-specific MTases by HC and CAPE was confirmed using purified viral MTase of CHIKV and DENV. Altogether, the dual targeting of the host pathway and the viral MTase using potent natural antiviral molecules is expected to facilitate the development of effective biological therapies.IMPORTANCEVector-borne diseases caused by DENV and CHIKV has a catastrophic impact on human health worldwide. There are no effective vaccines and antiviral drugs present in the market till date against these viruses. In the present study, natural small molecules have been identified as antivirals against DENV and CHIKV. These molecules directly inhibit the virus and impede the synthesis of essential host molecules required for efficient virus replication. Hence, these broad-spectrum antivirals have high therapeutic potential.

Refined carbohydrates, such as white rice and white flour, are the mainstay of the modern Asian Indian diet and may contribute to the rising incidence of Type- 2 diabetes and other life style diseases in this population. Low-glycemic index foods and high fibre content might play a significant role as functional foods in reducing the risk of such chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, obesity and cancer etc. In this study, two breakfast/ lunch items were targeted to modify and develop a low glycemic index recipe that can be consumed by diabetic individual. The prepared foods were investigated for organoleptic evaluation and proximate composition (moisture, protein, fat, crude fibre and ash content). Both the prepared products were organoleptically fell in the category of “liked very much” and nutritionally have a good potential for use as low glycemic food. The concept of glycemic index of various foods has emerged as a boon to dietary therapy of diabetes mellitus, indicating the beneficial aspect of foods consumed both individually and as mixed meals.

Polysaccharides are biopolymers distinguished by their complex secondary structures executing various roles in microorganisms, plants, and animals. They are made up of long monomers of similar type or as a combination of other monomeric chains. Polysaccharides are considered superior as compared to other polymers due to their diversity in charge and size, biodegradability, abundance, bio-compatibility, and less toxicity. These natural polymers are widely used in designing of nanoparticles (NPs) which possess wide applications in therapeutics, diagnostics, delivery and protection of bioactive compounds or drugs. The side chain reactive groups of polysaccharides are advantageous for functionalization with nanoparticle-based conjugates or therapeutic agents such as small molecules, proteins, peptides and nucleic acids. Polysaccharide NPs show excellent pharmacokinetic and drug delivery properties, facilitate improved oral absorption, control the release of drugs, increases in vivo retention capability, targeted delivery, and exert synergistic effects. This review updates the usage of polysaccharides based NPs particularly cellulose, chitosan, hyaluronic acid, alginate, dextran, starch, cyclodextrins, pullulan, and their combinations with promising applications in diabetes, organ fibrosis and arthritis.

Dye-decolorizing peroxidases (DyPs) are heme-containing peroxidases, which have promising application in biodegradation of phenolic lignin compounds and in detoxification of dyes. In this study, the crystal structure of BsDyP- veratryl alcohol (VA) complex delves deep into the binding of small substrate molecules within the DyP heme cavity. The biochemical analysis shows that BsDyP oxidizes the VA with a turnover number of 0.065 s−1, followed by the oxidation of 2,6-dimethoxyphenol (DMP) and guaiacol with a comparable turnover number (kcat) of 0.07 s−1 and 0.07 s−1, respectively. Moreover, biophysical and computational studies reveal the comparable binding affinity of substrates to BsDyP and produce lower-energy stable BsDyP-ligand(s) complexes. All together with our previous findings, we are providing a complete structural description of substrate-binding sites in DyP. The structural insight of BsDyP helps to modulate its engineering to enhance the activity towards the oxidation of a wide range of substrates.

Energy efficient workflow scheduling is the demand of the present time’s computing platforms such as an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud. An appreciable amount of energy can be saved if a dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) enabled environment is considered. But it is important to decrease makespan of a schedule as well, so that it may not extend beyond the deadline specified by the cloud user. In this paper, we propose a workflow scheduling algorithm which is inspired from hybrid chemical reaction optimization (HCRO) algorithm. The proposed scheme is shown to be energy efficient. Apart from this, it is also shown to minimize makespan. We refer the proposed approach as energy efficient workflow scheduling (EEWS) algorithm. The EEWS is introduced with a novel measure to determine the amount of energy which can be conserved by considering a DVS-enabled environment. Through simulations on a variety of scientific workflow applications, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme performs better than the existing algorithms such as HCRO and multiple priority queues genetic algorithm (MPQGA) in terms of various performance metrics including makespan and the amount of energy conserved. The significance of the proposed algorithm is also judged through the analysis of variance (ANOVA) test and its subsequent LSD analysis.

Oxidative stress and persistent inflammation play crucial role in the progression of diabetic wound complications. Hemeoxgenase-1 (HO-1) by degrading hemin has been shown to display anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Further, hemin is a potent HO-1 inducer. Thus, the current study was aimed to evaluate the effect of topical application of hemin on diabetic wound in rats. Four hundred square millimeter open excision wound were created 2 weeks after induction of diabetes with single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (60 mg/kg), and the diabetic rats were divided into three groups namely diabetic control, hemin, and tin protoporphyrin (SnPPIX). Ointment base, hemin (0.5% in ointment base), and SnPPIX (0.5% in ointment base) were applied topically to wounded area in diabetic control, hemin, and SnPPIX group rats, respectively, twice daily for 19 days. Hemin significantly increased the wound contraction in comparison to control and SnPPIX-treated rats. Time-dependent analysis revealed significant increase in anti-oxidants with concomitant decrease in oxidants in hemin-treated rats as compared to diabetic control rats. Further, mRNA expression decreased for inflammatory cytokine and increased for anti-inflammatory cytokine in hemin group as compared to diabetic control rats. Expression of HO-1 also increased in hemin group as compared to diabetic control rats. However, SnPPIX group results were in disagreement with results of hemin which is clearly reflected in histopathology. Results indicate the ability of hemin to accelerate wound healing in diabetic rats by combating inflammation and oxidative stress probably via HO-1.

Klebsiella pneumonia is known to cause several nosocomial infections in immunocompromised patients. It has developed resistance against a broad range of presently available antibiotics, resulting in high mortality rates in patients and declared an urgent threat. Therefore, exploration of possible novel drug targets against this opportunistic bacteria needs to be undertaken. In the present study, we performed an extensive in-silico analysis for functional and structural annotation and characterized HP CP995_08280 from K. pneumonia as a drug target and aimed to identify potent drug candidates. The functional and structural studies using several bioinformatics tools and databases predicted that HP CP995_08280 is a cytosolic protein that belongs to the β-lactamase family and shares structural similarity with FmtA protein from Staphylococcus aureus (PDB ID: 5ZH8). The structure of HP CP995_08280 was successfully modeled followed by structure-based virtual screening, docking, molecular dynamics, and Molecular mechanic/Poisson-Boltzmann surface area (MMPBSA) were performed to identify the potential compounds. We have found five potent antibacterial molecules, namely BDD 24083171, BDD 24085737, BDE 25098678, BDE 33638819, and BDE 33672484, which exhibited high binding affinity (-7.5 kcal/mol) and were stabilized by hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions with active site residues (Ser42, Lys45, Tyr126, and Asp128) of protein. Molecular dynamics and MMPBSA revealed that HP CP995_08280 - ligand(s) complexes were less dynamic and more stable than native HP CP995_08280. Hence, the present study may serve as a potential lead for developing inhibitors against drug-resistant Klebsiella pneumonia.

COVID-19 is a respiratory infection that has been declared as a global health crisis by the WHO. It mainly affects the respiratory system. Apart from respiratory system, it also affects other organs as well including the brain. Numerous emerging reports have demonstrated that the COVID-19 has detrimental effects on neurological functions, and can lead to severe impairment of the central nervous system (CNS). The neurological manifestations linked with COVID-19 include headache, anosmia, encephalitis, epileptic seizures, Guillain-Barre syndrome, stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage alongwith multiple others complications. The CNS related complications may be severe and are linked with poor diagnosis which may worsen the condition. Therefore, there is a need to precisely understand the neurological sequelae along with upcoming clinical outcomes. Here, we present a brief review of the neurological complications and symptoms associated with COVID-19 along with brain imaging findings. Further, we have discussed about the emerging biosensing approaches which may aid in rapid, precise and mass diagnosis of COVID-19.

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic demands a novel approach to combat and identify potential therapeutic targets. The SARS-CoV2 infection causes a hyperimmune response followed by a spectrum of diseases. Limonoids are a class of triterpenoids known to prevent the release of IL-6, IL-15, IL-1α, IL-1β via TNF and are also known to modulate PI3K/Akt/GSK-3β, JNK1/2, MAPKp38, ERK1/2, and PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathways and could help to avoid viral infection, persistence, and pathogenesis. The present study employs a computational approach of virtual screening and molecular dynamic (MD) simulations of such compounds against RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), Main protease (Mpro), and Papain-like protease (PLpro) of SARS-CoV2. MD simulation, Molecular Mechanics Poisson-Boltzmann Surface Area (MM/PBSA), and Essential dynamics revealed that the macromolecule-ligand complexes are stable with very low free energy of binding. Such compounds that could modulate both host responses and inhibit viral machinery could be beneficial in effectively controlling the global pandemic., Graphical abstract Image 1
