The purpose of presented research was to develop feasible model for leadership competence management in metallurgical companies. Results of the research are presented in the form of a structured procedure for leadership competence development and performance review. Analysis of entry requirements for employment in metallurgical companies synthesized presented set of leadership competences and matrix for calculation of leadership success was developed. With usage of these two tools it is possible to quantify the leadership performance which represents great advantage in leadership benchmarking process. During the research additional set of problems was defined. These problems were addressed heuristically in the framework of this research.

In continuous casting steel production a significant loss reduction – in terms of scrap material, time and money – can be achieved by developing an appropriate algorithm for the prevention of molten steel sticking onto mould. The logic of such algorithm should be simple and manageable to ensure its practical implementation on a computer system via the usage of thermo sensors. This suggests that both the algorithm and the automated data collection can be implemented by means of applicative software. Despite its simplicity, the algorithm should accurately trace physical phenomena in molten steel.

Moving of tractors and mobile systems can be divided in two groups: moving trough the inner parts of fields, and through the headlands. On headlands, soil compressing is more intensive due to lower moving speeds while turning, which enable soil to be exposed longer time to the normal charge, and to get more compressed. Under the influence of pressure of mobile machines and other factors, change of soil appears causing unfavorable conditions for growth and development of crops, which is being manifested by permanent soil damage, yield decrease, and other costs increase. The aim of these trials was to determine influence of soil compressing at headlands and inner parts of fields on wheat yields, as the most present crops in agro-ecological conditions of Northern Kosovo and Metohija. Soil compressing has been measured by Eijkelkamp penetrometer, at the following depths: 0-20 cm. Results of the trial indicate that during two years of trials, soil compressing at headlands was germination 31,88% higher compared to the inner parts of fields, while increase of soil compressing at the headlands before harvesting was 40,52 in average. The yields of wheat at the inner parts of the fields compared to those at the headlands were 50.98% higher. .

Global or even corporate projects require the involvement of virtual teams. The virtual team effectiveness plays an important role in project performance. Establishing strong communication, cooperation and argue among the project manager, stakeholders, team members are the critical factors for the success of the project. Different communication technologies can be used to support different purposes and participants in virtual team. This article presents an importance and impact of some of the factors which contribute to project performance on an example from pharmaceutical industry.

Rye is a farming culture that is important as bread wheat. It is excellent fodder either the green or in the bran, flour or grain. The rye grain is used for the production of alcohol, vinegar and starch, cellulose, lignin, furfurol, good quality paper and seeds in the pharmaceutical industry. The process of production of rye grain on the principle of 'grain-grain', can also occur through the sowing of winter rye. Sowing units take up important role in the technological process of sowing of winter rye as the dominant in agro-ecological conditions in northern Kosovo and Metohija. The very process of sowing is followed by a series of specific features that interact with the effects of applied work of narrow line seeder significantly affect the amount of actual yield of winter rye and profitability of its production. It is practically impossible to remove omission in the process of winter rye sowing. The aim of this research was to determine the quality and reliability of different narrow line seeder of rye based on field-laboratory research and exploitation in the agro-ecological conditions of northern Kosovo and Metohija, depending on defined parameters. These results indicate the advantages and disadvantages of the applied sowing aggregates concepts. .

Using the resources efficiently and effectively is the foundation for enterprise strategy success in today’s business environment. The importance of project management is not in question when one-time goals defined in a project are observed. However, only with the coordinated program management strategic goals can be reached. In that context project goals can be observed only as milestones on the way to the strategic goals achievement. In this article the specifics of project and program management are reviewed from different aspects on the grounds of increasing the level of efficiency and effectiveness in the enterprise resource usage taking into account the constraints and quality. Analysis and synthesis presented in this article are founded on relevant and recent scientific research in the field of project management, and its validity is verified against a case study in a pharmaceutical company. Presented results are a part of a more detailed model for project management in the manufacturing enterprises

Information and communication technologies have a central role in the manufacturing system integration process. In this paper, a conceptual framework for the integration of available software applications is presented. Analysis of Croatian industrial enterprises is used to create a feasible computer aided process planning model. The suggested model uses the built-in ability of installed software for sharing information derived from processes with which they are connected. Information is then used for generating the optimal process plan for the current surroundings in the central CAPP module. Using the presented conceptual framework, modular CAPP solutions are created and customized to fit the needs of different manufacturing enterprises, taking into consideration the implementation costs and time.

A combined empirical-mathematical method, which uses classification of materials based on their supply and consumption characteristics is required to calculate the quantities of each material and material replenishment schedules. The volume that is required to store certain material is always greater than the actual real volume that material occupies in space. Materials with simple configuration, if sorted properly, require fewer warehouses, transport or stock volume, than the ones that have complex configuration. An optimization model for a replenishment schedule takes into consideration the material volume factor. If an entity ordering in the given storage volume is taken into consideration, the financial resources related to the manufacturing of a product can be reduced. The problem of entity ordering in the drafting phase of inventory management can be solved by using 3D CAD software which provides and supports a generation of optimal entity ordering, using simulated and real objects, handling, storage and carriage equipment, as well as other influential features. In this way, engineers can generate all possible variants of entity ordering. Every variant must be estimated in relation to the financial context and manufacturing context. If more than one variant satisfies the limitations, the one that has the biggest cost saving influence becomes the new operative replenishment schedule. To check the usefulness of the new approach for the replenishment of schedule optimization process that integrates an entity ordering optimization procedure, an example of a simple assembly is presented.

Case studies emphasize detailed contextual analysis of a limited number of events or conditions and their relationships. Scientists use the case study research method across a variety of disciplines. In this article we give the overview of the case study scientific method and the importance of its use in the industrial enterprises strategy formulation process.

The traditional grouping method in batch manufacturing is functional grouping. In this approach, similar types of machines are grouped together. It has a number of limitations like considerable distance traveled by products, high levels of material handling and long lead time. To avoid this industrial manufacturing enterprises use group technology concept which basic idea is to manufacturing system be segmented into adequate subsystems. In order to do that it is necessary to form groups of products which are associated to these manufacturing subsystems. Group technology identify and brings together related or similar products and takes advantage of their similarities. Product are grouped into families of parts, and machines into manufacturing cells. Machine– part matrix representation is most frequently used to present the problems of group technology.

Manufacturing ask that time for her planning be shorter. Because of big volume of information, permanent plan modification, complexity of the manufacturing system models there is need for software support in manufacturing systems planning. Requirements from software are: include objective criteria and aligning optimal solution with minimal differences between planned and real characteristics. In this paper, a software program for manufacturing system planning (PPS) is described. This was developed and tested on examples, representing an efficient mean of more rationale, creative and quality planning activity. With this kind of software’ s reaches quality project result, reduced planning time, generation of multivariate results, segmenting of a CMS into BMS, based on suitable grouping of similar work pieces and planning costs reducing.

Traditional approach in developing systems for control of production is focused on developing centralized server for collecting, archiving and processing data acquired from production shop floor. Basic shortcoming of these systems is reliability since with the shut-down of the system all possibility for production control is neglected. By introducing the system based on application of distributed intelligent agent, as a basic software unit, it is possible to achieve reliable production process control in an unstable environment that is especially noted in rolling mill production shop floor because of the physical nature of the process. In this paper the application of distributed intelligent agents for production process control in rolling mill shop floor is shown.

The subject of this review is Product Lifecycle Management or PLM. It is very important to realize that PLM does not define a piece of technology, but it is a business concept that defines the approach for solving the problems in product and product information definition and management process. The main reasons for a review of this subject emerges from the need of today’ s enterprises for support in business decision process, collaboration and integration of tools, information’ s and skills across the entire enterprise. This paper presents the basic approach to PLM and its solutions today.

Development of machine tools and need for simultaneous control of couple machine tools in production system have effect to develop Direct Numerical Control (DNC). DNC system generates efficiency, greater degree of automation transfer process and automatic defining operative data lead at greater degree of machine utilization and reducing of personnel for serving the machines. Reduces number of malfunction as result of nothingness control program (NC code) or error in program, its reduce costs because machines are in constant work and enable ordinary survey of tool, machines and production condition (Real Time Control). DNC advantages regarding NC system come on manipulation of big NC programs for production complex parts on machining centers with automatic tool and part changes. In this paper DNC system is described, his advantages and disadvantages and modern methods of integration system in one unit.

Modern productions of rolling mill products assume high level of automation. This automation does not fit just within the role of production execution but also serves the part of process that represents connection between the production and rest of business. This connection is represented by automation of material tracking from the production entry point, in accordance with planned orders received form the production planning function, till the exit of material from the production line for the finalization and packing of the finished products.

Technological casting process is composed of certain number of successive stages. These stages are interdependent, and have significantly different characteristics of applied procedures, tools, equipment and materials used in certain stage. Organization science, especially process planning and process monitoring demands holistic observation of entire casting process for specific entity. There is a necessity to form unique annotation system for every entity which is a part of casting process to ensure high level of system management. To ensure that, capability for precise entity identification is assured. Well organized enterprises must have well defined entities. Numerical entity annotation is providing ability for entity identification and classification according to type and characteristics to organizations. Good entity annotation system sets the foundation for good enterprise management system.

Factors of organization influencing on shaping of organizational structure and they cannot be observed one by one during this process. The reason is in mutual influence of factors and their connectivity. The final choice between possible organizational structures will depend about factors which influence is strongest within specific phase of developing process of enterprise. Previously, the organizational factors have to be classified regarding the size of influence on shaping process of organizational structures. Based on that will be performed the quantification of this influence. Some of organizational factors act alone and in relations with other relevant factors. Will be necessary to determine the total value of influence of all relevant organizational factors corresponds to the relevant type of basic organizational structures.

The last, but not less important features are market competitiveness and environmental sustainability. The presented analysis confirms the abovementioned demands by ilu lustrating the small compact loader hydrostatic transmission. With regard to the hydrostatic transmission of loader, it has been noted that variable displacement axial piston pump whe combined with dual displacement hydro motor has greater advantages than when it is combined with fixed displacement hydro motor. Special emhasis is pu ton energy saving i.e. minimum fuel consumption of diesel engine as driver for hydrostatic pump. Such approach to design small compact loader gives a great contribution in reduction of emissions of harmful gases. That is the most important mission of any motor vehicle designer when attempting to prevent the environment pollution.

Temeljni koncepti izvrsnosti daju nam radni okvir za postizanje TQM-a, a utemeljeni su na principima TQM-a.

There are empirical, tabled, graphical and mathematical methods of optimization of material's stocks. To optimization be successful is necessary to more parameters, which are different and specific for each production system, has to be taken in consideration because characteristics of production program, production system and production policy influence on them. Optimization for each, well organized, production system has own specifics which coming from the fact that each manufacture are based on operational plans from which come out many characteristics of optimization which has to be implemented. Primary there are supplying and consuming characteristics. Will be shortly explained combined empirical-mathematical method which use classification of materials based on their supplying and consuming characteristics. For each class of material is defined the accounting model of the minimal and maximal quantities on stock. The quantities of each material and terminus of stock renewing are defined considering the renewing of material stocks based on operational plans of assembly-line production.
