We systematically investigate unconventional superfluid phases of fermionic dipolar particles lying in a double-wire setup with laser-assisted interwire tunneling. Our numerical simulations, based on the nonlocal Kohn-Sham Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation, reveal the existence of a large Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) region with a stripe phase under an imbalance of particle densities between two wires. When the laser-assisted interwire tunneling is present, it induces a transition from the FFLO phase to the topological superfluid phase and the associated Majorana zero modes exhibit an oscillation structure, which is significantly enhanced by the long-range nature of the interwire dipolar interaction. This distinguishes itself from the results obtained with usual contact interaction and offers new opportunities for manipulating and reshaping Majorana zero modes by adjusting the degree of the nonlocality and the interwire separation., Comment: 8 pages, 6 figures

From the mid-19th century to the end of the 20th century, photographic plates served as the primary detectors for astronomical observations. Astronomical photographic observations in China began in 1901, and over a century, a total of approximately 30,000 astronomical photographic plates have been captured. These historical plates play an irreplaceable role in conducting long-term, time-domain astronomical research. To preserve and explore these valuable original astronomical observational data, Shanghai Astronomical Observatory has organized the transportation of plates taken at night from various stations across the country to the Sheshan Plate Archive for centralized preservation. For the first time, plate information statistics was performed. On this basis, the plates were cleaned and digitally scanned, and finally digitized images were acquired for 29,314 plates. In this study, using Gaia DR2 as the reference star catalog, astrometric processing has been carried out successfully on 15,696 single-exposure plates, including object extraction, stellar identification, and plate model computation. As a result, for long focal length telescopes, such as the 40cm double-tube refractor telescope and the 1.56m reflector telescope at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory and the 1m reflector telescope at the Yunnan Astronomical Observatory, the astrometric accuracy obtained for their plates is approximately 0.1" to 0.3". The distribution of astrometric accuracy for medium and short focal length telescopes ranges from 0.3" to 1.0". The relevant data of this batch of plates, including digitized images and stellar catalog of the plates are archived and released by the National Astronomical Data Center. We investigate the collisions of Majorana zero modes, which are presented as inter-soliton collisional events in fermionic superfluids with spin-orbit coupling. Our results demonstrate that, the zero energy splitting, induced by the overlapping of inter-soliton Majorana wave-functions upon collision, generates an effective repulsive force for Majorana states, which in turn protected themselves against into bulk excitation. As a result, the collision between solitons associated with Majorana zero modes appears to be repulsive and elastic, as they do not penetrate each other but instead repel without energy loss. As well, similar repulsive behavior is observed in collisions between soliton-induced and defect-pinned Majorana zero modes. Our research offers new insights into the features of Majorana fermions, and robustness in the collisions of Majorana zero modes bodes well for the prospects of topological quantum computation with a multitude of Majorana qubits., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures

Cesium Iodide (CsI) crystals are widely used in high-energy physics for their scintillation properties that enable detection of charged and neutral particles via direct and indirect ionization and form the basis of electromagnetic calorimeters. However, knowledge of antineutron interactions with CsI is limited due to the difficulty of obtaining sources of antineutron of sufficient intensity and energy definition. As antineutron are abundantly produced by many processes it would be particularly useful to improve understanding of the interactions of antineutrons with CsI crystals. We propose to use the decay $J/\psi\to p\pi^-\bar{n}$ at the BEPCII $J/\psi$ factory as a source of antineutrons using the BESIII detector with a CsI target added between the beam pipe and the detector. The BESIII Monte Carlo simulation with varying thicknesses of CsI target is used to validate the approach and optimize the target thickness. Selecting $p\pi^-$ charged particle tracks from the Monte Carlo we obtain clean antineutron samples with well defined momentum and direction. The selection efficiency, momentum and angular resolutions, as well as the interaction probability between antineutron and the CsI target are estimated. As the CsI thickness is increased more antineutron CsI interactions are obtained,however the quality of the $p\pi^-$ selection is degraded. The Monte Carlo study yields an optimum thickness that balances these effects. This approach can be applied to similar experiments with other types of target materials to measure baryons such as liquid hydrogen/deuterium and $\Lambda/\Xi$ hyperons.

We investigate the multi-photon resonance and multi-ion excitation in a single-mode cavity with identical vibrating ion-qubits, which enables the tripartite interaction among the internal states of ions, the cavity mode and the ions' vibrational motion. Under particular resonant conditions, we derive effective Hamiltonians for the three-photon and the three-excitation cases, respectively, and find that the magnitude of the effective coupling energy can be tuned through the vibration mode, allowing for manipulations of ion-photon coupling in experiments. Furthermore, we analyze the system dynamics of our proposed setups and demonstrate the Rabi oscillation behaviors in these systems with dissipation effects. We investigate the superfluidity of a two-component Fermi gas with spin-orbital-angular-momentum coupling (SOAMC). Due to the intricate interplay of SOAMC, two-photon detuning and atom-atom interaction, a family of vortex ground states emerge in a broad parameter regime of the phase diagram, in contrast to the usual case where an external rotation or magnetic field is generally required. More strikingly, an unprecedented vortex state, which breaks the continuous rotational symmetry to a discrete one spontaneously, is predicted to occur. The underlying physics are elucidated and verified by numerical simulations. Larkin-Ovchinnikov (LO) state which combines the superfluidity and spatial periodicity of pairing order parameter and exhibits the supersolid properties has been attracting intense attention in both condensed matter physics and ultracold atoms. Conventionally, realization of LO state from an intrinsic s-wave interacting system necessitates to break the time-reversal (TR) and sometimes spatial-inversion (SI) symmetries. Here we report a novel prediction that the LO state can be realized in a TR and SI symmetric system representing a bilayer Fermi gas subjected to a laserassisted interlayer tunneling. We show that the intralayer s-wave atomic interaction acts effectively like a p-wave interaction in the pseudospin space. This provides distinctive pairing effects in the present system with pseudspin spin-orbit coupling, and leads to a spontaneous density-modulation of the pairing order predicted in a very broad parameter regime. Unlike the conventional schemes, our results do not rely on the spin imbalance or external Zeeman fields, showing a highly feasible way to observe the long-sought-after LO superfluid phase using the laser-assisted bilayer Fermi gases., Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures

The exclusive Born cross sections of the production of $D^0$, $D^+$ and $D_s^+$ mesons in $e^+e^-$ annihilation at 13 energy points between 3.970 and 4.260 GeV are obtained by applying corrections for initial state radiation and vacuum polarization to the observed cross sections measured by CLEO-c experiment. The hybrid optical pumping spin exchange relaxation free (SERF) atomic magnetometers can realize ultrahigh sensitivity measurement of magnetic field and inertia. We have studied the $^{\text{85}}$Rb polarization of two types of hybrid optical pumping SERF magnetometers based on $^{\text{39}}$K-$^{\text{85}}$Rb-$^{\text{4}}$He and $^{\text{133}}$Cs-$^{\text{85}}$Rb-$^{\text{4}}$He respectively. Then we found that $^{\text{85}}$Rb polarization varies with the number density of buffer gas $^{\text{4}}$He and quench gas N$_{\text{2}}$, pumping rate of pump beam and cell temperature respectively, which will provide an experimental guide for the design of the magnetometer. We obtain a general formula on the fundamental sensitivity of the hybrid optical pumping SERF magnetometer due to shot-noise. The formula describes that the fundamental sensitivity of the magnetometer varies with the number density of buffer gas and quench gas, the pumping rate of pump beam, external magnetic field, cell effective radius, measurement volume, cell temperature and measurement time. We obtain a highest fundamental sensitivity of $1.5073$ $aT/Hz^{1/2}$ ($1$ $aT=10^{-18}$ $T$) with $^{\text{39}}$K-$^{\text{85}}$Rb-$^{\text{4}}$He magnetometer between above two types of magnetometers when $^{\text{85}}$Rb polarization is $0.1116$. We estimate the fundamental sensitivity limit of the hybrid optical pumping SERF magnetometer to be superior to $1.8359\times10^{-2}$ $aT/Hz^{1/2}$, which is higher than the shot-noise-limited sensitivity of $1$ $aT/Hz^{1/2}$ of K SERF atomic magnetometer., Comment: 40 pages, 6 figures

Recently a scheme has been proposed for generating the 2D Rashba-type spin-orbit coupling (SOC) for ultracold atomic bosons in a bilayer geometry [S.-W. Su et al, Phys. Rev. A \textbf{93}, 053630 (2016)]. Here we investigate the superfluidity properties of a degenerate Fermi gas affected by the SOC in such a bilayer system. We demonstrate that a Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO) state appears in the regime of small to moderate atom-light coupling. In contrast to the ordinary SOC, the FFLO state emerges in the bilayer system without adding any external fields or spin polarization. As the atom-light coupling increases, the system can transit from the FFLO state to a topological superfluid state. The relative differences in coordinates of Cylindrical-Gas-Electron-Multiplier-Detector-based Inner Tracker (CGEM-IT) clusters are studied to search for track segments in CGEM-IT. With the full simulation of single muon track samples, clear patterns are found and parameterized for the correct cluster combinations. The cluster combinations satisfying the patterns are selected as track segment candidates in CGEM-IT with an efficiency higher than 99%. The parameters of the track segments are obtained by a helix fitting. Some chi-squared quantities, evaluating the differences in track parameters between the track segments in CGEM-IT and the tracks found in Outer-Drift-Chamber (ODC), are calculated and used to match them. Proper chi-squared requirements are determined as a function of transverse momentum and the matching efficiency is found reasonable.

Topological superfluid, new quantum matter that possesses gapless exotic excitations known as Majorana fermions, has attracted extensive attention recently. These excitations, which can encode topological qubits, could be crucial ingredients for fault-tolerant quantum computation. However, creating and manipulating multiple Majorana fermions remain an ongoing challenge. Loading a topologically protected system in multi-layer structures would be a natural and simple way to achieve this goal. Here we investigate the system of bilayer Fermi gases with spin-orbit coupling and show that the topological condition is significantly influenced by the inter-layer tunneling, yielding two novel topological phases, which support more Majorana Fermions. We demonstrate the existence of such novel topological phases and associated multiple Majorana fermions using bilayer Fermi gases trapped inside a harmonic potential. Considering the aging effects of existing Inner Drift Chamber (IDC) of BES\uppercase\expandafter{\romannumeral3}, a GEM based inner tracker is proposed to be designed and constructed as an upgrade candidate for IDC. This paper introduces a full simulation package of CGEM-IT with a simplified digitization model, describes the development of the softwares for cluster reconstruction and track fitting algorithm based on Kalman filter method for CGEM-IT. Preliminary results from the reconstruction algorithms are obtained using a Monte Carlo sample of single muon events in CGEM-IT.

This paper introduces the calibration of the time-to-distance relation for the BESIII drift chamber. The parameterization of the time-to-distance relation is presented. The studies of left-right asymmetry and the variation with the entrance angle are performed. The impact of dead channels on the time-to-distance relation is given special attention in order to reduce the shifts of the measured momenta for the tracks passing near dead cells. Finally we present the spatial resolution (123 {\mu}m) for barrel Bhabha events (|cos{\theta}|<0.8) from J/{\psi} data taken in 2012.
