Egg protein (EP) concentration, pH, and glutaraldehyde (GA) concentration were optimized using Box Behnken design (BBD) to prepare GA-EP-Carr (Carrageenan) beads as a carrier for Aspergillus niger MK981235 cellulase. It was recommended that the concentrations of GA, and EP be set at 11.21% (w/v), 8% (w/w), and pH 3, respectively. It was determined that 60 °C and 2% for free form and 60 °C and 3% for im-cellulase were the optimum temperature and CMC concentration parameters for maximum enzyme activity. Free and im-cellulase were determined to have Km and Vmax of 2.22 mg.ml-1 and 1.76 µmol.ml-1.min-1, and 4.55 mg.ml-1 and 3.33 µmol.ml-1.min-1, respectively. Covalent coupling of A. niger cellulase to GA- EP- Carr beads improved its thermodynamic parameters T1/2 and D-values by 2.48, 2.01, and 2.36 times at 40, 50, and 60 °C, respectively. GA- EP- Carr im-cellulase was 100% active for 60 days at 4 °C and can be used for CMC hydrolysis for 20 successive cycles. GA- EP- Carr im-cellulase showed remarkable efficiency in the clarification of mango, peach, grape, and orange juices emphasized by TSS (total soluble solids), turbidity, and reducing sugar measurements for 3 successive cycles. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, visitors' worries about health and safety in tourist destinations have become paramount. Consequently, this research aims to evaluate the impact of health and safety considerations on visitors' satisfaction. It also examines the influence of health consciousness and satisfaction on visitors' willingness toward robot-delivered tourism and hospitality services usage and the impact of destination healthcare system and satisfaction on loyalty intentions. Applying a quantitative-based methodology, 650 responses were collected from domestic tourists visiting Egyptian tourism destinations using multiple non-probability sampling techniques. Using PLS-SEM, the results articulated that emotional well-being, perceived safety, and perceived green image positively impacted visitors' satisfaction, which in turn, positively affected their willingness toward service robot's usage and loyalty. Tourists' health consciousness also positively affected their satisfaction and intentions to use robot-delivered services. Additionally, destination healthcare system significantly influenced visitors' satisfaction and loyalty intentions. Theoretical and managerial contributions as well as future research are outlined. To develop a bioprocess for Cr(VI) detoxification in industrial effluents, a previously isolated potent Cr(VI) reducing haloalkaliphilic Nesterenkonia sp strain NRC-Y was immobilized and investigated for Cr(VI) detoxification. The immobilization matrices included; natural, modified natural, synthetic, and mixtures of natural and synthetic polymers. Among the tested matrices and immobilization approaches, strain NRC-Y cells encapsulated in 1.5% (w/v) amidated pectin beads exhibited the highest Cr(VI) reduction efficiency (47.02% of initial Cr(VI) concentration 150 mg/L after 20 h) followed by alginate (34.4%), alginate-PVA-chitosan (29.6%), alginate-PVA (25.1%), PVA-PVP (23.2%), and PVA (9.5%). Chromate reductase enzyme was poorly immobilized by covalent binding on the tested materials. Therefore, entrapment in amidated pectin was selected for further investigation and immobilization of both whole cells and partially purified chromate reductase. Operational stability study revealed that the immobilized cells were more efficient and stable than the immobilized chromate reductase, and the free cells. For instance, about 60%, 27.0% and 11.5% of these samples initial activities were retained after four successive batches, respectively. The temperature and pH optima for the immobilized cells were 35°C and 7.0, respectively. The pH and thermal stability of strain NRC-Y cells were significantly enhanced upon immobilization in amidated pectin beads by up to 2.3- and 1.4-fold, respectively. The developed immobilized biocatalyst was applied for Cr(VI) reduction in industrial effluent samples, and it completely reduced Cr(VI) within 4 and 8 h for effluents of initial Cr(VI) concentrations 10 and 30 mg/L, respectively. This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, discusses the use of Percutaneous Laser Ablation (PLA) as a treatment for symptomatic solid benign thyroid nodules. The study involved 14 female patients who underwent a single session of PLA. The results showed that 85% of patients experienced clinical success at 6 months, with a significant reduction in nodule volume. There were no cases of nodule regrowth or major complications, although one patient experienced transient vocal cord paralysis. This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, discusses the use of particles alone in the embolization of hemorrhoidal arteries for the treatment of hemorrhoids. The study followed up with 85 patients over a period of 8 years and found that the technical success rate was 100% with no reported complications. Clinical success was observed in 96.47% of cases, with durable results and no recurrence of bleeding in 82% of cases at 36 months. This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, discusses the safety and efficacy of bronchial artery embolization (BAE) for lung lesions with low flow arterio-venous shunting. The study included 55 hemoptysis patients who underwent BAE between 2018 and 2023. The results showed a 100% technical success rate, with a mean follow-up period of 180 days. Three patients experienced rebleeding and required another session of embolization. The study concludes that BAE with large particles is safe and effective for lesions with low flow bronchopulmonary shunts, with a high success rate and no major complications. Three polysaccharide matrices (κ-Carrageenan (Carr), gellan gum, and agar) were grafted via glutaraldehyde (GA) and pea protein (PP). The grafted matrices covalently immobilized β-d-galactosidase (β-GL). Nonetheless, grafted Carr acquired the topmost amount of immobilized β-GL (iβ-GL). Thus, its grafting process was honed via Box-Behnken design and was further characterized via FTIR, EDX, and SEM. The optimal GA-PP-Carr grafting comprised processing Carr beads with 10% PP dispersion of pH 1 and 25% GA solution. The optimal GA-PP-Carr beads acquired 11.44 Ug−1 iβ-GL with 45.49% immobilization efficiency. Both free and GA-PP-Carr iβ-GLs manifested their topmost activity at the selfsame temperature and pH. Nonetheless, the β-GL Km and Vmax values were reduced following immobilization. The GA-PP-Carr iβ-GL manifested good operational stability. Moreover, its storage stability was incremented where 91.74% activity was offered after 35 storage days. The GA-PP-Carr iβ-GL was utilized to degrade lactose in whey permeate with 81.90% lactose degradation efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
