Abstract

This paper presents a model based procedure for in situ error compensation of magnetic measurements in fusion experiments. The proposed approach is validated on RFX-mod2, a toroidal device presently being upgraded with a sophisticated new magnetic diagnostic system and a state-of-the-art real time control system. The numerical simulations are performed with the code CAFE-VI; synthetic measurements are used to assess the reliability of the proposed method.

Abstract

In this work a surface current plasma model is coupled to a Volume Integral Formulation for studying the interaction between tokamak tearing modes and the machine metallic structures surrounding the plasma. By evaluating the passive response on a set of pick-up probes, tearing modes amplitude is estimated.

Abstract

A new Partial Element Equivalent Circuit formulation based on Hertz potentials and the Cell Method is presented. Conductive, dielectric, and magnetic linear-homogeneous media are considered by means of conduction, polarization, and magnetization current densities.
