2. A Marching Cube Algorithm Based on Edge Growth

Abstract

Marching Cube algorithm is currently one of the most popular 3D reconstruction surface rendering algorithms. It forms cube voxels through the input image, and then uses 15 basic topological configurations to extract the iso-surfaces in the voxels. It processes each cube voxel in a traversal manner, but it does not consider the relationship between iso-surfaces in adjacent cubes. Due to ambiguity, the final reconstructed model may have holes. We propose a Marching Cube algorithm based on edge growth. The algorithm first extracts seed triangles, then grows the seed triangles and reconstructs the entire 3D model. According to the position of the growth edge, we propose 17 topological configurations with iso-surfaces. From the reconstruction results, the algorithm can reconstruct the 3D model well. When only the main contour of the 3D model needs to be organized, the algorithm performs well. In addition, when there are multiple scattered parts in the data, the algorithm can extract only the 3D contours of the parts connected to the seed by setting the region selected by the seed.

Abstract

Aiming to design a simulate software of human tissue modeling and analysis，Visual Studio 2010 is selected as a development tool to develop a 3 D reconstruction software of human tissue with language C++.It can be used alone. It also can be a module of the virtual surgery systems. The system includes medical image segmentation modules and 3 D reconstruction modules，and can realize the model visualization. This software system has been used to reconstruct hip muscles，femur and hip bone accurately. The results show these geometry models can simulate the structure of hip tissues.

Abstract

In the process of fracture healing, there are many cellular and molecular events that are regulated by mechanical stimuli and biochemical signals. To explore the unknown mechanisms underlying bone fracture healing, optimal fixation configurations, and the design of new treatment strategies, computational healing models provide a good solution. With the simulation of mechanoregulatory healing models, bioregulatory healing models and coupled mechanobioregulatory healing models, healing outcomes can be predicted. In this review, first, we provide an overview of current computational healing models. Their clinical applications are also presented. Then, the limitations of current models and their corresponding solutions are discussed in this review. Finally, future potentials are presented in this review. Multiscale modeling from the intracellular level to the tissue level is essential, and more clinical applications of computational healing models are required in future research.

Abstract

Skeletal muscle energy metabolism plays a very important role in controlling movement of the whole body and has important theoretical guidance for making exercise training plans and losing weight. In this paper, we developed a mathematical model of skeletal muscle excitation–contraction pathway based on the energy metabolism that links excitation to contraction to explore the effects of different metabolic energy systems on calcium ion changes and the force during skeletal muscle contraction. In this paper, a membrane potential model, a calcium cycle model, a cross-bridge dynamics model and an energy metabolism model were established. Finally, the physiological phenomenon of calcium ion transport and calcium ion concentration change of the sarcoplasm was simulated. The results show that the phosphagen system has the fastest metabolic rate and the phosphagen system has the largest impact on the explosive power of skeletal muscle exercise. The specific characteristics of the three metabolic energy systems supporting skeletal muscle movement in vivo were also analyzed in detail. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
